Ranged Attack Roll vs. Heka (blast) (1d20 + 10=24) Jeeze. She actually hit something. DC25 Toughness for the mummy man.
-
Reflex Save vs. Hiroshima's Drain Con, DC18 (1d20 + 6=7) Nnnnope. Evasion 2 means she only suffers half effect even if she botches her reflex roll, though. Fortitude Save vs. Hiroshima's Drain Con, DC14 (Evasion 2) (1d20 + 5=11) Why, Invisible Castle? Why? Given that her toughness and fort are already pretty low, screw that. Dragonfly uses her shiny new HP to reroll that Fortitude save - with Evasion 2 and her (albeit meager) fort bonus, she auto-succeeds.

"Agreed," Dragonfly said, raising a hand toward Guy Fawkes. Her gauntlet gathered in the space around it and...missed. She'd apparently underestimated how agile the knife-wielding maniac could be, trapped or not. She had some choice Japanese words for that, scowling. "Hold still. Easier for the both of us."

It's like shooting fish in a somethingsomething. Ranged Attack Roll vs. Guy Fawkes (blast) (1d20 + 10=14) Why you gotta be like that, IC? Why?

Dragonfly's protected from the radioactive and heat of the environment. Technically the cold of the environment, too, but not the cold damage. Good thing she's not inclined to bring her force field down when she knows Hiroshima's in the area.... Toughness Save vs. Coolant (1d20 + 8=10) ...well gee. Thanks, Castle. How kind of you. @#$% that. Spending an HP to reroll. Toughness Save REROLL vs. Coolant (1d20 + 8=21) That's better. Initiative Roll (Speed of Thought) (1d20 + 7=24) Not much worth saying for an IC post - 's just a save. I'll roll it into her turn's post once init order is decided.

Satisfied that between the two of them Diehard had been taken out of the fight, Dragonfly still didn't miss a beat: as Blackfire lurched under the force of being used as a springboard, the engineer's non-bladed hand snapped out past Jill and grabbed him by the shoulder. "Time to visit Angel again," she told him - out loud and in his head - as he folded away into nothing. The lull in the fight offered her the chance to quickly kneel down and pull the unconscious Diehard in as well, standing back up to keep a very wary eye on Guy Fawkes and Heka. "Feels calmer already," she dryly noted, with a bit more confidence than she felt. "But not calm enough, I think." Somewhere in her dimensional pocket, Blackfire folded into being in mid-air just over Angel and her vomit. After just enough time for gravity to have taken its course, Diehard and his bile appeared in mid-air where Blackfire had....

Blackfire! You are once more banished to....th' blag'ole. Melee Attack Roll vs. Blackfire (Dimensional Pocket) (1d20 + 10=21) Should hit him, flat-footed as he is against her attack. DC19 Reflex to avoid pocketing, will saves starting at DC19 to get back out later. Same old, same old. IC pending.

Dragonfly glanced with no small concern at Diehard's breakdown, exchanging a glance with Jill over their new, and rather quickly deteriorating, situation. She made a fist, a long blade of softly-glowing twisted space forming about an inch from her hand. Trying to dodge or deflect Blackfire's swings and Heka's attacks she weaved in closer to the skin-gouging martial artist, her weapon leaving quiet trails of neon blue in the air as she...didn't really seem to be trying to hit him. Instead she seemed to guide him back a little, distracting his attention and trying to force his footwork to where she wanted it to go. She wasn't an expert swordswoman, but bit by bit she seemed to be getting the result she wanted....

Dragonfly aids Jill's attack on Diehard. Because Diehard's kinda freaky, and has been the biggest threat so far. Melee Attack Roll vs. Diehard, DC10 (to aid Jill's next attack) (1d20 + 10=30) FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF You enjoy that +2. Because apparently it's the most badass +2 that ever +2'd. EDIT: Yeeesssssss.

Dragonfly reached out a hand for Guy Fawkes again, but Blackfire's combination of reappearance and skin-tearing was a bit too distracting for her to hit her mark: she missed by a foot at least, blinking at the metal under the man-machine's skin. what - explains the strength - mmh - unfortunate - doubt Jill's touch will work - curious - useful - distraction? - keep his focus off Jill Lights danced behind her eyes, Dragonfly's voice echoing not through the air, but in Blackfire's head. What are you? Very curious. Interesting engineering. Built from scratch? Cyborg? Unlikely to be self-created. Don't seem that smart. Hard to tell. Well-built, at least. Engineering seems familiar - don't know why. Will investigate later, when you're in jail. Principles at work are similar to -- It just went on and on like that, at absurd speed, like listening to several rambling scientists all inspect the same creation at once after twenty cups of coffee.

