  1. oof that will probably hurt 21 is a relatively lucky escape just bruised (+?injured)
  2. Gamma Buzz Feeling like he had gone ten rounds with Mike Tyson, Baz shook his head. This wasn't at all like training. His head felt like it was in eight places at once... and not in a good way. His unfocussed and blurred vision slid to the sight of Lawrence getting blasted by lightning. Or at least maybe blasted. He couldnt quite process all the data. The sight of his budy getting shot at was enough to give him a bit of focus. "Hands off my buddy, mister... or misses... or thing..." he couldn't really make sense of the haze. But the concern for Lawrence brought some steel to his head. And more than steel. A blast of deadly non-lethal GAMMA LASER streamed for his eyes, bullseying the lightning throwing villain!
  3. Think Baz will do that (down to 4 HP) He will stay prone but fire a Gamma blast at Amaki (who was attacking his friend Lawrence) Move action will scuttle to get an angle and away from the drones next to him. 26 for attack roll, hopefully that hits and is a DC 23 Tough save.
  4. GM "Punishment!" gasped the mother. "There is no punishment! There is only vengeance! Do you know what it is to have a child? To LOSE a child? Even with our best doctors, RUST is terrible! And so is my RAGE!" Her massive fist, bigger than the fire engine, smashed downwards, breaking the remains of the roof, and colliding straight with Dwayne. "Wait! Mother!" yelled Mr Metal, eyes wide and wet with mercury tears... But the Metal Mother did not wait. She SMASHED!
  5. GM The fist is so big we shall treat it as an AoE effect attack - Damage 16 effect (Reflex DC 26, then Tough 31/23) Dont worry too much as this will end soon!
  6. Snakebite "Wood! I wooden believe it!" She cast her eyes to see if any tumbleweed and whisked across the chasm. Non had, despite the terrible pun. Comedy was not part of the smorgesbord of her skill set. She got up, wincing slightly, dusting herself off. Any tears in the clothes? That was the thing... in this temperature, even Snakebite would not survive long with ripped clothing. With her amazing Snake eyes, she studied the GPS. Like comedy, electronics was not really in her skill set, but she knew the basics. With a little jiggle there, and a little tweak here, and then a bit of blind luck in the mix, she shook the GPS signal back into life. "Well, I guess its onwards and... upwards?"
  7. 21 the luck surely will run out! (Also has Jack of All Trades so can use skills untrained as trained! Yippee!)

    Haven

Haven Power Level: 10 (248/250) Unspent Power Points: 2 Trade-Offs: +2 Attack/-2 DC w/ Sword, no Trade-Offs otherwise In Brief: Computer Hacktavist downloaded into programmable matter Alternate Identity: Previously; Milo Makino Birthplace: Tokyo Residence: Emerald City Base of Operations: Emerald City Occupation: Computer Engineer Affiliations: Computer Hackers around the globe, particularly Japan, Korea. Family: None alive Description: Age: Downloaded aged 37 Gender: Previously Male Ethnicity: Previously half Korean, half American Height: 6’0” Weight: 60Kgs Eyes: Varies, or shining with blue light. Hair: Varies, or none (previously, black) In his default form, Haven looks like a swarm of interlocking tiny chrome cubes in the shape of a man with vaguely Japanese features. He usually wears expensive suits. He can rearrange his matter to any shape, including growing extra limbs as required. In the middle of his chest, unseen, is his computer-brain; a 7x7x7 inch black box. Haven adopts a form based on his memories, that of Milo Mikano, a stylish and cool looking half Korean Man, usually wearing an expensive suit. History: Milo Mikano was born in Tokyo but spent most of his life travelling between Japan (where his father was based) and America (where his mother was). Both were computer hackers, and Milo had the same knack, the same brilliance, and the same rather stiff personality. His mother succumbed to a neurodegenerative disorder when Milo was 14 years old. A year later, Japanese organised crime took vengeance on his father. Aged 15, young Milo took to the shadows and began working as a computer hacktivist and fraudster. In his thirties, he showed the same signs of neurodegenerative illness as his mother. He took the bold move of stealing cutting edge computer technology and reprogramming it to upload his consciousness. No longer human – and perhaps no