  3. "Got it, Tiamat. I'll be right--" Gaian Knight was cut off by the sound of the new arrivals in the hangar - and he rounded the corner just in time to see them start to spread out. "Cancel that, Tiamat, we have new arrivals down here. Tiamat? Aw, for the love of...." He planted his feet, stone platform breaking apart out from underneath him into a swarm of earthen shards - combined with the ones he'd already been using, it formed a storm of churning projectiles that he sent sweeping through the room. "Good luck, you old dragon," he muttered, as two of the more fortunate invaders closed in on him. "Good luck to all of us, maybe. We might need it."
  4. Toughness Save vs. Antibodies, DC25 (1d20 + 16=34, 1d20 + 16=25) Oogh, just barely on that last one. Huzzah for toughness-shifting.
  5. Welp, if there's a new group in the hanger GK may have to take care of that before moving on. Poor Tiamat's in for a surprise when she catches up with the hero fighting group 9. GK'll try to thin them out with an area attack, then. Same as before - as many enemies as he can fit in 65 5' cubes. DC23 reflex, DC28 Toughness vs. damage.
  6. "Bunch of Earthlings and a suspicious absence of time," Dragonfly replied. Even as she spoke - and with quick permission from Ruby - Dragonfly was adjusting the ship's systems. Rather than rely on an interface she wasn't used to, she opted to just connect directly: little lights could be seen dancing behind the lenses of her helmet, and nearby screens danced through some quick stabilization adjustments. Improvements, too, for that matter; nothing dramatic changed, but something that looked suspiciously like a complex delta-v equation scrolled out of the engineer's head and over to both the pilot and the engines, adjusting handling for the new curvature of space. It wasn't much - barely an efficiency improvement, at any reasonable speed - but in Dragonfly's experience the little things were always what mattered. "Or 'Terrans', or whatever. We're hoping to speak to the Gorgon."
  7. ALL GROWN'D UP BY HGM Well, Wraith's long-overdue for some edits; finally remembered to get them done. Thank goodness her sheet's simple! Made a couple fluff edits; mostly reflecting her updated age, her new school, and her close friendship with Ghost Girl. 20pp to spend; she gains 1 PL (to PL12) and picks up some skills, mostly: [2] +2 to her Strength (to 24, +7). [2] +2 to her Constitution (to 24, +7). [2] +2 to her Wisdom (to 14, +2). [2] +1 to her base attack bonus (to +6, +12 melee). [2] +2 to her reflex save (to +8). [6] 6pp in skills - boosting her acrobatics, intimidation, and search skills; adding gather information, investigate, and a few knowledge skills (education!). [3] Removed the second rank of Luck. Added four new feats: Acrobatic Bluff, Benefit (Native), Fast Task (Acrobatic Bluff), Move-By Action. [1] Added another rank to Protection, down in powers. Drawbacks: -0pp None DC Block: [pre]ATTACK RANGE SAVE EFFECT Unarmed Touch DC22 Toughness (Staged) Damage (Physical) Strike Setting Touch (~15ft w/ Elongation) DC27 Toughness (Staged) Damage (Physical)[/pre] Abilities (48) + Combat (22) + Saving Throws (17) + Skills (24) + Feats (21) + Powers (61) - Drawbacks (0) = 193/193 Power Points
  8. Wraith hesitated for only a moment before narrowing her eyes and rushing what had been the angel creature; she didn't get to it in time to stop it from dissolving, but she did what she could to surround and engulf the remains that hadn't disintegrated and escaped yet. And 'engulf' was certainly the right word - she ballooned outward, thinning into a large, thick sheet of liquid metal that swallowed the angel's rapidly-dissipating form up and held on tight. Unseen by human eyes, the inside of the new Wraith-bubble became a thousand minuscule mouths, a legion of all-devouring metal-grinders. The Kinigosi's biology was certainly well-suited to the task of dissolving any metallic substances, macro- or micro-scopic, but she just had to hope that she'd eat the nanites before they ate her.
