"Well, that depends, now," Tiamat pondered aloud in front of the sun, feigning great sympathy and concern. "Your cow caused a little trouble, and it's pretty impressive - or suspicious - that it made it here at all, don't you think? A lot of poor, innocent humans got hurt, and I might not even get my steak. But I suppose you're going to be really careful from now on, aren't you?" She hadn't really phrased that last part like a question, and at some point she'd started grinning - all teeth and superiority, the sort of thing that made hardened fairytale knights a little unsettled. Usually with good reason. "Besides, it might be useful to have someone in your position owe us a favor."

Toughness Saves vs. Grue, DC23 (1d20 + 15=28, 1d20 + 15=33) Significantly tougher than he looks! Fortitude Saves vs. Nauseate, DC15 (1d20 + 10=19, 1d20 + 10=14) Bah, with his fort save he would roll a 4! GK is unharmed but sickened.

Gaian Knight's earthen wall extended grasping tendrils in an attempt to tie down the android captain, but the distance was simply too great to grab him before the attack could be noticed and dodged; the hero made something akin to a growling noise. His distraction didn't help matters. He had as much of his attention as he thought he could safely spare directed up to the overhead beams, privately wincing the damage they'd taken. "If too many more shots like that end up hitting the room, I'm going to have to pay less attention to the people trying to kill us and more on keeping the building from crushing us all."
-
GK stays where he is, and tries to snare the android captain. Ranged Attack Roll vs. Android Captain (snare) (1d20 + 12=31) So close to crit! But alas, not quite, and I'm not going to spare the HP to make it one. DC22 reflex, I do believe.

Indira gave a short, quiet laugh despite herself at the Lor cuss - it had been so long since she'd heard one she just couldn't help it. She'd opted to preserve her dignity by simply shifting to a silver, genderless form before pulling on her assigned uniform, shifting back to looking human only when fully clothed; it had given her time to spare while others got changed. She was visibly uncomfortable for a bit, squirming now and again as she readjusted to wearing honest-to-goodness-cloth clothes, but apparently didn't think it was worth commenting on. Instead she turned her attention out the window, eyes filling with black as she got a good look at the flag in the sky. The symbol had less of an impact that it would on a native, but she sure understood the implication. She found she didn't like it much.

