"I think I would prefer my energy not be used for such spells," Indira observed, frowning. "At least, not without need. Such a power is not one to be mined or...exploited?...for easy gain, perhaps? It seems...against the intent." She shrugged, pulling herself up into the truck in a way that betrayed her somewhat-greater-than-it-appeared strength...and, with the truck shifting as she did so, her somewhat-greater-than-it-appeared weight. "I may have to ask you to move to the side," she said to Tarva, in a voice filled with genuine apology. "I am...heavier than I appear. This vehicle should have no problem carrying my weight, but it may be less lopsided if I remain toward the center of its mass."

"'False dichotomy'," Dragonfly's suit-filtered supplied as she entered the room. She was flanked by a pair of football-sized drones, each of them fixing a curious, one-eyed gaze on the interdimensional visitors. "It's the name for that, I mean. Think I'm with the blue one; always a third option. Just have to look hard enough." "Sorry for delays," she apologized, raising a hand to Fleur in greeting as she made her way through the room. "Was carefully explaining to gang members why you don't deal guns in this city; am sure they will remember the lesson when they wake up. Is that the device? Dimensional transporter? Heard that arrival burned up part of the forest. Inelegant."

"If Communion have their way, won't be so much 'shouting' as 'screaming'," Dragonfly deadpanned. The lines and glass in her suit were glowing neon, and that glow was accompanied by an ominous hum. Periodic lightning-like twists in space arced off her gauntlets and back, though they appeared to go straight through the ship itself - like an effect with bad clipping. "Heading to Miss Americana's ship to see what we can do from that end. Boosting immunities is a good idea - recommend pursuing it. Leaving a drone with you - get its attention if you want mine. If it disappears, I just got too far away. Good luck." They were apparently now within range of whatever she was doing; there was an awful noise and a wave of air pressure like space itself had experienced whiplash, and she was gone. Or, depending on your perspective, she had suddenly appeared out of nowhere. "Hello, Americana," she said, suit spinning back down. "Small universe. Time to get to work?

For record-keeping: Dragonfly's stunting a long-range accurate teleport off her main array. This costs her 1 HP.

Gaian Knight paused for a moment, looking at Frost, before shaking his head and stepping past him. "....no. They've been allowed to cause too much damage already. Tiamat, please do what you can to get Frost unstuck." She made a growling noise, but it died to a grumble when he glanced back, eyes already glowing through his goggles. "Please." When his head turned back to the Communion it was with all the urgency and pity of an earthquake. His platform had broken apart entirely, and the cloud of debris seemed to be multiplying: twisting and churning as it became a storm of shards and stones, a maelstrom of angry earth which - at his gesture - reached out into the room to tear through as much of the invading force as it could. "If someone can get through all of this, we need to figure out what they've done and stop it before it's completely out of our control."

GK will not be cutting off hands today. He will switch to his area attack and sweep as many antibodies as he can safely manage in a 65* 5'-cube general attack, though. DC23 Reflex for half, DC28 Toughness.

"Wh--Americana?" The stunned blink as Dragonfly's mind shifted gears was almost as audible as her incredulity; as she realized how wide their options had just opened up, though, her tone became somewhat more animated. "That's...yes, okay. Would very much like to. Had considered it as an option earlier, but not viable solo. Together...yes. Plans. Mmh." She paced, tapping a finger against her leg. "Communion's basically a massive network. Seems like we should be able to mess with that. Dangerous, though. Communion's trying to overload Gorgon with nanites; active ones near worst of fighting may be too dangerous. Could try from a ship; heavy risk to you, though. Poses danger to feedback and to your...luggage. Can try to make it over to you to better plan, though."

Gaian Knight was just getting his senses back together when something slammed into the platform next to him; he'd rolled his head to the side to see none other than Tiamat, who was having difficulty reconciling a growl and an attempt to get air back in her recently-evacuated lungs. "Nice catch, knight," she groaned, glaring up at the antibodies as if daring them to try something. "I do what I can." "Uh huh. Gravity's back on." "I noticed." The geokinetic didn't quite get back up onto his feet, but he did at least haul himself back into a sitting position and gesture, hands glowing. Rock from his platform flowed out like something alive, crawling up the shaft round them and then back together like a lattice of vines. They grabbed and wove at anything in their path - though mostly each other - until they formed a near-solid plug in the shaft that wouldn't let anything bigger than a seed through. "Going down?" He didn't reply, but the platform broke free of its new anchors, leaving the crumbling 'roots' of his elevator plug behind as it carried the pair down into further danger.

Full-Round: GK will Create Object a shaft-spanning plug to stop the antibodies from following them (or, at least, from following them easily!). SURGE: Move Action: Drop GK and Tiamat down the shaft as quickly as he can safely manage.

Toughness Saves vs Antibodies, DC23: 2#1d20+15 19 20 2x bruise. And y'know what, I'll just take 'em - though she may have to do some eating next round.

"They have chosen for us," Wraith observed, narrowing her eyes. "Move swiftly, strike hard, and do not allow the technicians to come to harm." And then she was gone. The young kinigosi put the 'quick' back into 'quicksilver' as she hurled into the group of antibodies, lashing recklessly at anything within reach - too recklessly, it seemed, to do any real damage. Her attention seemed to be on drawing their focus, however, and her movements left her with careful avenues out of the group should she be needed elsewhere...for however long she could keep it up. "I am Dirinai, warrior-caste of the Kinigosi," she announced; it would have been a polite introduction if her arms weren't flowing down into twin scythe-blades that looked like they could cut the light gleaming off their edges. "I am death. May your own reaper-gods be as merciful and swift as I."

