"I believe you when you say it is quite powerful," Wraith pondered, looking Sharl's 'suit' over. "I do appreciate you ensuring I have a snack on hand in case I get hurt, as well. Not that I plan to allow that to happen, of course, but...." She glanced up at the others as they made their introductions, standing up straight as she was distracted away from long-unseen friends. "Ah - of course. I am called Wraith," she introduced, bobbing her head in something like a polite nod. "I am afraid I will not be contributing much to the magic today, as it is...not something I can say I know much about. I am here mostly to support Ghost Girl, and if there is physical work to be done or something to fight, I provide...." She paused, three eyes unfocusing a bit as she tried to efficiently articulate what she was trying to say...and, apparently, decided it was best to show rather than tell. She raised an arm, hand melting and lengthening into several feet of simple, razor-sharp blade. "....other talents."

Dragonfly gave an amused snort at Cerulean's joke, though her attention seemed to be elsewhere - she waved a hand, and several of her drones re-appeared, dropping their concealment technology and lowering to the ground. All around the park, between its edge and any scattered groups of humans, neon blue holograms sprang up - the armored heroine's oversized image standing calm, passive, and utterly immovable. "Ladies and gentlemen and other intelligences," she announced in several voices...though the real Dragonfly didn't seem to share the pose, nor did she seem to be talking. "We promise that we are not here to pick a fight. Want to help, if we can. But times are dangerous and we can't assume nobody will pick a fight with us. Until things are sorted out, please keep away for your own safety...just in case. Needless collateral damage is for people who can't plan and don't care." She gave a couple seconds of silence before dropping the images, sending the drones cloaked and airborne again with another wave of her hand. "Probably unnecessary," she mused, silently re-checking her aerial feed for the umpteenth time. "Still. Would rather do it and not need to, than the other way around."

"Koshiro!" The metal sculpture that had been over by Eve turned its head, barren of any features except for three solid-black eyes, and where the head looked the rest followed - something grew several new legs to more easily crawl over the seats toward the rink, and then form spike tips at their ends to casually stride across the ice to one of the new arrivals. Then, at least, she returned to being humanoid - silver, nigh-featureless, but humanoid enough. "You," she accused, though the humming voice was entirely too friendly to back up the ire in the words, "are very bad at staying in touch."

"I was not going to ask. I might have implied some questions, perhaps, but it is not the same thing," the alien insisted, looking concerned...but amused at having her concerns caught out. "The bone - it is good progress," Indira encouraged. She was humanoid again, likely more for the comfort of her camping mates than her own, but she'd retained grasping feet long enough to gently usher Avro into the tent to keep him from wandering off. "Ours was perhaps not as fruitful. Avro caught you a small rodent, but I made him leave it outside the clearing so that it would not attract predators. Otherwise we saw one wild dog, but it was without a pack and moving away from camp." She sat, cross-legged, and studied her spectral friend. "You cannot sleep, but you can still rest," she pointed out, not entirely disguising the worry in the statement. "I do not know that I could offer you tips on human meditation, but you might at least find value in settling down and trying to relax or distract yourself? It is not good to worry so much."

"....okay," Dragonfly summarized, rapidly cycling her suit's internal displays through the spying drones' findings, "first off, your 'glorious robot savior' is bull####. About what you'd expect from an egomaniacal robot's pet project: humans, slaves, bottom. Robots - maybe transhumans - middle, suffering. Probably just robots, though; humans get little pity." She ticked a finger against her leg, frowning at one of the feeds she was getting. "Talos' lackeys are the only ones happy or in good repair, hoarding and flaunting resources. No surprises there. Whole area's pretty clearly devoted to his big head, not so much to actually helping anyone. Charities and good leaders don't erect statues, plural, to themselves when resources are limited. Best guess, Talos took advantage of bad situation - or caused bad situation - to carve a power base of slaves and dependence. ...does not necessarily mean rebels are right, I guess. Depends too much on methods of rebellion." "Also," the heroine added, conversationally, as her forcefield went up in the form of a twisted outline appeared around her profile. "Definitely troops on the way. We are noticed. Would very much prefer to not fight them, no, Cerulean, but strongly recommend we get people out of the area just in case. Could send a drone their way if no one has better options."