longer the same person, the entity known as Haven moved to Emerald City to start again, still determined to fight crime and corruption. Personality & Motivation: Stiff, determined, philosophical Haven has driven, determined personality. He is crisp and to the point, sometimes even blunt, but is well intentioned, seeking to better society and ease suffering. The slow and painful death of his mother drove him to create the “Haven” – a virtual reality that he, and others, can escape to free from the burdens and pains of life. It is also a safe place to hold meetings between various collaborators or enemies. Haven seeks to resolve things efficiently, effectively, and humanely (in that order). Haven is thoughtful and philosophical by nature, although direct and quick when called to action. Haven sometimes gets drawn into a melancholy reflection of who he is and the life lost. In particular, he laments the loss of his sense of smell. Powers & Tactics: Havens morphic matter can take a variety of forms; something he uses primarily as a spy aid, adopting the appearance of anyone – or anything (like a table or potted plant). He can also grow additional limbs – or even gliding wings, although this will tear a suit, something he is reluctant to do. In combat, he can induce electromagnetic currents; EMP blasts, lightning flashes, and magnetic fields. Most usually, he will fire red electric bolts from his eyes or fingertips. His HAVEN alt form allows he, and any who wish to join, access to a virtual reality that Haven controls. Participants can leave at any time. Whilst in this network, speed of thought is sped up, and there is access to incredible computer power and data storage. The downside is that those in the network have absolutely no access to their body which is totally paralysed, helpless, and not aware of any sensation (including things like thirst or hunger), meaning they (and Haven himself) are extremely vulnerable. Haven can plug himself into a power source to slowly regenerate wounded components, which he will do if injured in a fight. He also needs to periodically recharge to maintain normal operation and use powers. Typically he prefers not to fight at all, but in a manner similar to his blunt and efficient personality, he has no hesitation in doing so if it is necessary or effective. If he cannot use his electromagnetic powers for some reason (including the need for stealth), he would not object to using hand to hand martial combat – he sometimes carries and uses swords for this purpose. Power Descriptions: Havens electromagnetic powers manifest as powerful sparks of green electricity that shoot from his body, and erupt at the target. They can also cause sparks flying from lights and electrical devices, or even metal, all around him (See complication below). Complications: Suited up: Even though he can change his appearance, Haven has a particular fondness for a real crisp suit and will wear one as default (potentially making him identifiable). He also may be reluctant to use additional limbs and morph powers (depending on their nature) for fear of ripping a suit. Enemies: (Also: Possible plot hook) Cyber criminals and far east organised crime have bones to pick with Haven. In addition, corrupt mega-businesses, whose IT systems he is constantly probing, have plenty of reason to strike at Haven. Recharge Needed: Haven regularly needs to plug himself into a power source; not just to repair himself, but to maintain his powers or even his basic functions. Magnetic Disruption: Magnetic fields disrupt Havens form. Even a fridge magnet will cause an undulating ripple on his skin, larger fields will disrupt his morphing and additional limbs powers altogether. Very powerful fields may even have other effects (like disrupting his own electromagnetic powers). Fireworks: Beyond the normal visibility of powers, Haven’s electromagnetic powers cause widespread sparking and highly visible effects, making them easily noticeable (to visual and radio senses) even from a distance. The sparks may also set fires. Transmission Error: Being close to a powerful radio transmission would interfere with Haven’s speech. He will either “speak” static, or the speech/music of the radio transmission. Aside from inability to communicate, this means a powerful radio transmission can “hijack” his voice, making him say something completely wrong or inappropriate. 