Ouch! Those aren't good odds. Fortunately, she still has Ultimate Save (Toughness), even when she's trapped in meat. I'm going to go ahead and cough up an HP to auto-29 that, which is just enough.

Mara had some profanity of her own to throw into the mix as she immediately lost her ever-present connection to her choker...and some more foul language for good measure as she realized that the choker itself, and the suit it was linked to, were now just a bunch of handsome metal. unknown effect - power dampener? - no - not that specific - hit the building power - too slow for EMP - I think - could have noticed the effect on local power grid? - shouldn't have hit Erik - have to assume it was intentional Not having her suit made her awfully paranoid, but all she could do was sit forward in her chair a little and, one-handed, flick the knife out of her multi-tool. "Don't like this. At all. Don't know what that was, but hit my tech, too - not just the local power."

If she'd had a tongue, Wraith would have stuck it out at Spiegel; she could always have just made one for the occasion, but she had other priorities. In the chaos of his attack on Changeling she tore across the ground on all fours, skidding to a halt next to Edge and bringing her three-eyed head down to inspect his bindings. "I am going to ask you to please remain very still," she cautioned the (somewhat) helpless hero, and it was soon clear why: all four clawed feet dug into the ground as she grew a long, thick tail tipped with a gleaming, axe-like blade. Not a moment later the blade came down, arcing over her shoulder like some great scorpion's stinger and cleaving into his bonds.

Wraith heads to melee range of Edge and shifts: Speed 1 (10mph / 100 feet per Move Action) [1pp] Strike 5 (Feats: Improved Critical [19-20], Mighty, Power Attack, Precise) [9pp] [1 + 9 = 10/10pp] She surges and makes a fully-shifted melee attack on Edge's snare - DC30 toughness.

"Hm!" Wraith thrust her face closer to her enemy, giving it the evil eye right back - and she had more eyes to stare with. Whatever this neat 'basilisk' thing did to turn people to stone, it clearly didn't work on her, and she had sincere doubt that venom would either. She'd just have to watch out for those teeth.... She was a little conflicted, though, her sense of joy at finding out where the Earthlings had hidden the fun animals deflating. "I was not aware that those were not simply statues," the metal heroine admitted, flowing around the basilisk to deliver a series of strikes that were clearly intended to harry more than hurt, trying to turn its attention away from her incorporeal roommate. "That does rather take the fun out of things."

Rather than properly attack, Wraith's going to go ahead and aid Ghost Girl's attack instead. Teamwork! Aid Attack (aiding Ghost Girl), DC10 (1d20 + 10=26) She's near-incapable of failing aid attack actions, but gotta roll just in case you get a 1.... Ghost Girl gets either a +2 attack bonus or a +2 defense against the basilisk on her next turn. Wraith takes her move action to properly elongate, boosting her reach (for all that it matters in close melee).

Having not taken a move action, Wraith spends hers advising Papercut on the zen of shapeshifting. Not really well, but hopefully enough to let him un-puddle himself.

"H-hey!" Wraith was slow to respond to the fleeing villains, but as her teammates were called to action she snapped herself out of her meat-induced cringing long enough to notice that the artifact - the apparent cause of this horrible, horrible physical body - was moving away much faster than she'd have liked. Normally she'd have stretched out a limb, or moved to four legs to give chase, but what had always just been a human disguise had enough of a faked 'bone structure' that she knew neither of those options would work now. It didn't stop her from trying, though: she desperately reached out a hand and tried to reach out...and did. Only...not. She couldn't quite explain it - she wanted so badly to grab the fleeing fire-fueled felon, and it was like her mind was as flexible as her old body. A set of ghostly silver tentacles surrounded Fathom, fading into being from all directions and out of seeming nowhere to bind his body in place. She seemed as surprised as anybody, if still a little ill. "....w-wait. So I am...psychic? And Cobalt Templar is a ghost, and Citizen is fire, and Ghost Girl has the cranes, then...." She trailed off, glancing around with until she spied the puddle. "I - I think you are me, Papercut. Or...you are what I was? You are going to have to...oh, how do I explain." "Do not...do not think about what you are. Think of yourself as what you want to be. ....perhaps something with legs and arms? Imagine what you normally look like, and how it feels when you are a normal...what is the word, 'biped'?"

