Dragonfly stopped short, suspended in mid-air as she watched Ellie...as....what? no - not - can't - wouldn't - but - what? - wouldn't ever but has been acting odd lately but not that odd but she wouldn't but she did and I don't I can't whatdidshewhywouldwhatno The heroine's wings actually flickered for a moment as her concentration briefly broke, but her attention was purely on Jill O'Cure, her whole body slack like a puppet that only had one string left to hold it up. [bg=#555555]"E--Jill....what...why...."[/bg] She turned to look at the fallen would-be villain before turning her head back toward her girlfriend with an unseen expression of empty confusion. [bg=#555555]"What did you do...?"[/bg]

"A what!?" Mara's voice, ever so briefly, sounded like it was coming from every speaker in her office...and the phone itself. She could see it, though: the lens, a sufficient power source, regulators, amplifiers, Dawes Tech-grade lasers....the fact that it was plausible didn't make her any less unhappy. If anything, it made her less happy still. One of her employees chose that moment to enter her office to ask her for something, took one look at her, and turned right back around; the young woman's face said it all, and the fact that every screen in the room with her was raw, red static - like her brain was trying to do something, anything with the anger - wasn't helping at all. "No. Not going to happen. Not now, not ever."

"Thanks," Gaian Knight said, slumping back into a chair that pulled itself together just in time to catch him. He looked tired, a little nauseous, and a whole lot worse for wear, but he was alive, and not too seriously-injured, and some days that counted for a lot. "I'm not sure, to be honest, but there has to be someone who can un...whatever...him. And fix him up, while they're at it...Daedalus, maybe, or that Lab place." He leaned back a bit, trying to get his head back together as the adrenaline wore off. Why do the ones with claws always have something nasty in them? Is it some kind of package deal? "We also need to figure out what we can do about...uh -" - he gestured at the still-rock-entombed coffins - "- those. I guess the captain might know better about them than we do, but we can't just leave them here to spew more sickness into the air next time some idiot comes in here with a pickaxe. Or, heaven forbid, if there are more Grue hiding out there somewhere."

"Thank you for the warning, sorry you got attacked. Not too worried, though. Research core is isolated from outside systems - no internet, no wireless. Excellent physical security. Suppose you could sneak a tap into one of the terminals, but I'd know about it as soon as I----" Mara cut off; in her office at HAX, behind her desk full of ignored paperwork, the young woman was staring at one of her walls as if she could see through it. On Jessica's end of the line there was almost a half-minute of silence...and then cursing - a master's class in four languages' worth of swear words. On her unknown thieves' end of their connection it was like the servers came alive, rising up like some malevolent intelligence to chase them back out of the HAX research servers and put an immediate end to any and all file transfers. With the advantage of her security protocols and intimate knowledge of her system, it took her less than a minute to rout them and and their hooks completely from her network...which, on top of the unknown time they'd already spent nosing around, was a minute too long. "....owe you an apology," the voice came back over the phone at long last. "Good timing - very good timing. They're...clever. Don't like it at all. Only got a couple project files, thankfully - nothing too bad. Small-scale gravity lens, next-generation energy regulators, amplifiers. Only really useful for research. Can't even make the lens bigger; ridiculous long-term power requirements."

So noted!

"Yes? Wh- no - don't - mmmgh. Just leave it - leave it on the desk, will get to it when I-- yes, I know. Go away. Sorry. Hello?" Most of Mara's greeting had been muffled, as she clearly addressed someone - or (from the sound of it) several someones - else, but eventually the background noise died away and her attention was back to the phone. "This is Mara." Even after using it in her company's name (admittedly more for the pun and to poke her father in the eye than anything else), she rarely used her last name - though the fact that Jessica had said volumes about the context of the call. "Kind of busy right now, but...your reputation is worth some time. More than. Though if you're trying to pitch a job, will have to have reception put you through to that team. Usually only review potential jobs once the spec is put together."

