Mara opened her mouth to say something...and closed it again. It was just too nice, quietly snuggling with Ellie on the couch; she couldn't think of anything to say that wouldn't detract from the mood for some reason she couldn't define. Instead she took a moment to consider her options, turning things over and over in her mind until, satisfied, she turned her attention outward, to the warehouse. Lights danced behind her eyes as the television, muted, flicked on - channels changed at lightning speed until she found a quiet, low-action movie. A quick thought to her computer system brought most of the warehouse lights down and another brought the television volume up, if only just; the engineer snuggled into Ellie a little, holding her hand to enjoy her company in the relative darkness as the movie played in the background.

Mara tilted her head, helping herself to a platefull of food as she listened to Mark's announcement. "Coffee, milk. Please. Tanzania?" she requested and asked in rapid order, popping a morsel into her mouth and trying to not interrupt the other conversations. "Odd choice. Good luck. Africa...not sure if I'd want to stay there long. Number of reasons...probably same or similar reasons to go and offer help. Mmh." She pondered that for a moment, head tilting as she took a small bite of bread. "Still. Hope you do some good there."
-
She hesitated for a moment, but eventually Mara relaxed, blushing a bit and sliding an arm around Ellie's back. "I...like it too," she admitted, settling back into the couch a bit. "Good to have your own space. Very...freeing." She sat in silence with Ellie for a little bit, then, until the growing concern of being a bad host finally outweighed the contentedness of snuggling on the couch. "Mentioned...movies? Don't have much here, but could try to find something on tv, or online...."

Dragonfly was just on the edge of carefully declining the offer when she realized she had the wrong size of a couple of her parts - not really wanting to intrude in another person's workshop but not really wanting something she was to wear around her arms explode, she sighed and accepted use of the workshop as gracefully as she could manage, gathering her parts back up and following Ivan with (flat, but in Russian) apologies for the inconvenience and assurances that she had nothing but respect for a quality set of tools.

Supercape's attack didn't seem to do any harm - the thing certainly looked the same as it always had - but the blob certainly felt it. Howling more in rage than in pain, It shuffled about as if searching for something before whipping a tendril out to grab a rather large chunk of rock, slinging the minor monolith at the little flying man that wouldn't let it eat everything it wanted. Unfortunately for the creature, aiming a boulder is pretty hard - it missed the hero by inches, the boulder spinning off to land on the roof of a nearby building with a custodial-wince-causing crack. Meanwhile, the sound of approaching somethings was getting awfully close, though still hidden from even the lofty Supercape's eyesight. Which was odd, he certainly had the vantage point to spot anything making its way along the ground....
-
The Blob is unhappy! The Blob cannot reach annoying flying man. The Blob makes do. Ranged Attack Roll vs. Supercape (improvised weapon, thrown) (1d20 + 6=17) The Blob misses by inches. ROUND FOUR: 9: Gaian Knight - 2HP - unharmed, not present 6: Supercape - 2HP - unharmed 2: ???? - ???? -2: The Blob - unharmed Supercape is up. Things happen this round!
-
My inclination is to say that since Supercape moved then attacked last round, and simply attacked (without moving first) this round, the Drain Toughness hits before the Secondary Effect does - taking the Secondary Effect as having an initiative of 'Supercape's initiative + a move action'. Fortitude Save vs. Supercape's Drain Toughness, DC20 (1d20 + 10=28) Well, you had just under 1:2 odds. That's not so bad, and would have been crippling if you'd managed it! Guess the order doesn't matter after all. Secondary Effect kicks in. Toughness Save vs. Supercape's Blast [secondary Effect], DC25 (1d20 + 18=37) Did you, perhaps, insult Invisible Castle's mother?

"It's...home," Mara noted, looking around with the sort of critical eye you give your living area when you have a guest. She sat down next to Ellie, folding her hands in her lap. "Used to be an observation area and office space," she explained, remembering what it looked like before she touched it up a bit. "Needed someplace...comfortable. Reinforced the walls, got a good deal on furniture." She paused, dryly adding, "Moving a big bed and couch and television is much easier when you can bend space."