Eyes: Solid Black (alien), Dark Brown (human) Hair: None (Alien), very Dark Brown (human) Description: In her human guise, Indira Singh is a charming young lady with a pleasant face, dark eyes, and long dark brown hair; an athletic build and oddly fluid grace belie her true weight and the true nature that causes it. Indira favors slim, light clothing - more often than not she's making it herself with her shapeshifting, and heavy or complex layers are simply harder to create and maintain. As she truly is, Indira is a largish and usually humanoid being made of seamless silvery metal, polished-looking and warm to the touch. She has three eyes (the third of which is in the center of her 'forehead', vertically oriented), all of which are pure black; she has no mouth and (for that matter) no other visible orifices. Everything else is likely to change with mood and the needs of the moment, though the longer she's on Earth and in human form the more feminine the 'body' of her alien form tends to be at default. Rather absurdly, she often gives her alien form a small raised area around the eyes, like a (three-eyed) domino mask...because heroes wear masks, of course. Power Descriptions: See "Powers & Tactics" below. History: Crime has always spread to wherever there was room to hold it, and as the name would imply there's a lot of room in space. So much room, in fact, that crime can be had on a scale unheard of on any single planet - but the problem with large, sprawling criminal empires is that sometimes you need front businesses, bean counters, legitimate employees, paper trails...and sometimes someone you've 'encouraged' to work for you gets ahold of some terribly sensitive information, something they can take to the authorities to help hurt or bring down a sizeable piece of your empire. Unfortunately for them, this is probably enough to do some very painful damage but not enough to cripple or end your organization, so they're almost certain to have to be relocated somewhere where they won't be found by angry humanoids with squinty eyes and middle names like "Big Jim" or "the Claw". This was something of a problem for the Lor, once the case was finished and the testimony given. They had three members of a relatively rare race that needed to be hidden somewhere, away from the seeking eyes of a sprawling and angry criminal group suspected to have connections anywhere and everywhere worth having connections. Fortunately, there was a little planet that wasn't so developed that a few aliens couldn't remain fairly anonymous, but developed enough to be comfortable; a place with a good variety of distinct cultures and peoples, where the odd was almost common in places and where the Lor just so happened to have a few contacts in good standing. And so it was that Indira and her family came to Earth: first to India, where they established an identity for themselves, and then to Freedom City, where even the odd alien sighting would hopefully be lost in the unsettlingly high concentration of metahumans and mythological beings come to life. As an added bonus, Indira could be sent to a school where she wouldn't stand out quite so much.... Personality & Motivation: A kind but fierce soul, Indira fights crime mostly because she feels that she must. Not only is it an excellent excuse to let loose and - literally - be herself for a while, but in a world of fragile fleshy beings she's...well, not exactly the Centurion, but more equipped to deal with high crime than many. She can't sit idly by with that kind of strength while bad things happen around her. She's very curious about how humans live - human culture and interaction, local animals, and whatever else captures her fancy. By and large she tends to be a bit formal and straight-laced as a consequence of her upbringing, but that doesn't mean she's one to turn down an opportunity to cut loose if she can get away with it and it sounds like fun.... Powers & Tactics: Wraith is capable of shifting and reshaping her own body mass in response to what she needs to do and/or be for the task at hand: if she needs to run quickly she becomes sleek and quadrupedal, if she needs to fight her way through a sea of minions she sprouts long whip-like limbs tipped with hammers or scythe-like blades, and so on. She can similarly change her solidity, anywhere from a viscous but fluid metal to more solid than any Earthly steel. This ability isn't without limitations, however: bits of herself that are completely separated from her main mass are lost forever if not quickly recovered (and the separation is very painful), and her ability to change her color is extremely limited. A normal member of her race can only shift between metallic shades, and generally only in shades of silver or grey; a combination of Kinigosi and Lor technology has introduced a mutation that lets her kind assume a single humanoid form and to - with practice - change details of that form in the way of clothes and hairstyle and the like. The basic template, however, is relatively fixed and most shapeshifting will create obvious breaks in the facade (eg, she could elongate a limb, but it would be a normal human upper arm connected to a normal human lower arm by a long silver tentacle). Her people are born with castes, not genders (though the social importance of one's caste has decreased dramatically since less civilized times); Wraith would be considered a prime specimen of the warrior caste, highly fit with excellent shapeshifting control and good fighting instincts. That said, she has relatively little fighting training or experience, and relies heavily on those instincts to get her through combat. She tries diplomacy if it seems likely to work but otherwise hits hard, fast, and has a bad habit of depending on her considerable durability over complex tactics.

Complications: Alien: Alien. Not only does she often look and move like a sci-fi horror movie monster, but even her human guise is essentially skin-deep: if you cut her she bleeds silver, she weighs too much for her size, her inhumanity is immediately apparent to many super-senses, etc. Secret: Identity. Space-Fish Out of Space-Water: She's been on the planet for a little while already but is still an alien; humans are weird and their culture is weirder (but the TV's pretty neat), and she has to deal with being foreign both as an alien and as a recently-immigrated Indian. Witness Protection: This is why she and her family are on Earth to begin with; while most up in space aren't likely to be watching broadcasts from that little blue planet full of under-developed monkeys, there are people out there looking for her parents, and would find her terribly useful as leverage - this puts certain risks on whatever she does, and means there's probably an overworked Lor witsec officer somewhere who'd rather she kept a low profile. Your Car Was Delicious: While she can't starve she does require mass (in the form of metals) to replace any mass that is lost or too damaged to heal. Even before the recovery team showed up, Gaian Knight had set about fixing what he could and taking stock of what he couldn't - much of the torn up ground was put back into place, while other parts were actually cleared out to expose bits of broken infrastructure that would have to be repaired by someone with a better mind for civil engineering. Still, he wasn't so distracted by looking for underground voids shaped like broken pipes to not notice Tiamat's distraction. "'scuse me," she rumbled, catching his questioning look. "Gotta go talk to a wall. Just keep in mind that I never ate anything here." She padded over to the wall with surprising grace for a creature her size, taking a seat and curling her great tail around her legs. "Greetings," she replied, with an air of dignity that said there was nothing at all abnormal about a giant fire-breathing lizard talking to a painting. "I fought a monstrous cow, so the day wasn't a total loss, I suppose, and I might get to eat dragon-sized steaks for a few weeks yet. Yourself?"
-
"Can't promise that," Mara honestly replied, with a touch of amusement that didn't seem to be directed at Leonard in particular - or, at least, not in any mean-spirited way. "Sort of remember everything ever, and not very good at lying. Can promise to not bring it up if I don't have to, though. Not really in any position to judge anyone's social skills, anyway?" She glanced at him and shrugged. "Have met too many actual idiots. Pretty sure you're not one of them. I think."

