[bg=#555555]"Yes,"[/bg] Dragonfly immediately replied, holding a finger into the air. [bg=#555555]"Robot. Artificial sensors. Very useful. Difficult to test without relying on human sensory input; too limited a data point. Easier to fool. Different mechanics at work, limitations, special properties...."[/bg] Even as she talked the inventor heroine got up, taking up one of the bracers and affixing it to the chair she'd been sitting on. Her suit rather unceremoniously came to life, power flowing through its systems...and, oddly, the systems of the bracer, which blinked on for a moment and then disappeared. So did the thing it was attached to. [bg=#555555]"Can you sense the chair?"[/bg] she asked, in a tone that was a lot more clinical than disappearing furniture probably warranted.

Wraith snapped her head around up as the speakers went silent, having been rather distracted peering at the surrounding buildings for other snipers. Then she snapped her head around again, in the same direction, the twist in her neck untwisting itself as she watched the strange radioactive wall come down. I am sorry, she thought in Sage's 'direction' (and the team's, though she had no idea whether or not they could hear her), even as her body reshaped itself into something almost quadrupedal, a thin mane of finger-sized tendrils extending out from her neck and waving in the air like cilia. A quick leap to a wall and a short climb got her into a nearby grate and she was off, half climbing and half just flowing along the hallway vents of the building. They would not close us off from themselves, she continued, in an Earthly language this time, unless they thought their enemies were still here and wished to trap them. It is possible they have agents in the building already. I am afraid I am not familiar with the 'Crime League' - I assume they are dangerous, but who are they?

Wraith shifts to the Hunter configuration. She also starts using Stealth and goes into the vents, like a good monster should. I am assuming, though, that the building has vents appropriate to the task; if not, let me know and I'll change the post. She's after any whiff of anything her Acute Olfactory might tell her is a person who isn't one of her team, too.

Wraith wasn't idle as the others charged into battle; she cast her three eyes around the field of combat trying to focus less on her first real supervillain fight () and more on what her grandfather had taught her about fighting groups. In a flash she was gone, moving with surprising speed for a ambulatory lump of metals: powerful, boneless legs propelled her low to the ground until she was close enough to swing the club-tipped tendrils that were once her arms at Firehawk's body.

Free action: escape from entanglement. Wraith takes a look at the gathered people and, all other strategies aside, goes for the one who looks like he's the easiest to take out, to thin their ranks. My terribly scientific method here is comparing STR+CON for the villains, making Firehawk the victim of choice. Move action: Close to (elongated) melee range. Standard action: Melee Attack Roll vs. Firehawk (whip-clubs) (1d20 + 10=25) 'at'll do. DC25 Toughness.

Hm. Might be miscounting, but I tally 11 posts in Way to Go, Wendigo! and at least 6 in In a Detroit Minute, which should be at least 17 for Wraith, or 2pp. Again, though, could be missing something...goodness knows I've been up for a while.

Improbably, I am also moving this weekend, so it's back to blackberry posts for me, and I'll probably be pretty busy on top of that. Busy and tired and pained. On the bright side, I'll have the dang books again....

Wraith was in full alien mode, and she was obviously...unsettled. The individual signs were subtle, given her strange physiology and habit of standing around like a statue, but those three black eyes were just a little differently-shaped, wider maybe, and she kept shifting or turning her head (in a way that made it pretty obvious she had no spine) to glance up at the roof as if she could see through it and clear to the Gorgon above. "....I will remain," she finally chimed in, careful and pensive. "I am honored to be chosen for the task. And...and I think it will be better than doing nothing at all."

Per chat, Dragonfly'll go ahead and spend an HP to have the concealment generator on-hand, the assumption being that she's been working on it since the Gorgon thing originally came up. DC31's well within her means, anyway, since she's guaranteed to make that with a little time and, at most, two HP; one, if she spends a little extra time on her mental-quickness-enhanced design phase.

[bg=#555555]"Take a sample,"[/bg] Dragonfly noted, briskly, fully-armored and working on a number of small metal bracers, all steel and glass - her gauntlets had deployed a number of small, articulated tools that she was using on the exposed wires and mechanical parts. [bg=#555555]"Maybe take direct action if possible. Probably not possible. More important to gather information, nanites for study - scientists, heroes, but not heavy-hitters, not equipped to fight something that large."[/bg] She gestured vaguely with one tool-deploying hand; each of the little tools made an absurd little gesturing motion too. [bg=#555555]"And teleporting, yes. Faster in general. Not that hard to exceed speed of light constraints - teleportation, spatial diffraction, change the speed of light. But even if we cut travel time down far enough, would take too long to build. Gorgon is...ahead of schedule."[/bg]

Belated for Wraith: Reflex Saves vs. Area Snare Effect (DC20, DC20/15) (1d20 + 8=14, 1d20 + 8=18) Snare'd! But only snared, and that's not gonna last long.

27's an impossible bluff for Wraith and her +6 bonus; she's fooled. EDIT: And, being fooled, probably not gonna interpose for as long as she thinks he's with the villains!