Dragonfly gave the calendar a rather appreciative eye, though she was thankful that if she kept her head straight - so to speak - her visor concealed exactly where her gaze was. Vodka wasn't really her style, but she did retrieve her gathered parts from her dimensional pocket, unfolding them out of thin air and spreading them across a claimed piece of table, starting her tinkering while formalities and informalities were had. "" she grumbled, switching languages mid-grouse to add, "Would have saved me some frostbite...."
-
Dragonfly, despite trying to be a little better about keeping her mind out of other peoples' electronics, couldn't resist a mental glance at Gossamer's cell phone, lights behind her eyes hidden behind closed eyelids. "Third down is good," she noted, still flopped in her chair. "Reasonable prices, quality food. Should still be open for another...mmh." She opened an eye, looking around for the nearest clock. "...two hours. Regular meals...interesting idea. Good idea to keep everyone in touch, at least."

Near as I can tell (correct me if I've missed something): ROUND ONE: 21 - Nick Cimitiere, 1HP - unharmed 19 - Dragonfly, 1HP - unharmed 16 - Knuckles - unharmed 13 - Slick, 1HP - unharmed 9 - goon - unharmed Knuckles just went, so Slick should be up.

Sliding off the counter, Mara nodded and led Ellie over to the spiral staircase in the corner of the kitchen, insisting that she go first ("good manners"), and unabashedly enjoying the view as she came up after. The stairs, while steep, had apparently been replaced with something custom-built and easier to climb, and in short order led up into the loft. One side was waist-high - well, slightly more than waist-high, for Mara - railing offering a pretty good view of the rest of the warehouse; the floorspace was mostly dominated by a comfortable-looking L-shaped couch that offered good view of a large, wall-mounted television, itself next to an ajar door that clearly led into a bedroom and a wide bed with dark blankets. By and large it reflected its owner's general belongings: comfortable, with a touch of character but few frills.

Mara ducked her head a little, but accepted the hand to help pull her into a sitting position. "Not...very good at naming things. Small, cute, bumps into things...seemed appropriate?" She pushed herself forward to let her legs dangle over the edge of the counter, tapping a finger on her leg and trying not to focus too much on that recent kiss. "Mmh," she pondered, to break the silence, "could give you the rest of the tour. Really is not too much to see, though." She started ticking things off on a hand. "Small wine stash, hidden exit, storage, computers, roof, loft, personal...space. Think the television's currently connected. Don't watch it much."

"Mmh. No," Mara replied, shaking her head. "Not smart enough...mostly. Was a gift. Improve it sometimes; good at finding its way around, but...." She set it down on the counter next to her, where it rolled around for a moment before dropping right off the edge and falling to the floor. After a moment's disorientation it made a beeping noise and trundled off toward the workshop shelves. "....not very smart yet. Working on that. Also can't get up stairs - loft and...bedroom." She blinked, snapping back out of babbling and engineer mode to look up at Ellie and their position. "....mmh...s..sorry."

Mara, in turn, was trying to keep an eye on pretty much everyone for hints on what was appropriate at these things - dinner that typically consisted of "late-night run to the hole-in-the-wall diner" didn't really do much to polish one's fine dining skills. Engineering conversation interrupted by the announcement of the meal, she'd followed the rest in and managed to resist the urge to secure a seat as far from everyone else as possible; instead she politely sat down near Jill with her hands in her lap and devoted her attention to learning as much as she could, as fast as she could, about-everything-related-to-the-brunch-and-its-guests-and-its-host as she could.
-
Mara leaned back a little further, blushing a bit. "Not a lot more to see...generator, storage room, loft. Bedro--" Something was thunking against the side of the counter. what? - ah - just had to interrupt - fine "And, mmh. This." The engineer pushed herself back on the counter a little, bracing herself with her legs and arching her back to reach down and grab something on the floor outside the kitchen. "Don't think you met. Where were you hiding...?" She pulled herself back up, flat on her back and holding up a largish hamster ball filled with electronics and a single camera eye, which turned and focused on Ellie when she came into view. "This is Puppy."

