  1. So done! The Goons cant possibly match that. The Hornet can but he will roll at -5 due to distraction Notice: 1d20+5 11 and he does not. Feel free to post that stealth, and any other action you may take.
  2. Lord Steam "Then help it we shall, comrades!" said Lord Steam. "We cannot decline such an invite. Why, 'twould be a travesty of intellectual curiousity to do so! Come then, let us be bold!" "Blakely, bring the sandwiches! I do hope they eat. I find roast ham and pickles a most excellent way to break the ice. With a spot of Gin, perhaps!" He could not temper his curiousity any further. If there was an olympic medal in the 100metres nonchelantlywalkingasfastaspossiblewithoutrunning then Lord Steam would surely have brought home Gold. Perhaps, given his apparent mastery of the art, he would have brought home Silver and Bronze too, for such was his innocent pace towards the interior of the ship!

  4. GM It was a good line, and a better entrance. The Warehouse had about a dozen guards in it, and half of them were armed with what looked like energy weapons. The stolen Daka-infused carbines that the Scarab had located in Egypt. They spun around as Comrade Frost landed, but did not fire. Not yet. The warehouse had the same crates, and Frost coud see some new steel reinforced and locked boxes, with Arabic ink labels. Presumably the valuable weapons. The Hornet would have enough to make, if not a small army, then a large weaponised group of street thugs. In the centre of the Warehouse, there was a little clearing with tables and computers, each linked to the security system cameras outside. And in the centre, the Hornet himself. In his green armour, with his yellow eyes, with that tall and gangly but certainly powerful frame. "So! Comrade Frost! We meet again!" He had no moustache to twirl, but he had a good melodramatic voice. "Thank you so much for disposing of Dr Sin for me. I would have preferred his corpse, but I am sure Blackstone will do fine...for now!"
  5. GM The bullets came thicker now, as desperation set in. Soon, clips would run dry. Incredibly, Detective Kidd stood calmly in the open, in the midst of the bullets, and was not hit once! The Wall ignored everything and charged at one of the bodyguards, smacking him unconscious and throwing him across the room with a backhanded - fist. As he turned around, Justice could see him bleeding from the middle of his massive girth. He had taken a bullet. not that it seemed to stop him in the slightest. "Mask! You gotta stop him! Detective! Arrest him!" said a panicking Blowfish. Interestingly, his anxiety diminished his tic. He was no longer furious, just scared. "Whats it worth, Blowfish? You gonna make a signed confession or am I gonna blow your goddamn head off?" grinned Kidd, pointing his shotgun at Blowfishes head....
  6. That comfortably hits - although the goon is under cover (+4 defence - precise shot 2 nullifies!) And...Tough Save: 1d20+1 20 pow! he makes it! The Wall will charge straight at Blowfish and the other goon. They have prepared attacks against such a charge and will thus fire: Prepared pistol fire: 2#1d20+3 23 4 one hits. Fortunately for the Wall, minions cannot crit against non-minions. Tough vs Pistol: 1d20+8 20 the Wall comfortably makes the save. The Wall then crashes into another Goon (taking 10) and hitting, causing a tough save the minion cannot make (KOd) Blowfish and the last Goon will fire at the Wall again on their round Fire at the Wall: 2#1d20 2 14 both missing. Round 3 21 - Kidd, unharmed, fatigued. 15 - Justice, unharmed 15 - The Wall, unharmed 4 - Blowfish (Staggered, Bruised) 4 - Goon, unharmed Kidd will move to flank Blowfish and threaten him as per IC. Justice is up.
  7. Lament "Because I am a man of my word, oh King! Surely you trust me? Have I ever let you down? Of all the tasks you have given me, my success rate is perfect!" He didnt stop to let the King do the maths. "Now, what purpose would it serve me to switch your tears for something else? Your fine wit, so ably demonstrated, would soon percieve my purpose! you would have my giblets skillered!" he added, not knowing what giblets were or what skilleting was, but figuring it sounded suitably horrific. "And then my labours would have been for nought!" He spread his hands over the three liquids. "Now, to my mind, either tis the Goblet in which your gloriousness stored his tears, or the wooden cup, a vessel designed to make mockery of thee! Although your resplendentness could surely never be diminished in his shininess!"