Indira put the luggage down and blinked as the criminals made their entrance, both at the unfolding events and at the assorted reactions. She wasn't entirely sure what the...'Champions of Crime'?...were going for, but she was pretty sure they hadn't gotten the response they'd wanted. 'Rust Belt' She blinked again as Eve pulled her into the vanishing act, but this at least removed the last little bit of doubt she'd had about getting involved. With Corbin escorting Koshiro's family away and herself hidden - however temporarily - from view she was free to drop the human disguise, clothes and hair melting back into her body and color leeching away even as her eyes - all three of them, as another opened in her forehead - filled in pitch black. Her fingers, too, melted away, pulling together and forming two large, studded clubs. "How many super-powered heroes do you think Detroit has?" she quietly asked in her mouthless, humming voice. "Somehow I think you are right - they are unlikely to know what they have started."

Unless otherwise noted, Wraith will be interposing for Papercut while he's in range. Speaking of range: Move action: Shapeshift to Whip-Club setting. Move action: Elongate her arms to the full +10', because why not.

Sharl got an awfully skeptical glance when he insisted he was from Earth, but not so skeptical that she looked completely unconvinced. The alien did, however, make a careful mental note to ask where an Earthling had learned fairly archaic Lor like that. For now Indira gave him a quick nod when he mentioned where she was ostensibly from - it wasn't like anyone who saw her or heard her talk couldn't guess as much, after all - and while Eve was handing the family her card the Indian girl made her way over to the assembled boxes and luggage. She carefully assembled a stack of items that was awfully heavy but only barely over reasonable for a human...hopefully, anyway. It was so hard to judge. she grimly reflected as she silently hefted the unusually hefty load with only feigned effort, and not much of even that.

"How long have you been on Earth?" Indira asked, very very quietly, having moved over to stand by Sharl as others took over the introductions. She was smiling - she'd apparently had a lot of practice at it - and her body language was largely calm and cheerful, but her voice had a bit of a stressed edge to it. After all the hours and hours she'd had to endure being sternly instructed or lectured by her parents, their Lor officer, and whoever else.... "Please do not get us detained. I believe that it would cause us a great deal of trouble, and they would not have to take us very far to lock us away."

Indira'd had relatively few problems going through the metal detectors - she'd been given some token training in keeping her body's conductivity down (well, relatively down, anyway, for a big lump of metal; she could at least push it further down toward 'meat' conductivity), and if she could get through airport security with little hassle, she could get through a budget-starved Detroit prison version. She was just glad they didn't have an x-ray machine. When Koshiro entered the room she was standing with the rest of the Claremont bunch, taking in the prison exit room experience. When nobody else seemed to be saying anything she stepped forward, putting on her best smile. "Hello - you must be Koshiro. I am Indira Singh; it is good to meet you."

Mara's face was the sort of image you'd see as a picture next to the dictionary definition of 'blank', with just a touch of confusion that said Erik might as well have started speaking Lor for all that she knew what he was talking about. "Drop and what?" she asked, though the question was answered as soon as she saw Ellie assuming a push-up position. "....mmh." The young engineer did somewhat more poorly at the 25 than she had against the drones, clearly more used to fighting than she was used to relying on her upper-body strength. Still, harder thought it might be, she was entirely too stubborn not to finish the full set.

"Don't have to keep....phrase....'selling me' on training," Mara dryly pointed out, raising an eyebrow at Erik. "Am already here. Of own free will. May not always look forward to the idea, but can see the benefits. Strength, reflexes, stamina. Better experience, better ability to plan. All good for better results when it matters." She paused as something occurred to her, and clearly couldn't resist. The corner of her mouth tugged a little as she added, deadpan, "Probably good for fights, too."

"I am afraid I can only take the one human form," Indira regretted aloud, studying the detention center with great curiosity. "The shape is very easy, but color is much harder - or impossible, I suppose; it is not a natural ability. I cannot change my own scent, either." She frowned down at herself, looking at her usual tank top and khakis. "I could probably make myself look older, with clothing, hairstyle, and makeup. But I do not know how well that would work."

Blinking, Mara glanced back and forth between Ellie and Ellie's brother as she picked up on the edges of the forced expressions and hidden reactions. what? - seem - mmh - stupid - should have anticipated - too used to it myself - work on projected reactions - practice? - later - address it? - seems best to let it go "Jokes aside - do try to be more careful than I look. Usually take time to prepare before fights. Or...mostly usually?" She frowned, looking dissatisfied with that. "Not always time. Very annoying...easier when storming mob hideouts, gang dens. On the offensive. Harder when giant gorillas attack parks. Tangent." She waved a hand, brushing the train of thought aside for now. "But, yes. Try not to be too confident. Can't afford to get too hurt, anyway. Not allowed."

Indira looked around, seemingly unfazed by the lighting conditions - though she kept doing the black-eyed thing when she thought no one was looking. "I am sorry that I have no money to give," she said in reply to the rhetorical statement, putting her hands into pockets that she'd made out of...well, out of herself. "At least, I have no money in American dollars; I may have some rupees, but I am not certain they would do the homeless much good. I am afraid they would also not be very useful in paying for a taxi...I am too used to riding the train, or running along rooftops."
