  1. Dragonfly rolled her eyes. "Glad you're amused by the fear-manipulating, fear-reading monster. Please stop implying I killed it. Know very little about magic and demons, but highly suspect it's not dead. Never that easy. Probably better that way." She stood back up, feeling a little steadier on her feet. Reaching into one of her pouches, the young woman pulled out a handful of zip ties and started making rounds through the unconscious cultists, binding hands and feet. She was muttering something, although what snippets of it could be heard sounded Russian...and angry. "Too much to ask," she called back, "to suppose someone called the police already?"
  2. I foresee GK getting a lot of mileage out of his Transform and Create Object while he's down here.
  3. Gaian Knight moved like he was going to say something, and then realized that was probably not a very good idea - his mouth was pretty occupied keeping his precious air supply in place, and he somehow doubted he could make it to the surface if he lost the little thing. Though he could always go down through the floor...and then apologize for it later. What was the social etiquette for putting a hole in a monarch's floor, anyway? Sighing a few bubbles, he reached into his pockets and pulled out a small collection of rocks. I really hope they can speak and read English, 'cos I don't know...er. Atlantean? At a mental command, the rocks floated up into the air and remolded themselves, stretching and rearranging to spell out the best summary he could manage without 'borrowing' some of the surrounding room.
  4. Dragonfly glanced at Push, and then gestured at the building. "My thoughts are that it's a vacant bowling alley. With a hole in the door. Suits are likely the first piece of significant technology the area has seen in months. Years. Not entirely sure what you expected - already seen what the suits can do, know a suit is in there. Possibly with a person still inside." She sighed, crossing her arms with one finger tapping as she regarded the building. don't know much about the layout - could rely on knowledge of the suits? - should be careful how much I divulge - mm
  5. Master Plan roll (1d20 + 6=12) Appropriate. That's a meager +1 bonus, which makes sense. All she can do is relay some vague information on the suits themselves; she doesn't know the building and she can't really run the math. Assuming, of course, she gets the time to finish planning.
  6. Realized, belatedly, that it sounds like Dragonfly knows about 'cape's identity, and is exposing him. Not true! I keep forgetting what Supercape's hidden identity is, and it's getting me into trouble. She's just noting that he has the kind of scientific joy and show-off-i-ness that matches with her (heavily media-informed) view of science professors. If it's cutting a little too close for comfort, I'll go back and edit.
  7. Dragonfly moved to a spot behind the blast shield, and brought up her own force field just for good measure. "Supercape explained...mm. Will summarize. Potassium is an alkali metal," she observed, folding her arms and watching the experiment with interest. never gets old "Sodium, lithium....alkali metals react violently with water. Exothermic. Reaction creates hydrogen, produces enough heat to ignite hydrogen gas. Very dramatic, fun to watch. Makes storage difficult." She shrugged, eyes still on the experiment. "More details...would have to find a chemist. My knowledge is basic. Or have Supercape repeat explanation...very professor-like. Or so I assume from what I know about professors. Professional, at least."
  8. Dragonfly, with great hesitation, reached out and took the little box with such great care it seemed like she was afraid it was going to shatter or disappear on her. "I...thank you. Don't...don't have much experience with gift-receiving. Or gift-giving. Sort of...very overwhelmed by you and J-" She blinked, and quickly corrected herself. "Ironclad. I'll...can try to repay you. Somehow. If you ever need anything built, or fixed, or...." She gingerly pulled the pendant out of its box, holding it up to admire it, letting it turn in the warehouse lights. "Very pretty," she quietly observed.
  9. He chuckled. "My pleasure, ma'am. I couldn't exactly let them terrify everyone, y'know?" He spared a guilty glance at the dome, grimacing under his face cloth. "Though I admit I didn't really intend to give the one guy a panic attack. Never really had that happen before...I kinda wonder what his deal is. Looks like I'll have to stick around long enough for the police to take care of things...I don't think they're really equipped to chew through my stone. I should probably stick around until the zoo keepers fix up the pens, anyway." It's going to be a long day....
  10. Dragonfly slowly lowered her arm, panting as the emotion drained out of her. She took a step back, leaning up against a pile of crates and slumping with a hand over her face. get a grip - have to keep control - know better than that - oh god - hope that doesn't get out "What," she finally asked from behind her hand, "in the world....was that thing?"
  11. PH...jump good. Land bad.
  12. Dragonfly shut her bike off, pulling it - and her kit-bashed detector - back into her dimensional pocket. Her force field and shield went up immediately - she'd learned that lesson the hard way once or twice - but she just crossed her arms, frowning at what could have once been called a proper building. odd place to retreat to - opportunity familiarity - place of comfort? - long-abandoned - surprised it's still standing She tilted her head at the hole in the front door. "Subtle."
  13. Gaian Knight just shook his head, pulling a cell phone out to call the police, who were - hopefully - already on their way anyway. Making sure they knew that the villains were - for the time being, anyway - contained and ready to be properly arrested, he tucked his cellphone back into his coat and dropped down to ground level, peering at the two sleeping villains. "I'm Gaian Knight," he offered to the other heroes, wondering just how a gorilla got human-level intelligence in the first place. "I don't think we had time to properly introduce ourselves."