Oh, the temptation to shove him right back into the pocket. But that's cheap, even for a fight where the odds are against you. And the odds probably aren't as good. Knife boy's still on Dragonfly's nerves, though. Sharp things! Melee Attack Roll vs. Guy Fawkes (taser hand) (1d20 + 10=13) Ffffffff
-
Toughness Save vs. Guy Fawkes' Attack, DC21 (1d20 + 8=24) Whew. Man, Dragonfly's had good luck on those. Technically the odds are against her....
-
"Not certain I'd call this even," Dragonfly noted, making a grab at the knife-wielding maniac and, unfortunately, missing by a decent margin. "What have you contributed so far? Missed magic and badly-grabbing hands, I think." not good at banter - keep focus off Jill - keep focus off civilians - odds are going to be bad again if trapped enemies escape "Have to wonder why they keep you around."

Normal damaging attacks seem like they'd take too long. And Jill's all about the Fortitude saves anyway, so let's build on that. Teamwork! Melee Attack Roll vs. Guy Fawkes (Taser Hand) (1d20 + 10=15) Failure! Boo.
-
Toughness Save vs. Guy Fawkes' Attack, DC21 (1d20 + 8=24) Do not bring a knife to a fight.

Dragonfly growled something unpleasant-sounding in Japanese as Diehard tried to assault Jill, not bothering to try to touch anyone this time - she held out a gauntleted hand and made a fist, a large spatial twist forming and extending tendrils at the nearby villains. Not having to chain the distortions together certainly made things faster - the line of twisted space that reached for Guy Fawkes missed its mark, but Diehard (in his distraction) and Angel (in her unconscious state) weren't nearly so lucky. Lines spread across their body as the world wrapped in around them and they disappeared, vanishing into points of nothingness. Somewhere in the blank expanse of her dimensional pocket, Angel in all her vomit-stained glory folded into being above Blackfire and fell.

Hum dee dum. Worth another shot. Area Attack Roll vs. Villains within 50' (previously-stunted Dimensional Pocket) (1d20 + 10=20) That was not worth the HP she'll have to spend to waive the Tiring. Ah well. DC20 reflex for...just Diehard, I think, who screwed up his defense doing the All-Out Attack. DC20 Will saves to get back out, if he fails. EDIT: Sure! She'll pocket Angel, while she's at it, dropping her in an isolated compartment just so no one can try to bring her around.

Very slowly, carefully, people were starting to peek from the sides of windows and doorways, out from behind or under cover. The more people noticed it seemed safe, the more word spread and the more people peeked out to see if it was indeed safe; over the course of a few minutes, as Gaian Knight and Supercape floated over the battle-damaged lawn with its green stains and paths rendered unrecognizable, quite the crowd gathered around the edge of the battlefield to murmur to themselves. Nothing moved, however...or at least nothing threatening. As sirens finally broke out in the distance someone in the crowd was inspired to cheer and like in all crowds, the feeling spread. Though no one wanted to step foot toward the dormant blob-containing rocks everyone wanted to clap or voice their approval, offering up their gratitude to the heroes who'd saved them and their school (and, one noted listening to the individual people, got at least two classes out of a brutal test). Only the custodians didn't look thrilled, but by their posture they were grudgingly admitting that the blobs would have done far worse damage on their own.