Let's see if my tired brain can do math today. My apologies for anything I miss or mis-interpret: Bloody Mess I suspect you have the Melee and Ranged attack bonuses backwards - 12pp is +6 base attack, and the Melee Focus 4 from feats would bring him up to +10 Melee, +6 Ranged. It's possible I'm missing something, but the Super-Strength calculation in the Boost looks off: 26 STR + Super-Strength 2 is Effective Str 36, not 50. Where's the phantom 14? Your Alternate Form's powers come out to 37pp, not 35pp. Looks like your final tally doesn't account for the Swimming power (and would come out to 34pp without it). It's also noted as a 25pp alternate form inside the spoiler box, rather than 35pp. Your Powers pp total contains a +4 on the end that I can't attribute to any of the powers listed. So there's either a 4pp power that's missing from the sheet, or you're paying 4pp for a power he doesn't have. The final pp total lists 12pp for Abilities, rather than 40pp. The final grand total appears to be correct at 180pp, however, barring the mystery 4pp from Powers. The Hound With +4 Toughness I believe his knockback is -2, not -1. Animal control is a base 2pp/rank power. With 5 ranks, one feat, +2pp/rank in extras, and -2pp/rank in flaws, that's an 11pp power, not 6pp. The Hound is over-budget: Totals: Abilities (26) + Combat (40) + Saving Throws (8) + Skills (20) + Feats (15) + Powers (23) - Drawbacks (0) = 132/125 Power Points

"I believe that once Ghost Girl is done speaking to the Canadians, we will be done." Wraith had returned to human form, and her disguise, looking no more comfortable in it than she had the first time around. She tugged at the material for the twentieth time, frowning at it. "It may be best to return home as soon as we can - the faster we are able to get Tronik and Ragnarok into good hands, the less likely it is that something may go wrong. I....I do not like leaving this place the way it is now, but I do not think we would be able to do much about it ourselves."

Gaian Knight continued to stand strong against his attackers, albeit increasingly less strong as time went by - even his coat was starting to take some abuse, cuts and small slashes appearing where one of his frenzied enemies had found purchase. It was with visible effort and no small concentration that he threw one hand into the air, a stream of stone coming down out of the wall behind him to drive into the most injured-looking of the Grue as his hand dragged forward through unseen resistance, as if it was his own fingers that moved the river of earth.

And that's one round since GK was Nauseated, if I'm not mistaken, so: Fortitude Save vs. Nausea, DC15 (recovery) (1d20 + 10=21) Hurrah!

[bg=#555555]"Already on my way."[/bg] And indeed she was - even before Jill's call had been redirected to her suit, Dragonfly was cutting a blue-tinted line through the sky on four blade-like wings of energy, headed straight for the West End. Not that she'd been displeased to get a call from her significant other. [bg=#555555]"Heard the news, thought it was worth investigating. Save me a piece - want to know where he got the suit. Trace it back, find the seller. Encourage them to stop. Not fond of rogue machines causing trouble in my parts of the city."[/bg]

The whole 'hitting multiple enemies' thing doesn't seem to be working out so well! GK will focus fire a bit. Also, he'll throw an extra condition on himself by using extra effort, because he's gotta complete the collection. GK surges for a standard action: Ranged Attack Roll vs. Grue 1 (autofire blast) (1d20 + 12=24) I believe that should hit, and since he isn't technically sickened, no penalty! Woo! DC27 Toughness save, +1 for every 2 his attack exceeded defense, to a max of DC33.

