  1. GM "A Dragon, hmmm? Yes, I have heard of this fellow through my... ah... sources. A spy called eyeball. Apparently you are quite the fellow..." Professor Armitage gave a little nod of his head. "I am Professor Armitage. Apparently, I am a librarian too, which is news to me, and seems to be a compulsory employment with no pay and several responsibilities, none of them particularly enticing. But my regal friend is quite correct, we are looking for a cursed egg, which seems to be poisoning the forgotten sewers, and if we are not careful the whole of Freedom City. It would not do if these toxic waters leaked into something overground, where people live. Most inconvenient."
  2. Snakebite Cassandra slowly stepped out of the room. A lingering thought in her head - would she come back? No doubt a couple of dozen questions would manifest in her skull as soon as she left this place, but none seemed to appear now. She would surely kick herself later, and... could she return? "Good striving, then..." she said to the Lemurian as she left and turned to face the Yeti and the Professor. "Professor! Good to see you alive. I confess I feared the worst. Are you well? Are they treating you fine?"
  3. Just a note for whoever wants to get infected - the visible effects are somewhat variable in terms of how it effects the skin (although tends to be purple), and may come and go over the period of infection. Might be delayed, or be invisible, so feel free (if you wish the boost) to narrate to your hearts desire.
  4. Spore Harper could not contain her glee at infected King Cole. She twiddle her fingers as unneeded preparation, then placed all fingers and both thumbs on King Cole III head. Making sure to wipe the tips of her fingers first. It would not do to have the regal woman hallucinating. Although it sounded Like King Cole was already half mad and might even benefit from some hallucinogen. With a little tingle, the purple fungus took root in King Cole. "There we go. Effects may vary..." she said. "But it's a very healthy fungus. You wont get ill, or hungry. Just a bit of photosynthesis, baby. You wont even need to breathe. Oxygen now supplied direct to your blood stream!" She gave a smile. "Just in case they pump the room full of gas, or water, or something..."
  5. Snakebite "The climb? I suppose I enjoy that too...." said Cassandra. "The fall, not so much. But what is a climb without a fall now and again?" "As for the peak, sounds like you are never going to reach it. Although I guess that's the point, isn't it. We aren't meant to be satisfied, we are mean to strive..." She shook her hair, wanting to free herself from philosophy. Dig to deep, you never know what you might find. Something unpleasant, no doubt. "Back to the present. What about the professor? I want to check he is... well..." And that he truly wants to stay here. I wouldn't be surprised if he did. Its a good place. But I have to know...
  6. GM Communications were fuzzy - the site wasn't in the best of health, and was underground. But Predator was able to get through to someone at the Freedom League, someone at WEST, and AEGIS. And everyone started to put her through to somebody else. The tabletennis ball pinged around several people until eventually she got through to Terrifica. The clones continues to float in their yellow fluid, and the mysterious figure - white, albino, featureless, continued to be frozen in the ice. Whatever that figure was, it had apparently been the source of the clones. Meanwhile, Doctor North was waking up from his chemical incarceration. He spluttered, he coughed, he mumbled under his breath about genetic corruption, and then pointed his two eyes at Predator. "Hnmmm.. .wha... where? who?"

Captain Cosmos The beam struck Captain Cosmos straight on. He raised his hands from his face, trying to ward of the energy like he was trying to ward of a ghost. The energy splintered, fractured. His hands started to glow from blocking the beam. "No... no... I don't want to fight! Who are you? What do you want?" he yelled, still fighting tears. In his head, his entire life was crashing down. Somehow, these people had found out his secret identity! How? His physician? No.... surely not. Someone at the TV station? His next door neighbour? That old Jewish Man who sold him pretzels down the street? How? Had they bugged his room? "Please! Just stop firing at me! I don't want to fight! I'll... I'll do anything! Just don't tell anyone!"
  8. I was going to say he would be flat footed with his action, but she would have hit anyway! A Damage 13 effect is pretty ouch! 33 is pretty awesome toughness. He is going to carry on pleading / begging! (IC upcoming)
  9. Echohead "Ah. The paperclip problem..." Echohead liked to read. And sometimes his reading took him down rabbit holes. Without a copy of some whiz kid in his brain, he didn't really understand computers, but he had heard of the AI problems. Program an AI to make paperclips. The risk was, that eventually the entire universe - all available matter, would ultimately turn into a paperclip. "I think you may have... ah... exceeded the gentlemans intentions..." he said, carefully, every one slow and precise, despite his sweaty palms. "I think he only wanted one body to live, not a... errr. swarm..." "Can you... ah... correct this matter?"

