  1. Good enough for me. That Drain is pretty hefty, but the character's certainly paid for it and it fits the theme. APPROVED
  2. Action 1 on the Mind Reading would drop it down to Move/Standard, rather than Standard/Move. I'm not certain what Radius is going to do for a touch-range Detect, in Detect Minds. Did you intend to have Ranged there? On a related note, what's the distinction between his Detect Thoughts and Detect Minds? Mental Awareness, if I'm reading your intent right, should be Psionic Awareness (which is the Common descriptor, per the descriptor frequency list). We snuck the distinction in a while ago to quell confusion over the difference between +Mental powers vs. psychic powers, among other things.
  3. For the sake of writing Mara's perspective on the static, is is psionic or technological? She has a half-immunity to the former and her suit can pick up radio from the latter, so I'm trying to get a handle on how she'd perceive it.
  4. Tiamat closes to melee range and makes with the mace. Melee Attack Roll vs. Green God (mace) (1d20 + 6=12) I'm assuming he's either basically an object or immobile (5 defense, +4 to hit if adjacent), but that's a pretty broad assumption and let me know if it's wrong. DC25 Tou if it hits.
  5. Toughness Saves vs. Green God's Area Attack, DC28 (GK +15, T +7) (1d20 + 15=16, 1d20 + 7=27) I don't...what? what Invisible Castle has a sense of humor. Okay. GK spends a hero point to reroll his: Toughness Save REROLL vs. Green God's Area Attack, DC28 (1d20 + 15=26) ....and IC gives him the worst possible result it can. Okay, sure. GK and Tiamat both take a bruise.
  6. I'm away from home at the moment, but when I get back I'll see what I can do about putting a copy of the pre-11 player somewhere. EDIT: Home now. But since I'm going to have to upload the player now, too, I may as well package everything together. Working on it....
  7. Gaian Knight stood like a statue on his platform, his flashlight's beam still resting on the Green God as the others assaulted him, providing light for their attacks. Only once they were done, when the proverbial dust cleared and their adversary had proven himself surprisingly durable, did he change. Two new lights lit up above his flashlight - Gaian Knight's eyes glowed clear through his goggles as the cavern walls themselves took up arms against the would-be god, stones raining in on him from all sides.
  8. GK falls back on the good ol' autofire blast, since snare's unlikely do do much good: Ranged Attack Roll vs. Green God (autofire blast) (1d20 + 12=20) DC27 Toughness, +1 for every 2 the roll exceeded Green's defense, up to DC32.
  9. "Congratulations," Mara echoed, her eyebrows lost somewhere up in her hairline as she looked at the couple with surprise and appreciation. "Unexpected. Ulterior motive for camping trip?" She flicked her multi-tool closed, turning her head to the side and looking vacant for a moment. "....good location, though. Meaningful. Quiet. Shows thought and consideration." She leaned the stick against her leg, giving the swordsman a thumbs-up with her free hand. "Good job." She paused again, this time glancing toward Min. "You know if you marry him you'll be stuck with him, right? Years and years of bad jokes."

    Player Away Thread

I'll be travelling and then attending a wedding this weekend; I'll be taking my laptop and I'll certainly try to be available, but I may not be in chat much.
  11. Our sincere apologies for taking so long to review this; hero sheets always get priority, so NPC sheets can sit gathering dust for a little bit sometimes. Fluff Looks like the forums or your text editor ate some of your power description. Combat Improved Initiative grants a +4 bonus; thus, Dex +5 and Imp. Init. 2 gives a final init bonus of +13, not +10. I calculate Knockback as -1/-7; not sure where your extra -1/-1 is coming from, though I could be missing something. Skills Stealth 14, with +5 Dex, is a total bonus of 19, not 20. Equipment Looks like you're mixing-and-matching the Vehicle and HQ rules. Vehicles have Defense and Strength, but a Huge vehicle is only 16-32ft. HQs are lager (Huge: 500-1000ft), but have no Defense or Strength. Powers Suffocation (Alien Atmospheres). I like it. Flight 5 costs 10pp, not 8pp. Similarly, Space Travel 4 costs 4pp, not 3pp (though since you listed 5c, which is correct for 3 ranks, I suspect this is a notation error). I think you meant Duration (Sustained), not Action (Sustained), on your Super-Strength AP. I'd probably weigh Energy-to-Energy as a 5pp/rank Transform - it's very, very broad, but it isn't quite anything-to-anything. You either don't need that flaw to fit your 25pp budget, or you have room for an extra.
