  1. Gaian hissed as he listened to the situation. "Kids. It just had to be kids. We can only hope to talk them down before things get out of hand, I guess. I've got more than a few...er, 'kid gloves' options up my sleeves, if it comes to that." He chuckled despite himself. "A half-dozen kids in dark clothes and jackets. Well, at least that'll narrow it down to half the teenagers in the city. We'll probably have to just be on the lookout for a big group, then." Shifting in his seat, Gaian Knight eyed the holographic map and shrugged a little helplessly. "I'm not really a great strategist, myself. Hopefully someone else has a good idea, here...I just hope we get a chance to talk to the kids before everything goes pear-shaped."
  2. Gaian chuckled. "Some measure, yeah. Don't let the sword fool you; I'm pretty awful with it - need some stone moved, though, and I'm your guy. And I've been stalked by the Freedom League, huh? I'm not really sure what to think about that. I guess if anyone's keeping tabs on the new guys, it's them." "What...? Oh!" He glanced at the table, then back at the newcomer. "Hah, yes. Good advice! I like my arms where they are." Taking a moment to look over the group, Gaian Knight had to admit they were sort of a motley crew, but in this city that didn't seem to mean much. It'd sure be educational to see them all in action; the newest arrival looked pretty durable, but that was as good as his guessing could get.
  3. Gaian Knight knocked before letting himself in, quietly shutting the door behind him as he took stock of the private area. This is a nice place. Very...clean. I wonder what it must cost to maintain...some heroes just have deep pockets, I guess? He waved, chuckling. "Hope I'm not too late. Got held up." Whose great idea was it to assign that last project? ...mine, I guess. Still. "Still not quite sure how anyone got a hold of my contact information...but hey. Anything for a good cause." He took a seat, any dirt and dust (practically a standard feature on his costume these days) pulling away before it could touch furniture, flowing across his coat into an inside pocket. "Are we missing anyone else, or was I the last to get here?"
  4. 'or something' - sure why not "Among other problems. Heart's working too hard, lungs can't get enough air, bones strain under the mass." Figuring his head was taking enough punishment, Dragonfly sent another blast towards his stomach. "Body's failing in several ways at once. Need to take him down and get him prone, relaxed, before something breaks or explodes." big - thick - wearing him down but could be faster - other options? - throw together stasis - poor materials - discharge to stun - induced sleep?
  5. Moar. Moar blast! Though if he's still on his feet next time it's her turn she's gonna have to try something else. Attack Roll vs. Freak (Blast) (1d20 + 7=18) DC22 Toughness, as ever, if that hits.
  6. Dragonfly frowned as she brought her hand up to attack in what felt like slow motion, her brain going into high gear as she realized something seemed...off. something wrong - seen size changes before - unknown symptoms? - side-effects? - red skin short breath poor mobility - oh - oh, no As she fired a shockwave at the guy, she was shouting to her fellow heroes. "Something wrong with him!" yes - obviously - well done "Body can't support his size - need to be careful and fast before he kills himself!"
  7. Ranged Attack Roll (Blast) vs. Big Red Thing (1d20 + 7=24) If it hits (haven't compensated for the thing's size, 'cos...well, 'cos I don't know the thing's size), that's a DC22 Toughness save. And I just realized that Dragonfly's DC Block says 21, 'cos it never got updated when I took her Blast to 7. Blargh. *shuffles off towards the Edit Requests thread*
  8. Sure. Though I warn you, having GK in the thread spells death for some reason. :D
  9. Force Field and Shield, go! Knowledge (Life Sciences) Roll (Eidetic Memory) (1d20 + 6=20) I loves you, Eidetic Memory. Also, as we may likely need it soon: Initiative Roll (1d20 + 6=19)
  10. Snapped out of her satisfaction by the sound of destruction, Dragonfly turned the corner and sprinted the last block or so, coming up on the alleyway barely in time to see the big red...something...charge Cannonade. abnormal - mutation accident supervillain victim bystander? - misunderstanding unlikely Sighing (day was so perfect - always complications) she brought up her defenses, carefully studying the half-naked threat.
  11. Blagh, prone. You hate me, dontcha. Why do you hate me? Attacking with her blast, 'cos that's all she has. Ranged Attack roll vs. Thug (Master Plan, enemy Prone) (1d20 + 7 + 2 - 4=7) ......no. Spending an HP to reroll, just to save face since she's accomplished close to nothing so far. Ranged Attack Reroll vs. Thug (Master Plan, enemy Prone) (1d20 + 7 + 2 - 4=17) Bah. It'll have to do. Hopefully his defense will be bad enough from the pin. Assuming it hits, that's a DC21 toughness save against nonlethal damage.
