  1. Hrm. Unless she's aware of any non-supers in the area who might be in trouble, she'll probably start heading GK's way. Let me know if anything would stop her or get in her path - otherwise I'll throw up a filler post for her action.
  2. "I have a slightly abstract understanding, yes," Indira admitted - she couldn't quite suppress her laughter as her 'clothes' melted back into more sensible - and more comfortable - attire, khakis flowing down over her legs and her top smoothing out into a sensible long-sleeved shirt in her customary purple. "I was quite serious when I said the layers were difficult, however. I do not think I could wear such a thing all day without being very distracted! Or," she added, laughing, "perhaps without distracting others. I should remember what it looked like, maybe, in case it becomes useful one day? I prefer to not be seen, but there is value in lures and subtle misdirections. Or...not-subtle misdirections." She smiled warmly, brushing a sleeve smooth. "It is good to see you laugh, though. Your...presence?...is always brighter when your cheer is genuine."
  3. "I apologize for 'losing my cool', a bit. And it is the eyes, I think," Indira mused; those eyes filled in with black void, and her forehead briefly split open to reveal an amused third eye before all features returned to normal again. "I have perspective to spare. Though I do not claim to always be right; I think, sometimes, it simply helps to have a...would you say, 'alien' way of seeing things?" She hummed, enjoying her rare opportunity at a pun, and looked down at herself: tank top and khakis twisted and darkened, taking on a facsimile of Tarva's outfit...or, at least, as close as she could get from memory and without practice. "I shall take your word on the clothes," she said, dubiously picking at a bit of the self-made mesh. "They are very revealing, but Kinigosi attraction is as much movement and smell as looks. The complexity has some appeal, I suppose; the layers and patterns are quite difficult and unusual."
  4. Eclipse was liking this less and less; with a glance back at the mole-slug, she uttered a choice Alarian phrase that darn near turned the air black and planted her feet, parrying one last swipe before grabbing her blaster with her free hand and laying down some impressive fire for its small size. "Keep pushing!" she shouted, a seemingly endless stream of plasma bolts snaking and hissing through the air - near friendly targets, but never at friendly targets, the gun or its wielder bearing an almost prescient sense of aim and the flow of battle. "Keep an eye on your flanks! And heck, if we can get in there maybe we can make our giant, ground-eating guest do some of our work for us!"
  5. Eclipse'll risk holding still long enough to put some area hurt on the stuff in their way. Full-Round: Ranged Attack Roll vs. Antibody Regiment 4 (blaster: area): 1d20+13 19 I think that hits; glad I didn't go for the trade-off. DC22 Toughness base, +2 for the area attack - DC24.
  6. "As long as we can get there, we'll be okay," Gaian Knight insisted, orienting himself in the lift shaft and starting a descent that was less flight and more dropping like a...well. Like a rock. "One step at a time. There can't be an infinite number of these things - if we can get the station back up and running, and clear them out as we see them, maybe we can--" He never got to finish the thought. Too late, he saw the antibodies lying in ambush - he couldn't feel his surroundings out without physical contact, and the nightvision on his goggles left his sight too limited in scope and detail to notice them before they were already on top of him. One didn't get much purchase, his not-entirely-human-anymore biology absorbing the brunt of the attack, but the other had better fortune and dropped the geokinetic hero flat on his own platform mid-sentence. This, he thought to himself, back burning as he tried to clear his head enough to mount a proper defense...or keep from falling off his platform into the darkness below. This is going to hurt.
  7. Fortitude Saves vs. Antibodies, DC25 (1d20 + 13=15, 1d20 + 13=16) ....well. Uh. Okay. I guess I'll take the 16 and re-roll the 15. Fortitude Save REROLL vs. Antibody, DC25 (1d20 + 13=30) That's more like it. Why didn't you roll like that the first time, GK? Dazed + bruised, and GK loses an HP. And against my better judgement, that potentially opens him up to knockback...which could knock him off his platform. GM's call.
  8. Knowledge (Current Events) Check (1d20 + 9=21) Knowledge (Galactic Lore) Check (1d20 + 9=20) Knowledge (Technology) Check (1d20 + 17=29) Dragonfly knows many things! Yaaaaay, Eidetic Memory.
  9. Notice Check (-4 Nightvision Goggles) (1d20 + 15 - 4=22)
  10. Likewise, I think - let me know if GK is going to run into anything as he moves down there, otherwise I'll just fluff an IC post of him on the move, if I can.
  11. "Not a great shot outside of suit systems," Dragonfly admitted. She took a moment to look back toward the Gorgon, expression unreadable under her metal helmet. encrypt recording - transmit to warehouse on sympathetic link - time delivery to Jack if I fail to check in She waved a hand, one drone holding steady as if processing something while the rest scattered across the ship. "Will assess damage and repair what I can, though - existing damage and stress, any new we incur. Have a couple tricks I can try if they get close enough, but would prefer they didn't."