  12. Fluff Looks like you're missing a word or two here: "While Cobweb she appears as a towering, sinister figure with leathery brown skin, with a padded ." Combat Cobweb's Defense notes +6 Dodge Focus, but I don't see that in the Feat list. Saves We have a house rule on Defensive Roll that gives you +2 Tou/rank, rather than +1, because +1 is silly. Thus, you only need two ranks of Defensive Roll to get +4 Tou. Feats I count only 22 feats (or 28, if we count the missing Dodge Focus). Powers A rank 6 container offers 30pp, not 29. Incindiary Web is missing a pp total. Nauseate is a 2pp/rank power - thus, Nauseate 6 costs 12pp, not 6pp. Speed 3 costs 3pp, not 2pp, though this AP slot still remains within its budget. I count 11 ranks of Super-Senses: Analytical (All Visual) 2, Penetrates Concealment 4, Radius (All Visual) 2, Rapid 1, Infravision 1, Track 1. This still keeps you within budget on your device, though, so I suspect it's a notation error. I count 44pp of powers (30+12+2), not 42. This is also off in the final pp tally at the bottom; the final tally isn't as important for villains (who are jerks and don't actually have to earn that pp), but it should still be kept accurate to help people gauge difficulty.
  13. SMOKE Math math math math math math math Combat With Dex +4, Smoke's Init bonus is also +4. Base Attack +7 costs 14pp, not 12pp. With a +10 melee attack bonus and +3 STR bonus, Smoke's grapple bonus is +13, not +16. Please note Smoke's flat-footed defense. Smoke's knockback is -3/-1, given that some of his toughness is lost when flat-footed. Saves 4+4+4=12, not 11. Please note Toughness as "+7/+3 (flat footed)", as most of the Toughness is coming from Defensive Roll. Powers Strike 5 is a lot to justify with just a 'training' descriptor. With a +3 Strength bonus, you're establishing that this guy - by sheer training - can throw a DC23 punch. That's more powerful than being shot with an assault rifle, and coming awfully close to being hit with a rocket launcher. One rank of Immunity buys protection against a specific type of suffocation - drowning, or being trapped underground, or the like. General suffocation immunity costs two ranks. Similarly, pleas specify that the character is immune to Environment (Heat), not Heat as a general power descriptor. Obscure 8 for Visual (2pp/rank) and Olfactory (1pp/rank), with a -1pp/rank flaw, would cost 16pp, not 8pp. As such, your Alternate Form is over-budget. Fire Combat Please note Fire's flat-footed defense. Skills I count 54 ranks of skills, not 52. Powers I only count 21 ranks of Regeneration - Bruised/- (3), Staggered/1 round (4), Injured/1 round (4), Disabled/1 minute (5), Ability/1 minute (5); 3+4+4+5+5= 21. Immunity 5 would get you Immunity (Fire Damage), not Immunity (Fire Effects). Please note the pp totals of each power in the Superheated Body array. Note that while I'm willing to let a Damage effect with Sustained duration slide by on a villain sheet, it would probably not be acceptable for a hero sheet. This attack in general is kind of weird...the way you've built it, anyone who attacks this character unarmed takes damage based on her Strength. Why is that? Why does the strength of her muscles increase the damage of her super-heated body? Please note Ignite in its more base form, as it's an uncommon power: Damage 13 (Extras: Range 2 [Perception]; Feats: Reversible) [40pp] Note that this power both breaks this villain's caps, and exceeds the PP allowance from the array.
  14. Mara gave that question some serious thought, furrowing her brow as she mulled it over. "...didn't used to," she admitted, shrugging. "Just didn't seem likely? Wasn't in a good place to be adopting, obvious...logistical problems in the way of having a kid normally. Plus, kind of a lot of stuff hanging out in my system; clearing up over time, but...mmh. Not good for babies." She flicked her multi-tool open and closed a couple of times. "Now, though...maybe? I mean, not now now," the young woman quickly corrected, glancing up at Ellie and turning a little red. "But might have thought about it. A little. Has some appeal. Adoption or science or whatever."
  15. "Hahaha! Problems?" Tiamat taunted, flicking root dust and scraps off her shoulders. "It's okay, really - you're aged, and withered. It happens." She grinned in the dim light cast from Gaian Knight's flashlight, her face all flashing red eyes and far-too-sharp-for-human teeth. "You've been out of the sun too long, old man. You've gone moldy, like the basement houseplant that won't die or the gunk that grows on rocks in caverns. Aw, but don't fret." Her grin widened, as if such a thing were possible, and her voice carried an odd echo - like it was coming from something much larger than even the amazonian heroine. "I brought some light and warmth for ya." Tiamat's jaw hinged back and the darkness of their small cavern vanished before the light of a raging cone of fire.
  16. Well, probably not a good idea to go full-on dragon (unless the cavern's bigger than I'm thinking it is), but hey, plants. She has a (woefully under-PL'd) answer for plants. Tiamat sends some nice fire breath the Green God's way. DC18 Reflex (assuming he can pull reflex saves in his current state), DC23 Tou vs. fire. Since she isn't going anywhere at the moment, she'll also try to demoralize as a move action: Intimidate Check vs. Green God (demoralize, -5/Move Action) (1d20 + 18 - 5=15) Final check of 15? That's less than your bonus, Tiamat! Oh, so sad. I'll leave that be, though; a few rag-tag heroes underground probably don't mean much to someone with a god complex. And hey, maybe he'll bomb his save.

