Liz's drive check: 17, not astounding.
  2. Nocturne's Notice Check: 19 Her only super-sense is Gravity Awareness.
  3. "Gold," answered Natalia; the corresponding part of her gravity-defying dust pulsed as she clenched a fist, and her collected dirt and trash compacted itself into a rough but cohesive solid. She left it lying on the floor as she began to gather another. "Or silver," she amended, "or any other precious metal, but why settle?" Something that had probably once been respectable furniture, and could be again with some work, was starting to slide toward her little vortex; she poked it with a broom to keep it away while she moved past. "I can't quite self-harmonize and I'm afraid the only riddles and rhymes I know are Russian - and deeply inappropriate - so I think I'll pass on entertaining the group. If the people who built this place knew what they were doing, though, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a sound system built in - or just good acoustics from the pulpit. If it's music we're after, and nobody fully ruined it while making this mess."
  4. Masque (in the Kitchen, with Veronica Danger and Invisigirl) "Hey, Invisigirl! I'm Masque - that's with a q-u-e, to be fancy - and this is Veronica." Her mask was a friendly smile as she tipped her staff toward the resident Danger. "We definitely shouldn't let that think have your art supplies - it might paint something very dire! Or sharpen something down too far, to where you can't really grip it anymore? It's jus the worst." She turned a full circle, inspecting the kitchens with open curiosity. "Kitchens usually attach to dining, which usually attach to main hallways, yeah?" She glanced back at the others, her mask a simple question mark. "But this whole place is magic and probably doesn't make a lot of sense so unless you know how to get around Veronica, we should probably just start walking. If you do know, though, lead the way!"
  5. I still love this concept. Mostly just tiny math things: Double-check the Medicine skill bonus; I put it at +9, rather than +10, unless I've missed a bonus somewhere. I count 13 features in the spaceship, rather than the listed 12, unless one of them is a freebie or coming from elsewhere. For both the vehicle and the base form: Dynamic must be paid for any power in an array that needs to be a Dynamic Power (e.g., any power you want running simultaneously); for the Radio array, you'd need to buy it twice, once for the base power and once for the alternate, if you want to use them both at once. Dynamic's a jerk like that.
  6. Natalia crinkled her nose at the state of the place, an expression that only escalated to a full lip-curl when she poked her mop at some of the trash. "I withdraw my comment," she said, archly, discarding her mop for a broom. "If cleanliness is next to godliness then this is not any god's house anymore. Isn't this kind of thing supposed to be a punishment?" She tucked the broom under one arm long enough to pull out a pair of long black handkerchiefs, one of which she tied securely around her lower face and the other of which she sent floating in Neko's general direction. "Scrap fabric," she said, waving a hand; a low swirl of black and gold dust built up in front of her, nearby trash and dirt sliding toward it like it was sloughing downhill. "Old cloth. For breathing. Don't feel bad if it gets dirty while you're...eating birds, or whatever."

Elizabeth didn't know much about cars, but she knew staging - keep the props where they needed to be, keep the trap doors away from your feet until you needed to drop through them. She'd spent the wait helping get set up, making sure all the important equipment would be close at hand...including the batteries, which she immediately starting ferrying to hands qualified to install them. "We're doing well!" she chirped, adjusting her hat. "Y'know, mostly. I don't think Davyd likes my driving much, which is toooooo bad." She flashed him a friendly but unsympathetic grin. "More rocky terrain sounds good to me; the handling on sand's going to be awful for all of us, probably you most of all unless we get stuck."
  9. "Ooh, certainly! But only if I get a copy," sliding up to Set's other side for the picture; her mask was grinning again, though it was being far less manic about it. She pulled her hood back just far enough to keep it from obscuring the shot, white hair spilling out around her mask. It was a good look. "I think the mask remembers you," the young trickster said, low enough to not carry over the crowd. "You must have made an impression! I want to hear that story sometime." She laughed, adding, "If it helps, though, I don't think it carries any grudges. Everyone gets their one, you know?"

  11. "Oooh?" said Masque, turning to watch Set's entrance and costume and...deal. "She looks like trouble." The words might have sounded more sincere if her mask hadn't, the instant it was unseen, taken on a wide and cartoonish toothy grin. Liz waved her hand in front of it a few times, giving it just enough cover to return to normal passivity. This was going to be fun, and it would be more fun if she could hold her cards a little closer to her chest, or all the way up her sleeves. "It's kind of funny to see everyone just milling around while we wait, but it makes sense. Where's the fun in the end of the world if you can't have a little party first?"
  12. Natalia did not own clothes that were supposed to get dirty; she'd made do with some older dark jeans and an old shirt she'd bought - bought! - from a second-hand store just for this project. Whatever design it had once borne had long since faded into the black background, lost along with the sleeves she'd cut away before putting it on. The boots, at least, she'd had - she wasn't going to go walking around in condemned buildings without solid footwear. "Put Neko on a longboard," she said, leaning on a mop like the very idea of the church was exhausting. "With her sense of balance, she could dance on it while she rolls. I say that if God wants his house cleaned, God should clean it," she added, pushing her sunglasses up onto her forehead. "But nobody here's going to listen to me, God least of all, so the sooner we get started the sooner we'll be done."
  13. APPROVED!
  14. "I mean, as ready as I'm ever going to be," admitted Elizabeth Grey. Or, rather, admitted Masque - given the company they were likely to be keeping she'd gone for her full costume, white cloak and all, its hood framing the full mask that kept subtly changing its painted expression every time nobody was looking directly at it. She even had her crook-staff, though Veronica and Abby would know her well enough to guess that the worn, unfinished wood and cloth bindings were mostly just to keep her hands busy. Doing card tricks in front of a room full of actual magic people was probably some kind of faux pas. Would they be impressed? They probably wouldn't be impressed. Still, she rarely ran low on optimism and she wasn't going to start now, even as more people arrived. "....is that the Master Mage? Please tell me it is. Do you think she'd give me an autograph? Or, y'know, a picture. I'm not picky. It's a big night."