Tarrant's Journal, March 20th, 2011 Looking back on that last entry kind of makes me think. I built a beehive the size of a very, very large building in a matter of minutes. Back on the underwater thing I mentioned earlier, I barely even noticed the crushing ocean pressure that I know must have been around me. Just the other day some kid was half-crazed on some drug and shot me...and I stopped the bullet. With my skin. I, flesh and blood, am now apparently more durable than that breastplate I've been wearing. I'll keep wearing it just in case (and it...kind of fits the theme, I guess?), but...I just...yeah. I'm not bulletproof, but apparently I'm fairly close, and that gets me to wondering. I really have no answers about anything. I don't know the limits of what I can do, and I keep finding new things that I can do. It seems like once a month I wake up and I'm tougher, or I can dig my way through tougher stone, or...just the other day I found out that I could sink magic into a rock. I couldn't figure out what the point of it was until I needed to get someone out of a burning building later on and made a giant, glowing stone portal...that took me to the rock. Apparently I can only do that to rocks I've set up, but so far I haven't found any sort of limiting distance. Something - what, I don't know - even tells me I could set it up on F's planet...which is in another dimension. Another dimension. Did I mention that? Some days this is terrifying. It reminds me, though: I should talk to F again. If I could set up a...I don't even know. Anchor stone, I guess, on her planet I could set up some kind of home base there to help out whenever she or the bees or her survivors (not even going to try to explain them) need it. If she'll let me, of course. I admit, it's a little childish, but I've always wanted a floating castle....
-
Speaking of F, did I mention bees? This journal only has two pages or so filled in, so I don't think I did. Let me mention them again: bees. BEES. Talking, intelligent bees the size of semi trucks. And friendly, too, which...took some time to wrap my head around. I'm still not sure I've gotten the whole story, but apparently they were made by a villain. Decent folk, though...er, for bees. F has a whole planet to herself (which could be a whole other story unto itself!), and she gave the bees sanctuary there because...well. Because what else do you do with a bunch of sixty-foot bees? I had to feel bad for them, though; they have bee needs on an absolutely insane scale, but their instincts are...not great. It was already winter and their hives weren't...well I'm not a bee, but even I could tell that they were pretty sad. It says something for their wax that the things were standing up at all. Which is why F brought me in, really. I admit, it was a lot of fun cutting loose and building something big. I mean big. Most buildings are smaller. It felt good to do something for somebody - somebeedy? - that didn't involve grading papers or hitting criminals with rocks. Their new hive is pretty good, if I do say so myself, and won't get taken down by anything short of a major earthquake; they have space, they'll be warm in the winter, and they have a decent water supply down in the base of the hive. I kind of which I got huge projects like that more often.

Tarrant's Journal, January 2nd, 2011 Man, so much for keeping a record of things. It's been...what, four months? Yeesh. Six. Well, then. I've been doing...pretty well for myself, actually. I suppose I'm more or less an established hero now; turning the bay into a lake way back when certainly helped. Since my last entry in this journal I've fought crime, helped people, faced demons and even visited Atlantis. Atlantis. No joking. Underwater people and everything. There was even a giant vampire squid...that was a vampire. It spat smaller squids at us. Didn't sleep well for ages. Today, though, was something special. A while back I met - hm. I probably shouldn't write her name down. I met somebody, who I'll call F (this thing sounds rambly...why do I have to use a pen?). Turns out she was engaged, and I was asked to attend the wedding. A beautiful ceremony, wonderfully-decorated, and an absolutely fantastic old church. I met quite a few people there, but I have to wonder if half of them were also heroes. I wouldn't be surprised. Still, there were no incidents requiring heroics of any kind, which was nice. New to this or not, I half-suspected some old enemy of the couple's to come bursting through a window yelling about revenge. Looking back, it would have been interesting to see how many wedding-goers excused themselves to the nearest bathroom or closet. Hm.

Though the knives did no worse than silently scrape along her force field, and Heka's magical assault glanced harmlessly off the large, circular shield she pulled up at her fingertips, Dragonfly had had just about enough of being ganged up on - and more to the point, watching Jill get ganged up on. Her gauntlets built up a twisting spatial charge, and she shot out a hand to grab Guy's wrist, the distortion spreading across him...and then arcing to Diehard, whose distortion in turn arced to Angel. Space closed in around each of them, threatening to trap them all.... ....but she cursed (in Russian), recognizing the linking process as far too slow even as her targets managed to duck out of their fate, her pocket gaining nothing but a three-point rush of air.

Dragonfly made a grumbling noise at 'kids', and another at 'lunch money', though her mouth was too occupied with some chips and dip to express herself any more eloquently right away. Not that she wasn't aware she was young (and generally looked younger), but being treated like a teenager wasn't flattering, and even if that hadn't been directed at her she wasn't sure she liked the implications of that being directed at her girlfriend, either. "Age isn't so important," she replied, casually but pointedly, when she'd chewed enough to swallow. "Though...mmh. Sounds like an argument by the young. Still. Hopefully old enough to gamble wisely, if you're old enough to fight crime."

Dragonfly's had just about enough out of the two meleers. Melee Attack Roll vs. Guy Fakwes II (Dimensional Pocket) (1d20 + 10=30) Well, hell. Let's have some fun with that. Per the house rules, doing a 'free' stunt: Dimensional Pocket 10 (50 tons; Extras: Area [Targeted Burst, 50-foot radius], Selective Attack, Flaws: Action 1 [Full-Round], Tiring) [20/20] DC20 Reflex save for every villain within 50' of Dragonfly to not get Pocket'd! DC20 Will saves thereafter to escape. Spending an HP to waive the fatigue from Tiring, because gauntlet fatigue drops her by 1-2 PLs, and that's bad.
