Dragonfly swoops in for some stunnin'. Melee Attack Roll vs. Glacier King (taser hand) (1d20 + 11=24) DC21 Fort save - fail means dazed, fail by 5 is stunned, fail by 10 is KO.

A scrap metal cage to hold an unarmed surveillance drone was not exactly the most complex and intricate device Dragonfly had ever put together, but it still meant that a minute or two passed before she locked her office and made her way down to the meeting room. Once there she forwent the chairs in favor leaning back against a wall, tapping a finger against her arm as she tried to clear her cluttered head of the projects she'd been working on. [bg=#555555]"Only major concern I have with giving Protectron greater access is his still...unknown origins,"[/bg] she offered. [bg=#555555]"Should add that it isn't related to his nature - your nature. Would have same concerns about a human with amnesia. But is my only concern; don't have any compelling reasons to doubt you."[/bg]

Ah - sorry, not quite what I meant. I kind of ramble on this thread because I'm not used to other people bothering to read it! She isn't snake-like, but dragons - even western dragons - are built more long than tall, especially while bipedal. Growth puts a limit on the size of the character, not just the strict height; a dragon that's 16' long or so wouldn't be quite as tall at the shoulder as I'd like for what I'm building (and what's been established already, since this character does come from a disposable enemy in another thread). I could get around that last bit, of course, and Huge would certainly have its benefits - she'd be at least slightly more maneuverable, for one. A gargantuan character generally needs a minimum of a 20'x20' space to occupy; Huge only needs 15'x15'. Still not likely to fit into most buildings, of course, but at least more manageable. She'd lose the area attacks on a small miss, sadly, but she'd be able to tou- and attack-shift a bit more in human form, which might not be so bad. I also may be being too strict on myself about the size limitations. There isn't a lot to use for comparison; according to the core book, an Elephant is Huge (recorded as being up to 13' high at the shoulder, and relatively square-ish), but so's a T-Rex (13' at the hip, and up to 42' long. It's still something I'm considering, and like I said, her prototype build was Huge - I'm sure I'll waffle quite a bit (may make a second build where she's Huge, for comparison), but for now I at least have a decent 180pp build to work with.

Aha, I knew I'd seen that somewhere. Thanks! For some reason I thought it was in the books, but didn't find it there...thought my mind was making things up on me. That was actually the 'made some revisions while putting this here', because I couldn't find why I'd initially built it as a Drawback and not a Flaw. And I did consider Huge; the initial prototype build was huge, actually. I may still end up doing that, depending on budget; on the pro side, she'd fit into smaller spaces better. On the con side, she'd be significantly smaller, especially considering that she's built more long than high and the size limit on Huge would make her smaller than I'd like. Work in progress!

Now balanced at 180pp, which means GK would have to cough up 6pp on top of the two veteran rewards. As of this writing, he'd have to earn two more pp in the time it takes Dragonfly to earn 8 and get the second of the afore-mentioned veteran rewards. Can he do it? Who knows! The mace is a device now, to make it a little more reliable and justify the +4 damage. It also pushes her attack/damage tradeoff a little closer to damage, which I like. She loses some sense motive, but ehn...it was much too high to begin with. Exotic saves went down a bit too, though, and getting them back up would have to be a priority; the reflex is okay considering the heavy toughness, but I like high will saves on my high-toughness characters. Determination! Also, note that the math doesn't work out on this character - the Powers section, notably, does not add up. This is a thing I am aware of!

[bg=#555555]"Mmh,"[/bg] Dragonfly agreed. She flexed her hands, and the plates on her gauntlets pushed apart; a dozen little tools deploying on articulated arms. [bg=#555555]"Good idea. Think I can do that - might even be satisfying."[/bg] And indeed, by the time it was done she'd calmed down considerably, her frustration settling into a small grump. Dragonfly put the finishing touches on the fused and twisted metal that used to be a door lock and stretched, reflexively trying to put a hand through her hair before remembering that she had a helmet in the way. [bg=#555555]"Not...quite how I planned this. Guess the day's not over? Not quite the same here with idiots nearby, though. Probably going to be loud when they wake up, too."[/bg]

[bg=#555555]"Never got the phone number for the Christmas Crusader,"[/bg] Dragonfly pondered. She'd gotten far too used to just zip-tying criminals and sending phone calls to the police; something this far from civilization was...problematic. [bg=#555555]"Would have been useful. ...AEGIS, maybe. Probably have the resources to get them out of here. Eventually. Guess they could send Victory if nothing else."[/bg] She tilted her head, looking at the bubble'd agent. [bg=#555555]"Might even be tempted to leave heat on in their building after we leave."[/bg]