10. Rev In Super Grand Prix It was racing season again, and Rev wanted to race. It wasn’t that simple. Even before her accident, the mechaphage, the skin and bones being eaten away and replaced by shiny chrome and pulses of electrical power, Lexa Venn had always loved cars. Particularly cars travelling very fast, belching gas, grinding gears and pumping pistons. Beautiful, ugly, entrancing. And the most exciting version of fast cars? Chases! Official sport races were just chases, when you boiled down to it. Perhaps not quite as exciting; you wouldn’t be able to release your caltrops, or fire your missile launchers. You wouldn’t get somebody leaning out of a window firing an uzi. But those kind of chases weren’t easy to come by, and you wouldn’t normally do it in F1 cars driven by F1 drivers. So it was down to Mexico for summer holidays, closing down her chop shop for a few weeks and trying to slide into the competition. It was bittersweet, laced with frustration. Lexa would have given anything to step into one of those cars, feel the rumbling engine in her bones. To feel the thrill of throttle, the smell of burning rubber, to pit wits against other drivers, other engines. But Rev wasn’t human; at least as far as the governing bodies of the race track where concerned. This was the rub; superheroes and sport – be it on foot, on the racing track, or even electronic sports. You couldn’t have Centurion entering a weight lifting competition. And that was simple. Often, things were a lot more fuzzy, a lot more messy. What constituted a superhuman? When was there an advantage? Could a man with cybernetic eyes enter a marathon? Maybe. But maybe the ability to calculate distances and pace and incline instantly was an advantage, no matter how slight. “Cmon!” said Rev, throwing her hands up in exasperation at the adjudicator of the race. “What kinda advantage would I get?” Ms Sands, a tall, dusty woman wearing a little too much makeup, raised her eyebrows. “We have to think of the other players, dear. Let them have a fair race.” Lexa winced at the term dear but let it slide. “Why would I make it unfair?” Ms Sands reached out with her black ink pen, and flicked it onto Lexa’s bare forearm. The synthetic skin undulated, and the chrome underneath went ting. “That’s why. Humans only.” Lexa rolled her red eyes skywards. “I am human.” “Not according to us. Non medical cybernetics. Abnormal blood results. You wouldn’t let a driver race if he was high on amphetamines, would you?” “That would be his choice. What choice do I have?” Ms Sands shrugged apologetically. “I sympathise, dear, I do. But our priority is the sport. We cant let people in who are… well, super.” There was something in that voice, that word. Super. Disdain, envy… no overt, but gently bubbling. And why not? Only human to covet what others had and what you did not. Lexa did it herself. What the lovely Ms Sands did not know was the cost. The Mechaphage had changed her body, and not always for the better. “Rules are meant to be fair!” she said, knowing the battle was lost and this wild shot – an appeal to reason – wasn’t going to change anything. It was reflex, perhaps, or just some defiant spit at the enemy. “Now you just sound like a child,” said Ms Sands. Lexa clenched her fists, went red, and stormed off. She felt like a child, that was for sure. And she was only twenty. Old enough to drive, she reminded herself. Not a kid. Not anymore. She paced through the racing venue, feeling the urge to kick something – a trash can, maybe – across the floor. A thousand arguments rattled around her head, all screaming its not fair, and injustice! Super-phobia. Discrimination. She would go to the press, hire a lawyer, protest in the street, post on social media. But this was gnashing of teeth. What she ended up doing was walking to the garages. Security was there, but Lexa had a pass, and a grin, and – in this circle at least – a certain amount of fame that greased wheels and opened doors. And she had, when money was a little tight, endorsed various engine oils and parts, for a little (or more) pocket cash. She could cash in that goodwill now. The cars themselves were all beautiful. Shining, clean. Some had their hoods popped open, with top rated mechanics and engineers examining the contents, ensuring everything as greased and functional as could be. No wire would be left loose, nothing would jiggle when it shouldn’t. Tyres and undercarriages were also being