So it has. I have uploaded the file somewhere myself, and updated the link. If it disappears again, let me know and I'll see about other hosting, or about bribing Sorus to let us hide it on the forum server somewhere.

Tarrant took a cookie and nibbled on it while Stesha talked, but she clearly had his full attention. "It's a good thought - I'll certainly not open any of my gates until we get this sorted out. Do you know how long it's been happening?" He'd unconsciously put his free hand down on the hilt of his sword, trying to remember if he'd seen anything too out of the ordinary lately. "I guess it seems a little weird to me that this would just...I don't know, show up, all of a sudden?" he asked, looking back and forth between the others. "I'm hardly an expert on all things prion, but things seemed pretty stable for a while - unless it just randomly blew in on the wind, where did we get this fresh dose of plant-killing bioweapon from?"

With Sylph down, the only villain remaining seemed to be Granite...and Wraith, try as she might, was having an awfully hard time working up the motivation to really try to hurt him. He didn't seem like a bad sort, kind of, and she wasn't entirely sure what her new powers would do to a sculpture. Did shattered ice sculptures live through the experience? Instead she closed her eyes, trying to reach out and...talk? Listen? Mostly she just stood there for a moment looking a little frustrated before giving up and sighing. "How is it that you do the...mind-talking thing? This is all very confusing."

Wraith was almost starting to feel a little left out; not that she was any kind of glory hound, but the portals - not to mention the posturing - had put her in a mood to go hit something, and there wasn't a whole lot left to hit as the assembled superhumans picked their targets and attacked. But there was at least Nightmare Doom, unhurt and distracted, and that would have to do. Wraith ran low along the ground, one arm swinging around before she'd even arrived to crash against her enemy's side, followed a fraction of a moment later by a second that came right down onto her head. "You are very rapidly running out of allies," she observed. "I am not sure you thought this strategy all the way through."

Rather than hope the scent would lead her anywhere immediately interesting, Wraith set out to check the room...by climbing along the walls, her four legs apparently not finding the task any more difficult than going across the floor. It was admittedly mostly to keep her from disturbing too much of the room (as opposed to its occupants), but the unusual vantage point did turn up something interesting. She disappeared behind a curtain for a moment before pulling it aside to reveal a door, and through the door...mirrors? "There is a cage here that might serve to hold a creature whose sight petrifies," she reported, glancing back out through the doorway. "There is also...an egg, I believe. But I am not sure if it is a basilisk egg or some other type; I am not familiar enough with the species."

Mostly for my own tracking, don't rely on this if you're trying to figure out status in the future, because I guarantee none of it: Edge: Seized Initiative, 0 HP, bruised Sage: 32, 4 HP, bruised (+1 Midnight) (Inspired) Custos: 30, Wander: 25, 3 HP (+1 Midnight) (Inspired) (-2 Defense) Cobalt Templar, 19, 4 HP (Inspired) (-5 Defense) Midnight: 19, 5 HP (+1 Loyalty) (Inspired) Hellstorm: 15, unconscious Changeling: 15, 2 HP, bruised (Inspired) Nightmare Doom: 14 Wraith: 11, 4 HP (Inspired) Omnibeast: 11, unconscious Razorwhip: 11, unconscious Madrigal: 10, bruised x1, dazed Well, then. Just Nightmare Doom and Madrigal on their feet, and Wraith isn't going to interfere in Midnight's fight (unless he looks like he's actually in trouble), so I guess she'll tempt fate. Move action: close to melee range. Standard action: Punch Nightmare Doom in the face. With fist-hammers! Melee Attack Roll vs. Nightmare Doom (whip-club, Inspire +5) (1d20 + 10 + 5=19) Nope! Wraith has HP to spare at the moment, so HP reroll: Melee Attack REROLL vs. Nightmare Doom (whip-club, Inspire +5) (1d20 + 10 + 5=16) ...thanks for that. +10 that's 26, which should hit. DC25 toughness save. If Nightmare Doom is still standing, she'll surge for another attack: Melee Attack Roll vs. Nightmare Doom (whip-club, Inspire +5, SURGE) (1d20 + 10 + 5=24) If that's needed, it'll be another DC25 toughness.

"I'm never one to turn down a good cookie," Tarrant admitted; he'd strapped his sword to his belt on the way down, but in the warm weather he'd foregone his trusty coat and even his beloved goggles were down around his neck. "And it's no bother at all, really - doubly-so if it's something bad enough that even heading back to Prime is a risk. Even if it didn't directly concern us - which I gather it does? - it'd be the least we could do to help out. A gentleman shouldn't leave a lady looking...ah." He gestured - a little vaguely, but with a good-natured smile. "...frazzled. Are you alright?"
-
"Of course," came Tarrant's reply back over the radio. "I'll be right down." He paused for a moment as he set the radio back on the table, realizing he'd smeared clay all over it when he'd picked it up; 'developing situations' and pottery didn't really mix. He'd fix it later. For now the clay still all over his hands stripped away almost of its own accord, falling to the ground as he grabbed his sword from where it leaned against his chair and took a few calm steps right off the edge of one of the floating islands that made up his flying castle home. It was a long way down to the earth below but he didn't make it more than a couple feet before catching himself on a chunk of stone, making a beeline for Stesha's home.

