  1. Ok the tear gas grenade is an area (cloud) Nauseate 5 and Dazzle 5 effect, both Fort Saves. DC 15 to save then! Although you do of course get a Reflex DC 15 save vs the area to half that to a DC 13 Fort Save if you make it! Most, but not all, of the Kids / "Fingers" will succumb to the Gas grenade. Finnigan, however, is immune (as is the Gas Man) And its time for initiative! Initiative: 1d20+5 15 Gas Man Initiative: 1d20-1 16 Finnigan Initiative: 1d20+2 6 FIngers
  2. GM "Oh I don't mean eat. I don't even survive. I mean LIVE!" groaned Finnigan, looking weakly and venemously at Justice. "Society didn't do anything but crush bones and soul under the boot. Soup Kitchens? Homeless shelters? You call that living? Pfah, we live better this way, and have do not have to stoop and grovel, we don't have to answer to anyone but ourselves!" "Right on!" came a few voices from the darkness. "Yada yada yada. Bleeding heart. Woe is me. Oh, I'm crying already...." mocked the Gas Man. A gas grenade fell from his hands. "Oooops. Butterfingers! I guess there will be plenty of tears now!" he laughed. Indeed there would be. He had dropped a tear gas grenade....
  3. Rev "Whoa! They are threatening to kill people! That's not cool! If you kill people, they might die from it!" This galvanised Rev into actoin. Not that she really needed galvanising. It was more like it had propelled her to move faster. "JET!" the flames on her feet burnt off her sneakers. "SET!" and now they smoked and burned furiously, the shiny metal feet exposed to the world, lifting her off the ground... "GO!" and she was in the air, soaring at tremendous velocity! "You cant steal that gold! Its theft!" she yelled, as she burned fuel hovering thirty feet above the two Gold men.
  4. Feel free to narrate your boom!
  5. I think given the combined INT of Synapse and Replica, their skills, and the fact that the WEST plane is very well equipped you can narrate that however you wish. The more interesting part, I think, is to make it look like a crash. It will of course look like one at first glance, but the issue is how long - if at all - the forensic examiners will take to determine it is "Fishy" ( by fishy I do not mean that it was you guys deliberately blowing it up, but there are some questionmarks such as lack of bodies, inclonclusive debris, etc). I think thats best done by a straight INT roll (I am open to suggestion!) DC 10 the examiners will take a day (for you guys, automatic!) DC 15 the examiners will take a week DC 20 the examiners will take a month DC 25 they cannot accurately determine, ever, if it was "fishy" I doubt you will need more than a week to get to Moscow, but...who knows?
  6. It is! Feel free to post ic !
  7. GM Cassie snapped back to the present (as far as she could tell) feeling transiently dazed from the shock of violence. "There must be something down here....some protector....!" she concluded. She looked around a moment, wondering if something was going to jump out and throttle her. "Perhaps it has died. But somehow I doubt it. Whatever you do, don't go taking anything!" she told Neil, firmly. She recalled the priestess-Godess' words. "She said something lurks down here...and that we would find answers here too...." There was simply no turning back now. "Our blood sweat and tears as well" she muttered to herself. She didn't mind sweating. She could happily miss the blood and tears. "Lets see what we can find..." she concluded, pressing on with the search...

    Red Net

GM North nodded at both Replica and Synapse. He was finding it hard to think straight. They could be anywhere! anytime! I mean...even I could be a sleeper! No! That way madness lies! He shook himself into focus. "We desperately need a way to counter Red Dawn. Between the Sleeper and Mother Board we are defenceless. I...hate to ask more of you, but if you can find out some way of protecting the world against them, the world, I am sure, would be most grateful...." He pondered the issue of blowing up the plane. "Much as it hurts to say, I think deception is our best weapon. If they think you are dead, they will have no reason to dismantle their training grounds in Moscow. True, they may do so out of pure paranoia, but they will at least think they have breathing space to do so, rather than just burn it" he reasoned. "But...you must take every precaution not to be spotted on your way to Moscow. I hope you can speak Finnish..." he explained. "And we do have a change of clothes around here. Including winter clothes. And even some emergency survival kit" he explained. "I have been out in the field before, many many years ago, when I was working for Medicine Sans Frontiers" he added, rather proudly. "I am rusty, but I think I can survive in the wilderness if we get enough supplies and equipment" "All thats left is to make the plane look like it has crashed. Or exploded. That's a bit beyond my skill set..."
