GM "WEST is more than two people!" she said, correcting Delta. "Fifty or so of us, around the world. Freedom City has two people stationed here, just to deal with local anomalies. But, you know, this is Freedom City. It could do with double that" she said, frowning. "I got a car waiting outside. And, yeah, its just a car. No flashing blue lights. Doesn't fly, or turn into a submarine" she said. "We got certain priviledges, our technical know how, computers, scanners...." she explained. "If it's all the same to you, I would rather drive" she said, gulping. "I mean, rather than fly or take a trans dimensional hop or whatever you can do" she blustered. "Its Sunday, the traffic is good, and...well....I don't want to throw up on your cape or something...."
  2. Ronin "Calm down" replied Curtis, bluntly, to the vexed man in front of him. "Everybody, Calm down!" he said, loudly, to the queue. He had been in tense situations before, over in Iraq. This can get out of hand, and out of hand quickly... Still, nobody calmed down by being told to calm down. Unless they really felt they needed to calm down. "Anybody here don't calm down, anybody here starts swingin', Ill damn well put them down. I ain't gonna see a Riot on Nancy Street" he said, firm. He had respect round here, and most folks new that if Ronin / Curtis wanted to put someone down, they were going down. "I'm gonna find out what the Shuck happened" he added. Although quite how he would do that, well, that was another question. He marched up to the front of the queue to speak to the pharmacist. "Hey man, what the hell happened? Did your printer swallow a bottle of crazy pills?"

GM "ASTRO labs?" said Lulu, rather shocked, but not surprised. "I thought we kept a close eye on them...but..." she took the WEST scanner back and squinted, poring over the data. "I...guess that makes sense...the hyperquantum antidistortion splitting certainly fits...." she mumbled, half-understanding. "Sooner sounds good. Ah...but you should realise, WEST is well funded in a way. We have cutting edge technology, a purpose built base on Easter Island, and all sorts of well equipped staff and labs. But we are not large" she explained. "So I am afraid its just me" she said. "The other WEST agent in Freedom City is off in New Orleans right now. We have a little office next door to ASTRO labs" She was almost apologetic. "And the other issue is...we are not ASTRO labs. Our authority is...variable...." she said, more quietly. "We are the United Nations. Sure, we have diplomatic agreements of principle with the member states, but...we operate more on goodwill than actual legal power. So...we need to proceed diplomatically" she said. "Ah...that may not be in your...skill set....?" she asked, even more awkwardly, not quite meeting Delta's gaze.

GM "Its fair" replied Lulu, handing him the WEST scanner. "WEST has only one true objective. The world has faced down danger countless times, each one a potential end. Each time, we have been saved, often by the mightiest superheroes of the world. But the united nations has decided that we need what you might call an early warning system. What if a dimensional anomaly can be nullified before an invasion from another realm? what if an outbreak of Darwin-X can be contained before it infects a whole city? or worse?" she said. "The closest analogy is the world health organisation, except WEST uses the same principles to contain exotic and dangerous natural phenomena" she explained. The readings on the WEST scanner were interesting, to say the least. And very complicated. Delta scanned through them and the esoteric pieces of the jigsaw started falling into place. There was some dimensional anomaly in Freedom City. And more interesting than that...he could place it! A laboratory in ASTRO labs. And it seemed it involved at least thirteen dimensions. Or maybe four and a half. It was that kind of anomaly...

GM "Ah...yes..." nodded Lulu. "Its...um...." She looked awkward once again. "Look, these readings are so complicated we can barely make sense of them" she conceded, a slight flush to her cheeks. "Its not like Earth is run on Dark Fusion. The closest we came to anything like this is some corrupted Daka crystals in Egypt, and that was dangerous enough" she explained. "We don't really understand what we are dealing with" She looked at Delta hopefully. "Do you understand it? I suppose you are more soldier than scientist, but you might have familiarity with the Omega technology that produces Nihilus energy?" it was perhaps a big ask, but she looked like someone both irritated at her lack of understanding, and desperate to understand. Perhaps even afraid.