"Mmh." Mara tilted her head, frowning. "I...dabble. Sort of. Yes." She frowned over her shoulder at the bike, her mind's eye pulling it apart into...well, parts. "Certainly have everything I'd-- mmh, no. Would have to get proper paint, tires. Or raw materials for tires. Don't have the machinery...could build that. Hate working with rubber and plastic, though. Smell doesn't come out for days, hate to special-order but if it means I could design custom wheels without worrying about...." She blinked, turning her head back around to look at Trevor and the others as she returned to reality. "Mmh. ....s...sorry. Brain gets away from me sometimes."
-
Mara blinked in surprise, tilting her head. She honestly hadn't expected the offer, and the idea was...awfully tempting. would probably require at least cursory inspection - suppose I could hide nonstandard features easily enough - hadn't really given it serious thought - need to review applicable laws? "Will...think about it," she answered, her brain already churning out blueprints and revisions to blueprints that she might not ever get around to implementing. "A...generous offer. Thank you. Would certainly make for an enjoyable side-project...."

Immediately hunching into her jacket, Dragonfly muttered something about how she'd need to find a workshop sooner than expected. The signs, certainly, got a critical eye - a little crude for her tastes, but she had to admit they'd probably be effective, and it was the sort of place you'd want to keep most people away from. "" she replied with a nod, in pitch-perfect Russian. Or, at least, as perfect as she ever got when talking. "" she introduced in turn, gesturing with her head as she was completely unwilling to take her hands out of her pockets, "

It'll play out as mechanics dictate - blob'll get hit a second time during Supercape's turn (which is now), unless he uses the attack again. You are still in combat, though: the blob spent its turn doing something that wasn't hitting you. Speaking of, bookkeeping! ROUND THREE: 9: Gaian Knight - 2HP - unharmed, not present 6: Supercape - 2HP - unharmed 2: ???? - ???? -2: The Blob - unharmed, impending Secondary Effect (Blast 10, Supercape)

Mara sat back a little on the counter, leaning back on both arms as she got fresh air into her lungs and tried to get her brain - and eyes - to focus again. "Mmh," she managed, when he tongue was back to being useful for talking. "That was...." wow - don't even - makes me want to - counter could support the weight - probably not a good idea - why? - mmh "....very...good. Need to flatter more often, maybe."

Mara blinked, glancing back through the door at her beloved vehicle. "Mmh," she nodded. "Yes. Partly impulse - needed a way to get around, wanted to...celebrate freedom." innocent enough "Liked the design, engineering was...wasn't too bad. Been dependable so far - take very good care of it. Keep getting tempted to build my own from scratch, but need it to be registered...and street-legal. Bothersome. Will find a way around that eventually."
-
She made a surprised noise through the kiss as she was suddenly picked up, her eyes blinking open as Ellie lifted her into the air...and then fluttering closed again as she enjoyed the advantages of her new height. One hand brushed her hair out of their faces as the other traced up the medic's back to her head, running her fingers into the short hair there and holding her head close; Mara legs wrapped a bit around her carrier's body in reflex, the world falling away and beneath her notice.

Mara winced a little, Eve's words warped by that familiar echoed static she got whenever a telepath tried to do anything with her head. It wasn't as bad as she was expecting, though - maybe it was the white-haired psychic's extensive practice, maybe it was the relatively low 'strength' it took to just send words into someone's mind - and she didn't have too much trouble hearing what was said as long as she kept her focus on it. never get used to that "Thank you," she replied, trying to be as graceful a guest as possible. "Your home is very nice, and...know what a home can mean, sometimes. It's a....gracious invitation." It was sincere, at least, if a little awkward.
-
Mara licked her lips, body filled with that lazy, giddy energy that so often followed a good kiss, shifting a little on her feet. never get tired of that "Apparently," she noted, a little flushed. "But only tell the truth. Have a very nice butt, in very nice pants. Have a very nice everything. But think my favorite part so far...." She trailed off, completing the sentiment by leaning up to give the taller girl a soft, long kiss that started with a gentle brush of the lips and proceed into something a little more passionate.