  9. GM "Dear dear" said Finnigan, softly. He moved slowly, almost as if he was in pain. And as he shuffled forward, Justice could smell something rotten about him. Literally. "Woah there....you smell like a latrine!" spluttered the Gas Man. He held his nose with one hand and unslung his SMG with the other. "I have...a condition" mumbled Finnigan, his voice so soft it was almost hypnotic. "...I steal only to feed myself and my fingers. Outcasts, forgotten, unwanted. Society has spurned them and me both, and we have to survive. What is Justice?" he asked Justice. "Do you serve the laws of man, the cruel fixtures of society? or do you serve a more moral cause?" "Yeah yeah, blah blah...whatever man. I just want to get paid. Which means bruising my knuckles on your face and polishing my boots on your kidneys" said the Gas Man, recovering. His morals certain, he started reaching for one of his grenades attached to the bandolier around his chest....
  10. Technically dubious (as grappled means no physical action) but...I can't resist a head butt! Tough Save: 1d20+10 22 oof! Post that if you will, and lets see what Dust Devil can come up with!
  11. That hits! Could you give me the damage roll (1d20+damage of attack) which is opposed by...Opposed STR: 1d20+3 14 Also, I know you are struggling a bit with Goss. If you do wish to abandon ship...well, not ideal, but I don't want to flog a player into playing a PC they do not wish to. On the other hand, if you have any ideas to transform Goss into something more invigorating for you, please jot down any ideas.
  12. Rev "Twenty five dollars and a whistle" That was exactly how much was left to Rev by her Great Uncle, whom she hardly knew and whom had passed away last week. He had been a virtual recluse living in a trailer park and had barely kept in touch with Revs mother (twice in the last five years). It had been a stroke of fortune that anyone had even found his dead body. With such a character, the family lamented but did not collapse into grief. They had not expected any inheritance of note, and their expectations were duly met. She had taken the afternoon off early to go see the Solicitor, and had promised Fax they would have a blow out meal and all the Cherrypop! lollipops they could carry. Unfortunately, cheap as Cherrypop! was, twenty five dollars only went so far. Quite why her Great Uncle had left her a brass whistle was anybodies guess. She gave it a blow. It whistled. "Well, it whistles, Fax, at least...wait! look over there!" She pointed at the gold that was being purloined by gold. "Follow that bar!" she proclaimed. "....of gold!" she added.
  13. Im happy with whatever you choose, Rocket! (Including your orginal line up). Whatever you feel most comfortable with!
  14. So no poison effect but well and truly grappled. There is not much point in combat right now as the swarm of insects is not really a combat enemy but beast dealt with as an environmental effect. The snake will just be grappling (and crushing) Venomax, so the ball in your court, folks!
  15. It is! And then, if it hits (Smokeys defence is +10), an opposed damage vs STR roll.
  16. BUNTED BY TT Curveball Editted back in the picture. Very minor changes to grammar in fluff (tidy up). Tidied up throwing distance, giving example of baseball throwing distance (Which is really what will be used most of the time!) 16 PP to spend, just spending 13. PL boost to 8 Attack boosted to +9 (4 PP) Defence boosted to +9, +5 Flat footed (4 PP) Grapple therefore +14 (+16 Using all arms) Fortitude boosted to +10 (+5, +5 Con) (2 PP) 3 PP on skills +2 to Climb, making Climb 8 (+13) Skill Mastery +2 to Swim, making Swim 8 (+13) Skill Mastery +4 to Stealth, making Stealth 8 (+13) Skill Mastery +4 to Know [PC], making Knowledge [Popular Culture] 6 (+6)
  17. GM Right! The two pick pockets were glum. Caught Red handed and now also caught betwixt Justice and Vengeance (how often those two danced together!). They did, as it so happened, have to trudge through some sewers, but not for long. The light was still dim, and hard to see through, but between the two thieves familiarity with the area, and the Gas Man's night vision goggles, 'twas no so hard to navigate. Soon, a half dozen other thieves, all in their teens (although some were so shabby it was hard to know their age) were scuttling around them, whispering, and trying not to get shot. "Finnigan! Finnigan!" hissed the orange haired theif into the broken area they had arrived in. It was so crumbling that it was hard to tell if it was an old sewer, and old cellar, or an old building. Fortunately, this area had more cracks of light from above, and whilst it was still dim, one could at least half-see. In the shadows, a terribly thin, rather tall, bald man with sharp pointed features and black eyes emerged, dressed in antique dusty clothes which had been patched together into a rather eccentric style of yesteryear. "Yes....my fingers...." he said, rasping voice, slow of pace. He moved slowly but quietly, and his voice was not loud. His eyes looked carefully over the Gas Man and Justice. "Get yourself caught, did you?" he asked, sternly.