    Rook (v2)

Mechanics review: Combat With a melee attack bonus of +12 and a STR bonus of +4, that's a Grapple bonus of +16, not +14. Your Knockback bonus is (imp. toughness) + (1/2 non-imp toughness) + (misc modifiers); this character's knockback would be -1/-5 (reflecting the difference between in- and out-of-costume). Feats I count 20pp of feats, not 19. A character of average wealth or better doesn't need to purchase a phone with equipment points; a character of this level of wealth wouldn't have to justify a smartphone, either. We have house-ruled communicators (though I realize this was done after your sheet was made); you will probably want to review the house rule thread and use the points you're spending here on your phone and 1ep communicator to buy a proper communication item. Even as-written, you're only spending 19ep out of your budget of 20ep. Powers Blast 8 with a single drawback costs 15pp, not 8pp. 25mph is really fast - it roughly meets the world run speed record. Total You have 19pp of skills, not 14. As previously mentioned, I count 20pp of feats. You have 29pp of powers (though your device is over-budget), not 30. Thus, your total is as follows: Abilities (28) + Combat (40) + Saving Throws (14) + Skills (19) + Feats (20) + Powers (29)=150/150 Power Points
  18. Complications Morph, by default, does not disguise scent. This isn't a complication - you wouldn't get a hero point for it - it's just the way the power works. It's a good thing to keep in mind, thematically, though. Comics have a long history of characters with sharp senses of smells sniffing out the shapeshifters. Combat Dex 20 + Improved Initiative 1 = 5 + 4 = Initiative +9, not +10. Dex 20 (Grappling Finesse) + Melee Attack +12 = 5 + 12 = Grappling +17, not +18. Skills Climb is Str-based; 2 ranks and a +3 Str bonus gets you +5, not +6. Powers Stun Baton: This device is over-budget; Strike 5 (+Mighty) + Stun 5 = 6 + 10 = 16pp, not 15pp.
  19. Character archived at player's request.
  20. GK: Reflex Saves vs. Area Snare, DC23 (halve), DC23/16 (avoid) (1d20 + 8=10, 1d20 + 8=21) Fail by 2. Tiamat: Reflex Saves vs. Area Snare, DC23 (halve), DC23/16 (avoid) (1d20 + 8=17, 1d20 + 8=11) Fail by 12.
  21. "Mmmh. Sorry, Eden," Mara said, looking down at the little creature - and, apparently, the sentiment was genuine. "And...thank you," she said to Ellie, sneaking her head around for a quick kiss. "Means a lot. Looking forward to seeing what she wants to be, though. It's...a very parental urge? Don't know. Weird to think about." She frowned again as she settled back, though it was a lot less reproachful and a lot more good-natured. "Should at least talk like a normal person, though. Yolanda, I mean. She'll have trouble in school otherwise."
  22. "Do better with them once they can talk," Mara repeated, though the amusement in her voice died out a little at the end. She caught her own bad habit before she'd managed to hunch in on herself too much, frowning and straightening back out. "She...could probably pick a better idol," she admitted, frowning. "Kind of a grumpy sarcastic crazy person sometimes. Hoping she doesn't pick that up. But she's a good kid - deserves good things. Will always do what I can to make sure she's okay. Kind of know what it's like to....mmh. It's the least I can do."
  23. "They're coming," Mara provided, looking up from her task. A couple sticks were already sharpened and resting up against a seat, the third in the inventor's hand and half-done. "Yolanda picked good sticks, because she is excellent. Haven't worked with wood much - not difficult to sharpen a stick, but kind of nice to work with simple materials. Kind of makes me want to build something with it, but not sure what; wood has odd material properties." There was a pause as she just frowned down at the stick for a moment, turning it in her hand for barely a second as her brain spun through half a dozen possible applications. She eventually shrugged, resting the incomplete primitive tool across her legs as she flicked her more complex metal one closed. "You're very good with her," she noted, tilting her head. "The baby, I mean. Babies in general, probably. Kind of envious. I...do better with them once they can talk."
  24. "If it's close enough to dirt, I might be able to help reach it," Gaian Knight agreed, frowning downward. "I'm on board for trying to soothe it back to sleep, or talk to it if it's awake enough and intelligent. If we do put it back to sleep, though, it's going to be a temporary solution - we're going to need something long-term, eventually. Something that isn't an execution," he added, frowning up at Frost. "I won't be part of that as anything but an absolute last option. And I mean last option - last-few-seconds-before-we-face-an-unstoppable-wave-that-kills-hundreds option. I'm not budging on that."