"If they find you, then you are not blending in," Indira pointed out, though it wasn't entirely without sympathy. Her leg had grown an arm, which was busy giving Avro skritches, but the rest of her seemed content to sit quietly and enjoy the fire. "Speaking from experience, it is a very important skill. It is...mmm. The phrase does not translate well," she admitted, even her third skritching-hand stopping for a moment as she wrestled with language. "You have a phrase...'sink or swim'?" the alien attempted, blinking. "It is like that. A chance to learn, under pressure. If you do well, and draw no attention, then you are fine. If you draw attention, then you have done something wrong and can learn - and are unlikely to be badly hurt before one of the city's many heroes intervenes. Omegadrones are strong, but in my experience are not so strong as to kill someone like you outright, even if they could act openly." The hand resumed its attention to Kimber's pet. "I feel that you could do well, if you chose to. If Eve and Kimber wish to be extra-sure, one of us could follow from a distance. You would not know where we were, or how far away, but we could step in if needed. It is an old trick for training new hunters."

Indira was simply sitting, idle, by the time Tarva came back - they'd apparently managed to pitch the tents, and from the scuff marks one of the stronger folks had dragged a couple logs into the middle of the clearing as well. It was on one of these that Indira was perched, still alien and bipedal...but, unusually, her head was flanked on either side by a series of long, delicate metal needles that extended up and back a few inches past the top of her head. She made no effort to hide them, though once Tarva had rejoined the group they retracted, melting back into the rest of her. "We could light a fire, if anyone would like and has a source," she offered, gesturing at the end of her log - the hand that gestured briefly extending out into something a bit like a saw, if the 'teeth' on a saw looked more like their namesake. "I understand that it is tradition, though I confess I am unsure who all of us would need one."

For the sake of the record: Dragonfly's activating her ESP (audio, visual), sweeping the general area for anything notable...and, paranoid intellectual that she is, to get a better idea of what's around in case they need to run, hide, or blow something notable up. She's not going to poke too close to anywhere that looks armed or well-defended, though. Not yet, anyway!

"...very impressive," Dragonfly admitted. She'd sprouted four blade-like wings when the show started; they hummed, fixed in place, as they suspended her about a foot off the ground to keep her out of the way of the sudden and unnatural growth. "Advantages of magic, maybe? Not much of a biologist, but have seen some of the science research; usually encounters thermodynamic problems...." She tilted her head up to regard the Goodman Building, and made a derisive noise. "Castle Greyskull? Maybe. Was wondering if it's where we'll have to fight Doctor Wily, myself...still, modification is concerning. Waste of resources in a resource-thin world. Ego problems? Makes me wonder what else got changed." Dragonfly raised a hand to her side, tilting it back to idly point at the empty air next to her - air that didn't stay empty long, as a half-dozen drones twisted their way into normal space and sat, awaiting direction. "Scouting pattern," she ordered, and they immediately shot up into the air...and disappeared, though having just seen them one could barely discern a ripple in the air as they moved outward, camouflage distorting the buildings and sky behind them. "Don't engage, don't get caught. I want the...what's the phrase. Lay of the land. While we...wait, I guess," she added, glancing at Fleur and Cerulean. Her wings disappeared again, no longer needed as she settled back onto solid ground. "Imagine someone will have noticed the new oasis."

I had to check, myself, on the Comprehend - and fair enough, as far as Nullify goes. I actually agree that it should be priced by descriptor frequency, it just isn't in the house rules quite yet. Leaving it at 21 with the room to adjust as or if that changes is a good call. Fair enough, too, on the 1 spare pp. I thought you might've just had it lying around, but more often than not someone's just dropped it in the math and I'd rather bring it up and find out it was on purpose than not and cheat someone of 1pp. Looks good to me. I look forward to many ice puns. Saves With +5 Con and 2pp spent, Frostbyte's Fort save should be +7, not +0. Frostbyte has +4 Dex, not +5; this leaves the final Reflex bonus correct at +6, but the side notation off by one.