  18. Snakebite Cassie was no forensic psychologist. She could only guess that the man had been victim of some violent struggle, and a brutal unpleasant one at that. But...who knew for sure? perhaps he (or she) was throne down a pit. Or something unnatural had tossed him like a rag doll. The dagger of bone...a ritualistic device, surely. But perhaps something more. She kept hold of it. If there was a foul spirit down here, then maybe a dagge of bone would be more useful than a modern tranq-dart. "Then we best not make the same mistake" she said, gently putting the three pieces of jewelry down. It might rankle with Neil, but she would happily pay him the price of those pieces thrice over. "He met some grisly end, although what it was...." Was anybodies guess. But perhaps she need not guess. Touching the skeleton with the tips of her fingers, she forced her mind back through the storm of time, to see if she could witness the graverobbers demise....
  19. GM Setho the Sorcerer was fast, lightning fast. Maybe it was sorcery, maybe it was reptiliian reflexes, or maybe he was simply so experienced and old that he knew what to expect. But he leapt backwards, span left, and span right, like a cobra swaying to a pipe. "This is my domain, devil! I have walked this cavern, walked the tunnels through space and time, and prepared long. From the ancient past to the distant future, the snakes and poisonous beasts of the earth are mine to command!" "God! You are a God!" wailed Mr. Sting, as from every nook and cranny in the cavern poured a dozen stinging, biting horrors. Scorpions, spiders, snakes, even frogs and crawling slithering horrors that no man (yet) had seen. Each could be crushed under boot, but they were innumerable, like a slithering carpet. None were as big as the giant twenty foot snakes that had first greeted them, but the last remaining giant was not idle, rearing up and with a furious speed, sinking its fangs into Venomax...
  20. Both miss! In reposte, the last remaining snake will try and grab Venomax: Attacks Venomax: 1d20+5 22 Hitting! Poison fangs sink in, causing a Drain 5 (Con) effect, Fort Save And as a reflex, it will try coiling around Venomax, giving rise to a grapple check please: Opposed Grapple: 1d20+17 37! And then, as per IC. The small snakes are individually nothing to worry about, but their are hundreds of them slithering out of every pore of the cavern, and this is - of course - a threat to you, Abdul, and Mr. Sting!
  21. Starshot It was a good question, and Starshot did not, as yet, have a good answer. He wanted to find out if the Ul-Mor would help, but had not got so far as to consider how. That was a much more complicated question, practically and ethically. Should they try to eliminate the false pirate religion, or replace it? Twist it? Turn it? Bah, he was not a sociologist! We do not yet know. We wish to free all those enslaved, and are going to the sky-villains...camp....we wish to learn of them, and once we understand them, we will try to free the natives of this world. When we do, we ask of you to help us... It was a vague, but honest answer. You may come with us, or if you wish, we can find you when we have learned what we need to learn...
  22. Mr Murk "Thank you" answered Mr. Murk, satisfied with all Tsunami's answers. "It is pertinent question. I do not know the answer, although I wonder often. Fear, I think. Everyone is afraid, and fear is often the mother of violence" he pondered. He nodded to one of the waiters. "The Codex, if you please...." The Codex was a large leather bound volume, thick with parchment. It had an old, antique feel, and a faint red colour. It came with old fashioned quill and ink well. "The Codex Immortus. Herein lies the written word of the Codus Immortus, and the signatures of all those who have agreed to its principles. And, on occassion, those who have left" He took the great book almost lovingly. "It is here for you to peruse, and here for you to sign, if you so desire...." he said, quiet and regal, handing the tome over to Tsunami.
  23. GM "Hmmm....well it sounds light poetic justice to me" replied the Gas Man, although he did not disagree with Justice. "We'll see how it goes..." he said, non-commitally, and slung his gun over his shoulder. "I gotta get paid, and I gotta keep my reputation. Sounds like Finnigan needs his ass kicked. If you help me kick it, I ain't got no objections" He flipped down the IR goggles and looked forward down the tunnel. "So you know where he is? I don't want to ruin my boots treading through a sewer all day. And I certainly don't want to be crawling through it...."
  24. D'oh! I'm good with that, but I am not sure Rev and V are the best match due to ages and Rev being a sort of Claremonter. Curveball may just be a better idea as they are both in Emerald City (although the PL difference may be an issue). Lament may be an idea too, as he is a bit of a roamer and could easily end up in EC (and is similar PL). I dont have any strong feelings on the matter and happy to go with anybody but thats just my vague musings.