inspected. Lexa stopped to inspect one of the engines, her nostrils inhaling the fine aroma of oils and metals. A leathery mechanic, probably younger than he looked, leant on the popped bonnet and clucked in satisfaction. “Beauty, int she?” he drawled. Southern accent. Rev looked up with a grin. “Sure. You get to work on this?” “Pretty much her nanny,” said the Mechanic. “Feed her, clean her, oil her. A bit of an obsession, but I never had kids, so a man’s gotta plow that love somewhere, right?” “Sure…” agreed Rev. It was true, but there was that pang. Her uterus, ovaries were more metal than flesh. She would never have children. She doubted she would have wanted them, but somehow the fate that she couldn’t was a nail in her heart. “I reckon I know you…” said the mechanic. “Rev, right? The kid with jets?” Rev smiled. She wasn’t unknown, but she wasn’t famous either. But when it came to the world of racing cars, she was much better known. She stuck up her thumb, her signature, and from the tip of her thumb came a two inch blue flame. “You got me!” “Pleased to meet ya. Cant say I am surprised to see you here, you got a fan club amongst our kind. But kinda figured you would be racing today.” Rev’s smile vanished like a windscreen wiper had scraped it off. “Can’t. No supes…” The mechanic shrugged. “Figures. Can’t say if that’s right or wrong, fair or otherwise. But must be disappointing?” “I’ll say.” The mechanic looked back at the engine. “You gotta deal with whats infront of you, ‘s my philosophy, right?” “Roll over and die?” “No. That’s not dealing with it. Look, how about you set up your own race? Down here in Mexico? Super-races. Gotta be a tone of supers with nuclear powered hover cars, or enhanced reflexes, right? Set it in the desert. Throw in some smoke, fireworks, and spikes. Could be a thing, right?” It could be a thing indeed. “I could do that?” she asked. “Let me make some phone calls….” Said the mechanic, with a toothy smile. And thus, in 2024, the spark that would become the Mexican Super-Wheels race began. A two week summer party every year, full of Tequila, music, thrills, spills, and atomic super-cars!
  11. GM "YOU KILLED MY BABY!" screamed the enormous metal mother. "Errr.... Honesty isnt always the best policy...." muttere Mr Metal, cowering. An enormous metal hand reached through the hole in the roof and sploshed around the water. The hand started rusting, decaying, and the metal mother winced. But she sooon fished out the rusted remains of her son, before turning venomous eyes to Dwayne. "DID YOU DO THIS? MY BABY????" One hand held the rust of her son. The other... was clenched into an enormous fist!
  12. Snakebite This was like a playground slide. Of gold! But more thrilling. And dangerous. It was, Cassandra noted, as she sailed through the air, rather lamentable that danger and thrills went hand in hand. How much simpler life would be if one could be thrilled without the risk of falling into a bottomless pit - and presumably a bottomless pit that actually had a bottom. A bottom full of sharp and poisonous spikes, one would imagine. The thought flashed through her head like lightning, and then she was back in the moment, grasping on to the rope with two wiry hands, praying to multiple pantheons of Gods that the rope would not snap (Cassandra was tall and strong, but surprisingly light), and doing her best to leverage her momentum into a swing across the chasm!
  13. GM When Jack pushed back on his anger, the Shadow's eyes rolled back in pure delight. "Never have I felt such a feast..." it whispered. Jack couldn't swear it, but the Shadow almost looked fatter. "I'm...I'm fine...." gulped the man, clearly in pain. His eyes flicked over to the Shadow. "What... what the hell is that?" he gasped, crossing himself. "Am I seeing things?" he asked Jack. "Please, tell me I am seeing things! I... I think I need the hospital... I must have got kicked in the head or something... I can see a shadow. With eyes! Looking at me!" "That's right, Sunshine!" smiled Sunshade. "And talking to me!" gasped the terrified man, grasping Jack by the lapels. "Please! Help me! I think I have a concussion!"
  14. Name: Baltazar "Baz" Botez Codename: Gamma Buzz Year: Junior Pronouns: Him Current Intramural Team: TBD Current Roommate: Timeout Goal: To start using his powers properly. Thoughts... Adulthood is fast approaching, and Baltazar better start planning for the future!

