  1. Voltage and Ironclad already have a meet & greet scheduled under Supercape's eminent direction. I have a few ideas for an overall threat, let me run some numbers.
  2. "Right." Ironclad stepped off the platform, the suit's targeting system quickly painting the various Weissbots and calculating the proper impact angle. She braced herself in a wide stance as flaps on the back of the suit opened; tiny contrails followed dozens of miniature missiles as they flew into the air, then arced towards the mechanical minions. Each projectile imbedded itself in a robot and then exploded with a thunderclap; in moments the convention floor was littered with metal scraps, and the villain's assault force was in pieces. The heroine did a quick scan of the area, nodding to herself. "Well, those worked much better than I had hoped for." She looked up and addressed the man behind the screen directly. "If you want to give us your coordinates, we'll send the police over straight off and we can still end this civilly. Otherwise there'll be blood, sweat, and tears -- all of it yours."
  3. Ironclad will use her Cluster Munitions attack w/ full Power Attack. So taking 10 when attacking Minions, should hit as many as the Shapeable AoE will cover. That a DC 32 Toughness save for 'em, which they cannot possibly make.
  4. Audit'd by Dok Glowstar  Apparently something wasn't added into Glowstar's totals, so he's investing his PP and staying right where he is. Audit'd by Dok
  5. Theosophy'd by Dok Starlight  Put one PP into skills, buy a rank of Diplomacy and three ranks of Knowledge/Philosophy & Theology. Reading up on this 'Logos' guy. Theosophy'd by Dok
  6. Tech upgraded by Dok Ironclad  Rebuild the suit slightly. Moving the ranks of Accurate inside it, that plus monthly awards should let me buy another 2 ranks of Device. Investing it in two ranks of the Weapons Array (upping all the APs), another rank of Accurate, and another rank of Protection. Yay for PL 12 caps! Tech upgraded by Dok
  7. Are the Weissenbots minions by chance?

I am unabashed about my love for Spider-Man's Stark Tech armor, the Iron Spider Armor. I think it's one of the more visually interesting and generally exciting superhero revamps to come out of the mess that was Marvel's Civil War. I understand why it didn't really fit with what Spider-Man is and why it had to go, but I still love it. So here it is in my build thread! Don't worry, I'll get a Speedster battlesuit up eventually. This is a slightly different take on Peter Parker. Instead of getting spider-powers from the bite of an irradiated spider, all he got was a nasty lump and flu-like symptoms for a few days as the radiation and spider venom passed through his system. That meant he was stuck at home when his Uncle Ben went into the city for a job interview. A carjacking, hospital visit, and inspirational quote later and young Peter Parker knew that he couldn't simply life a quiet life in the suburbs. He was destined for something... more. As spider-suits go, this one is pretty basic. It's got an additional four limbs growing out the back, an array of spider-like abilities and can swing through the city on carbon-carbon lines faster than most cars can. The armor makes the wearer bullet-proof to anything up to and including an assault rifle, and the Super-Senses not only allow them to see in the dark, but also to listen in on civilian and police band radio chatter. A solid foundation, I think, and something to build on.
  9. Jessica's head came up when Weissnacht's announcement came on the air. She listened patiently, eyes on the screen, as the villain explained the situation and encouraged the civilians to remain calm. Amazingly enough, they did so, apparently so secure in the knowledge that a hero would be around soon to save them that they weren't even worried about being cut off from the outside world. Jessica straightened and stepped out from behind the nurse-bot, dusting her hands off. "Right, well, I'll be back in a moment. Just need to sort out th--" Penitent's cry -- psychic, mystical, or something altogether more exotic, she didn't know which -- resonated in her brain and made her freeze in place for a moment. As its 'echoes' faded, she shook herself and continued her train of thought. "As I was saying, I'm just going to sort out this Weissnacht and then be back in a jiffy." She touched the bracelet/watch around one wrist and armored up in a blaze of light.

  13. March 7th, 2012 Ironclad was patrolling over Port Royale when the call came in. A group of bank robbers, fleeing the police, had suddenly manifested elemental control powers and wrecked two police cruisers – before the police had taken to wing to chase the criminals down. By the time she arrived on the scene there were reports of a woman who fell into her bathroom tap and was causing hydrants to explode over the city; a group of free-runners who were running up the sides of buildings; and even the Wolfpack showing off strange new powers. After a moment’s deliberation she shot off into the sky again, heading for Hanover and the Lab. As she landed and barged through the doors she was enveloped in a mob of scientists, doctors, and not a few reporters; the gold and green armor made her highly visible, and as the only member of the executive staff on the ground floor, there were a lot of decisions for her to make. A coma victim on the eleventh floor was found covered in a blanket of squirrels that spoke with human voices and claimed to be her; the combat simulator had locked onto Pirates of Penzance again; and someone claimed that the fusion reactor was screaming. The heroine made a beeline for the elevators, answering what questions she could until the doors closed. Her first stop was the thirteenth floor, were after an hour of wrangling with code and cables she pulled the plug on the mainframe there and the building went onto the backups on Fourteen. Then she visited medical and saw the coma-squirrel girl. By the time that surreal interview was over with, Motley had surfaced and made his pronouncement, so they knew it was biochemical. The young genius laid claim to a chemical lab and went to work – and never once had she opened her armor. Seven days passed. Nearly seven straight days of work, partly in the lab and partly out in the city. Sealed in her armor, Ironclad was one of the very few individuals in the city who had been unaffected by Motley’s concoctions. The city seemed on the edge of eruption at all time, and while the other heroes were doing all they could to contain the chaos most of them were having issues with their powers themselves. Ironclad had spent a memorable few minutes helping Captain Thunder wrangle a nest of electric snakes he had unwittingly loosed onto Greenbank. By the second day she desperately wanted a cup of coffee but was unwilling to risk opening her helmet for it. By the fourth day she wanted a shower more than almost anything she had ever wanted in her short life. March 15th, 2012 Marla Tennant, the bubbly redhead on Channel Four, was talking directly to the audience, doing an editorial addressing her own experiences as a gas cloud, and thanking the city’s heroes directly for their work the last week. Jessica Parker, the not-so-public identity of Ironclad, was only half-listening to the newscast. The rest of her was focusing on the steaming bath she had drawn, the first hot water she’d had contact with since the crises began.
  14. I don't think that'll come up with anything immediately useful, no.