GM "Merci" said Lulu, thankfully. In truth, she was not sure what to expect from Delta. Things were raw when it came to the Terminus Invasions...but Lulu was a scientist, and trusted data more than sentiment. Although she was sentimental. "Entropic energy. Dark matter. Hyperdimensional lensing. Its all a bit...complicated" she conceded. "Even for me, and I have a PhD in quantum physics" she said proudly. "But we have been tracking anomalies for the past year...its part of the reason WEST was conceived and set up. We don't want a massive rip in space time tearing apart the earth. And if you think that's melodramatic, you should think of the possibilities that are even worse" she said, with a hint of melodrama. She sat down and started fiddling with her WEST scanner. "The possibility that these readings are related to the Terminus invasion need analysis. And...well....you might be a good source of that analysis" she said, slightly awkwardly. "Don't worry" she added, gently "we aren't going to dissect you. Although I imagine some rogue states would like to. What I meant was...well, apart from me scanning you, do you know anything about the source of your power, or how you travelled to this dimension?"

GM Freedom League Special Circumstances Housing Sunday 2nd December Delta had a visitor. Unusual on a Sunday, especially this close to the Yuletide celebrations. But a visitor nonetheless. "Lulu LaWelle" said the woman, who must have been around fourty, with short cropped jet black hair and a clever twist to her lips. She had an olive skin giving her uncertain herritage, but had a clear but eloquent French accent. "I'm an agent of WEST. World Esoteric Science Taskforce. United Nations" she explained, holding up a hand held scanner that looked like it had been built ten years or more in the future given its shiny cutting edge appearance. "I'm sorry to bother you. But we have been getting some strange readings in Freedom City and...well...had to check them out....I hope you don't mind? Perhaps answer a few questions?" she asked politely. "And Merry Christmas!" she added, in a friendly tone.
  11. GM "Well that sure is some kind of story!" said the officer, typing away furiously. "STORY? It is the TRUTH, Sir!" replied Finnigan, keen to eek out infamy. "...is that a confession?" asked the officer, surprised. "Nay, Sir! It is a PROCLAMATION!" "....sounds like a confession to me...." Finnigan sighed in response, shaking his head at the apparent lack of appreciation for the drama of the situation. "Hold your horses!" came a voice from behind Justice and Finnigan. "That man...that thing...there is my bounty! Stolen from me!" Veriliy and Forsooth, for the Gas Man had made bold entrance to the stage! There he was, decked out in all his gear, point accusatory finger at both Finnigan and Justice both!
  12. Does anyone have any views on what they would like to do / explore etc? Ill set stuff up soon.
  13. Rev "Well that doesn't sound good...." Rev could pick a lock and neutralise an alarm. Did that include disarming a bomb? She kind of hoped it didn't, because that was a pretty scary proposition however you looked at it. Whatever. It would take a good pair of hands to do anything, and currently she was down an arm. With a slither and a little jet boost, her left arm came sailing through the air to land at her feet. With another twist of its metal flesh, it clicked back into her shoulder socket. "We gotta get that bomb out of here!" she yelled at Fascimile. This was, of course, an obvious course of action, but she was getting frantic, and saying the obvious was a reflex action...
  14. For this round, Rev will just take a move action to get her detatched limb back to her. And speak!
  15. Ronin God-damn this... Curtis drove up Nancy street and onto the corner shop pharmacist. It was boarded up and had metal grills on, like always. Junkies...always making life hell... He was more grim than normal. Yoshie, his grandmother, had diabetes, and the medication she had got was a mess. Curtis was no doctor (other than his basic military training), but he could see the printed script was garbage. Who knew what had happened? He didn't want to give her the wrong medication. Yoshie was a tough old bird, but she was eighty eight, and tough as she was, he did not fancy poisoning her. He pulled up outside the pharmacist and climbed out, taking a few deep breaths. No point taking it out on the pharmacist - they did a tough job round here, and didn't deserve anything but respect. There was, however, a line of people outside, all complaining to the strung out pharmacist that the scripts were all just as mangled as Yoshies! "Hey man, what the hell is going on?" he asked the person at the back end of the queue...
  16. Snakebite Jungle Memories Ronin Ink Rev All That Glitters Racing Death Lament I want my tears back Echohead The Sparrow of Space Sgt Shark Defenders of the Deep GM Sting in the Tail Busy Little Fingers Zip Zap Wall the Build Monorail...Monorail...Monorail!!! Head West Red Net Hong Kong Go Festive Smear Other Guidebook entry for W.E.S.T Guide post to Mr Murk GMs post to boost all PCs to 25 posts / 3 PP Then take Mr. Murk as far as he can go (up to 100 PP) I think there may be a few PP left over from that; if so, push up to 50PP the following in order: Lament, Snakebite, Echohead, Diamondlight, Curveball, Sgt Shark, Ronin, Rev
