  1. Sgt Shark "God-things?" replied Victor, bemused. He was a man who only believed what he saw, or touched, or heard. A man who lived in the concrete and palpable. Everything else was idle speculation for poets and painters, philosophers and madmen (And, he thought, often all four came in one package). He appreciated art, but it was not blood or adrenaline and made no pretence to be (for the most part). "If they do not like me, then so be it" he concluded, fearlessly. With that determination made, he swam towards the Kraken...
  2. Feel free to narrate a scene cut to wherever you want to meet Violet, @Kai Wren!
  3. GM "A useful talent" said Violet, frowning. "And one that I am grateful for. You certainly got rid of those fumes" she said more kindly. "I, for one, would appreciate all the help we can get". She crossed her arms and gave Victoria a look. "I think it is time we had words" she said, firmly. "Things are not always as they appear to be, and rarely as they should be" she said, dripping cryptic philosophy. "But I say we should talks as soon as possible. Time is dripping between our fingers. Who knows what else is happening at the Square Moon?" she suggested firmly. "So tell me where, and I will be there".
  4. Rev Rev forced her limbs to stop whirring and shaking, trying to click them out of their spastic seizures. It was an effort, but they finally started obeying her. "That was shocking!" she grumbled, and was not best pleased that her furious tremors had contributed to the cowboys getting away. "What is this, the wild west?" Well, something suspicious was up. But the automatons were fortunately lined up to provide some release from the irritation. She clenched her metal fists, ignited a pilot light, and let loose an incandescent stream of purple hot plasma in a wonderfully pretty cone. "Lighten up, boys!" she grunted as she did her best to melt them down to slag.

GM "Hmmm? Followed?" asked Armitage. "Why would I be followed? Only Miss Drake knows of the Mask and I, and..errrr.... His train of thought finally caught up with the reality of the situation. "...she could have tapped my phone signal...couldn't she? Or something. I am not familiar with this modern fad for electronicals" he confessed. To punctuate his point, Bonfire saw three men, astride quad-bikes, carefully ambling towards the two of them, trying to look inconspicuous, and looking very intently at the bag with the mask in.
  6. GM "The music, what is it?" pondered Violet, tapping her chin thoughtfully. "That is interesting. And it makes sense, I suppose. Music has a beat, a rhythm, even a time signature. It is regular. At least, usually it is regular. There are aberrations", she added. "Time is of great interest to me. To us" she said, adding in Victoria as an afterthought. "Although we may not agree on everything" she added, more coldly. "In any case, whatever is going on here is an insult to time itself, it seems. I would burn the place to the ground...but I do think we must understand what is going on, and fully. There may be wisdom within the madness" she suggested. "In any case, we have saved some souls and corrected the abomination" she concluded. "But what now? Regroup and lick our wounds?"
  7. Sgt Shark Victor would have raised an eyebrow, if he still had any. "Were-shark? Sea-devil? I am neither of those" he said. "But if you are here seeking sea serpents, then perhaps those sea serpents are the cause of the ships lost here" he suggested, black eyes impenetrable. "I am on a mission from the British Government to find the cause of the lost ships. No storms in the area. Three ships lost in good weather means that something fishy is up, if you pardon the expression" he explained, a grin on his face. But then, he had a kind of grin most the time. "What are your intents on this matter?" he asked the other two.
  8. Sgt Shark "Heads up Sarge! Over the target area!" Victor gave the thumbs up and dove out of the helicopter, straight into the Atlantic. The water cooled and soothed his skin and instantly he found himself in his element once again. The helicopter had taken him into the ocean faster than he could swim which was the only reason to travel that way. Swimming was better in every other aspect. He propelled himself down first, past the turbulence of the waves, and then levelled out. Sea serpents would be a sight to see, and pretty much everybody wanted to know what happened to those three ships. Including the British Government. No problem. He had thought. Then he smelled something. Something shark like. And in the dim light of underwater, he could see too. He swam towards the creature and stopped, floating underwater. "Ho! What are you, and why are you here?" he said, studying the creature. His instincts were ready for a fight, but he wouldn't draw blood yet, not till he understood what was going on. He understood well enough the political sensibilities of events beneath the waves, what with the Atlantean incident...
  9. GM And thus, at the back of the Square Moon, outside the Fire Escape... Violet hauled the last semi-comatose victim out. All five intoxicated men and women lolled about in a drunken stupor, eyes glazed, smiles wan but fixed. "There we go...that's my workout for today" she said, sweating. "But it's not over. Something crazy is going on down there. The music. The drugs. The dead woman" she said, stating the perfectly obvious. "We can't just let this drop" she said, confronting Victoria. "We need to work out what is happening. What strange forces are down there. That woman...that dead woman. I saw what happened. She is slowing time, or something? what happened when she touched you?" she asked.
  10. Yep! On the principle that if the GM thinks its cool, its cool!
  11. GM And a blast of stagnant air hit Voin and Frost as the cave entrance opened. Inside, it was small, cramped even. The cave of a thousand years ago had half collapsed, but despite this, one could see the slumbering enormous giant that was Dreadnought. One might think he was a statue, or dead, for all he moved. He gave off an aura of calm repose. Whilst there was no danger of falling asleep, one would have the distinct impression that if one did wish to slumber, it would be the easiest and quickest of things. But now, with the cave opened, the spell was evaporating, and the giant awakening...

