GK doesn't want me to be a mechanically contributing player, because he's a jerk and a boy scout, so he's going to provide cover for the hurt and dazed Vector. Full-round action!

"Crazy ab people," Mara agreed sagely, nodding her head. "But probably for the best. If you're going to spend all night with an exposed stomach, might as well be an excellent one. Distract and shame your enemies." One hand went up to her neck at the eyewear inquiry, little blue lights just barely visible under her shirt collar as her choker lit up and folded two sets of sunglasses into being. "Was very tempted to do things to the sunglasses before coming here," the engineer admitted, handing a pair to Ellie. "Make it easier to see at night. But didn't end up having time. Will just have to settle for looking good."

Mara wasn't terribly subtle about checking out the fit of Ellie's pants (just to make sure she'd gotten them correct, naturally) as she finished buttoning up her shirt. "Best things are practical and functional," she agreed, shrugging on her jacket and starting in on her tie. "Besides, get to look awesome, and didn't have to risk freezing if it ended up cold. Always kind of feel bad for people in 'sexy' costumes. Lots of skin. No insulation. Know equations for heat transfer - not favorable." She packed her discarded clothing way into her messenger bag before pulling on her own fedora and smiling a bit. "Besides. Reusable. Probably not the tie, but kind of like the hats."

"Hahahahaha! Inferno?!" Tiamat had still been mopping up a couple of thralls when the aurochs appeared, but as it spoke she released an unfortunate civilian from a headlock and started laughing. "Don't start talking about fire, rib-eye. You're big and all, butcha aren't that big. You talk like you're hot stuff; I don't know what they've got where you come from...but here there be dragons." And then she exploded. The tall, muscular woman with the mace disappeared in a wash of flame, flesh twisting as she grew and grew and grew, until she wasn't a woman at all: she was a dragon, straight out of the storybooks, horns and wings and terrible claws. Even at her full size, as the fire dispersed and left behind deep crimson scales running charcoal along her underbelly, she wasn't quite as large as their ungulate enemy...but she was no less fearsome, flaring her wings and bellowing at the aurochs with a noise that was almost more felt than heard, threatening to rattle the already-strained windows out of their frames.

Move action: Dragon time! Standard action: Demoralize that cow! Intimidate Check vs. Aurochs (demoralize) (1d20 + 22=25) :| Why, Teagan? Why? Considering her bonus, though, I'll let that stand for now.
-
"Well, it was effective, at least...?" Gaian Knight looked out at the beast, and then back at the crowd of rescuees, and felt like swearing. "Maybe a little too effective. Fleur, if we get out of this and I ever tell you I'm going to try something stupid, smack me, okay? I'm going to try to draw its attention away from the jail - keep it from dropping the whole building on us." With that he stepped up onto a platform that hadn't existed a moment ago and was off out the door, rocketing sideways as fast as a rock could fly - which, thankfully, was at least moderately fast. He swept out a hand as he went, a collection of large debris and stone that he passed over leaping up to hurl at the bovine's tremendous hide. "Hey! I'm pretty sure the cow-judging contest isn't scheduled until later. Can't you just go chew your cud somewhere until we're ready for you?"
-
GK...goes...first? Does not compute! Move action: Fly! GK tries to put as much distance between himself and the jail as he can without getting any closer to the cow. Standard action: Throw a rock at it! Ranged Attack Roll vs. Big Bovine (autofire) (1d20 + 12=29) DC27 Toughness save, +1 for every 2 his attack roll exceeded the cow's defense, up to DC33.

"Not too hard," Mara admitted, quickly shucking her own clothes and pulling on one of the pairs of suit pants - which quickly turned out to be intended for Ellie, so she took them back off and playfully tossed them at the coltish girl's head. "Suits were easy - knew your size. Ties were harder, but not so bad. Hats were-" She blinked, snapping her fingers. "Hats," she announced, reaching up to where her choker rested at the base of her neck and pulling a pair of black fedoras out of nowhere. "Didn't want to crush them," the engineer explained, handing one Ellie's way. "Hats took some looking, but had plenty of time. Got a little lucky, found them online. Just had to remove feathers from one."

Part of that laughter was Mara's - she was trying very, very hard to keep a straight face, but the effort of it had pressed her mouth into a thin line that curled up at the sides and she couldn't quite keep the little tremors of suppressed laughter from shaking her shoulders. Still, laughing or no, as soon as the door was closed she turned around and pulled Ellie into a proper kiss. Not one likely to distract them from getting changed (they were in someone else's room, after all), but not one rendered chaste by being in public and making a statement. Then, the important business out of the way, she removed her bag and began pulling their costumes out. "Wonder if she's going to let you live that down."

Will Save vs. Paralyze, DC23 (1d20 + 9=14) I'm...just gonna have to reroll that, then! Will Save REROLL vs. Paralyze, DC23 (1d20 + 9=13) +10 is 23, which is JUST enough! Whew.

Gaian Knight's focus was still on the lesser grue when the android captain attacked; the assault on their young friend was enough of a distraction to spare his targets the full force of his earthen storm as his attention shifted from them, to Scraps, and over to the captains. "No." It wasn't a cry of horror or a question so much as a statement of something that simply wasn't going to happen. His stream of stone veered off, circling around behind him to stretch and multiply and flow until Fleur and her charges had disappeared behind a solid, floor-to-ceiling wall of stone. There was precisely one opening in the unadorned rock: it faced a blank wall, and was right behind Gaian Knight himself. "If you want to shoot someone, you're going to have to pick a target that'll hit back."