Wraith wasn't terribly inclined to let these so-called hunters - beings she didn't consider worthy of even the washed-out alien translation of the word - get the drop on them. Starships and some kind of dimensional portals were advantage enough; everything else stopped here. She was a silver blur, hugging the ground as she made a beeline toward one of the 'guides'; not five feet from him she leapt into the air, hands melting together into a single massive hammer that came down on the Alphan's head like...well. Like a huge metal hammer. "" she observed, in lightly accented Lor. "" Having an enemy she could hit did wonders for her nerves, though she was still going to have to be careful around those suits....
-
Dragonfly hovered over to her girlfriend before disengaging her wings, breathing a sigh of relief that the hit wasn't as bad as it had first looked. And, at the very least, wasn't bad at all anymore. one of the few things magic does better than science [bg=#555555]"Sorry. Got...frustrated. Not supposed to be anyone here. The whole point,"[/bg] she explained, turning to frown at the terrified Ackerman. [bg=#555555]"Speaking of which. What should we do with them? Probably wanted somewhere, for...something?"[/bg]

Wraith shifts to something a little more combat-ready (I really need to remember to just buy Power Attack, since she seems to use it so much; also, bluff!): Elongation 1 (5ft) [1pp] Enhanced Feat (Power Attack) [1pp] Speed 1 (10mph / 100 feet per Move Action) [1pp] Strike 5 (Feats: Improved Critical [19-20], Mighty) [7pp] Standard action: Charge! Melee Attack Roll vs. Alphan 1 (charge; Power Attack -5/+5, Charge +2) (1d20 + 10 - 5 + 2=14) That should just barely hit - good thing she won init! DC30 Tou save for Alphan 1. Wraith is at -2 def until her next turn.

Gateway crossed her arms, mostly to keep them still; she didn't particularly like this situation, and she was liking it less by the minute. no - focus - detach? - think of it like a problem to solve - variables? [bg=#222222]"Dangerous to punish on suspicion only,"[/bg] she finally observed, analytically, after the prisoner said his piece. [bg=#222222]"Practically speaking, I mean. Inspires fear, fear can be used to control, but the control is unstable. Inspires rebellion, too - makes people feel like they'll be punished no matter what they do, so might as well resist. Not saying you should take his word for anything, but can't afford to be too reckless. Bad PR. Video's easy to fake - making you poison your reputation is as effective as passing messages and...'snooping'."[/bg] never understood that word [bg=#222222]"Any possible evidence or proof he was not in the city? Better to know about it now, than have it used against you later if you kill him."[/bg]

"The paper box was very impressive," Wraith insisted. "Everybody was! I particularly liked the thing that you did at the beginning, Ghost Girl -" - the alien paused, her features briefly taking on an echo of the haunting, ageless figure Kimber had become. "It was very frightening - very cool! And...thank you, Sage." That last bit was accompanied by a fluid, not-quite-half-bow in Sage's direction. "You were a great help in my fight. These creatures are...tougher than anticipated. I may need more training, perhaps."

Currently, the easiest way to use Hero Factory is by using the version hosted on our site, accessible via that link. Please also see here, where a very helpful player has put together a translation guide! But not everyone can access this program, it's a little wonky on current versions of Flash, and sometimes you just want to have a hero factory of your very own. I've put together a little package here that'll let you have your own copy of Hero Factory. You can extract this .zip file anywhere you like on your computer; it contains the following files: fabrica.swf through fabrica4.swf These are the actual flash files for Hero Factory. They are, sadly, not in English; there's no way around this that I'm aware of, shy of decompiling the whole dang thing and translating by hand. flashplayer_10_sa.exe This is the FlashPlayer 10 stand-alone executable; it is straight from Adobe, who have since taken it down (or just hidden it terribly well) on their website. It truly is stand-alone - it won't install anything on your system, or replace anything you currently have installed. launch_hero_factory.bat This is a tiny two-line batch script that'll run Hero Factory for you, using the FlashPlayer 10 stand-alone. Nothing fancy here; you can open it up in notepad if you want to look at it. To run, just double-click the .bat file. Shoot me an e-mail if the link for the .zip file goes bad, and I'll re-upload it somewhere. It was last re-uploaded to DropBox 2016/04/28.