"It is a good point. If clothes are supplied, I would not mind a set myself," Indira requested, rather unusually. "I do not know that I will be familiar enough with the style to make them myself after only a day; clothing is...relatively difficult, especially the coloring." Her eyes flickered over the town and surrounding woods, the alien trying to build the area up in her mind. If something went terribly wrong, that would be her second or third choice for a place to hold off pursuers...it might be worth ducking out to the nearby forest and trying some things out. "I will do what I can to prepare, even if I do not eat or sleep."

Wraith reacted to the frostbitten paralysis with more ire than actual concern; the part of her that was frozen simply pulled up into her main body where it didn't have to move, the rest of her forming into a slower, heavier creature with large, gnarled claws. One of those claws wasted no time in reaching through Ghost Girl, the over-sized metal hand closing over the end of Gregory's weapon and easily yanking it sideways out of his grip. "A warrior's test is how they fare with no weapons. Your gun is unusual, but it is a crutch - and I am hungry. How will you do without it, I wonder?"

[bg=#555555]"Technically have a permit for that,"[/bg] Dragonfly noted, her faceplate snapping shut only a few seconds after the klaxon sounded. No smartphone for her, though - little dancing lights were barely visible behind the lenses over her eyes as a nearby monitor rapidly cycled through the details of the alert. [bg=#555555]"Going up,"[/bg] she announced, four long, blade-like energy wings twisting into being behind her to put action to words - she was gone in a flash, her voice lingering on the room's speakers. [bg=#555555]"Will try to intercept upper team before they endanger anybody."[/bg]

"Don't really watch much tv either," Mara admitted. "Even sci-fi. Probably ironic? Kind of hard to watch. Shows either have...very bad science, or make me want to build things I probably shouldn't build. Or design." She frowned at that, the mention of space forcing her to fight down designs for faster-than-light craft she had no practical need for. She could always take Ellie for a joyride, but that seemed like a little bit...much. "But," she continued, "seem to have put effort into your costume? Should get recognized by people who've seen the show. Most important thing anyway."

Wraith was off like a shot, her human guise melting away with glee as she became a long-legged silver streak hurling across the ground so fast it was hard to track what shape she was in - something aerodynamic, with far more joints in her legs than normal and clawed feet that were doing minor damage to the ground she was running across. She didn't bother to stop when she hit the water's edge - her momentum carried her as she hurled herself into the air, body stretching into an elegant, graceful spiral of metal that barely managed to snag the ring before falling - significantly less gracefully, but with the gleeful laugh of an athlete who had just had a cast taken off - and sinking like a rock. There was silence on the comms for a few seconds before her humming voice broke through. "Got it."

"I...agree," Indira said, looking over the images with a very quiet anger. She'd known this was coming, of course - she'd even prepared for it, for all that this wasn't much warning. But now that the time was here, even if she was perfectly willing to join her friends, the prospect was daunting. "I understand that we are a...'strike team'?...and not an army, but we would be in their territory and on short notice, and very outnumbered. We would benefit a great deal from any advantage we can get."

"It's good to see people recovering," Gaian Knight agreed as he flew his platform back to join the others. "Good job, everyone. We'll still have to do something about the aurochs, though. Ah - preferably somewhere else," he added, looking thoughtfully at the awakening civilians. "We don't know what the range is on its...dairy-based mind-control." Tiamat had pushed away from the aurochs when Fleur had shouted, landing with at least some level of grace on the broken street where she was now busy cleaning her teeth and claws. "If it turns out to have been some mindless cow that got possessed or transformed, I could take care of it for you," she rumbled, grinning toothily. "I could even save you some. We could have a barbeque."
-
Gaian Knight couldn't help but wince in sympathy a bit as Tiamat bit into the cow - he'd never been on the receiving end of those teeth, but he'd seen them up close - though he did notice with some appreciation that she'd gone for the shoulder and not the neck. He'd have to think of some way to show his appreciation of that without somehow insulting her pride. For now, though, he swept his arms out, the broken ground under the cow's hooves forming giant earthen hands that wasted no time in grabbing hold, parts of the fore hands running up the creature's legs to form another pair of hands over its eyes. "Anyone else a little concerned by the 'we' in that boast? I am really hoping that was the royal 'we'!"

