  1. Gaian Knight The Gaian Knight slid back a solid foot, but otherwise looked more disappointed than hurt - he looked, really, like the immediate resort to violence hurt more than taking a mech-scaled blast to the chest did. "Someday," he complained, "we're going to show up and meet someone who wants to have a nice calm chat over tea." Not that it didn't hurt, but he was made of metaphorical stone, not metaphorical iron. He'd had worse. "But alright," he said, sweeping his arms out. "School of hard knocks it is." His little shard of marble grew and grew and grew, shattering and multiplying into a great loosely-organized serpent that crashed and thrashed its way across the battlefield, stone-fanged maw howling silent defiance.
  2. Gaian Knight Toughness Save, DC25: 1d20+18: 23 [1d20=5] A bruise! As seems to be tradition for Tarrant. He's going to respond by (hopefully) softening up the bigger targets with his area blast: Blast 15 (Extras: Area [General, Shapeable]; Flaws: Action [Full]; Feats: Indirect 3, Progression [Area] 5 [15 to 750 5ft cubes], Variable Descriptor [bludgeoning, piercing, slashing]) [39/40pp] GM's call on what he can fit in that, but he's going to try to snake together an area that catches the mechs, and the Borans if he can, without too much collateral or friendly fire.
  3. Eclipse Eclipse shook her head, but didn't try to stop the troopers from running - their cowardice was between them and their leadership, along with the rest of their personal failings. She kept her blaster at the ready, though, jogging back toward Rock and Gor'an as its casing clacked back together with an angry, overheated hiss. "Have you considered surrender?" she asked, somewhat louder than necessary - her attention was mostly to the south, eyeing those trooper transports. Not for the first time, she wondered if she should pack or crew some kind of longer-range or explosive option.... "Looks like you came equipped for backwater militias, not a young Khan with something to prove and definitely not Rock here." She spared a glance at them, grinning enough to expose her double-canines. "Maybe if you show you have a good head on your shoulders, you'll get to keep it?"
  4. Discussed the battlefield layout with Thevshi! Lacking a sniping option or anything dropship-worthy, and without any other enemies too close at hand, Eclipse is going to get closer to Rock and watch the south - readying a blaster shot at any enemy troopers who get close enough, in the unlikely event they can cover that distance very quickly. EDIT: By request: Intimidation Check: 1d20+3+4: 10 [1d20=3] Alas.
  5. Gaian Knight Initiative: 1d20+1: 18 [1d20=17]

    Ghost [PL 12]

The little bits of derived sheet math are the bane of us all. APPROVED!
  7. 100' of movement allowing, Eclipse will close on the injured hunter and try to get him with her sword (variety being the spice of life and all). Melee Attack Roll: 1d20+13: 27 [1d20=14] Assuming that hits, it's a DC22 Toughness Save. (If she can't close to the hunter in that range, let me know and I'll revise!)

    Ghost [PL 12]

The only thing I spot is the knockback: I may have missed a modifier somewhere, but with +7/+5 Toughness, Ghost would have -3/-2 modifier.
  9. Gaian Knight "And that is officially our problem," said Gaian Knight, frowning out at the cruiser. "When we get a moment, we need to find out how that thing snuck up on us - we don't want any more surprises. Until then, though, what are the odds we can pay that ship a visit?" He glanced at the others, gesturing out at the view. "I don't know this Dovox, but if he's going to pick a fight in the heart of Freedom City he's going to have a bad time of it - especially with the likes of Fleur already aware he's coming. Our time's better spent making sure the ship doesn't retaliate by hitting the station or firing something unfortunate toward the planet. Thoughts? Boarding seems straightforward if we have the means to get over there safely, but it's high-risk no matter what."