Up from the depths! Somewhat less than a story high! Breathes water, flying through the skies! Sea Devil! Sea Devil! SEA DEVIL Abilities Enhanced Strength has been accounted for in the Abilities section, but Enhanced Constitution has not. Combat Knockback seems slightly off - the max knockback, as I see it, would be -5, not -7. Am I missing an extra -2 from somewhere? Saving Throws Entirely superficial, but there's a capitalization typo in "Enhanced COn". With a Wisdom bonus of +2 and 4pp spent, Sea Devil's Will save should be +6, not +7. Powers Equally superficial, but it looks like the power tally was done before the powers were put into alphabetical order. Not a big deal, but might want to nip that now before it becomes a headache for future edits. Equally superficial, while we're tweaking things: Three powers (Super-Strength, Leaping + linked powers, Swimming) aren't bolded. Misc As a formatting thing, Sea Devil's final pp tally appears to have slipped under Jessie White's sheet. JESSIE WHITE Combat Base defense has been noted as +3, but from the rest of the sheet I'm guessing it's supposed to be +6. Costs and affected stats should still work out as-written. Saves Reflex and Will are off, I'm afraid; with pp spent as noted the former should be +6, not +8, and the latter should be +7, not +5. Powers Super-Strength 4 costs 8pp, not 9pp. This is accounted for correctly in the pp tallies, though. Misc Jessie White's sheet appears to have had its formatting go all screwy on you, with the double-spaces and what may be a different font. The final pp tally is off: 32+24+8+18+17+50= 149, not 150. You have 1pp left here to spend somewhere.- 5 replies

Ooh. Techno-spirits. Neat! The whole magic/science blend is something that doesn't work out well often, but you have an interesting take on it here. Combat With a melee attack bonus of +5 and a Strength bonus of +1, Stormcrow's Grapple bonus would be +6, not +8, unless I'm missing something somewhere. Knockback is -(impervious toughness + half non-impervious + misc modifiers); with a toughness of +10 and no impervious or knockback-modifying powers on the sheet, Knockback should be -5/-1 Skills You have purchased 85 ranks of skills, not 80. Powers Your Techno-Fetishes device is under-budget; you allocated 40pp to spend, and only spent 39 of that, leaving you with 1pp to play with. Your in-array Comprehend power is cheaper than you have noted; Comprehend is a 2pp/rank power, but with a flaw (1pp/rank) and two drawbacks (-2pp) the final cost is a mere 1pp. This either gives you 3pp more in this slot to work with, or the ability to remove the Duration flaw. Nullify [Descriptor] is a 2pp/rank power; with one feat, it costs 21pp, not 31, as noted on both Stormcrow's nullifies. The powers tally line reads "8 + 18 + 24 + 1 + 1 = 52" rather than "8 + 18 + 25 + 1 + 1 = 53". The final number is correct in the final sheet-wide pp tally, though. Misc The final total at the bottom is off - you have paid for 14pp of bonuses to Saving Throws, but you noted it as 15pp; thus, you have 1pp unaccounted for (not counting other pp-affecting corrections, above) that you can spend there or elsewhere.

The assembled troopers got a good view of an Alarian's extra set of canine teeth as Eclipse ground them in frustration, but whatever was running through her mind could apparently wait. Instead, she jumped up onto the nearest piece of structure or rubble that gave her a better view of the group, and stuck two fingers in her mouth to issue a sharp whistle. "ALRIGHT! I hope everyone's enjoyed their break, because it is EVAC TIME! We've got a ship waiting for us, and after this mess it's not gonna be waiting long!" Now that she had their attention, she hopped down and started striding, with purpose, in the general direction of their designated pick-up point. "Grab the wounded, leave nobody living behind, and if it's replaceable and doesn't kill things, drop it - we're going now, double-time, before the Communion has a chance to start poking around our handiwork here! Move out!"

