  1. Dragonfly just...stared for a moment, gauntlets on and halfway to bringing a hand up to blast the mysterious stranger who'd just waltzed into her warehouse. The second floor of her warehouse... Very slowly she lowered her hand, paying attention to what he was saying - and the fact that her defense system hadn't so much as twitched since he'd appeared. master craftsman - must be joking - doesn't look like he's joking - craftsman who? - suppose stranger things have happened? The violin and bow twisted and disappeared into her dimensional pocket. "Suppose," she said, quietly getting to her feet, "if you wanted to hurt me you could have done it already. ...guess I have to trust you." She flexed her hands, a rippling wave of distorted air traveling up her arms and across her form to leave her in full costume, and tilted her visored head at the...messenger. "Seem...oddly trustworthy. Lead the way."
  2. Dragonfly shivered a little to be back in the cold, but her priorities were elsewhere. Reaching out with a hand she brought Ironclad back into reality again, adrenaline wearing away and prepared for a joking insult or advice on making the transition in- and out-of-pocket less disorienting...and instead, got a person who looked like they'd gone from good health to pneumonia in the time it took to take the stairs. That froze her for a moment, and then her adrenaline kicked back into high gear again. Her phone was dialing before she even pulled it out of her pocket. "Dragonfly," she opened, not wasting any time and talking faster and with more frantic worry in her voice than she intended. "Jameson Airport, near the..." She looked around for a better landmark than a large airport, and realized what was right behind her. "The abandoned subway station. Need an ambulance for a hero, a police team for a powered villain - undead, strength, electricity; temporarily restrained, still awake and active - and a response team for a contained chemical attack in the tunnels. I...." She looked down at her friend. "It...please hurry. Please."
  3. A rare, quiet night for Dragonfly - she had no leads to pursue, and while she had a few projects sitting around they were nothing that couldn't wait. Down on the floor her little ball pet was bumping around the workshop, relearning the layout of her benches and shelves after she'd upgraded its mapping AI; the young woman herself had just finished one creation and was taking it easy, up on the second level loft in a comfy chair, some hot chocolate steaming in a cup next to her as she played her violin, letting herself let go into the music. Though she wore her gauntlets to practice playing with them on, her gear was shut off and with her eyes closed and senses floating away on the instrument and bow she didn't notice the glowing pattern that appeared on her wall right away....
  4. Glancing back and forth between the disappearing hobo and her best friend, Dragonfly swore, coughed, and ran to Ironclad's aid, one hand over her mouth as she made her way through the fog. Kneeling down, she put one hand on Ironclad's shoulder, and leaned in close to talk. "Hold still. Going to -" She paused, turning her head to cough. "- get you out. Try not to panic, and watch out for my bike. ....I'm told it's unpleasant. Sorry." Creases ran across her friend's form, and she folded away - but from Ironclad's point of view, the world itself folded up and twisted, warping in ways the human eye wasn't really intended to process before depositing her in a very odd Not-Place with a motorcycle and some odds and ends. Standing back up, Dragonfly looked around to get her bearings again and made a dash for the exit most likely to take her up and away.
  5. I'm assuming Ironclad's not going to resist, here, since she's in bad shape and weighed down by a lot of useless armor. Dragonfly's gonna run up and Pocket her - not the same pocket as zombie hobo! But Ironclad can probably admire her bike while she gets her breath back. Unless that nullify had +Dimensional, it also frees her suit from the nullifcation, and Dragonfly will be un-pocketing her ASAP.
  6. Dragonfly made a strangled noise as his hands wrapped around her neck, grabbing at his arms but not having an awful lot of luck getting free. This fight had rapidly, rapidly gone downhill. Ironclad looked frozen and choking, and the young woman herself was...well, also choking, but for entirely other reasons. no - can't - not physically strong enough to - come on work - work - work - work - WORK The villain holding her down, close as he was to her visor, got a view of lights flashing and dancing behind her eyes - and then her gauntlets lit up again, with a whirring humming noise that one would almost think was angry and offended, if machines could be such a thing. Dragonfly disappeared out from under him, folding back into existence a good distance away and coughing. "Where is your brother?" she managed, hoarsely. "I can tell you where your brother is." And she did, rubbing her throat and bringing her force field back up. But the vocabulary she employed wasn't awfully polite, not to mention that the answer was anatomically unlikely.
