  1. Lament Luther felt, right now, that he only had one hand on the wheel. And no feet on the brakes. The Void could be overwhelming sometimes, and when the Mother had peeled back his psyche, he was not in the best place to guide it. And perhaps now, when it came down to it, he didn't need to. His eyes darkened, and so did his skin. He was faint, now, like an oily black mist, hard to see. He jutted forward, hands raised high and dramatic in a sharp motion, like a vampire about to strike. And yet, he put forward a foot, low and fast, intent on touching the Mother on her legs. It was not force he was after, just contact - for the Void fed not only on joy, but, when hungry and cruel, the very energy of the flesh!
  2. Free action: Activate Void Betwixt' power, giving him partial concealment to all senses. Everything helps (including that miss chance!) Move action: Feint at -5 penalty: Feint: 1d20+14 22 Standard action: Attack unshifted with Void skin array activated (the partial aura fatigue power) Fatigue attack: 1d20+10 21 which, if it hits, is a DC 20 Fort Save vs Fatigue power.
  3. Snakebite Girl? That was a bit low, even for Neil, who clearly had no problems sinking his standards. Cassie fell back into a relaxed Ginga manuever, crouching low. "Your stronger than you look Neil. Faster, too. Did the Foundry do some work on you?" she asked. "Maybe you arent so clean as you think" She moved in the same relaxed posture. "But I don't think you will be strong enough. And I dont think you will be fast enough. Even if you do know judo..." She moved close, twisted to one side in a graceful feint and turned into a Escorpiao, the scorpion kick, which slammed effectively into his face. She span away fluidly and this time went for a follow up straight kick to the chest. Well timed, well executed, and powerful, but Neil had staggered a few steps back from the first blow, and now fortune favoured him, for Cassie's well timed attack was too short...
  4. Move action: Acrobatic Bluff at -5: Acrobatic Bluff: 1d20+9 22 Standard Action: Power and defence shifted attacl (+2 Defence, +2 DC, -4 Attack), Attack N: 1d20+8 16 which I guess might hit if the acrobatic bluff feint works!
  5. Both! Initiative: Initiative: 1d20+6 19
  6. Lament Yes, unfortunately Luther was mortal. And he felt it, with the armour of delusion cracking and peeling from his ego. True he housed an immortal psychic parasite of unknown power. But that was the Void. He was just flesh bones and blood. And would die. He felt himself diminish, shrink. And the hungry Void took over... There was a reason the Void had chosen Luther. Luther had an ego big enough to contain it, and feed it with the joy he brought. And now it was hungry, and mindless, and uncontained. And ready to lash out!
  7. Starshot The Red Devils were the pirates then. A point Starshot had assumed, but was glad to have confirmed. But here was something new. The Red Devil, who was presumably their leader. And some history to go with it. Interesting- possibly academic - but interesting all the same. What had beeen an embryonic trading agreement seemed to have been taken over by a parasitic pirate one. And the first peoples - the traders - had taught the Kurabnda. Starshot turned to Ermorada. "Are there any of these first peoples left? Maybe they can help. If not with weapons, then with information....?"
  8. GM "Har Har Har" the two laughed, mirthlessly. "It is Hallo-ween!" It was hard to say if they felt any fear. For if they did, working for Blowfish meant you couldn't actually show you were afraid, even if your blood ran to ice. Because if you did show your fear, you blood would not be running to ice. It would be sprinting out of your body. "You got no chances to back off" said one. "Cos you getting in the way of Blowfish business. And what gets in the way, gets ker-ushed!" said the other, pointing to a large boot. It looked like a boot that was very good at kicking people and stamping on the pulverised remains of their faces. But then, it had probably never tried to perform its normal dance with a superhero!
  9. ill just say the thugs have init 10, so ill post their reaction and then you are free to go! feel free to make an intimidate roll to see if you can shake them, although they wont flee.
  10. Grapple Roll: 1d20+25 34 it does!
  11. Snakebite High on adrenaline, Cassie felt the fists like feathers. But before she knew it, he was grappling her. He was stronger - and faster - than she had hoped. Was he enhanced by the Foundry? It was likely. "What can I say" she grunted as she grasped his arm. "I'm a greedy girl"... She twisted his arm and spun out of his hold, a brazillian jui-jitsu move. She instantly fell into a defensive stance, moving as a capoerista. "But even greed has its limits. The ends don't justify the means!" she retorted. She ducked low, hands brushing the Jungle soil, and spun again, launching a low spinning kick at his ribs.
  12. In which case, using standard action to do a melee attack Melle Neil: 1d20+12 25 if that hits, DC 21 Toughness
  13. Tough Save: 1d20+5 25 at last a break! That makes the tough save. Grapple Roll: 1d20+18 20 the Grapple Roll not so good, so pinned. So for her action she will try (as per house rules) Move action: Escape Grapple; Escape Grapple: 1d20+18 38 which I imagine will succeed but let me know!

    Zip Zap

GM "Good going, good going..." called out Zip sarcastically. "Gee, I'm glad you are on my side....you are on my side, right?" He pointed his carbine at Ether. "Well, Sir..." he started in a mock English accent. "...I do declare you are a veritable feast of Nihilus energy. And, Sir, I have a bomb to build!" Zap! A bolt of electricity flew through the air and exploded on a tree near Ether. Apart from a few splinters on his shoulders, he was quite unharmed. "You little vagabond!" he retorted, and gently floated through the air until he was above Zip. He then let loose, from both hands, a torrent of blue nihilus energy. "uh...oh...." said Zip, as he absorbed the entropy full blast. He started leaking dust from his skin. "...that's not good. Molecular disintegration...."