Captain Cosmos Bah! Let him run... thought Captain Cosmos, without resentment. He was small fry, and a promise is a promise. The bigger problem... "Buddy?" he screamed, terror gripping his chest so hard her pressed his finger tips to his chest, wanting to tear out the acidic lungs and thundering heart from his ribs. They had found out his secret identity! "How? How did you find out?" he said, forcing the words out of his garrotted throat. "Tell me? How! Please! Don't tell anyone!" He backed away, until he hit a wall behind him. He sank to his knees, despair on his shoulders. He put his hands in his head. "How? Spying on me? I was so careful!" he cried, leaking tears, face in his palms, shaking uncontrollably.
  11. 21 for initiative, although with his DEX I imagine he is going to be last. Re: Complication, Ill take that - but need to work out how it actually hurts him / complicates things rather than just makes him anxious - see upcoming IC?
  12. 18 for spore
  13. GM The sludge wrapped itself Luke's legs. If not for his amazing strength, it would have surely have slowed his progress. As it was, he could stomp through the knee high filth with ease, even against the slow flow. His clothes, however, would need some kind of super-cleaning chemical to ever be admitted to polite society again. Or, in truth, to any society at all bar the silage farmers annual convention. Ahead, Luke could see the flashes of torchlight and the sound of voices.... ~ Continued in A Small Problem... ~
  14. GM "Quite. There is no reason to resort to profanity, your highness. Not... regal, is it?" The Professor wrinkled his nose. "Then it appears we follow the smell. Unless you have an egg-detection potion, or spell. Or perhaps some other mystical apparatus that might decipher the location of the... wait... did you hear that?" As it happened, King Cole III did hear something. For all the atrocious fermenting smells that hang heavy in the air, sound was travelling very well, thanks to the echo that ran down the sewer corridor....
  15. Notice 17
  16. Echohead "We are..." started Echohead. A thousand feeble blusters swirled around his head. The one that swirled loudest was just leaving.. But that was the echo of years of bullying. He swallowed. It hurt. His mouth was dry. All he had left was honesty. At least he couldn't fail at being honest. Perhaps the only thing one could truly promise. "I mean, I am Echohead. And this is Predator. We have come to understand what is happening..." It was about as good a start as he could think of. And speak of, with a mouth of rasping desert sand. "That's right, isn't it? Understanding?" he asked Predator.