  12. noisy - but effective Dragonfly was only a step behind the others, holding out one gauntlet and firing a rippling, twisting distortion at the pinned thug. difficult to hit low targets - compensation? - indirect assaults - close-range attacks - power discharge explosion standing distortion.... "So much for stealth. Will leave an impression, though. Best to move quickly. Keep them off-guard."
  13. Dragonfly, likewise. Tasty, tasty Luck feat.
  14. Could get GK in on this, though he's not looking to make or join a group just yet. Still, threads are fun, and more needs to get done with him, heh.
  15. Initiative Roll (1d20 + 6=13) Not so awesome, but hardly the worst she's ever done.
  16. Dragonfly hummed happily as she walked through Waterside, an unusually large smile below the edge of her visor. She kept mentally poking at her gauntlets' dimensional storage the way someone pinches themselves when they get a really big gift, and every time there they were in the log - four large, dense black boxes, seals intact and contents unused. random lead - good source - minor expense for such a payoff - who knew? The smile widened for at least the third time that day, and she started humming to herself. SDXCs 012A, 015A, 020A, 021A - idiots didn't know what they had - not even a power source with them - easy fight - weapons off the street - beautiful beautiful day Stretching, she put her hands in the pockets of her jacket and kept on her way. She'd have skipped, if she thought it wouldn't attract strange looks.
  17. Putting her shield and force field up ahead of time, 'cos she's smart like that. Master Plan will go into effect the round combat starts. That's a +2 on your skill check sand attack rolls, folks. Use 'em wisely!
  18. She nodded, the distorted outline springing up around her again. "Surprise if we can get it. Confusion if we can't. Can push for the upper hand if we...hm, here." Kneeling down, she sketched a rough diagram of the layout of the street and how a trained guard would likely react, giving rough odds of countermeasures and responses. "...over here. Plan won't be effective forever, though. Predictions change. Odds shift. Act quickly." She stood up, dusting her hands off. "Other than that...ready when you are."
  19. She grimaced, but otherwise didn't move as she sent text back. "Sorry. Ideas?" As she waited for a reply she turned her attention back on the group below. worm unlikely to be authentic - clone illusion imposter impersonator delusional - woman likely authentic - powers unknown - build communication link to base - strategy? - frontal assault - exploit height to take out as many as possible - element of surprise - suit would arrive shortly - woman - moth - fly? - worm's abilities dependent on authenticity...
  20. Dragonfly leaned back against the wall, head nodding to the music. She didn't know the song, but she could appreciate the music. When the concert rolled around, it was sure to be one heck of a performance, and her mind was already ablaze with ideas and concerns. likely to attract supervillains - better armaments - performance enhancement? - practice tune platforms theoretical but may be done by then....
  21. flight - wingspan to weight ratio isn't - magic - so few rules Dragonfly shook her head, heading back inside to get her mocha. long walk home - will need the energy
  22. cute - likely not dignified - but cute Folding one arm under the other, she stared at the open phone for a bit without bothering to touch any buttons. Somewhere behind her eyes, barely visible under the visor, little lights danced as the screen twitched and flickered, bits of image and text flying by faster than could be caught. Finally, after a few minutes of being motionless, she tossed it back to him. "Now you have my...'digits'. Phone will also run faster. Probably voided your warranty."
  23. science....'chick' - 'digits'? Dragonfly raised an eyebrow, but didn't comment. "...hm. Have your phone with you?"
  24. "Aiming's the easy part. Point and fire. Not as interesting." She shrugged, putting the leftover ties back in their place, watching the binding spell. magic - unknown rules? - sustained power source - feedback? - need more information "Now? Probably...home. Apparently have work to do. Why?"
  25. Dragonfly glanced down at her cell - closed and in her pocket - as the text came in, knitting her brow. foul stuff - need to stop it here - trace it further up the supply chain - see how far it goes Without bothering to so much as touch the little phone she sent a message right back (complete with Knuckles' address): [Yes. Guarded, secure building. Possible magic warding. Debating method of entry, will keep you apprised.] Returning her attention to the thugs at the doorway, she bit her lip and spoke up. "May be best to make a frontal assault, then. Concentrate our forces. Block off rear door to prevent escape, hope there are no hidden escape routes."