GM Armitage raised his eyebrows at the disguise. "Goodness, I could have walked right pass you. Teach me to keep my eyes open I suppose. I confess I was rather distracted by the awful spectacle over there" he nodded at Chill Pill. He peered inside the bag. "Ah yes, there is it. Foul and eldritch, to be sure" he nodded, not touching the mask or the bag. "Dare I ask how your procured it? Never mind, I suppose I would be better off not knowing" he conceded. "Drake is rather livid with me. Swore she would put my head on a platter, or something like that. Probably involving entrails and red hot pokers. Suitably brutal. I swear she thinks she is some queen of the middle ages. And not the good sort, either" he added. "Now, the question of what to do with this mask. Have you pondered the matter?"

GM And so...a little later, at Liberty Park When it came to media, Zyte was a master of all trades. And this included the noble art of the Paparazzi. So, he had secreted himself in some bushes with a powerful zoom lens camera and was filimng everything with he eagle eyes. Chill Pill, in his bright blue spandex, was attracting attention from kids, families, and joggers who were passing by. "Show us some tricks!" was a frequent call, and soon he had become the centre of a small crowd, throwing out icicles and snow. "How did you get your powers?" was the next most frequent ask, and Chill Pill looked vague and uncomfortable. "I..ah...a lady gave them to me. A little Snowbird...ah...gave me ah...special medicine!" he blustered, tripping over his own tongue and looking increasingly uncomfortable in his new role as attraction of LIberty Park. Armitage strolled past, trying to ignore Chill Pill and concentrating on looking elegant in his tweed suit. He walked to a bench and sat waiting for Bonfire to appear.
  15. GM Jon mumbled something along the lines of "where did they go..." but frankly he was too drunk on the fumes to see five feet in front of him with any clarity, let alone follow Incognito's ninja skills. Violet looked around - she had lost Victoria but was less surprised. "Clever...." she acknowledged. She was as cool as her cold blonde hair, though, and did not lose temper over the matter, at least visibly. "Come on, Mister. Time to get out of here" she said, voice disappointed. She half dragged Jon with her. There was indeed a fire escape, which could be unbolted from the inside, leading into a chilly night air. The Bartender scuttled away, back to the kitchen area, quite white with dread, her face a mask of cold sweat.
  16. Notice Roll: 1d20+12 22 bingo, go ahead!
  17. If you make a stealth roll, yes!
  18. GM Violet stopped at Victoria's rebuke. "Is that you speaking, or the Wheel?" she asked, defiantly. "Just going along with what they say without understanding what is going on? Did they completely brainwash you? Think for yourself!" she demanded. The Bartender's eyes looked left and right to try and find some escape from the situation. And yet, there was none. "Sure, sure. Just let me go and I'll go to the cops and tell them everything! That's right! Full confession! Just let me go because I sure am an Idiot!" she babbled. She gave up trying to claw out of the iron grip that Incognito had on her.
  19. Starshot Starshot gave a quick smile of satisfaction. "Shocking" he quipped. Not a characteristic trait of his, but he could not resist the grim humour. He ducked down quickly and turned away from the explosion, again feeling more positive. This was going well, much better than he had expected, although the solider in him knew things could change very quickly, and the longer this went on the more chaos was introduced. He spun around again and took a swing, but a little too fast - or too slow. The robot moved out of his fists admittedly rather telegraphed pole. He resolved to stop spinning. It didn't do his balance any good....
  20. GM The woman gasped as grasped, and tried without success to keep her top hat from falling symbolically to the ground. "What? We didn't....ack! It was the music! the music! It drove us all mad! Like it had too many notes in too many dimensions! I never heard anything like it!" she babbled. "Gloria wasn't the only one, but she was the only one that we managed to pin down! We had to try and save her!" she continued. "We are like family here, and we wanted to understand what was happening! See if we could do anything!" she gulped. "We should try to understand what's happening here..." said Violet softly. "Before we do anything..." "What about those people down there?" mumbled the drugged Jonathan. At this, the bow tied woman blushed and looked awful. "We...needed to...understand what was happening..." she reiterated weakly. "And we had...ahhh....special drugs...." she explained letting the conclusion unspoken but obvious. Experimentation....

GM And so, just outside the police station, Bonfire met Chill Pill and Zyte. It would be melodramatic to say they were having an argument, but it was a conversation with friction. "You told me I was going to be a hero!" said Chill Pill, who was not chill, nor a pill. Unless it was a pro-anger pill. "Calm down! Calm down! Take a chill p...I mean take a deep breath! In...out....and repeat after me. I. Am. A. Star!" "I..AM...A...STAR...." grunted Chill Pill. "At least I better be!" he said, a frosty and nasty glance sent to Zyte, who turned to Bonfire and rolled his eyes. "That's right. Group hug everybody!" he sighed.

  23. ok so feel free to banter as long as you wish whilst clearing the rocks. And quite how your clear them / burrow into the cave / whatever to get inside, please feel free to narrate as per your wishes!
  24. GM Gold and treasures there may have been, but for now, all that could be seen was green hills and grey rocks. And of course the drizzle of tepid rain. Murk may have been blind but he had spent years crafting a perfect map of the area with help from scholars scribes and geologists. He had even accounted, by best estimate, for geological shift over the years. Fortunately, the area was undisturbed by urban life, and bar the odd sheep grazing here and there, had not been transformed by man. And thus, it was easy enough to work out where Dreadnought lay. An cave hidden by a mound of rocks.