I'm more familiar with the BtAS version, who appeared for all of two episodes, but the image above (from Arkham Asylum) looks a bit more like a battlesuit. Mechanically, the suit is an exercise in how to manipulate Strike to get a variety of effects. This character can shoot out a line of fire like a military flamethrower, a cone of fire more like a comic book or video game flamethrower, or even a quick blast of fire to the face if you're worried about bystanders. How can you tell this character is a hero instead of a pyromaniac villain? Well, for one he has a fire extinguisher to stop any fires he starts. A background for this character? He has the skills to be a doctor. Maybe he saw one too many burn victims and decided to take his vengeance to the streets? A bit dark, but it plays to the powerset. Replace Medicine with Know/Physical Sciences or boost his physical ability scores and he could be a firefighter. In that case perhaps his HQ is a renovated firehouse? All sorts of room for customization with this character!
  16. Interesting concept. I would worry about taking such extreme trade-offs with such a low-PL character. Adds up. Adds up, all figured properly. All fine. Need to note which skills she has Mastery with. Why does she have so much Know/Theology & Philosophy? She's more conversant on ancient cults than what's going on in the news right now. And why is Ancient Greek her native language? That's a lot of Fearsome Presence, but I guess it fits with the Badass Normal vibe. You might want to think about dropping Improved Trip and getting Startle or Fast Feint instead. If she's dependent on Sneak Attack to hit damage caps, you should really have three or four ways to get enemies flat-footed. To make the weapon collapsible, you need to put Subtle on the Container, not on the Damage effect. Subtle on the Damage effect means that you don't notice when you're hurt.

  18. Well Ironclad's tech based, of course. I don't know how many heroes you want from the Lab, though.

Well this fellow can't make any more of them, but he can sure make them last longer. This is a normal (well, genius) guy who has built a battlesuit in the basement of his clock repair shop that can, conveniently enough, control another fundamental constant of the universe: time! What can he do with it? Well besides making perfect coffee every damn time he can slow a person down, fatigue them by making them live through an entire day in a few seconds, or age parts of their body far beyond the rest of it. He has most of the normal weaknesses of a battlesuit, namely being reliant on the suit itself to do much of anything 'super' as well as very low exotic saves (except for Reflex, of course). He still has to put the suit on, and while it lets him take much more of a beating than he could otherwise he's hardly bulletproof. On the other hand he can survive in just about the most inclement environments, and the Quickness means he can make more use out of Inventor and his Knowledge skills than you might expect! The original idea for this build was a time-controller-turned-speedster, a la the now defunct Zephyr, and it would still be possible to reach that would a little rebuilding. Remove the weird time attacks and give the suit Enhanced Strength + Autofire, maybe Shield instead of so much Protection for a Defense-shifted character. If you go that route I would recommend boosting the Power Reserve as the character gains PP or even boosting the Quickness directly. Nothing quite says 'speedster' quite like reading a library as a full-round action!
  21. "Of course they can react faster than a human," Jessica said, leaning in close to examine some of the visible gearing. "They're machines, their reaction time is always going to be better. That's why we use machines. Tell me, how good is their manual dexterity? And can they be operated via telepresence?" Remote surgery was one of the dozen or so procedures the Lab was testing and helping to refine, but the machines involved were either waldo units adapted from industry or spider-limbed creations straight out of a science-fiction story. Combining a caretaker unit with a telepresence surgical unit would save money and make sure that it could be used around the clock.
  22. Ironclad turned to a nearby wall and projected a hologram of the map there, marking their current location with a glowing red beacon. "Whoever made this was insane," she said. "Or at least, I can't see any reason to the design. A full kilometre between levels? What are they trying to stop?" She shook her head and leaned in closer, peering at the map. "As near as I can tell, whatever we're looking for is at the center, but I can't see any way around those Terminus energy fields. Is there any chance you could deflect them or absorb them, Supercape?"
  23. "Yeah..." Brian fell silent as he stripped another grass stem and chewed on it for a solid minute, thoughts turning over in his head. "It's just a couple of months, and then I'm out of Claremont forever. Got to go to college, become an adult, all that jazz." He bit the grass in half and spat the bits out. "Dammit. This is getting downright depressing." He stripped off his shirt and stepped out of his shoes, then left his pants by the tent. Clad only in his boxers he took a running leap and dove into the lake, disappearing beneath the surface with a splash. After a moment he poked his head up above the surface and shook water out of his eyes. "Brr! Come on in, Morgan, the water's fine!"
  24. Brian stuck his tongue out at Morgan. "I've got to show you more Guy Ritchie, man. You might like Brad Pitt in that one, actually." He fell quiet as he fitted metal poles together and then stretched canvas over them. In a few minutes he had the tent up, a big enough space for both him and Morgan to lay in, tough not quite enough for their gear. He set up the packs outside the tent flap and sat down a ways back from the lake side, legs out in front of him. He picked up a piece of grass and stripped it, watching the fish lines. "I don't know, man. I think she wants to travel after graduation, maybe even go back to helping in South America, but I don't want to leave Freedom City. Not that I even know what I want to study in college." He scowled and tossed the grass stem away. "What about you and Vic? Going back to Boston over the summer?"