Toughness Saves vs. Grue Attacks, 2xDC23, 1xDC28 (1d20 + 15 - 2=25, 1d20 + 15 - 2=22, 1d20 + 15 - 2=27) MOAR BRUISE! That is very, very like GK. Success, fail by 1, fail by 1 puts him at 4xBruised. Fortitude Saves vs. Grue Nauseate Attacks, 2xDC15, 1xDC20 (1d20 + 10=29, 1d20 + 10=20, 1d20 + 10=14) Success, success, fail by 6. You would roll in that order, GK. He's is Nauseated, then - move actions only.
-
"I'm really hoping that made sense to one of you," Gaian Knight called out from behind the cultists, glancing over to the mechanical captain with no small concern. More concern than he was showing for his own plight, certainly: though the Grue continued to wear at him, he was looking significantly less green around the gills and and was standing against their combined assault like...well, like a rock, though he didn't seem to have much of a chance to counter-attack. "I'd sure sleep better at night knowing that I didn't make a little girl cry."
-
Knowledge (Technology) Roll, DC20 (untrained) (1d20 + 2=14) Welp, worth a try. GK's dazed this round, so does nothing of OOC significance.
-
Right, then: Save for the nauseate he currently has: Fortitude Save vs. Nauseate, DC15 (+1 previous failed save) (1d20 + 10 + 1=20) Hurrah! Saves for the damage attacks: Toughness Saves vs. Grue Attacks, DC23 (-1 bruise) (1d20 + 15 - 1=28, 1d20 + 15 - 1=30, 1d20 + 15 - 1=28, 1d20 + 15 - 1=17) Somewhat less hurrah. Save, save, save, fail by 6. Dazed+Bruised. Saves for the nauseate attacks: Fortitude Saves vs. Grue Nauseate Attacks, DC15 (1d20 + 10=26, 1d20 + 10=15, 1d20 + 10=27, 1d20 + 10=21) Whee!
-
"Not going to happen," Gaian Knight countered, weathering the combined attacks of the Grue surprisingly well...albeit not perfectly. Though he looked no less ill (for better and for worse), the hero seemed more than capable of shrugging off the worst his foes could offer. Unfortunately, his response was similarly ineffective - his nausea and the close proximity of his targets was enough to throw off his aim, his volley of stones not connecting enough to matter. "You realize that even if you kill me, that rock isn't moving, right? It's rock, not-- oh, why do I even bother...."
-
Moar autofire! All the autofire! GK holds position and attacks Grue 1, 2, and 3. Ranged Attack Rolls vs. Grue 1, 2, 3 (autofire blast; -3 autofire multi-target penalty, +2 All-Out Attack, -2 Sickened) (1d20 + 12 -3 + 2 - 2=16, 1d20 + 12 -3 + 2 - 2=16, 1d20 + 12 -3 + 2 - 2=13) ....well, that could have gone better. Not sure any of those hit, but I'll wait for confirmation.
-
Wraith hummed to herself, clearly pleased with her 'hunting' of the Nazis - with how the fight had turned out in general! - but recognizing that there were far more important things at hand. "If you can be ready to contain any accidents or leaks, I believe Ghost Girl and I would be best for the actual moving of the canisters. I very much doubt it can harm either of us. Perhaps the Wonderbus has somewhere that dangerous chemicals and the like can be placed? This seems like something it would make sense for a vehicle like it to have." She blinked her three eyes as something occurred to her, and sounded awfully amused for a moment. "...for a certain kind of 'chemicals', perhaps, anyway."

Toughness Saves vs. Grue Attacks, DC23 (1d20 + 15=28, 1d20 + 15=29, 1d20 + 15=28, 1d20 + 15=22) One bruise! Fortitude Saves vs. Grue Nauseate Attacks, DC15 (1d20 + 10=27, 1d20 + 10=27, 1d20 + 10=18, 1d20 + 10=11) One failure! Oh dear. In the interests of not stacking him up to nauseated status, I'm going to spend GK's last HP to re-roll that - which means he's incapable of failing. But it also means he's out of HP! Hmm. And since it's been a round, I believe he gets to try to recover from his previous Sickened (though if the effect is actually +Poison, he'll have to re-save in a minute even if he recovers - dang Grue!). Fortitude Save vs. Nauseate (recovery), DC15 (+1, one previous failure) (1d20 + 10 + 1=12) ...ooooor not. GK takes a bruise, and remains Sickened.
