Dragonfly sat back, watching the humming parts do their job properly - or, at least, as properly as she'd been able to manage with what she had to work with - and sighed, flicking her multitool closed again. "Victory," she noted, rather redundantly. "May have to find whoever thought that decontamination was a good idea...and do something unpleasant to their coffee. And review any other projects they've been a part of, here or elsewhere. An accident waiting to happen." She got up, a little unsteady, and grimaced. "Yes. Looking forward to getting out of this room myself. Will make sure proper, lasting repairs get done at some point. Probably a whole overhaul...mmh. Will lock the door behind us, in any case. Room is not to be trusted."
-
"People are stupid," Dragonfly agreed. "Don't really regret 'missing out' on formal school most of the time. But certain people, you say?" Reaching out to her side, she pushed a couple books off a chair, spun it backward, and sat down. Folding her arms on the chair's back and leaning forward, she raised an eyebrow. "More interesting. Gossip! Share."

"Not skanky if you could pull it off," Dragonfly pointed out, "though maybe skanky if you did so literally. Am sorry if you got uncomfortable, though. Will try to keep these things in mind in the future." The young woman had a moment of silence then, part thinking and part just awkward, between-subjects quiet. She stretched a little, paused, and raised an eyebrow. "Becoming a pattern...? Have a history of 'basically hardcore flirting', intended or not, with people you meet?"

Dragonfly frowned, pulling a couple zip-ties out of a pouch and setting about binding the two villains. "Doubt you actually needed my help, but couldn't just stand by. Suppose it isn't in my nature." The heroine looked at him with a blankness fortunately mostly hidden by her visor. cannot be serious "Young woman, a little shorter than me?" she asked, grateful (for once) for the short heels on her boots. "Saw someone climbing out the bathroom window as I came in. Could go look for her if it's important."
-
Sighing - but taking small satisfaction in magic's inability to solve everything - Dragonfly fired up her gauntlets and space folded in around her, dropping her back out of nowhere in the middle of the restaurant. She immediately and dispassionately sent a twisting shockwave into the woman Ironclad had grappled on the ground. "Trying to blow a hole in the roof was not very subtle," she dryly observed. "Attracts all kinds of attention."

The things I do to keep a secret identity.... Move: Teleport in. Who is this mysterious woman? Where did she come from? Standard: Ranged Attack Roll vs. Rave (blast; Power Attack -2/+2) (1d20 + 9 - 2=17) Hopefully a grappling Rave has less than +8 defense. DC26 Toughness save, if that hits.
-
Dragonfly raised an eyebrow, frowning. "Flirt-" She turned just a little bit red, and coughed. "Didn't- I mean, didn't think that...mmh." Sighing, the young woman held her hands up and took a moment to compose her thoughts. "Will...address the second one first. Make more sense that way....I think. Didn't...ahh." right - censor that story - mmh "Didn't...have much of a...libido...for a very long time. Knew that I wasn't attracted to men, didn't think anything of it because I wasn't attracted to much anything. Bigger concerns. After that...yes, I suppose. Have known...can be hard to miss. Still just not used to thinking about it though - usually catches me off-guard. Or sneaks into a conversation." Her hands went back into her pockets, and she frowned again, some of the blush coming back to color her face. "Didn't...give enough thought to things to consider it hardcore flirting. Can see it in retrospect. Suppose I've been nearly as bad as you have; wouldn't think worse of you for it regardless. Not 'skanky'...just a fun conversation, I suppose?"

Their suggestion for Machine Control drives me absolutely insane, because every time I look at it I feel like I have a new and unanswered question about the limits of the power. If it's built as Move Object - even +Precise - then that implies some weird and unintuitive limitations; mechanically it seems like you're either using Move Object to operate controls, or to exert force to actually move the working parts on the machine. The former means that Machine Control would only work on machines that have physical, attached controls (which doesn't seem right; that's not Machine Control, that's straight-up Telekinesis with a weird limit), and if the power's Range [Perception] implies that you'd have to be able to SEE those controls (which is even worse!). The latter means that you'd have to have the Move Object rank to physically move things on the machine, making relatively simple or automated actions (have a car drive itself forward, have a large press machine crush a robot) require very high ranks of the power - and meaning that there's no difference between the machine's strength and your own (that is, the machine just becomes a descriptor for how you used your mind to crush a robot; you could do the same damage with an industrial press or a workshop's automated tin can crusher, even though the two have wildly different limits). I'm almost certainly overthinking things, but I just can't figure out how they intended this power to work, especially since the core book just had it listed as a power feat that was perhaps undercost, but far more clear (you can operate any machine within your Datalink range as if you were at the controls or had a remote).

"Hinged?" Dragonfly blinked, thinking that one out. "Reasonably flexible, but don't-- ah. Ah." Realization dawned on her face and she frowned, thoughtfully, arms crossed and one finger tapping. "Sorry. Not sure why cleverness enters into it though...just doesn't come up much. Think you might be the only person who knows for sure. Could be wrong. Not something people ask about - hard to judge." She gave a small, helpless shrug, and went back to a mildly concerned grimace. "Does it bother you?"

Dragonfly blinked, the eyebrow going a little higher, if possible, as she watched Jill get unsettled. "....feeling okay? Didn't say something weird, did I? Happens sometimes. Not sure what it would have been...." She frowned. "Sorry if I did. Social skills need work, still. Slow going without a social life. Not all of us can cheat bantering with a wisecracking brother."