Ranged Attack Roll vs. Aurochs (snare) (1d20 + 12=15) :| I believe GK's at 4HP (base 3, +1 from the fiat'd daze), so I'll go ahead and reroll that. Ranged Attack REROLL vs. Aurochs (snare) (1d20 + 12=22) +10 is 32, but it's not a crit and it would have hit anyway, so. DC22 reflex on the snare. GK'll try to obscure vision, if he gets the full bound+helpless.
-
"It isn't a restraint. It's a garnish," Tiamat announced, a mighty sweep of her wings supplementing a fearsome pounce that launched her scaled body straight into the aurochs' side, where she clawed her way onto its back and bit into its shoulder, tail lashing back and forth to help her keep her balance. Given their relative sizes, the effect was rather like watching a cat assault a large dog...if the cat in question was nearly three times the size of a man at the shoulder and had a mouth full of broad, razor-sharp teeth.
-
Melee Attack Roll vs. Aurochs (tooth and claw!) (1d20 + 7=21) DC30 Tou. Tiamat grabbing onto the cow is raw descriptor - she's not going for a grapple, and in no way is trying to restrict its movement. Presumably it could shake her off without much effort.

"Didn't know there were county mechanical bull-riding competitions." Mara's tone wasn't judgmental - from the sound of her voice and the raised eyebrows appearing from above her sunglasses, she seemed genuinely appreciative of the accomplishment. Granted, her head was already off and designing a mechanical bull that could very effectively throw people off, so she wasn't entirely sure how difficult the real thing was (or wasn't). "Could just tell people we can't perform without the whole band. And bet on no one else showing up in those costumes." She gave Ellie a nudge back, feeling a little better. At the very least, if she did have to sing, it wouldn't be alone?

"I...don't sing," Mara added as she accompanied her girlfriend down the hall, ducking her head a little at the news that there was going to be karaoke - partly out of anticipation that they'd be prodded to join in, and partly out of anticipation of the sorts of things their ears might be subjected to. The young heroine had an unusually wide number of skills, but she was also pretty aware of her limits; singing was.... "Play instruments - strings: violin, upright bass. Working on guitar. Haven't done any singing."

Free action: Insubstantial > Snare, descriptors allowing. At the very least she can largely negate the effect of the Entangled. Move action: Shapeshift! Super-Strength 2 [4pp] Strike 5 (Feats: Mighty) [6pp] [4 + 6 = 10/10pp] Standard action: Disarm! Melee Attack Roll vs. Gregory (disarm; Accurate Attack +2/-2) (1d20 + 10 + 2=19) Pff, no. Melee Attack REROLL vs. Gregory (disarm; Accurate Attack +2/-2) (1d20 + 10 + 2=14) Eesh. +10 is 24, which should at least hit? Disarm's his Str check vs. her damage + super strength, so DC25 (base) - 2 (accurate attack) + 2 (super-strength) = DC25.

Mara flushed, the reminder that they were headed to a party full of strangers barely taking the edge off her kiss-induced cheer. "No," she admitted, pulling some hair back behind her ear. "Pretty nervous. But will be okay. And should probably leave before your friend thinks we're doing something we shouldn't. Or we prove her right," she added as an afterthought, snorting a little. "Will have to think harder next time I get you pants." She set her shoulders, straightened her hat, and slipped on her sunglasses. "Hit it."

"Just try not to burn anything!" Gaian Knight stopped his flight now that the cow - what had Fleur called it, an aurochs? - was sufficiently distracted. Hopefully Fleur had had time to get the prisoners to safety. "Except for the aurochs. You can burn that." Though, speaking of burning....much as the hero was loathe to leave the divine bovine wandering around any longer than absolutely necessary, he wasn't comfortable leaving Vector hurt and exposed. The ground under her feet shifted, gathering and twisting to form a curved wall and roof between the young heroine and her oversized enemy.