  7. Hmmm. Time to get inventive, then! Still Dragonfly's round. Try one: Extra Effort to reactivate her gauntlets. Extra Effort: Second chance opposed Device check vs. Nullify (1d20 + 8=12) ....dang you, dice. Opposed Device check REROLL vs. Nullify (1d20 + 8=14) That's...better. Dragonfly loses one HP; 6->16 + 8 = 24 on Dragonfly's end of the check. Horray! Her earlier grapple check (to escape) took a move action; she uses the rest of her turn as a second move action, to teleport the heck away from the crazy man.
  8. Heh. Without her toys Dragonfly has +4 defense, so yeah, that hits. Grapple Check (1d20 + 4=6) Yeaaaaaah, that's no good. Dragonfly begins her ten rounds of suffocation. DC17 check for the zombie to get out of the pocket. Dragonfly's turn: dang grapples! Grapple Check (1d20 + 4=10) Somehow I don't imagine he'll have trouble beating that, but she's gotta try! Post pending results.
  9. Zombie hobo has a DC18 will save to get out of Dragonfly's pocket.
  10. Dragonfly watched the 'baked potato' fall, reflexively taking a step back. explosive? unlikely - destroy his own project - not that it stops some - stun device - jury-rigged flashbang - too small for a- And then there was a horrible, awful noise over the speakers in her visor, and her devices went...dark. So did most of the rest of the technology in the area. She scowled, her gauntlets and visor shutting down and going dark, feeling...heavier, somehow, now that they were just cold and lifeless machines she couldn't touch with her mind anymore. At least she'd designed the visor to be see-through from her side, powered or not.... She nearly snarled, giving the hobo a look that could freeze water at a hundred yards. "What. Did. You. Do."
  11. Dragonfly's visor can't beat that. Device Check vs. Nullify (Devices), DC23 (gauntlets) (1d20 + 8=12) Dragonfly's gauntlets could've beaten that, but didn't! Oh dear.
  12. Dragonfly didn't have much time to enjoy her success before her friend was in trouble, and that had her full and undivided attention. Leaving the hobo inventor to deal with the aftermath of her attack, she turned to face the zombie and...disappeared as reality folded in around her, reappearing as reality simultaneously folded outward next to Ironclad and Ironclad's assailant. "Off." One lit-up, humming gauntlet shot out to grab the zombie at his shoulder and lines grew across his figure like creases in paper, the world around him folding up until he's vanished into a tiny point in her hand. "You okay?"
  13. Dragonfly's friend is in trouble! To the rescue (maybe)! Move Action - teleporting up to where Ironclad's being grappled. Standard Action - Melee Attack Roll vs. Zombie Hobo (Dimensional Pocket) (1d20 + 8=19) Well, he has no dodge bonus against Dragonfly, so hopefully that hits. Let's hope zombies have bad saves! DC18 Reflex to not get pulled into Dragonfly's pockets. If the attack works, she'll stay there. If the attack doesn't work, Dragonfly will go ahead and Turnabout back to her original position, to stay AWAY from that thing. IC post pending on results.
  14. Dragonfly snorted, already building another charge in her gauntlets. improvised flamethrower - must be kidding - always have to vent to account for the kick on something that small - amateur hour - amazed it worked with those materials at all She brought up her other gauntlet. This time she didn't have to spend her time aiming, and this time, there was nothing to shield her target.
  15. Ranged Attack Roll vs. Dr. Hobo (blast) (1d20 + 8=27) Ain't gotcher cover this time, Hobo my boy! DC24 toughness save.