  9. Wraith'll shift to om nom nom and try to consume as much of what's left of the angel as she can stretch around before it can fully distribute itself, I guess. She's not going to be able to contain the hurricane (way outside her skillset, as it should be) but she can at least try to stem part of its source. She'll Extra Effort for two more ranks of Shapeshift, for a total rank of 4, or 20pp. Good thing she can technically operate at PL12, because I'm lazy and don't want to do complex math at midnight on a Friday (or Saturday, depending on how you cut it!). Drain Toughness 12 (Extras: Affects Objects, Linked [Damage, Healing, Snare], Flaws: Limited [Objects], Limited [Metal]) [6pp] + Damage 12 (Extras: Linked [Drain, Healing, Snare], Flaws: Limited [Objects], Limited [Metal]) [4pp] + Healing 4 (Recovery +9, Extras: Action [standard], Linked [Drain, Damage, Snare], Flaws: Personal, Source [Metal], Feats: Regrowth) [5pp] + Snare 5 (Extras: Engulf (+0), Linked [Drain, Damage, Healing], Flaws: Distracting) [6 + 4 + 5 + 5= 20pp] Since the Angel isn't exactly cognizant anymore I'm assuming I don't need much of an attack roll on that, but for the sake of fishing for crits: Melee Attack Roll vs. dissolving nanite mass (SUPER OM NOM NOM) (1d20 + 11=17) Nope. Ah well.
  10. "Fleur! Frost!" Gaian Knight spread his arms warmly as they appeared, all smiles - tired smiles, but smiles none the less - as they materialized. "Glad to see you made it back. Not sure what you did, but the whole city's right again - intact, populated, and bugless. Well done. It's....ahh," he trailed off, glancing at the...reunion. He clearly wasn't sure what to say to that, hands dropping back to his sides as the two men met. Tiamat, true to her nature, was slightly less restrained. "...gods, there are two of them," she noted, dryly and not entirely pleased.
  11. Reflex Save vs. Explosion, DC25 (1d20 + 9=15) Nope! Shame. Evasion 2 on her shield means she still only deals with half the explosion's power, though, so that's something. DC30 is rank 15, half of which would be 7 for a DC22. Toughness Save vs. Explosion, DC22 (DC30, Evasion 2) (1d20 + 10=28) And that'll do. No damage.
  12. "Well, we're glad for your help," Gaian Knight replied; his platform had been returned to the earth outside the pyramid, the hero opting to walk rather than threaten to trail dirt inside a building of such apparent importance. Tiamat, too, had opted to leg it - two-leg it, that is, having reluctantly taken her human form before entering. She didn't say much, aside from pointedly ignoring pretty much everyone, though the seals at least caught her eye and received critical and interested study as they went. "I am very sorry for the earlier concern. Last we knew, we were fighting man-eating, flesh-warping bugs; the city was just about in ruins. The sudden adjustment to having everything be bright and shiny...took us by surprise, to say the least." "Barely got to kill anything," his companion noted, with the barest hint of disappointment hiding somewhere in her otherwise apathetic voice. "Yes, I think it turned out for the best all around." Tiamat's response, as she cocked her head at a seal of nested triangles, seemed to be the grunt equivalent of a middle finger.
  13. Tiamat was scanning the monitors when Gaian Knight's update came over the comms; she'd been doing so since Frost had dropped the last drone, trying to get a map into her head covering who was doing what where. She didn't quite get the full station covered by the time he asked her for a new target, but she did at least have an answer for him. "Stairwell down, third right," she shouted back, gesturing at one of the screens - more for the benefit of the technicians than anyone else, in case one of them got lost. And at that she shot out of the room at a breakneck pace, boots thumping against the corridor as she hit the stairs and started hopping them several at a time, cursing about 'tiny human dwelling spaces' the whole way down.
  14. Hrrm. Is there a group left that Tiamat could reasonably get to in an all-out move or two (normal move speed, as I'm assuming she can't exactly go dragon!). Failing that, who among the invaders would we say is closest to GK on the command center monitors?
  15. "Hmm." Wraith rose above the angel, most of her mass shifting up into a single, over-sized arm, though the distribution seemed uneven. It was a surprisingly unagile choice for her usual fighting methods, but the reason quickly became clear: while the spiked hammer-fist that descended on the 'angel' would have been bad enough, the piston-like descent of her body's mass down the arm after only multiplied the damage. "I could make myself conductive to electricity," she belatedly replied as her mass re-balanced, "but I cannot guarantee it would not harm me, and I do not know that I would be useful draining a more exotic power source. I believe the amount of damage necessary to physically tap into our enemy would leave me better-off simply eating it, as well." "Which I will," she added, sternly, three eyes frowning down at the Angel admonishingly, "if you continue to attempt to hurt innocent people and my friends."