The fight had almost been fun, up until then - finding SHADOW goons in the arctic had been frustrating, but beating on them (and bantering) had been good for dealing with that frustration. Jill getting hurt changed things somewhat: the immediate concern and outrage killed the fun rather handily, leaving only the frustration and a metric ton of unhappy. Her change in mood was immediately obvious, even through the suit. She just...stopped in the middle of moving toward Ackerman, head alone turning to focus two glowing eyes on Hahn. And then space wrapped in around her and she disappeared. Her spatial sword seemed to reappear before she did and seemed just as vengeful, the normally smooth blade spitting and eating at the air as it grew out of his chest, plunged so far into his torso that Dragonfly's armored fist thudded against his back. [bg=#555555]"Should have listened to her. Awfully protective."[/bg]

Melee Attack Roll vs. Hahn (spatial blade; Power Attack -2/+2) (1d20 + 11 - 2=25) DC28 Toughness for him; IC post pending, because depending on how this goes she might surge.
-
Knowledge (Pop Culture) Check, DC20 (1d20 + 5=13) Nnnope. Notice Check, DC25 (1d20 + 15=30) Nothing escapes the three eyes of DOOOOOM. Initiative Roll (maybe?) (1d20 + 7=12) Aaaand we're back to the crappy init rolls.

Dragonfly swore, though she had the good sense to cut her suit's audio first; she wasn't about to let the villain see her sweat. not good - have to believe Ironclad can free herself - distract - buy time? [bg=#555555]"Take offense to that,"[/bg] she replied, gliding through the air to draw the frigid felon's attention away from her friend. phrase - 'follow the birdie'? [bg=#555555]"Not that small. Also not technically standing in the way of anything."[/bg] She held her arms out, sending a few twisting spatial shockwaves at the Glacier King. [bg=#555555]"Flying, not walking. Poor word choice on your part. Should try harder."[/bg]
-
Dragonfly could probably try to help Ironclad out of that, but not without setting them both up to get popsicle'd. Ranged Attack Roll vs. King (blast) (1d20 + 11=26) DC26 Tou save. Dragonfly moves around so that she and Ironclad are on opposite sides of the villain.

[bg=#555555]"Not really in a 'go easy' kind of mood,"[/bg] Dragonfly admitted, letting go of Ackerman's arm now that he was, if not out of the fight, at least a significantly smaller threat - for now, anyway. Mentally, she started ticking down how much time people of his weight and build generally took to recover. [bg=#555555]"Should really rethink who they work for if they--hey!"[/bg] A long blade of neon-blue energy and twisted space formed about an inch off her fist and she swept it out toward Drescher - through Drescher, really, the blade swinging right through the woman's torso without appearing to actually cut anything. [bg=#555555]"Stop that. Damage the abs and I will have to hurt you."[/bg]

went even better than expected - go Ellie - one down - three left - let's see [bg=#555555]"'Light them up'?"[/bg] Dragonfly tilted her head, picking out a target and swooping his way before they could bring weapons to bear. sure - why not [bg=#555555]"Good idea."[/bg] The plates on the armored heroine's gauntlet flexed as she reached out and placed one hand on Ackerman's arm; for the briefest of seconds it seemed like a harmless, vaguely futile gesture...and then something in the inner workings of the gauntlet clicked, shunting no small amount of electricity through the metal and into his body. [bg=#555555]"Glad I thought of it."[/bg]

Dragonfly blasts too much. Let's be interesting! Melee Attack Roll vs. Ackerman (taser hand) (1d20 + 11=27) DC21 Fort save vs. a Stun attack.

[bg=#555555]"What?"[/bg] Dragonfly looked up from the little metal cage she'd already started putting together; from the sound her her voice, her expression under that helmet must have been pretty blank. what does he-? - what? - oh! - no [bg=#555555]"No. Not necessary, I mean. Not intelligent - the drone, isn't. I don't make sapient artificial intelligences. Don't consider it ethical most of the time - unpredictable, sometimes unstable...obvious exceptions, of course,"[/bg] she added, gesturing through the screen at Protectron. [bg=#555555]"But can't guarantee results as excellent as you. This is just an autonomous security drone. Wall-climber. Has some kind of electrical problem, but no diagnostics - want to isolate it before shutting it down. Can't do that if it wanders off, and surges are making programming unstable."[/bg]

Initiative Roll (1d20 + 7=27) Well!