  14. Hey, who'm I to turn down threads. If you want Dragonfly around for that, please, feel free to send me a PM or catch me in chat when it gets going.
  15. Dragonfly was a little out of breath but soldiering on; inwardly, she sighed. out of shape - should exercise more - or build a motion-assist skeleton - danger of atrophy? - may as well build a whole battlesuit at that point anyway "Moving staircases. Escalators," she wistfully commented, sighing outwardly this time. "Could be nice to have here. Turning corners an engineering feat...possibly redundant with elevators. Mm." Making her way into the room, the young woman leaned against one of the hard and heavy plastic work tables, glad to take some weight off her feet. just had to put short heels on costume - even less than an inch - vanity hurts
  16. I'm assuming - assuming! - that being a well-funded chemical lab the work surfaces are either glass or a thick, non-reactive plastic. Let me know if I need to be wrong for some reason, and I'll edit the post.
  17. Dragonfly blinked. Could stick around; thank you, again, for the pet. I love him. Won't keep you if you're busy, though.... "Wouldn't take it very hard. First time Ironclad and I met I held her at gauntlet-point. Thought each other were villains. Actually tried to fight each other. Could have won that battle!" That last bit was called out in the exiting Ironclad's direction, teasingly. That shut her right up again. She blinked, looking at the little pendant. It was pretty fitting, but.... "Can't...I can't possibly. Looks expensive...have nothing to give back in return. Don't even know what I could...."
  18. Dragonfly shook her head, getting her frustrations back under control after seeing her emotion disturbingly echoed in Push's face. Holding out a hand, space folded outwards; handles appeared out of nowhere, rapidly folding out into her beloved bike. "Getting kinks of flight worked out still. Never enough time...get around by motorcycle. Not a stunt driver, but good enough." She frowned, tapping the screen. "Closest location isn't far. Can lead the way." just hope this lasts long enough to get them all - always unreliable making things in the field
  19. Dragonfly's mouth worked silently as she stood, all but frozen, staring at where the stag-headed thing used to be. how could he - he couldn't have - haven't said didn't think - think - didn't feel - oh god - always remember - bad enough - can't - won't - She spun around, the world moving in slow motion as she tracked the sound of fighting to where Cobalt Templar had run for cover. In an instant she'd teleported to the side, getting a line of fire on the fear-feeding abomination, firing a shockwave straight at its head with a face full of cold determination and anger. "Had no right. HAD NO RIGHT."
  20. Move Action: Dragonfly teleports to regain line of sight on Blozan (though she's still going to try to keep some distance - distressed at his revelations as she might be, she still remembers Ironclad taking off for the hills for no apparent reason). Standard Action: Ranged Attack Roll vs. Blozan (Blast) (1d20 + 8=24) Now that's more like it. DC24 Toughness Save, assuming he's still substantial.
  21. Dragonfly tilted her head. "Hm. Interesting." science unlikely - rare for mutations - magic? - mm - bothersome interesting curious "Any other information on your lesson? Chemistry is a very broad subject. Even when limited to a single--" She blinked, turning her head around. what? - nothing there - mm - thought I heard... She frowned, shrugged the thought off, and brought her attention back to Etain. "--single element. Many useful effects, entertaining effects. Suppose stairs are fine. Could use the exercise."
  22. Dragonfly tilted her head. "As good a plan as any. Not much on the street to give us an advantage...would just have to hit hard and fast. Maybe quietly...don't know how good the sound insulation is in this part of the city." She bit her lip, wishing there was something, anything on the street that could tilt the odds in their favor...but she just didn't have the information or opportunity. The street was too empty, the rooftops were unknown, the thugs weren't moving enough to offer any insights into their training or discipline. guess we'll have to go in blind - hate going in blind
  23. "Revenge," Dragonfly replied, with entirely too much satisfaction in her voice. "And science. The suits they are using are normally low-key, but their power source is...unique. A few years old...not as shielded as it should be, especially during and after flight. Gives off a signal in the--" She trailed off, looking up at the pair and blinking. "...nevermind." She held the device up, pointing at the screen. "Powersuit tracker. Boosted the range...covers at least the whole city. And now..." She turned her attention to the little blips that had appeared on the screen, grinning - not a happy grin, or a cheerful grin, but the kind of grin a predatory animal gives its next meal just before pouncing. "I can see you now."
  24. Oh, snap (as I believe the young people say). Very nice.
  25. She frowned. "Five five. Genetics...mother was tall and..." She hesitated, pulling the scarf around her shoulders to free her hands, which traced an hourglass shape in the air. "...attractive. Heels give less than an inch, if that...practical considerations. Vanity only goes so far. Suspect I won't reach my mother's physical standards, naturally or not - just annoyed it's come so late." and annoyed by cause - keep that to yourselfl "Not very acrobatic, don't tend to grapple. Have noticed the polarization - suppose I'd rather be on the tall end of the spectrum, if not truly huge. Will see how far this last delayed growth takes me."