  18. Spore Spore smoothed down her costume, feeling the texture of the morphic molecules under her skin. Everything was happening so fast. Fast enough to send her heart fluttering. Sweat started to form on her brow, on her skin, leaking through the perfectly designed costume. "Just be careful touching me," she said to the others. "I sweat... well. I am part mushroom. So if you want to see fluffy invisible pink rabbits dancing in the air, then my sweat will give you quite a trip..." She gazed around the room. "Does anyone have any clue what they do to us here? Apart from teach us? I mean, I hope they teach us..." "Which reminds me!" she said with a smile with just a hint of fox cunning. "Does anyone want some fungus parasite for the next hour?" Her skin started to produce purple bubbling patches. "It's good for your health. You won't need oxygen, or, well, you wont need much at all really. Its symbiotic, and will die down soon enough."
  19. Thanks Poncho!
  20. Diamondlight "Cuff, ambulance. All good," said August. "But shouldn't we interrogate?" He squirmed the word out of his mouth. Interrogate was not an easy word, since it had a broad umbrella. It could get nasty. It could be torture. And Aquaria did not look like the squeamish type. "I mean interview," he said, irritated he had not used that word first. "What was the motive? Accomplices, methods, and so on? This has the taste of something supernatural. Not really something I understand, but..." He looked at Aquaria. "You look like something occult. I mean you look like something that knows of the occult." Diamondlight was not normally a man to trip over his words. But Aquaria was spooky. In fact, this whole part felt spooky right now.
  21. Pitch Pitch couldn't help but give a little laugh. It was tainted by Tazel, his wicked tongue tickling her vocal cords. "Students?" She caught Daniel's eyes on her. He was too young, of course, but something of Carmen Canto's own wickedness made her smile. Who didn't adore being adored? "Hi!" she said, giving a friendly wave, and blowing a smoky kiss at Daniel. "Welcome to hell... and all help welcome. I should probably tell you kids to stay away from this kind of danger. But I was riding with bikers and drinking cheep beer by the time I was your age, so who am I to tell you what to do. Just one piece of advice, get a tattoo of a skull, or a gun, or a rose. Don't, I repeat, don't get a tattoo of your lover." She chewed her tongue. It had taken a lot of needlework to scrub off her first lovers name. And her second. She learned her lesson after that. "As for a non violent approach..." she said, turning smoking eyes to Betsy. "Be my guest. You look like the kinda gal who sticks her nose in books. What do you make of all of this?"
  22. Snakebite "I am not a fan of ruts. Or being in them," said Cassandra. "But the worst ruts are the ones you don't see. I daresay that's your point..." She frowned. It was food for thought. "...and it's a good one. One I will consider, although I would think it quite the devil to avoid a rut you can't see. Still, if it was easy everyone would do it. And few do. Seems it has taken you centuries, and you don't strike me as creature lacking will." She dragged herself back to the creature, away from introspection. There was a time to fully contemplate enlightenment, and it wasn't now. "What mountain peak are you seeking?" she asked, words cautious, slow. The creature seemed a good sort, but Lemurians were, by all accounts, deceptive. What if his new plan was Lemurian domination of the world? Or even the world's destruction?

Captain Cosmos "Professional?" said Captain Cosmos, scoffing. It rankled, but getting one crook in jail was less important than stopping another crook run around with some super powered gear. It rankled bad, but it was the right thing to do. Ideals were great, but you could lead to great evil. He reached out, and flicked his fingers at the two biggest dimensional shard. With his super powered strength, they shattered into tiny fragments of dimensional splinters, then melted into nothing. At least, Captain Cosmos hoped they melted into nothing. He didn't like punching and ripping a hole through the multiverse. He feared the damage might come back to haunt him one day. "Well, my professional friend. You can scuttle away, you have my word. If you tell me what the hell is going on here. Who do you work for, why these relics, and where has your friend gone? And if I catch you again, you will be in serious trouble...."
  24. Gamma Buzz "Exactly," said a wilted Baltazar. "That's exactly it, I am sure of it.... well done, Timeout old buddy!" He gave two thumbs up. "And, errr, how are we going to locate the timeline the others are in? I mean, can you do that?" He looked around. "Can any of us do that?" A final thought struck him. "And who was that guy? and why did he want you? Collapse?"

Captain Cosmos Captain Cosmos raised his eyebrows at Blacklight. He hadn't expected his monologue on the virtues and rewards of being a hero to have such an impact - whatever that impact was. He had barely believed the words himself. True, there were rewards, and the power was not something to sniff at. But it also, at times, felt like a weight on his shoulders. Ah, life was never meant to be easy... He turned his attention back to the other crook. "Yes, that much is clear," he said, chewing his words. "But what is very much not clear, my crooked chum, is why did he steal it? Come now, you are caught already, the jig is up. Spill the beans and all that. Might help you in court!"