  16. ...well, heck, as long as the Angel is bound & helpless, Wraith'll just coup de grace its butt. DC31 Toughness vs. damage, and if it's still conscious after that it's DC21 Fortitude save vs. KO.
  17. "Well, getting home isn't the problem," Gaian Knight mused. "Fleur might be the premier teleporter of our little group, but I can pretty easily make a portal that'll get the lot of us back - big enough for the bees, even. It's how I get back and forth to Sanctuary, after all." "The problem," interjected the wall-clinging dragon, "is making sure we all get home." "...right. Ah, no offense, Warlock," he apologized, offering the man a smile, "but when the whole world's snapping in and out of crisis I find it hard to take things on faith. Fleur and Frost can take care of themselves, but all the same I'm not keen on leaving without them if I have the option."
  18. Gaian Knight barely moved as the antibodies rushed him - he deftly side-stepped two without losing any ground, and let the third claw into him without much contest; claws met the cloth of his jacket and precious little else, finding no purchase on the hero's skin. He didn't give it much time to plan a second attempt - pinpoints of golden light appeared behind his goggles and the edges of his platform went off like a landmine, hurling shards of rock outward in all directions - with little consideration for what was in the way. "Hangar's clear," he announced, gathering his earthen arsenal back up with a wave of his hand. "Moving on. Tiamat, pick us a target and meet me there."
  19. Welp, tempted to walk autofire, but the area blast still seems like a better choice. So he'll do that again. DC23 Reflex, DC27 Toughness vs. damage, as before, for the jerks in melee range of the rock elemental.
  20. Tiamat crawled down the building like an oversized gecko, descending until she could snake her head out and bring her snout uncomfortably close to the newcomer; he got a pretty good look at the size of her teeth as she took a sniff, and then she turned her head to look at him with one great red eye. "...you play with dangerous powers, child," she noted, with some small measure of distaste. "I do hope it turns out better for you than most. They do not think like you and I; evil means little to them, but only in the sense that a plague bears no malice to its hosts." "...right. Okay," Gaian Knight mused, coming down on his platform and apparently deciding the best way to address Tiamat's observations was to...not. "Gaian Knight, Tiamat, Gabriel, Super-Bee," he introduced in turn, gesturing at each. "It's a pleasure to meet you. The bees are friends, here to help - we came loaded for metaphorical bear because...well. That's kind of a story, but I get the impression you might know more than we do at this point, if you were expecting us."
  21. Any or all of mine are available, in roughly descending order of priority: Eclipse Wraith / Dragonfly Gaian Knight
  22. Dragonfly breathed a sigh of relief as the dust was swept away; her HUD lit up with each drone that came back online, still down by the surface where she'd initially called them up to fight the ship. In an ideal world she'd still have them target the ship, but she'd never lived in an ideal world: a quick scan of the newly-revealed battlefield said she had higher priorities. Her mechanical posse had no sooner made it up to her than she pointed them straight down - their gaze followed her index finger as she gestured accusingly at the...sphere?...assaulting Jack, and like one they lit up red to rain light down from the heavens. "If we lose the dome I can start pocketing people - don't like the option. Not permanent; plus, armor damage threatens to strand or eject them. Please tell me we can seal that hole."
  23. Welp, Erik looks to be worse-off than Steve, and Dragonfly can't let some nasty thing kill Erik. Ellie would be upset! With her drones back, she'll go ahead and rain laser death down on it. Huzzah! Ranged Attack Roll vs. Ball 10 (drone beamspam) (1d20 + 12=22) Assuming these things are an even PL12, that'll just barely hit and get nothing from autofire. Still, DC27 Toughness.
  24. Tiamat gave a low, rattling growl, swooping in to perch on the edge of the nearest towering roof, Gaian Knight meeting her there only seconds later. "....so, uh. Ideas? I can't speak for everyone, but this is sure a new one on me. Convenient, but new." "....I don't like it," the dragon hissed, head snaking around to eye the city. One clawed limb dug into the corner of the building as she wiped the other across her mouth to rid herself of the last ashes of burnt ichor and mosquito. "Life is never so easy. The bugs disappearing as some kind of last resort escape I would believe, but cities do not repair themselves this way." "Yeah....yeah. Somehow I don't think we're that lucky," the geokinetic mused, frowning down at the newly-restored metropolis. "Feels more like the world changed than we did, but who knows...maybe Fleur and Frost did something?"