  15. Oops! Brain fart from me, sorry. Round 2 38 Zip - Unharmed 17 Prof Ether - Unharmed 6 - Delta - Dazed Zip is going to fire his carbine at Prof Ether. Fire Gun at Prof E: 1d20+10 28 a resounding hit. Save vs zap: 1d20+10 29 and he saves comfortably. Inspiring Prof Ether to take a move action to float around a tree and fire at Zip. Fires at Zap: 1d20+7 20 he just hits, and that means a save for Zip. Save ve Drain: 1d20+6 8 ooh dear! Zips toughness is now zero! Delta is up!
  16. Sgt Shark The Sergeant snapped his jaws in frustration, as if trying to chomp down on the ocean itself. He could still taste and smell the blood of the shark he had ripped apart. It was driving him bezerk. "ILL TASTE YOUR FLESH! ILL DEVOUR YOUR GUSSETS! ILL LICK YOUR GIBBONS!" he snarled at the universe. He had no idea what gussets or gibbons were, but he wasn't thinking clearly. He could vaguely imagine some bubbling pulsating vital organs fully of juicy nutrients. But he had never studied anatomy bar basic life support required in the military. He put his ferocious strength towards breaking free of Asad's grip, squirming and struggling with his slippery body...
  17. Just trying to escape the grapple. Grapple Roll: 1d20+25 33 hopefully that wont win!
  18. Lament This was certainly no time to back down. Onwards, onwards, onwards! "I am the LORD OF LAMENTATIONS! The DUKE of DESPAIR! The SULTAN of SORROW!" he said, boldly. "Do you think me WRONG? Do you think me FOOLISH? Did you not KNOW this DAY would COME!" he asked, pointing a finger at the Mother. "DID you THINK that these TEARS would be YOURS for ETERNITY?" he demanded. "They do NOT BELONG TO YOU! And I come to ENFORCE THE LAWS OF POETS!" he explained. "WHAT MADNESS POSSESSED YOU TO GO AGAINST THE FLOW OF THE UNIVERSE AND STEAL TEARS?"
  19. GM "Sure...whoops...." stumbled Amber, clumsy of lips and clumsy of foot. "Aw...I think I sprained it!" High heels and alcohol, combined with the flush of adrenaline, had made her shaky and unsteady, and she took a tumble, wrenching her ankle. She probably broke a nail too, but right now she had bigger problems. "Looks like she made a Fru-end!" came a voice from around the corner. Two large gentlemen came around, cracking knuckles. "Blowfish getting a bit worried you not looking arft-uh yourself, honey" laughed one. "You know how Blowfish cares fuh you. He's most jenny-rous..." drawled the other. They were not twins, but hey may aswell have been. Large, broad, and not too clever. "Now he ain't gonna be so nice if you talk. He likes you singing songs, but otherwise you shouldn't really be opening your perr-ty lips" The other one started towards Justice. "What is this, halloween? Scram!" he ordered.
  20. GM "Who is that?" "Go away!" Mumble mumble mumble... It was Morgen's voice, for certain. She seemed a bit sleepy, a bit irritable, a bit...crazy. Rather like she normally did, by Dreadnough's etimation. But there was perhaps an edge. She had lost her certaintity, and gained a fleck of anxiety, or fear. Which was odd, for she was normally the boldest of the bold. But then, what was Morgen normally? For she certainly was not normal. "This place is not for you! It is not safe! This is the abode of old and terrible Gods!" she said, more loudly, although the door remained closed and she was out of view. Given Dreadnought's strength, even a finger tap might send the Church crumbling to the ground...
  21. So Exaccus PC, Venomax just ingested a herb with magical Lovecraftian properties, sending his mind through time and space. Not in a good way, for it will befuddle his brain! But Exaccus and I wondered if we could do a crazy social open thread, where his astral projection (or whatever) makes contact with some PCs. From alternate realities, from mystical realms, from the distant past or future. If you have a PC who would like a couple of posts in a bit of an experimental open thread, please drop us a note in this thread? For instance, if you have an immortal character we could do a flashback as his brain / consciousness falls back in time. Or similarly, the future. Maybe an astrally projected character meets him. Or if you fancy a few posts as he drifts past an alternate reality to meet an alternate version of your PC, that could work! To keep it contained, Im going to ask for just a few posts from each cameo. But of course it could lead to more adventures in the present! This is a sort of crazy meet and greet!
  22. Ok ill post up the invite in Campaign Discussion as an experiment! Meanwhile, lets finish of Sting in the Tail. We can fluff it so the time&space social thread gets lost in his memory, he comes back to the jungle a bit befuddled, and the memories of his trip come back later?
  23. Initiative: 1d20+10 19 And Fires Tranq pistol: 1d20+12 21 which, if it hits, is a DC 16 Fort Save (Fatigue effect) with Poison Extra.
  24. Snakebite Cassie hesitated. "I don't blame you for selling from the Foundry. But you handled this wrong. Cruel and callous" she explained. Still, what justice was there here? Deep in the Jungle? Neil had saved her life - if it was purely a matter of theft, she would have let him walk. But as Isa said, people were dead because of him. Was that murder? Murder by indifference? "<Isa. This man is trying to survive. He didn't kill your friends, but he didn't save them either. Its a bloody mess we are left with....>" And still, she didn't trust him. At the end of the day, that was the issue. He was a liar. "<I'm sorry Neil, but I can't be sure of anything you say. All of those whispers in the temple. Defiler, Thief, Murderer. They seem more true than your words. I'm not getting out of your way...>" So she fired...