She met the eyebrow with one of her own, tilting her head. "Looking for a date? Attractive, yes, but taken. And straight, I think; probably to her boyfriend's...regret. Boys," she snorted, shaking her head. "So just a friend, yes. Sorry to disappoint - no juicy gossip here. Did meet her on the job, though. Fighting hobos in the sewers isn't as amazing as saving Christmas, but it breaks the ice."

Dragonfly blinked, wiping grease off her hands as she stepped away from some project or another - it was a bit too early to tell what the large mass of steel and tubes was going to be (aside from a crime against physics and the natural order of things). She glanced at the nearest clock, and frowned. four hours - how - behind schedule - can't fix that now - mmh Sure, came the voice back over the intercom, with the weird distortion that meant she'd been either too busy or too lazy to walk up and properly use the intercom system. Could use a break. Probably need one anyway. Where?
-
Dragonfly made a face, shifting her weight a little. "Social life. Sympathetic, there. Not terribly outgoing...surprising, I know. Probably the longest single conversation I've had in a month, masks or not. Usually talk to people when I have to, or when they talk to me. Have...one other person I speak at length with? I think." She didn't seem too awfully bothered by that, though, and she shrugged. "Masks...awkward, maybe. Could always remove it," she teased, "if it bothers you. And consider: no mask, no hero work; no hero work, wouldn't have met to have this conversation in the first place."

"Do not pull anything," Dragonfly defended herself, frowning. "Do not lie, either, if I can help it. Very bad at lying - call things as I see them. You," she continued, emphasizing it with a poke of a finger, "are skilled, intelligent, attractive, fit, have friends, family, a goal, the drive to achieve that goal. Cannot comment on your ability to make out. A question to pose to your significant other, if you have one. Will assume you have talent there as well." She gave a little grumping noise, sticking her hands in her jacket and looking around her office. "...am very good at making physics shut up and sit down, though. Should get an outfit for that." One hand, still in her pocket, made a motion like cracking a whip.

Yeah, we'll probably need it sooner rather than later.... Initiative Roll (Speed of Thought) (1d20 + 7=19)

Ooh. Neat!

Dragonfly glanced from her friend to the grouped reporters and civilians and back again, something like a wry grin tugging at the very corner of her mouth. revenge "Yes," she agreed, a bit too loudly so that her voice would carry over the crowd, "a shame that Jessica Parker, Ironclad, of Dawes Tech was not here to make a speech. At least she's here to answer questions." That last bit was clearly directed at the gathered throng, though she was looking sideways at Jessica the whole time trying to keep a straight face.
-
"Gross but effective," Dragonfly corrected, wagging a finger. "Effectiveness is ultimately more important. More options, better strategy; better strategy, better odds of winning a fight." She shrugged, adding with a great deal of confidence, "Am sure you can find ways to use it that don't provoke vomit, anyway. Too clever not to."

Dragonfly had to force herself to tear her eyes away from the now-flying Protectron, promising to save investigation into his very interesting transformation for later. clever engineering - bigger on the inside? - always hard to tell - find a source of footage - investigate later "Will go by ground. Meet you there." She held out a hand and triggered her dimensional pocket...and nothing happened. Blinking blankly at her gauntlets, which were quite insistent that there was nothing in storage, the young woman shook her head and looked over at where she'd left her bike just standing at the side of the road. Grimacing and muttering admonishments at herself for being careless, she walked over and started it up, swinging around to point up the road and in the general direction of Hanover.
-
"Aaaah," Dragonfly observed, nodding sagely. "Not leprosy. Magic, glowing leprosy. That's fine, then." She did take the glowing fist seriously, at least, giving it a critical eye. "Admit it does look effective. Don't have many options besides 'hurt things' and 'temporarily store things', myself. Should consider less violent additions. Though...perhaps options that don't generate a gross mess."

She paused, hands still over her mouth. "....seriously?" Relaxing, and blush fading away, Dragonfly was quickly - and thankfully - distracted and started to just look...bemused. "Diseases? Incredible powers of healing, creating magic energy fields, and....having leprosy? Not so much a power as a regretted vacation in backwater India."

"What?" Dragonfly turned her head to face Jill, shaken out of her thoughts. "Lob them over...? Admit I get a little carried away with building things, but what did I-" She blinked, twice, and then started to blush so hard it looked like she was going to bruise. One hand came up to cover her mouth as she shook her head, giving what she'd been saying a more...critical look. oh god "S-sorry," she said, a little muffled. "Didn't....I mean, I don't- not really what I-"

She blinked. "Mmh. Thank you. ....an unusual sentiment. Can't speak for other 'super-smart types', though. Just...like building things. Getting my hands dirty. Craftsmanship." She shrugged, apparently not entirely sure how to explain it. "Mass-production is useful, machines building machines is fast...but doesn't have the same soul. Something to be said for doing it yourself, being good with your hands. Plus...it's fun. Like a puzzle. Satisfying to get dirty, turn something on and watch it move."

Dragonfly screwed up her face, focusing a little more on what was coming out of her mouth. "I...can talk like a normal person, if I have to. But I have to think about it. And as soon as my concentration slips I...lapse." She shrugged, helplessly. "My brain is too fast for my mouth, I think. And didn't - I didn't have anyone to talk to but myself for a long time. I learned bad habits." She shrugged again. "Usually save the 'normal person' talk for strangers, the very rare times I have to talk to crowds. Annoying to have to review every word I say before I say it, but don't want people thinking I'm...don't know. Autistic? Or...challenged, somehow." She tilted her head, remembering that there was a question in there somewhere. "Hands-on?"