Not that it's likely to matter with the thing trying use flesh-to-stone on someone without flesh, but for posterity: Will Check vs. Intimidate (1d20 + 7=20) She's just too happy to be scared!

Woop, missed that AA had gotten an IC post in. Sorry 'bout that. Concentration Check, DC15 (1d20 + 5=20) Wa-hey! She can actually focus on being something other than horrible meat. Wraith switches both her Psionics arrays to Move Object, giving her Move Object 10. There are only two enemies who appear to be physically touchable, and one of them has the bauble! She tries to grapple Professor Fire-pants: Grapple Check (Move Object; Attack +10, Rank +10) (1d20 + 10 + 10=33) I'm assuming that for the sake of attack bonus calculations, a perception-range power has an 'attack bonus' of your effective PL. IC post pending grapple results.

Having stopped only long enough to find a quiet place to shift out of her human guise, Wraith entered the lobby just in time to see a man with a face like a skull fighting hand-to-hand with a giant, ferocious, unreasonably strong-looking snake-like creature that was apparently hell-bent on causing as much mayhem as possible. Finally, finally something on Earth made sense. Except for the skull-faced man - that was just weird. She almost laughed as she launched herself across the lobby, hands reforming just in time to give the creature a friendly tap...that is, to have two giant hammer heads on clearly boneless limbs swing straight into its body. "I do not mean to assume too much," she politely noted, sparing a glance at Nick from the corner of one of her three solid black eyes, "but your fight would likely go much better if you kept your eyes open so you could see your enemy. Are they injured?"

Standard Wraith opener: Move action: Shapeshift to standard combat mode: Elongation 2 (10ft) [2pp] Speed 1 (10mph / 100 feet per Move Action) [1pp] Strike 5 (Feats: Improved Critical [19-20], Mighty) [7pp] [2 + 1 + 7 = 10/10pp] Standard action: Charge! Melee Attack Roll vs. Basilisk (Accurate Attack +2/-2, Charge +2) (1d20 + 10 + 2 + 2=31) Naturally, every time she tries to power attack, the trade-off costs her the hit...but when she does an accurate attack, it's completely unnecessary! DC23 Tou save for the basilisk. Wraith is at -2 Defense for one round.

Not that she was too likely to admit it, but Indira was usually more than happy to sneak off of campus - partly because it was a relatively harmless way to do something she wasn't supposed to do, but mostly because there was only so much she could do at Claremont before going completely stir-crazy. She needed to be doing things - she needed to be exploring, or running, or stalking. Too many hours in a small room (even in good company) and she was literally climbing the walls. Kimber's enthusiasm was nothing if not infectious, and she was all smiles as her friend (figuratively) pulled her around the Plaza to see the sights and smell the smells. Screaming stole the smile from her face, though, and as soon as it started her head snapped around in a way that probably would have hurt if she'd had a proper spine. "Yes, I think that we should," she replied, eyes shifting to pure black and then back again between blinks. "Though it may be best if we change first."

There was something moving inside Indira's body. A lot of somethings, actually: she could feel them, each of them, individual muscles and organs all pushing or pulling or twitching like individual creatures, air sucking in and out of meaty chest sacks and fluids coursing through meaty tubes. As the smoke cleared she stood, distracted and dumbfounded, in a sleeveless purple and black costume that appeared to run in one piece clear from her feat to the top of her neck, where it continued further still up her fleshy face to form a simple, identity-concealing mask over her eyes. She used those eyes to glance down at her stiff-feeling, bone-filled, gloved hands, then back up at the other heroes and villains, watching the world move though just two spheres that rotated - rotated! - inside a pair of bone-and-muscle-backed sockets. She looked like she was going be sick. "I think that I am going to be sick."