"....really?" The silence had been eating at Mara's brain - not the quiet of the dark, but the silence, the sudden lack of 'talking' machines in her general area. Not that she could communicate anywhere near as well as she could remember from when she was young, but they were always there: her collar, computers, cell phones all humming in the back of her mind. The sudden lack of that white noise was digging at her already-frazzled nerves, and sticking her head into the bedroom to grouse at least gave her something to do. "Of course. Would be this kind of timing...." And then she saw Yolanda, wide-eyed and curled into a ball. She knew that face. She'd had that face. Her voice was a lot less terse as she made her way over. "Hey, look at me - nuh uh. Look at me," she gently insisted, putting a hand under Yolanda's chin to direct her attention as she crouched down. "You know me: worst liar in the world. Right? So listen. Going to be fine. You will, we will. All of us will. We've got a swordsman, a cop, a medic, a lizard-man, a really strong lady, a genius, and a scary pregnant woman. They've got darkness, and mean tricks. And we can take one of those away. I bet there are candles around - you and I can help look for them. Okay?"

Wraith blinked, her three black eyes focusing on nothing for a bit as she...well, it wasn't sniffing, exactly, what with the complete lack of a nose, but some other sense had clearly gotten her attention now that the fight was over. It was kind of all over the lobby now, and all over HER, which meant she could probably.... She dropped to the floor, arms becoming legs and legs gaining an extra joint as her body sprouted a thick tail and her neck grew a mane-like series of short, thin tendrils that waved in the air like they were tasting it. She shuffled back and forth for a moment before loping toward the elevator, head low to the ground. "Ah - I believe I can answer that last question, at the very least. The basilisk either took the elevator or climbed the shaft - I can very likely follow its trail back. The scent is...very distinctive."

Well, I'm not one to turn down a cue like that. Shapeshift: Leaping 2 (x5 [Running Long Jump: 75ft]) [2pp] Speed 1 (10mph / 100ft per Move Action) [1pp] Super-Movement 3 (Slithering, Wall-Crawling 2) [6pp] Super-Senses 1 (Tracking Scent [1/2 Speed]) [1pp] [2 + 1 + 6 + 1 = 10/10pp] Assuming the skill here is Notice, she's incapable of failing any DC of 15 or less, and base DC's ten. So off she goes.

Wraith wasn't really in a position to do anything fancy at the moment, but neither did she feel comfortable letting the thing go after Nick's apparent near-miss with the creature's eyes; even with the basilisk not concentrating on struggling free, she didn't want to risk letting go long enough to try to cover its head. Instead she put the squeeze on it, tightening her many metal limbs. "Do we kill it?" she asked, glancing at Nick. "I do not want to risk lethal force if it needs to be alive for us to save the others. Nor would I want to kill it if it is intelligent, or too rare - it would be a great shame to remove one of the only good creatures around."

D'oh. I'm an idiot, and misread the current status of the grapple - probably got turned around when it attacked. I think this is the first time Wraith's fought something capable of doing useful things while bound. Never mind that roll, then. Wraith will just give the thing a nice squeeze - DC20 Toughness.

Wraith, GM allowing, takes the relative moment of quiet to sneak in a shapeshift: Elongation 2 (10ft) [2pp] Speed 1 (10mph / 100 feet per Move Action) [1pp] Strike 5 (Feats: Improved Critical [19-20], Mighty) [7pp] [2 + 1 + 7 = 10/10pp] It would technically take an action, though - if that isn't kosher, let me know and I'll save it for when it's actually her mechanical turn.

Wraith craned her head up to look into 'her' portal, and when her gaze came back down the alien's three black eyes were narrow, offended slits. "You are insisting on new rules because we are beating you at a game we did not even wish to play," she coldly pointed out, shifting her attention from one foe to another. Her bladed tail melted back into the rest of her body as she got back onto two feet, bottom legs remaining oddly multi-jointed as her arms formed two lashing, maul-tipped tendrils. "It is the sign of an unworthy hunter. But if you wish you change the rules, we shall beat you at the new game, too - and then you shall be worth even less."

Wraith frowned as she lost her mental grip on Fathom and he flew out of view; this psychic stuff was hard. She couldn't move herself, but she could move her...brain....? The thought of having a lumpy grey brain floating around in her skull (her skull) made her a little ill again, and she tried not to think about it. She'd almost given up when she finally hit on the right state of mind, her concentration rewarded with a long, curved scythe of mental power arcing off her arm. It wasn't perfect - and its weird weightlessness was no substitute for a proper metal creation - but she was delighted none the less. She wasted no time in running up to the stoned Sylph and swiping it through her rocky body.

Concentration Check (1d20 + 5=10) Boo. Reroll! Which...I won't bother actually rolling, because she can't fail it. Free: Wraith switches to the Will-save Strike. Move: She runs right up to Sylph. Standard: Melee Attack Roll vs. Sylph (Strike (Will)) (1d20 + 12=23) Should hit, I think. DC23 Will save vs. damage.

"I believe that flesh is overrated," Wraith sagely noted, ducking around behind the basilisk as her hammers disappeared and her body sprouted a rather impressive number of long, boneless arms. Everywhere the basilisk could possibly turn there was just another flexible metal limb, and by the end of it the thing's body was criss-crossed in thick lines of silver that all came back to a body fighting to use its two clawed feet to stay put. "I do not believe I have seen creatures that can turn flesh into stone - is it magic?"