No, s'why he had to surge - GK's Create Object is a Full-Round Action.
-
D'oh, forgot that bit! 1, 2, 4, same as last round, since they're hurt already anyway.
-
More o' this, because why not: Ranged Attack Rolls vs. Three Grue (3-target autofire blast; -3 multi-target penalty, +2 All-Out Attack) (1d20 + 12 - 3 + 2=29, 1d20 + 12 - 3 + 2=16, 1d20 + 12 - 3 + 2=23) 's a hit, miss, hit, I believe; DC27 Tou saves for the ones hit. GK isn't keen on people taking shots at kids, though. He'll surge for another standard action, combining it with a move action for Create Object - making a wall between the assorted villains and the folks making their way toward the exit. So as not to block Fleur off completely, there's one doorway in it, right behind GK, off-set from the exit itself (so that Scraps isn't gonna take any more shots!).

"Cowgirl," Mara observed, as if it wasn't already easy enough to recognize. "Looks good. Like the boots, rope's nice. Useful, though probably not a concern in a costume. On the nose...don't know?" She glanced back at Ellie; the young genius hadn't made any attempt to move away, so she didn't have far to look. That made her rather happy, for some reason. "Might have fun playing up something you'd get teased for, otherwise? Don't know. ...anyone bugs you about it being too appropriate, might find a use for the rope, after all?"

"Can...try to scale sass down?" Mara offered, only half-joking as she furrowed her brow at that prospect. "Can at least watch what I say. Mostly. ....not promising anything if idiots try to mess with you. Clearly able to stand up for yourself, I mean, don't need my help - but makes me unhappy." She shrugged, turning against the wall to face Ellie. "But. For you, will keep my mouth shut. Will 'put a sock in it', if I have to. Literally. Pretty sure I have an extra pair in the bag or pocket storage."

"Would only run into security if I got caught," Mara protested with mock offense. "Don't know what they have for monitoring, but doubt it's that good. ....but...yes. 'Social'." The young engineer's tone was more minor nerves and resignation than true trepidation. "Should...probably do more of that too; work doesn't really count. Might not be great, but should be interesting - haven't really done normal parties. Best case, learn something. Meet people. Worst case, both decide it sucks and go do something better."

"Not actually sure who Thelma and Louise are," Mara admitted, standing back against the wall to take up as little of the hallway as possible. "Pop culture reference? TV or movie, maybe. ....assuming it's complimentary." She gave Ellie a questioning look with that, and shrugged. "She's nice. Your friend, I mean - I like her. Cheerful. Kind of...enthusiastic, but good to have met her." She tapped her finger on her bag for a couple seconds, and then ducked her head and looked grumpily sheepish. "Trying really hard not to talk to key card readers, test security. Kind of curious."

Initiative Rolls (1d20 + 0=18, 1d20 + 1=3) GK is feeling especially spry, and goes on 18. Tiamat is busy finishing up punchin' fools in the parkinglot, and goes on 3.

"Good." Mara's reply was immediate, without apology, and frankly rather proud. "It's what they get. Never understood 'the other cheek' thing - just gets you hit again. It's an invitation. Shouldn't...antagonize, but have to react appropriately. Just how the world works." She pondered for a moment, tapping a finger against the strap of her bag. "....kind of want to hear what she said, now," she admitted, the corner of her mouth tugging into the ghost of a grin. "Sounds very entertaining. Anything get recorded?"

"Is it?" Mara glanced curiously at Ellie, adjusting her costume-laden bag now that she had her arm back to do it with. That didn't seem like the Ellie she knew, but then.... "Guess I've never seen her when I'm not there?" There was a beat of silence as she caught up with her own musing. "Mmh! Guess that's...trivial? Kind of." She ducked her head a bit, pulling some hair back behind her ear to cover her embarrassment. "Know what I meant. Could visit here more often, maybe? Not far from HAX. Could give her - you - rides home, at very least, when you want one."

Yeah, out of reach of both GK and Tiamat.

"One of these days you've got to teach me how you do that," Gaian Knight said, giving an eye to Fleur's vines as they found far more success grabbing onto the grue captain than his own stone had. His appreciation of his friend's handiwork didn't give the cultists any respite, though. Even as he complimented Fleur de Joie's plant-manipulating prowess he swept his glowing hands back, the same storm of blunt shards that had previously eaten into their ranks spinning back around like some vengeful snake to make another pass.
-
Second verse, same as the first. Gabriel and Fleur seem to have the captain well in hand! Ranged Attack Rolls vs. Three Grue (3-target autofire blast; -3 multi-target penalty, +2 All-Out Attack) (1d20 + 12 - 3 + 2=20, 1d20 + 12 - 3 + 2=23, 1d20 + 12 - 3 + 2=29) Preferably aiming at 1, 2, and whoever's unlucky enough to be standing next to 1 and 2 - but if necessary he'll aim at whatever three are conveniently clustered. DC27 Tou saves all around, and GK's at -2 Defense until his next turn.