    Pitch

Thats completely reaonable. I have replaced it with Nullify (Mechanical) which may be a cooler power anyway!
  16. Snakebite "Aha! Greed!" said Cassie, shaking herself out of the hypnotic seductiveness of greed. Greed came in many shapes, many forms. Gold? Nice, but not necessary. Glory was another matter. And here she had failed! She may not have wanted the gold, but it would soon be poring into her lungs. She struggled to keep afloat in the coinage. Her eyes caught the hatch. It was the best option - or, to put it another way, it was the least truly awful option. So she took it and dived into the coins, powerful arms propelling her through the coinage with breast strokes, fighting to keep her lungs full of air and not coin by heavy nose breathing. And then, wiry fingers from her wiry hands grasped the hatch and pulled!
  17. Swimming through gold! Escape Artist - skill mastery - 30 result. Thats snake like flexibility for you! Swimming is a bit different 27 pretty good! This thread is turning into the world record for different skills used!
  18. Bloody Mess The Mess turned his head left, then right. Then, his head rapidly oscillated betwixt both positions, with a swishing sound that belonged in a cartoon, or, hypothetically, in the text of some constructed story about his exploits written on the internet. "Wh-Wh----" For a moment he couldn't decide whether to take chase or not. He couldn't be in two places at once, could he? Overthinking was not a torment Bloody Mess was subjected to. Anarchilles was the guy who annoyed him most, and would put up the best fight. So, toxic blood blisters bursting over his skin, he made his mind up and jumped. "Say hello to righty!" he proclaimed, before unleashing a massive sucker punch from lefty! KER-POW! "Gotcha!"
  19. PS Let me know if its ok to post IC
  20. So if its ok Mess will jump to Anarchilles and punch him! Shitfting +2 Attack/-2 Defence (All Out) 28! Which I think makes a DC 25 Toughness Damage and DC 16 Fort Nauseate

    Pitch

Awesome, thanks Fox! Typo corrected on disability Equipment 9 now listed Hellfire breath - you are absolutely right - changes made, brings it in to 39 PP (in cost) Snare - I think it needs the drawback for theme, as you say - more than 300' of chain is weird. Also, it should be rank 12 (I think somehow I mixed up Hellfire breath and Snare ranks...) Ignite - its a fair point (although actually -4 below PL). Can be countered by stuns, and fairly easy to put out (immersion for instance), but I can change this is you wish. It does lock the Infernal forge array so in many ways its not so effective. One thing about Pitch is lack of mobility. I could change it to concentration duration and up the PL but I wonder if that is actually more effective... But I absolutely need to add in counterable so have done so... Create object / Teleport - PP corrected Tazel - what a mess. Corrected. I missed Insubstantial 2 in power so that should now all add up.
  22. GM Mr Metal's feet were in bad shape, without question. He wailed tears of mercury. "I want my mummy!" A deep rumbling sprouted from the earth. A quake. No. More than I quake. "I AM HERE, LITTLE ONE!" "Mummy!" yelled Mr. Metal. The roof of the Firestation was ripped open like it was made of paper. Above, a metal woman over a hundred feet high, face contorted in anger, fear, and determination. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?" Yelled mother. "THIS PLACE IS FORBIDDEN! DANGEROUS!!!! LOOK AT ALL THE WATER!!!!!!" Mr Metal could not answer, wracked in sobs. "WHERE IS YOUR BROTHER?" asked mother, scanning the surface of the water, with suspicious rust sediments....
  23. Snakebite "Rich..." Cassandra whispered the words, mesmerised. She shook her head. "No, I have riches..." "Famous!" A cruel smile swept over her faces. "Yes. Fame. Glory..." Those words were not whispered, but sung. With relish. Some part of her mind protested this was a trap, but it was smothered. The rat was somehow something she always wanted, and always would. All caution and wit flushed down the garbage chute, Cassandra strode over the gold coins and grabbed the statue with both hands, eyes glinting.