"You are welcome to the skies," Wraith concededs. She had finally found a rhythm: she was a dancer, moving to the beat of a drum you could almost hear by looking at her, ducking and weaving against incoming attacks with an unnatural, boneless grace. Unfortunately for the communion, she was also a blender. Every duck and weave balanced a lash of her claws, bringing her close enough to a target to whip out a many-knifed hand on a too-long limb to cut through one of her enemies. "I shall remain on the ground," she observed, digging a hand into one Antibody for leverage as she pulled herself just out of the way of another attack - and punished the attacker by sending her other arm at its face. "Let us hope that our friends work quickly."
-
"Haha - high ground! That's the spirit! That's a strategy I can really get--" Eclipse was cut off by the sound of the charges going off behind her. She knew that noise a bit better than she'd have liked - and something about the noise of this one, the order maybe, made the hair on the back of her neck stand up. She turned her head just in time to see the direction the building had started to fall in and immediately burst into action, blaster snapping to her thigh as she made a bee-line toward Roulette. "TOWER'S COMING DOWN ON US," she shouted, hoping the Zultasian and the crazy Terran could both hear her. "GET OUT OF THE WAY OR EVAC'LL HAVE NOTHING LEFT TO PICK UP!!" The rogue captain skidded to a halt next to Roulette, but only long enough to rather un-gently swing him up onto her back and then she was off again - slower, but with a speed and strength that betrayed the cybernetics not quite visible on the surface. "Swear to the ####ing #### gods," she panted, trying to ignore the feedback she was getting as she damaged, regenerated, and re-damaged her straining muscles while trying to rush herself and two hundred pounds of dead weight out of the way of a growing shadow, "if that ####ing Lor did that on purpose I'm gonna kick her so hard she's gonna fly into the sun still tasting boot."

....well, then. Eclipse will grab Roulette and get them both the hell out of the tower's path, though that puts her at a heavy load and she'll have to surge a third move action to get far enough.

"No, no food allergies," Dragonfly confirmed. She was double-checking something in her drone's holographic display, but she was apparently satisfied; she dismissed it with a wave, the little robot disappearing into whatever pocket dimension it had come from with an electronic chirping noise. "Bathroom is a good idea, though," she added, directing that last comment at Cerulean as they left the room. "Will probably do that myself. Never hurts; prevents awkwardness later. Suit...technically has facilities built in, for emergencies," the engineer admitted, "but prefer to not use them. Design still needs work. Plus, still has to be disposed of eventually. Conservation of mass."

The 'skin' on Indira's face started to pull back over nonexistent teeth again, but this time she caught the discomfort reflex. "If you attempt death magics on or near Kimber's remains...." She trailed off, and for just a moment her three eyes closed, body becoming perfectly still; the alien equivalent of a human taking a deep breath. "....no, that is a conversation for another time. We are her friends, and we are here to help, but the task is to retrieve, not to...magic, and not to over-much disturb bones that deserve their rest. ....though I am not sure 'magic' is a verb?" She blinked at that, momentarily distracted by the vulgarities of the English language. "Regardless, I also offer my aid in the digging. I require neither fire nor tent of my own, and can make more...precise, or gentle...digging tools of my own."

Assuming they're flat PL8s, Wraith'll Power Attack for -4/+4, giving her an 18 on attack when she takes 10. She'll move into the thickestgroup of baddies she can, and take 10 on everything near her, with takedown against everything in range (random number gods allowing).
-
Indira had disappeared entirely, though signs of her presence could still be heard - the rustling of a branch overhead, a bush to the side of their path moving in a way that couldn't be explained by the wind. Three almond-shaped spots in the darkness that somehow seemed darker than the surrounding shadows. "Yes, Avro," came a whisper from everywhere and nowhere. "They sing, and while they sing, only you are left to protect them - <show me your hunting spirit!>" A great silver spider dropped out of the trees right in front of Avro, half the height of a grown human and somewhat cartoonishly fierce - all thick, sharp legs and matte metal body, front limbs raised up in the air in a playful attacking stance.