  16. Dragonfly muttered something, snapping her eyes shut the moment she saw reflected chaos on the metal in the wall. She scowled, but opened her eyes as soon as the bubble went up and got back to work. "Few good things come from 'flush sequences'," she dryly noted, tearing a whole section of tangled, melted wire out of the wall and letting it float free at her side. "Whose idea, and how soon can we make them spend time in it?" She shook hair out from in front of her visor, reaching far into the wall to screw something in. "Working as fast as I can. Had to have happened in a way that would cause more trouble by just being shut down...never that lucky...."
  17. Reflex Save vs. Lightshow, DC15 (circumstance bonus) (1d20 + 6 + 2=25) Kein Problem.
  18. "I like my jacket," Dragonfly scowled, raising a gauntlet and lining up a careful shot at the hobo as he ducked behind cover. "It's a nice jacket. Looks good. Comfortable. Shouldn't talk if you get clothing from dumpsters." Deciding she had about the best line of sight on him that she could manage, the young woman let the shockwave go and hoped it would hit...something. Anything. For the fortieth time that day she wished she could get her wings working properly....
  19. Ranged Attack Roll vs. Dr. Hobo (blast; Accurate Attack +2/-2) (1d20 + 8 + 2=18) Cover! Curses! Well, if that does hit by some miracle, it's a DC22 toughness save.
  20. What's that? The dice aren't to be trusted? I agree, voice in my head! Dragonfly's Craft: Electronic bonus is +15. Skill Mastery lets her take 10, even under pressure; that's a check of 25, minus 4 for zero-G, minus 2 for (partly) penalized tools. Final check of 19, which is four over. An eight-minute repair job, at worst.
  21. Dragonfly winced, reflexively shielding her eyes from the arc as it passed. worse in here than I thought - a single coupler? - mmh "Seem alright. Lucky you aren't cooked - high-powered arcs. Speaks to the quality of your force field...should hurry." Frowning, she managed to turn herself around to face the wall they'd been heading for...and disappeared, the world folding in around her. Simultaneously the world folded outward next to the wall, where she reappeared and reached out to grab hold of anything to keep her from floating off. Hand to her belt, she pulled out her multi-tool and flicked it open like a butterfly knife. Quickly prying off a panel - and wincing a little at the state of things - Dragonfly literally dug in up to her elbows and started working. broken - broken - repairable - bypass - broken - horrible - who did this maintenance? - need a stern talking to - that part shouldn't even BE here - this part's brilliant - broken - bypass - bypass - repairable - broken salvage for parts Little bits of burnt plastic and twisted metal made their way out of the hole as she removed or discarded them, floating off behind her in an asteroid cloud of ruined parts and broken inventions. Every once in a while there was a loud sparking sound and a choice word in Russian, but bit by bit progress was being made....
  22. Fortitude Save vs. Weightless Environment, DC15 (1d20 + 4=7) Yeah, no. 'Can't take standard actions' is not something I really want to have right now. Fortitude REROLL vs. Weightless Environment, DC15 (1d20 + 4=13) 9 becomes 19, plus 4 is 23; well over the DC. Dragonfly keeps her lunch down, and has one HP left. Reflex Save vs. ????, DC15 (1d20 + 6=21) Whee!
  23. Sighing, Dragonfly brought her own force field back up and let herself be pulled into the horrible, nauseating room. "Always something small. Little things cascade into larger things...one of the major reasons this technology isn't commercial." Both gauntlets were charged, just in case, little flicks and ripples in space appearing now and again as she carefully scanned the room for hazards or damage. "Need to think about building automated repair drones. Could repurpose some of the construction drones...would at least allow remote piloting for situations like this."
  24. Short on Ironclad's heels, Dragonfly threw up a hand and unleashed a large, twisting shockwave in space at the smaller villain (Dishabille Igor? - mmh)...only to miss completely as her target spun around to watch Ironclad's plight in the ceiling. Dragonfly exercised her Russian vocabulary at that, moving up a bit in the hopes of getting a slightly better line of sight. Not the best start to a fight. One of those days?
  25. Surprise attack, you say? Don't mind if I do! Ranged Attack Roll vs. Short Guy (blast; Power Attack -2/+2) (1d20 + 8 - 2=9) Fail! Initiative Roll (Speed of Thought) (1d20 + 6=15) About average.