Natalia relaxed her power, black and gold dust settling and fading away into nothing without her to sustain it. She took a moment to look over Pan's creation with a proper critic's eye before responding. "It's arguably helpful," she said, "intrusive, distractingly garish, it's vainglorious, and it will be exceedingly annoying for whoever has to clean up after all this mess." The young heroine turned to leave the stage, patting Pan on the shoulder as she went. With her remaining good arm. "For you, I'm sure it's perfect. You're right, after all: I'm sure it will be much better for your story." She didn't bother taking the stairs off the stage; she simply hopped down, extending just enough power to fall in slow motion to the ground. "Crisis averted, then."

    The Third Act

"If I have the time," said Natalia, which meant 'yes'. She pushed her sunglasses back up. "Unpacking wouldn't be the worst idea, and I have a lot of it, even if I don't pull any projects out." Maybe she'd have time to track Ryder down, if she was efficient about it. That part was not for saying out loud. "You and I should talk, too," she added, pointing a finger Muirne's way. "Not now, but soon. One on one. We'll se ground rules, figure out allergies. It'll be great." She did not sound like she thought it would be great. She laid a hand on her luggage and picked it up like it weighed nothing, setting off toward her room. "Later."

    The Third Act

Natalia nodded to Muirne's roommate confirmation, but with so much other chatter going on she hadn't bothered with more than that; in fact, with so much ongoing chatter she'd been content to lean against her oversized luggage and watch the room. She should probably have just left. Was it weird to just hang out? She could stand to learn more about the new blood, but needed to not look like she was actively interested. That wouldn't do. She'd even put her sunglasses back on, the better to hide where she was looking. And yet she probably shouldn't have bothered - at Danica's entrance she had to at least slide them down her nose a little to get a better, and approving, look. "Danica," she said. "Looking good. I like the hair - a little loud, but it's a nice contrast. If you can't match your own colors, you can at least match your accessories, hm?"

    The Third Act

Nocturne Natalia pressed her lips together for a moment before, apparently, deciding that this was just how this year was going to go. "Well," she said, "then I suppose you own yourself. Phenomenal. Try to keep your fur to other things you own, hm?" She removed her sunglasses, carefully slipping them into one of her folded jacket's pockets in exchange for a small slip of paper. "Though unless you're in room....305," she added, gold irises skimming her notes, "I imagine that won't be hard. I'll just have to live in hope that my new roommate doesn't run a zoo...or a cat rescue."

    The Third Act

Nocturne "Tch. More animals," said Natalia, taking in the common room as she entered; she was wearing black slacks and a loose golden top, but the matching jacket was draped over a piece of luggage too large to be reasonably moved as easily as it was. She set the luggage down for a moment and it immediately slumped under weight it hadn't previously had. "I don't suppose anyone's figured out who owns them," she asked, looking down at the cats from behind her sunglasses. "I'd really prefer to not spend yet another year trying to get animal fur out of everything I own."
  22. Just a couple quick typos on Gawain; you've bought Con 16, and paid for Con 16, but you've noted the cost at 5pp. Down at the bottom, the wolf form's super-senses are listed at 1pp even though they cost (and you correctly paid) 4pp.

    Heavy Mettle

"Language, Cricket," chided Nocturne; with the threat passed she'd settled back down on the ground, dust and debris shifting slightly as she dropped her gravity bubble. She looked like she had a headache - though, she often did. She pointed at Eira without looking, adding, "And you are not in a position to recommend anyone else for repairs." She was not looking at Eira because she was looking up at the bandshell, flexing her hands as if they ached. They did ache. "I should be able to hold that up," she said, little wisps of black and gold dust tentatively circling her feet, "if anyone wants to secure our captive and make sure nobody's been left behind. With all this noise and panic I can't imagine emergency services aren't already on their way, police included."

    Heavy Mettle

"Not much flesh and bone in there," said Nocturne. She was gathering that odd dust again, arms low and wide as it coalesced into something like a claw. "Sea shanties and weak resolve, maybe." The claw wasn't fast but it was certain, leisurely flowing through the air to dig its points into the thing's back - each point an anchor, each anchor drawing gravity in and down to hurt the thing and hold it in place. Not for more than an instant, but sometimes an instant is all anyone needed. "Let's put it out of our misery."