Wraith looked up at the towering mountain of a man, not with awe, but with a keen appreciation for how intimidating he could be when he wanted. She stood her ground, almost passively, as his fist came down on her head. The effect was rather like somebody punching a pile of mercury: under the force of the blow her body splashed outward in all directions...but rather unlike a pile of mercury, no pieces of her every detached from the rest and she simply pulled herself back together moments later. "It is quite alright," she politely reassured Granite as her three black eyes blinked open on her newly-reformed head. "You may wish to find a new boss, however. I am afraid that I am not very easy to smash."

Will Check vs. Demoralize (1d20 + 7=13) Really, Indira? I'll let that go, though; she has better things to spend HP on! Things like that toughness save. Wraith's going to straight-up no-sell it - Ultimate Toughness for an auto-30 save, even with the Shaken penalty. Wraith loses 1 hero point, and is shaken for one round.

Wraith spun around the corner and made a beeline for the biggest target she could see, hurling toward Granite as a low-to-the-ground silvery streak right up until she was nearly underfoot - a little too near, as it turned out, as she failed to get proper traction on the museum floor and her momentum carried her just an inch too far, the oversized hammer she'd formed out of one hand swinging down so close to the giant's head that he could have felt the breeze...if he had any skin left. Inwardly, she swore in her native tongue. Outwardly, she took the opportunity to get a better look at the assembled villains, three solid black eyes focusing on each of them in turn. "Water, stone, fire...metal? I think I have read something like this in a book, once. Do we only need somebody with plant-based abilities to complete the set?"

I think this is the first or second thread where Wraith had the good sense to actually shapeshift BEFORE combat started. How 'bout that. Wraith's loadout, for the record: Super-Movement 1 (Wall-Crawling) [2pp] Speed 1 (10mph / 100 feet per Move Action) [1pp] Strike 5 (Feats: Improved Critical [19-20], Mighty) [7pp] [2 + 1 + 7 = 10/10pp] Move action: Wraith moves around the corner to get line of sight. Standard action: Charge Granite! Melee Attack Roll vs. Granite (Power Attack -2/+2, Charge +2) (1d20 + 10 - 2 + 2=12) Grr. Even (I assume) tou-shifted and flat-footed, I sort of doubt that hits. Wraith is at -2 defense until her next turn. She'll be interposing for Papercut, when able, for now. (She'd interpose for Kimber against that fire, but that villain seems well in hand!)

When the villains literally descended on the museum Indira turned to regard them, carefully sized them up, and did the only possible rational thing she could: she left. The crowd of people fleeing the elemental quartet were plus one disguised alien as she tried to lose herself among the humans and make for an exist....but only to the nearest corner, at which point she backed away and waited for the last of the civilians to be past her before melting into a smooth, silver form that scaled the wall a bit and hugged as close to the room she'd just left as possible. Her view wasn't great unless she wanted to betray her position, but she could at least hear the ongoing negotiations, and her eyes narrowed. Diplomacy rarely hurt, but she wasn't sure it would be much help against people who broke in through museum ceilings. That was okay. She could wait.

"Have actually thought about the...mmh...." Mara fiddled with her multi-tool for a moment, flicking the little screwdrivers and other tools in and out one-handed. "....'super-baby' problem. Kind of interesting. High-density cag...mmh. Cribs. Sorry. Sensitive, low-impact nullifiers. Adaptations to toys to make them more durable." She picked her little device back up and went back to inspecting it, apparently at the limit of her ability to not tweak the small gadget. "Very unusual set of constraints - makes for entertaining thought experiments."

Hmm. Indira slips out with with the presumably fleeing civilians, but not all the way out - as soon as she's around a corner and behind fleeing people, she shifts to alien mode and goes stealthy: Stealth Check (1d20 + 15=21) Not her best, but it's on short notice!

"Yes, I can - wait, what?" Indira blinked at the belt; she was trying to remember if it had any sort of human significance, but between unfolding events and personal distractions she couldn't quite place it, if there was anything to place. Custos snapped her out of it, though, and by the time Spiegel was done and Cobalt Templar was advancing she'd decided that maybe the motorcycle wasn't the best place for her to be. Rather than upset the other riders she just melted, turning silver and running down the sides of the bike to fall to the sand below in a more natural, three-eyed, metallic form. Well. More natural for her, anyway.