  13. That, finally, earned the ghost Indira's Patented Look of Disappointment; the effect was somewhat restricted by having only two, smaller eyes to work with, but it was unmistakable none the less. "YOU are the real you," she corrected, poking a finger into her friend's intangible chest. Her tone of voice implied that she wanted rather badly to smack Kimber upside the head. "I do not pretend to know what it is like to be in your position, but you are being...what is the word. Ridiculous," she insisted. "It is a problem right in your human languages," she added, throwing up her hands in uncharacteristic frustration. "Humans insist you have a soul. No. No, you are a soul, you have a body and you of all people should know the difference." Indira sighed, smoothing her hair a bit and recollecting herself. "It is not...you are a different you, perhaps a new you, but connected to who you were. You have changed, but every good living thing does that anyway - I am not the Indira I was ten years ago, though my change is less traumatic. You have forgotten, but that means rediscovery, too; a chance to grow new. It is hard, and I do not deny this, but...I...I am not you," she sighed. "I cannot speak for you, and I cannot claim it is easy. Parts of your life now are tragic. But some parts of it are only tragic if you let them be."

"Nonexistent," Dragonfly confirmed - in keeping with her role as bodyguard and escort she kept her tone as flat and professional as she could. In better circumstances it might have actually been fairly fun. "Points for politeness, but people who try to steal babies do not keep their toys. Mine now. If it helps, haven't broken it down for samples yet, and probably won't in near future. Maybe. Makes me happier as a trophy. Also, in fairness:" She brought up a hand, pointing at the drone hovering at eye-height next to her; it had been occupying itself by studying Nassor, and on cue its large, neon-blue lens flushed red. Behind her, a series of matching red lights lit up around the school, cloaked drones making themselves known. "Cause trouble and somehow get past others, and fire will not be your problem."
  15. "Wouldn't be rational to betray you," Dragonfly pointed out. She'd brought her force field up, armor alive and humming - though, for the moment, only defensively. Her drones, too, had pulled back: they were arrayed around her in a vertical half-circle, like an absurd mechanical halo around her entire upper body. "Too high-risk, gains nothing. Clearly aren't Communion drones; Communion doesn't seem to do 'subtle'. Plus, conversion leaves obvious signs. Couldn't have known you'd take us inside, you interact with people too little. Would have already done damage while inside, if we wanted to - had the chance when you cut out, before Communion showed up." She cocked her head at the holograms, frowning. too many "Let us help. Best case, fight by your side, sign of good faith. Repel or escape Communion. Worst case, if you think we're still traitors, less dangerous to you out there than in here. Win/win. Need ship intact for that, though."
  16. Eclipse put her blaster away and drew her sword in one smooth motion - and whatever that sword was made of, it had held up a lot better than the travel-worn scabbard. Its metal shone like it was new, curved form engraved with what looked like a stylized, alien bird. And like a bird, Eclipse dove into the melee, blade slashing and parrying an abundance of targets. But, like a bird, she might perhaps have been better-off at a distance: while her presence gave them something to think about, her enemies were too many and too much of her time was spent on defense to really do much damage. She spared a glance back, eyeing the distance between that...thing...and her troops, not to mention everyone else's. Not for the first time, she wished for air support...or the opportunity to take cover and engage from range.
  17. In the interests of variety, Eclipse will move into melee and melee it up with the sword. Melee Attack Roll vs. Antibody Regement 2: 1d20+13 15 ...well, that's...not the best. If that doesn't hit, I'll reroll...
  18. It seemed to take Indira a beat to process that concern, but her eyebrows rose as the implication dawned on her. "Mmm...I forgot that was a...problem. Kinigosi do not...." She gazed out the window for a moment to collect her thoughts on the matter before turning back to Kimber with a look of great sympathy. "It is...perhaps not helpful, but I can offer my perspective on your other problem, which is this: it does not matter. That is, it matters to you," she corrected, holding up a hand, "but labels and greater concerns should not. You will be attracted to who you are attracted to, yes? Humans place too much importance on gender over the individual. If you find yourself liking many girls, then perhaps you are attracted to girls. If not, then there are simply exceptions. But it is not worth...'fretting'?...about what could be until you are there." "Humans believe feelings come from your heart, yes?" she asked, cracking a half smile. "Or...other places, depending on the feeling. Let them tell you what you like, without fighting it. Perhaps you like boys, or girls, or warrior couples, or...ah," she paused, ducking her head and cutting off that tangent, "or...whatever. Let it be a discovery, an adventure, not a worry." "But Tarva is...less easy," she admitted, folding her hands back in her lap and sighing. "I do not know that you cannot talk to her about it. It would be unpleasant, but if you were very clear about what was happening and why you think it could not work right now, it could help both of you. I do not know her well enough to guess how she would be affected, however, and you may have to be very firm in...not letting her misunderstand or accidentally take advantage."