  10. Eclipse Eclipse skidded to a halt as blaster fire rained past her, sparing a glance back toward the delegates. "I don't know who teaches you troopers how to prioritize targets," she said, tightening her grip on her blaster; it shifted, flexing outward and humming ominously. "But I was military once, and I'm kind of embarrassed just watching this." Her inhuman eyes glowed bright as she painted a number of crosshairs only she could see, and then up came the blaster - swept side to side it discharged a bolt per target, each curving unerringly toward bodies too slow or poorly-armored to stop them. "Back to school for the lot of you."
  11. This time, this time I remember that they are minions. And how minion combat works! Eclipse is going to take a full-round action to put as many of the troopers in a 70' cone as possible - if the troopers firing at the delegation are within that range she'll prioritize them, but otherwise she's just going to try to put down as many minions as she can. It's a targeted, selective cone AoE and she'll make a full power attack. Taking 10, that's an 18 on the attack roll and DC27 Toughness for anyone hit.
  12. Gaian Knight "Maybe," Gaian Knight allowed, but he didn't seem too put out by the idea. "You can never really rule anything out, and his name has a lot of weight and history behind it. But I don't find it likely." He shrugged, one hand working his piece of obsidian somewhat more than should be normal - while it still looked like glassy black stone it was deforming like clay. "It sounds like he's going to have his hands full re-forming his father's empire out of pieces that...probably don't agree with him on a lot of things. I'm no master strategist, but I'd bet that's going to demand most of his attention when he isn't running around lovesick." He shook his head. The obsidian had become marble at some point. "Plus, showing up to take over a planet with a long history of, ah, stubbornness is the kind of they they try when they have a solid empire and a whole army, or are just mad and desperate. It doesn't really fit."
  13. I think you've shorted yourself a bit on the Initiative rolls - your benefit would let Raven get a +15 there rather than a +10. The Utility Belt's Array line has gone a little sideways - it claims to be a 20PP array, and also claims to cost only 9PP instead of 10PP. The sheet's over-budget by 2pp (211/211 up top, 213/213 down at the bottom, while the existing version of this sheet sits at 211PP); is this intended to benefit from the next month's point total? If so, the top should be updated to match.
  14. Gaian Knight "Fleur would be ideal if we can get a hold of her," Tarrant agreed, rubbing his chin. "Damage control and diplomacy all in one package, plus a friendly face people will recognize. Let's hope she stuck around." "As for the sensors, you'll have to talk to the experts but that sounds like a good idea to me - even if we can't actually tie our systems together, we can share our data. If you think you can help on the Atlantean side of things, there's a technician on the far side of the room there who can probably help you from our end." He gestured, indeed, toward the far side of the room, pointing out someone who was trying to look busy. "Black hair with the wireframe glasses. If she can't help you, she'll know who can, and hopefully without having to turn one of our arrays inside out in the process."
  15. Eclipse "Ambassador," said Eclipse, eyes narrowing as the fight broke out, "you may want to join your friends in some shelter. I can't believe I'm saying this...but I guess we back up the Khan." All at once she was moving, dashing to the side and away from the retreating non-combatants as fast as her legs would carry her - which, it turned out, was quite fast indeed. Her gun arm lashed up as soon as she'd closed some distance, blaster emerging from her cloak to send several bolts of crackling plasma toward the troopers backing Gor'an - it wasn't enough to take them down, which earned a solid curse out of her, but hopefully it would draw their attention away from soft targets and potential hostages.
  16. Eclipse is going to circle away from where the guards and leaders are going, to try to draw some attention off of them while getting a little closer to the Justicar and his rogue friends. At 100' a round (yay Speed!), though, I'm hoping she can get just within 70' of them to fire a shot. If not, apply necessary range penalties! Standard action: pew pew. Ranged Attack Roll vs. Khanate Hunters Troopers: 1d20+13: 19 [1d20=6] Assuming that hits, it's a DC22 Toughness save vs. Damage.
