  1. "Knowing you shouldn't blame yourself and not blaming yourself are not the same thing," Mara pointed out - her tone wasn't reproachful, just the sympathetic voice of experience. "I...don't have useful advice, I think. Not very good at it. But will always be here if you need anything." She paused for a beat, blinking once as her reply and the topic of conversation collided in her head. "....unless I get kidnapped by aliens. Then you have to take a ship out to find me," she insisted, gesturing at Ellie with a stick.

The stream of earth that Gaian Knight had sent upwards hung still in the air as wind and fire and death and claw raged below; its master stood with his coat blowing in the wind, one hand still raised as goggled eyes scanned across the combatants. He was patient, if nothing else - but when a target presented itself the hand came down, a rain of rocks following the gesture and crashing down into one of the nabbed fliers. "You do look pretty young," Gaian Knight pointed out, already shifting his attention back across the battle as his attack curved away before it could hit the ground from which it came. "'Kidnapping' is probably appropriate."

AoEs don't seem to work as well as expected! Time for another straight-up attack. GK attacks this one with an autofire blast: 14 - Tzitzimitl x1 - Staggered, Grappled Attack Roll for Autofire Blast: 29 DC27 Toughness Save, +1 per 2 that the attack roll exceeds defense, max +5. Hooray grappled targets!

21 The dragon takes a bruise! EDIT: Forgot the Inspire, because I'm a tired, tired fool. 26, total; the dragon makes the save.

Tiamat shook off her attackers like a great beast beset by rats and surged forward on leathery wings, banking sharply around as soon as she had distance from the offending, if comparatively undersized, claws and teeth. This, however, was no retreat. The dragon's chest visibly expanded as she turned her head back around toward her enemies; jaws filled with countless pointed teeth opened wide to release a torrent of brilliant fire, a roaring cone of immolation that was, unfortunately, somewhat hampered by the raging winds.

Four baddies grouped up right in melee range! Tiamat breaks way from her little air brawl, turns around, and fire breaths the lot of them. General area cone attack; DC21 reflex, DC26/DC20 Toughness vs. fire.
  7. Mara could also stunt Immunity 5 (Falling Damage; +Area, +Affects Others, +Affects Objects (if necessary), +Progression [Area]); that way as long as Fenris can redirect them she can keep them and the craft from going squish.

Gaian Knight swept out an arm; rather than his own stones moving, however, it was that cracked open and hurled a stream of blunt projectiles straight up into one of the tzitzimimeh plaguing Tiamat. It wasn't the best hit, but at this angle and this close to an ally it was more than he'd hoped for. "Really hoping those vines of yours hold, Fleur," he admitted, casting his goggled gaze toward the acid-eaten plants. "I replace and repair this coat enough as it is. Also, I'd be pretty pleased if we didn't die today."
  9. "I'd say to hold on, but, well, there isn't a lot to hold on to," Gaian Knight apologized. It soon became clear why: the platform the group was riding fell out of the sky, dropping toward the ground at an alarming - if technically safe - speed, coming to rest only as it touched the ground. The geokinetic hero immediately spread his feet, centering himself and trying to concentrate less on the possibility of being eaten and more on keeping other people from the same. As a soft golden glow built up where his boots touched stone, the edges of their platform began to warp and twist and grow into new and more protective shapes....
  10. Move Action: Fly the platform down to the ground. Standard Action: Start a full-round Create Object to create cover for the folks on the platform.

GK's going to go ahead and attack...well, as many of them as he can safely fit in fifty-five connected 5' cubes. How many is that? I don't know! Probably a bunch. But not anyone engaged in melee, so Tiamat's going to have to fend for herself a bit at the very least. It's a General, Shapeable AoE coming straight up out of the ground with a focus on the snared baddies. DC21 Reflex for half, DC26/DC20 Toughness. [EDIT] NOPE! Nope, that is a stupid idea and my brain is stupid for suggesting it. Also it causes uncomfortable questions about area-attacking helpless, snared enemies. Instead he is going to straight-up attack one of the ones trying to take a chunk out of Tiamat's hide. Ranged Attack Roll vs. Unbound Tzitzimimeh A (autofire blast) (1d20 + 12=26) DC27 Toughness, +1 per 2 the attack exceeded its defense by.

Tiamat grinned, her body disappearing in a wash of fire - the supernatural blaze seemed to devour the woman before exploding outward, thinning away to reveal her true form in all its t-rex-sized, crimson-scaled glory. She launched off the ground with one sweep of mighty wings, roaring in defiance and a powerful clawed hand down onto one of the airborne tzitzimimeh lucky enough to have escaped Fleur's vines. "They've made their choice," the fearsome storybook creature rumbled, tail lashing behind her as she bared her teeth at the snake women. "Perhaps after this they shall learn to choose better masters!"

Move Action: Dragon time! Standard Action: Charge the nearest of the airborne Tzitzimimeh. Melee Attack Roll vs. Tzitzmimeh (Charge +2) (1d20 + 7 + 2=10) ....maaaan. Don't let the mammals show you up, Tiamat! Melee Attack REROLL vs. Tzitzmimeh (Charge +2) (1d20 + 7 + 2=22) There we go. DC30 Toughness save. Tiamat is at -2 defense until her next turn; GK is down one hero point, burned up to save his dragon's pride.
  15. "It flies like a stone," Gaian Knight quipped; bits of the oversized platform broke apart to form a ring around the group - protection or projectiles, it wasn't quite clear - as he tried to divide his attention between the Simurgh and finding a place to set down. "I'll do what I can, but with it so big and with so many people on board it isn't going to be that agile in the air. She, on the other hand...." He trailed off, jerking a thumb in Tiamat's direction. The redhead was grinning and, utterly without warning, launched herself off the back of the platform. Yet there was no crash, no body left behind on the ground. Instead there was a rush like fire and the beat of leathery wings before an honest-to-goodness dragon soared out ahead of them from under their conveyance.
  16. Initiative Rolls, Gaian Knight & Tiamat (1d20 + 0=18, 1d20 + 1=11) GK: 18 Tiamat: 11 Tiamat's readied action kicks in (having confirmed with TT that it was still okay); she immediately drops off the platform and goes full dragon.