  19. If the Communion antibody that had tried to harm Wraith was capable of feeling regret, it at least didn't have long to dwell on its misery. Its attack on her metallic body had met a distinct lack of resistance when it hit her metal flesh - flesh that immediately locked around it like steel, leaving it trapped and completely unable to defend against a vicious counter-attack. Its companion fared little better. The drone's attack had carried it past her when she'd dodged, but if it thought that put it beyond her reach it was sorely mistaken: she turned a three-eyed face toward it and lashed out, her free arm extending far beyond its normal reach to neatly claw through what she hoped were still vital areas of whatever it had once been.
  20. Wraith'll just continue the beatdown on the two volunteers who stepped up to fight her - starting with the one who actually got a shot in. Move Action: Elongate to extend her reach (+10' max). Standard Action: Ginsu things. Base Attack +12, All-Out Attack +1/-1 (yaaaay house rules), Power Attack -5/+5; taking ten for an attack roll of 18, which should just hit. DC32 Toughness vs. damage for her target, and she'll continue on to takedown anything within range. Wraith is at -1 defense until her next turn. For the time being, she'll be Interposing for the technician closest to the fight, if able.
  21. Extra Effort Power stunt: Temporarily add a power feat to a power. This includes an Alternate Power of an existing power. ... The temporary power feat lasts for the duration of the encounter or until you choose to stop maintaining it, whichever comes first. This includes turning off the power or switching to a different Alternate Power. (Core book, page 120)
  22. "....I see." Indira had expressed, in the past, the relative discomfort that came with the eyes of her human 'diguise' - it's why that part of her human form slipped more often than others, in-between blinks. But there was no blinking this time: the pupil expanded to engulf everything around it, actually pushing past the edge of the eye itself to widen and elongate its shape into a semblance of her true, alien anatomy. The effect was unsettling, but apparently reflexive and short-lived; as she settled into a frown, it reversed itself to return her to her normal, brown, human eyes. "I did not know," she said, voice somewhere between the desire to hurt someone and new-found sympathy for the devil. "It is a concern, then, yes. It does not help you, but perhaps with time she will come to see otherwise? It is difficult to imagine how much damage was done already, before we met her."
  23. "Oh. I...mmm." Whatever Indira had been expecting, it clearly wasn't that - thankfully, Tarva's exit gave an excuse to her reflexive (and, in her state of confusion, disturbingly boneless) head turn to glance back at the woman in question. "You...could...challenge her to ritual combat, and claim several minutes as your prize?" she weakly supplied, though from her tone it sounded more like a cultural joke than a serious suggestion. "I do not claim to know much about human relationships. I...cannot say I entirely trust Tarva," she admitted, frowning - though it was directed at where the spellcaster had been, not where Kimber was sitting. "By her own admission, she did many terrible things, willingly. Even great pressure or threats do not fully excuse such actions. They make her sympathetic, but such a...redemption, is the word? Such a redemption will be slow and difficult, perhaps life-long. And though she is grateful to have been saved, we do not yet know what she will be like when she begins to feel more free, or...." She sighed - apparently it had been her turn to babble, and she took a moment to compose herself. "I...have concerns, if you were to choose to pursue such a thing," she summarized, smiling weakly. "But I do trust your judgement, and I am perhaps not one to judge, having been single for so long. Perhaps I am being too cruel to her."

"Yes," Mara replied, standing up. frowning at the surveillance image before dismissing it. "Maybe not surprising that he's unarmed. From description, I think I still have his sword." Light flared at the glass and joints of her choker, and a twisted wave of space washed over her. In its wake was left a familiar set of high-tech armor, and that, too, lit up - the comforting hum of science. "Protect the house, Yolanda," she requested as the young girl came down the stairs, with all the tone of someone issuing solemn duty. "No fighting if you can help it, but be on the lookout for tricks. Additional perspectives are always valuable." She gestured, the drone on the table folding its legs back into its body and lifting off with a quiet chittering beep. "Lead the way, Ellie. Will do my best to look scary."

Mara made a noise somewhere between discomfort and derision at the static, but apparently didn't feel it was worth explaining or elaborating upon - especially when presented with something to do with her hands. She gave the hard-drive a quick once-over as the Scarab talked, grunting and casting her eyes around for something to plug it into. The mention of the Foundry gave her pause, halting the young woman half-bent-over to grab a laptop off a side table. "....passingly," she replied, brushing some copper shavings off its surface and opening it to hit the power button. While it spun up to speed she dug out what looked like a cable and external drive adapter, coiling it together to check for damage. "They create problems in the city sometimes. Companies like mine are...theft targets, too. Only succeeded once. Better security, after. General dislike of their science and methods. Why?"