  17. Eclipse Initiative: 1d20+8: 19 [1d20=11]
  18. Gaian Knight Tarrant...did not know what to think of this - and looked it, brow bemused over his goggles. "Well," he said with the voice of someone rapidly developing a headache, "I'll certainly take it over an invasion. If this is how he approaches romance, though, I can see why he got a solid 'maybe'." He ran a hand back through his hair, sighing. "I agree on the general plan, but we're going to need to get the word out to some folks and it wouldn't hurt to have some reliable locals on hand just in case. If he came in full regalia or starts throwing his name around and the wrong people catch on, we risk someone else picking a fight before he does. Patriot's well-earned enthusiasm isn't going to be unique, and not everyone has her sense of teamwork." He paused a moment before frowning, adding, "Not to mention that his idea of worthy heroism isn't guaranteed to line up with ours."
  19. Hello hello! Welcome. I didn't find anything too bad, mostly just some little notation things: With +8 Base Defense, Star-Squire would have a Flat-Footed defense of +4 (which is important and useful!); in the Combat section, this would read: Defense: +8 (+8 Base, +0 Dodge Focus), +4 Flat-Footed You've shorted yourself a bit on Star-Squire's Fortitude Save - you've bought 4pp of Fort, which would give you a save of +6 (+2 Con, +4). You've bought 92 ranks of Skills, rather than 93. You've bought Super-Senses 4, rather than Super-Senses 2; the cost is correct here, just the rank should be fixed.
  20. Gaian Knight "Agreed," said the geokinetic hero, still working that rock in one hand. "I haven't had as much personal contact with them, but nothing I've read from our reports throws too many red flags, and they're not openly hostile so far today. If they're here for something peaceful, we don't gain much by leaning on them - and if they're here to be hostile, I'd rather they be hostile here where we're strongest and can call in some space-worthy heavy hitters if it comes to that." "Which I hope it won't, of course," he added, one corner of his mouth pulling up into a small but self-aware smile. He'd been involved in a couple too many crisis situations to not have done the math on how long it'd take to get key parts of the station out through a portal while the rest hit other escape options, and he'd never liked the resulting numbers. "But still. For now we keep an eye on them and step in if a fight breaks out or someone tries some obvious shenanigans."
  21. Eclipse "Mm-mm," corrected Eclipse. She hadn't moved much - her hand was still resting easily on the hilt of her sword, gun arm (and gun, for that matter) hidden beneath the cloth of her cloak - but the glowing purple of her irises flexed as she scanned them over the newcomer. She'd long since had ECHO assemble the available information on the major players of the fractured Khanate, and he'd fed the relevant info into her HUD as soon as she'd laid eyes on the starburst. Granted, she'd only pulled that data because she thought one of Gor'an's rivals or enemies might cause trouble, or maybe she'd need to deal with (or cause) some dissention in the ranks. But this was...unexpected. Which only meant she should have expected it. "Too young - it'll be one of his sons. Probably Kinarr, 'less another survivor's come out of the black. What do you think, Rock - look familiar?"
  22. Gaian Knight "Well, that's not at all concerning." The Gaian Knight stroked his chin, studying the display and wishing he was any kind of engineer at all. "Better than the alternatives, I suppose. Let's keep an eye on that wormhole, for now - we don't know enough about what's going on, and if they came with an escort there's the off-chance something else may be coming in after them. I'm with Velocity, too - let's keep a Pegasus prepped in case we need to use it. Probably a couple, honestly." "You're not wrong about not wanting to look defenseless - I'm good friends with a dragon who loves her saber-rattling, and she'd probably suggest what you did. The problem with shows of force, though," he said, turning his head partway to look at Artificer, "is that it only works if you can back it up and we need to be really careful about picking our fights. We're a small world with some real bite - and a startling amount of space knows that - but we're still a small world. We don't want to look weak, but it doesn't always hurt to look humble."
  23. Eclipse Knowledge (Galactic Lore) Check: 1d20+10: 28 [1d20=18] Yay for enhanced skills.