That...would have been smarter. I'll stand by my mistake, though, to better teach me to pay more attention when posting tired. :)

Wraith's current shift from the earlier fight, for ease of reference: Elongation 2 [2pp] Speed 1 [1pp] Strike 5 (Feats: Mighty, Power Attack) [7pp] Standard Action: Charge. Melee Attack Roll vs. Antibodies (Charge +2): 1d20+12+2 15 .....really? Okay, sure. In the unlikely event that actually hits anything, it'd be a DC22 Toughness save. I somehow doubt she'll have made the impression she wanted; so much for getting their attention and forcing them away! Move Action: Shapeshift, trading Power Attack for Improved Crit. 1. Hope springs eternal. She'll be interposing for the squishy non-heroes as needed, and is at -2 defense until her next turn.

Indira had been smiling at Kimber's rapidly-crumbling resistance to the hunt, but at Tarva's conjuring she froze, and her smile pulled back - or peeled back, more like, corners tearing across the sides of her face and lips sliding back to reveal an awful lot of pointed steel teeth. Her Cheshire's nightmare of a grin disappeared as quickly as it had formed, leaving her slightly less amused as she gave Avro a final scratch and stood up. "We should get a head start on our trip," she suggested, smoothing her shirt. "In the worst case, we can camp partway there so that those who need it can rest, eat, or sleep."

Heh. Initiative rolls might decide what they're doing! Given the option, Wraith's still going to try to draw some of the Communion off their posts; she doesn't like the odds of trying to wedge non-combatants through a group of enemies. Too hard to guard all the soft targets at once. She's not going to have much of a choice if Bliss launches an attack first, though. Initiative Roll: 1d20+7 21

"Aw, for...." Eclipse clenched her teeth, tightened her grip on sword and blaster, and became a dervish: a spinning, deadly engine of steel and plasma that cut a path through their enemy...but there were just too many. "Clean up this lot and hit the next from range!" she shouted, impaling an antibody in front of her, then pushing it off her sword with one boot so she could turn and impale the one trying to catch her from behind. "Anything you've got that'll take out chunks of 'em before we close to range, use it!"

Back to the sword, why not, so that she isn't stuck standing in place waiting to get run over by giant monsters? Melee Attack Roll vs. Antibody Regiment 4: 1d20+13 30 ....bleh. So close to a crit. Soooo close. DC22 Toughness vs. damage.

"He is merely restless," Indira defended, crouching down to offer Avro a careful scratching. "He does what feels natural to him. I do not blame him - leather is pleasing to claw at. I find it difficult to resist, myself, sometimes." She smiled, glancing at Eve and Becky with a friend's fondness. "Do you think he would be better if he had something proper to hunt? Or perhaps that would only encourage poor behavior. It could not be like the leather, either way - that is cow, I think? Cows are not good hunting. Avro deserves better prey."

Dragonfly turned her head to look at Geckoman, but behind her faceplate the young woman's expression was indiscernable...at least, until she made an extremely odd noise that turned out to be her voice filter's corruption of a snort. The snort became a chuckle and the chuckle became laughter until, armor and all, the famously dry and nigh-humorless Dragonfly was hunched over as if bearing the weight of a joke her lizard-themed friend wasn't in on. Still, it only took a moment to straighten back up and, uncharacteristically, pat Geckoman on the shoulder. "Yes. Sure," she said, in perhaps the least reassuring tone she was capable of. "Will..ahaheh...will prevent them from dragging their idiot father over coals. Why not. Will at least prevent them from killing him until Gina gets a piece." She set back off toward the house, gesturing at her drone to follow. "Not actually sure where you can find coals around here," she mused, as if it was a perfectly reasonable think to wonder. "May have to run a search. In case it's needed."

"Perhaps I was not clear," Tiamat growled, nearly shoving Frost's head into the wall as she maneuvered her way into the stairwell. "I am not your friend. I am not your companion. I do not 'come along'." She kicked off the stairwell, launching herself down the gap in the stairwell toward darkness. "If the earth mage did not count you as his ally and act as a neutralizing force," she explained, a voice and glowing red eyes in the darkness, "I would blind your goddess long enough to cast you, screaming, into the coldest void of entropy I could find. Now let us drive the Communion from this station before they give you a harsh lesson in why mere men should not play gods, hanging death and fire in the sky above their own."

"We could, perhaps, create cover and distract them," Wraith pondered, quietly counting their enemies. She didn't like those odds; without the technicians she'd be confident in at least the stealth approach, but while having to keep them safe and while trying to get them to their objective.... "With enemies above distracted, we could attempt to draw some or all of the ground-based guards away; I am fast and tough enough to lure them, I think, but only if I can get them to chase me. Then it is a matter of getting our friends through the plaza into a more...defendable position, and keeping the Communion busy. We must decide quickly, however. We still have them behind us, and soon we will have no choice at all."
-
"I would not say anything, no," Indira quietly confirmed as they disembarked - she'd paused a moment to grow a simple, lightweight mid-length jacket in a pleasant shade of darker purple, but otherwise didn't bother pretending the change in temperature bothered her. "If she is as eager to please as you think, it would only encourage unhealthy habits. If she is not, it may take you down a path you are not yet sure you wish to walk, mm?" She waved to their greeter, well aware that the jumpsuit-clad woman was unlikely to be in such a hurry to meet her, exactly. So, greeting done, she carefully stepped aside and cast her eyes around the area, taking in the sights. "....do you suppose they would allow me to hunt a bear?" she pondered. "I hear they have good bears here."