  8. Sgt Shark And time was an ally. Sgt Shark looked carefully. He plotted the terrain of the depths in his head. The rocks, the currents, the shapes of the alien architecture. The clarity of the water, its sediment. The position of the lights. The strengths and weaknesses of his team, the way they moved, and their speed. He even took into account the pressure and the temperature down here. What might this movement do? Churn up current this way? Churn up the sediment that way? "Easy..." Still trying to supress the olfactory part of his brain (that wanted to bite the Sea Devil, vomit over her, and then rip apart some sharks to impress her), he explained his plan. "I hope it does not come to a fight" he lied "but if it does, we must be ready..." He pointed out the architecture, and the way they could effectively flank the lights. And the way the current moved, how they could use that to their advantage, and (presumably) to the disadvantage of the aliens.
  9. Mastermind Roll: 1d20+16 27 I think thats a +3 / +3 / +3 / +2 / +1 bonus for the first five rounds? (Skill checks and attack rolls, apparently)
  10. Nothing! More about the lay of the land , ocean currents, Flanking manoeuvres and coordination I suppose. Whether that applies to esoteric aliens... I guess up to you and how esoteric they are!
  11. Given the situation and time, could Sgt Shark use master plan to come up with some cunning battle tactic (In case they come to blows with the aliens? ?
  12. Flux "Three years. It felt like nothing at all. Or infinity. Or both" said Quill, despondent. He had not aged (as far as he could tell) but it somehow felt that it was three years of his life gone. Time had moved on. He had had to rebuild his life on Earth. It was not easy, explaining to everybody that he had taken a sabatical. Intrigue, curiousity, and suspicion. And he had had to take a lower base job at the Freedom City University. It was only because of his reputation that he had got a job there at all. He shook himself from such despondency. He could hardly complain at the deck life had dealt him, after all. Such marvels he had seen! "Don't worry about me being cautious. Its my middle name. And if I detect anything odd, Ill shout out. Scream, possibly".
  13. Ronin "Fire, eh?" He didn't think he had nearly enough ammunition. But Ronin could possibly buy them some time. He turned from left to right, firing three rounds of the Dragon's Breath. The shells exploded in fire and light. "Doc, I hope you got something hotter at your finger tips" he said to Doctor Thorne. "I don't fancy spendin' an eternity swallowed up by some black ass Ink!"
  14. Meaning Justice is up!
  15. GM The crate flew through the air and collided with one of the goons behind it. It splintered and cracked, but certainly came off far better from the meeting than the bodyguard did. He slid to the floor, unconscious, his pistol falling from his hands. Behind her, and parallel, the Wall charged. It was like a thirty stone man charing with the speed of a sprinter. He literally smashed through the crate that the other body guard was using, and got hold of the bodyguard, carrying him another dozen feet before slamming him painfully into one of the concrete half finished walls. Even that concrete wall cracked from the force. The bodyguard was knocked out. Possibly worse. "Nice work, folks!" yelled Kidd as, shotgun in hand, he charged forward past the both of them, after Blowfish and the last two bodyguards. "ACTION!" yelled Jackson, coming in from the rear.
  16. Lament "They are, most glorious King whose glory is most glorifious" said Lament bold as brass. "Here are three treasures I have from the terrible thief! I thought it only right that she not just return the tears, but that also a steal away two of her most valuable liquids! To repay you for troubles and tribulations and etcetera ectetera!" he said. Before the king, on side table, he lay the three vessels. "Your tears be one of these three. I am sure thy Royal wit is sharp enough to determine which. After all, we all love a bit of poetry do we not, dear Elves!" he said, raising his hands and welcoming the crow around the king, trying to whip them up with the joy of the puzzle!
  17. GM "Awesome!" replied Penny, at both her new badass appearance, and the portal. She was a bit dissapointed she didn't also know drunken mantis style, but hey, she could try and pretend. Pop! Went her ears as they landed in the middle of Freedom City Park. There were people milling about, ponds, greenery, the mysterious ten foot statue of Block Head, and a chilly crisp atmosphere full of sunlight. And pretty soon, stares, pointed fingers, and mobile phones taking pictures. Who was this mysterious wizard, and what was Kat Klaw doing with him? Pretty soon the rumour mill had started. They were surely shooting Gun Busters 10!!!! Penny did nothing to dissuade them. "What now, mister?" she asked Oz, as the cheesedar swung wildly, around and around. The message was clear...this was something underground!!!! The sewers!!!!