  17. So the Jungle is a hot environment, and it is about an hours pace with the Lemurians. That means a DC10 Fort Save or 1 point of CON agility damage. As you can move fast enough, you can also make the Survival skill DC 15 Check to gain +2 on the Fort Save (NB: Survival does not need to be trained, so even if no skills you can try a WIS modifier skill roll!)
  18. GM And so... Abdul, his loyalties dividied, had clearly enough of the rich kid in him to find the prospect of leaving modern cons unpalatable at best. He had lead the grumbling Mr. Sting back to the mesa - although quite how that fractious relationship would play out was anyones guess. Meanwhile, the Lemurian riders were riding on their steeds. The jungle was thick but they obviously knew their way around the wood and fiolage. There was bird song and fruit. insects buzzed, and reptiles slithered. The jungle was beautiful and hideously alive. It was about an hour walking through oppressive heat and oppresive humidity; Dust Devil and Venomax might have made faster pace courtesy of super powers, but they were limited by the pace of the Lemurians. They came to a depression in the jungle, where the trees were taller, the shade mercifully cooler, and a suggestion - so subtle - that the flora was more gnarled and twisted, somehow. Fruits were rotten or burting ripe, and the faintest sickly sweet smell wafter in the air. In the centre of the depression, encased in vines and creepers, a crumbling ruined temple of some sort... "Setho!"
  19. GM "Sure, sure" replied the officer. "You got your rights....errr....Justice, isn't it?" he inquired, racking his brains. He was a fan of pop culture and superheroes, clearly. "So you have the right to give evidence and statements as Justice, protects your secret Identity and everything" "How dramatic!" whispered a bitter Finnigan. "Shut it mister!" snapped the officer at Finnigan. "You'll get your turn!" He turned back to Justice in a more friendly but still official manner. "Now then...if you could tell me what happened so I can lock this son of a...I mean, this suspect....in a cell..." he invited, keen to hear all the details. And perhaps get a signature, too!
  20. Rev "Doctor, Mister, Yada Yada" replied Rev moving her hand in a contemptuous mimic of boring speech. "What are you a doctor of, anyway? Gold? What does that make you? A Goldologist?" she asked, honestly slightly curious. "Any way, lets see what you make of THIS!" she said dramatically, firing her feet jets full power, and speeding straight at him. Well, not quite straight at him. With one arm gone, she was a bit more unsteady than she was like. And besides, she was still smarting and wheezing. And so, she ended up a few degrees (or, in honesty, several degrees) off target. BAM! She barely registered what had happened. She just found herself sitting down in a pile of dust and masonry several yards from Doctor Gold. "See! Got you! What did you think of that?" she asked, boldly.
  21. So Rev going to charge at him using the Jets of Justice! (io.e. her jets) That gives her +2 to attack and -2 to defence, but she is also shifting +2 DC and -2 attack, to make a total of +2 DC and -2 Defence. Charge Mastermind: 1d20+10 12 Bam! Collision! (just not with the doctor!)
  22. GM The officer half-pulled himself together, licked his thumb and started typing into the computer at his desk. "Name? Full name?" he demanded of Finnigan. "Michael Mouse, Esquire!" retorted Finnigan, defiantly. "I'm sorry, we only accept false names on Thursdays. Whats your real full name?" replied the desk officer. "Finnigan!" "Wait? Finnigan?" spluttered the desk seargent. "Some guy looking for you. What was his name? Brad something. What did he call himself? The Gasser or something?" he pondered as an alert pinged on the computer. "Said he wanted to collect some bounty on you...." "Yes! I demand you release me to his custody immediately!" said Finnigan. "That's not how it works round here, buddy. We are the police, not bounty hunters" replied the desk officer. "What happened? you willing to give a statement, I hope" he asked of Justice.
  23. Snakebite Cassie bid Neil goodnight. She wasn't quite ready to sleep. Not yet. Isa was kindly, but her interest lay more with Doji. He was old, and mayhap had heard more thank Isa. "<You have been most generous>" she said, kindly. "<We needed food and rest. And a bath>" she added with a smile. "<We found a temple, a weeks walk from here. Dedicated to a moon Goddess, I think. We didn't have the time to examine it fully, but...these were old Gods, and they used human sacrifice>" she explained. "<Forgive my supersition, but perhaps the myths of ancient times and more real than we dare to think....I think the beast of the Jungle may be a beast of the old myths and Gods...>" It was a bold start, but she did not think there was any better way...