  18. We will then proceed to the Wall who will charge the other goon full on. He is taking 10 on the attack roll so automatically hits, and the Goon cannot make the tough save, so he is down. We will maintain some semblance of initiative! Round 2 21 - Kidd, unharmed, fatigued. 15 - Justice, unharmed 15 - The Wall, unharmed 4 - Blowfish and GOons. Kidd will rush on ahead, taking the leave, even though he is fatigued now.
  19. That works. I will assume that is akin to an area attack, and give the thug a reflex save to avoid the attack. Reflex and TOugh saves: 2#1d20 4 20 And he is down.
  20. GM "Too red. Too short. Too much nose" Penny Coin was not easily satisfied. "Can't you make me look like a real bad ass? Like, maybe Kat Klaw, you know? From Gunbusters 9?" Gunbusters was a series of stupidlypopular low budget action flicks that had lots of guns in. Kat Klaw was the heroine of the latest installment, Gun busters 9, who indeed was a bad ass. Tall, willowy, with short slicked back jet black hair, deep brown eyes, and a master of kung fu. With guns, of course. "Please? And give me some awesome Kung Fu skills! Like the dance of the drunken mantis!" she demonstrated, showing off her fantastic imaginary kung fu (or arguably, kung fool) skills. "And some of her awesome microguns!" she added, firing of a pair of imaginary automatic snub-nosed pistols.
  21. Justice has higher DEX, so wins the tie.
  22. Lament Cruel! Cruel! CRUEL! Hmmm, this was the King as he was now, bereft of tears. What was he like before? Lament had the urge to jump in now to save the boy more misery. Ah yes! But he held off for one moment. A wrong move now could well sink the whole ship. He had come here, unseen, to understand the King and thus chose correctly. He had only a half chance of getting it right - at best. The rich wine? the clear water? The humble cup? Twas not what the King would have chosen, but what Grendel's mother might mock him with. Or perhaps some clever poetry on both facets. He was drinking from a golden cup right now, which...was suggestive that the mother might have chosen quite the opposite; a humble wooden cup. Bah, he could not contain himself. No more tears of children. "BEHOLD OH GLORIOUS KING! THE SULTAN OF SORROW DOTH RETURN!" he said boldly, bowing most deeply as was his character.
  23. GM "Anything but me" answered Penny, quickly. "Well, nearly anything. Not a clown, obviously" she said with a shudder. "They freak me out. Those smiles that go the wrong way? Brrr...." she said, hugging herself. "And not a frog. I don't like frogs much either. The way the hoppity hop and that big ballon where their throat is...brrrr....." "And certainly not a clown frog!" she concluded, almost going white at the thought. "Hey, why did I even think about that? Thats super freaky to the max! Have you got a spell of forgetfullness or something?" she asked. "Anyway any thing but that....!"
  24. Sgt Shark Brrrr! Handsome? Nobody ever called me handsome....not like this! I'm a freak!!!! Sgt Shark found Sea Devil repulsive, of course. But, how she smelled was a quite different matter. And his nose was much more sensitive than his eyes these days. Disgusting and repulsive to the eye. But...the smell! By all the Gods of the Sea...THE SMELL!!!!!! He wanted to rip her apart and smell her. He wasn't sure what that exactly meant. But he wanted it all the same. "Smell....yes.....how crazy it would be....to...communicate....by....smell....." he said through gritted teeth, his jaw muscles straining with horrible power. His whole body was full of tense and flexing muscles.
  25. Starshot On this matter, Starshot was honestly torn. He scratched his chin. On any other occasion, he would comply with Phalen's request. But Phalen did not quite seem sane here. What was his duty? To Phalen, or to Phalen's wishes? Bah! To go against a man's desires is the way to Tryanny. I am no lawyer, no philosopher, no psychiatrist! I never will be. And I would sleep better if I respected his wishes! "Phalen, though I think it unwise of you, I will take you back to your caves if you so wish. Be clear, I think you will die there, sooner or later, quite alone. I think I can keep you safe. I think I can give you a better life. But, I will not go against your wishes, despite the grim fate that awaits you. What say you? Think carefully, do not think with your gut or your spine, but with your head. This is no light choice..."
