  1. Tagging this here, and so on and so forth, and verily, and forsooth, so it is, to be sure.
  2. Fine by me! Casy sneaking into recording position, Marie just behind you.
  3. GM "Good thing I brought my camera!" replied Casey, bringing out said professional camera; small, sleek, and elegant. There was not a massive commotion, just a sense of anxiety in the church. Casey sneaking up, following Bonfire. Marie full of defiance, but keeping pace just behind Bonfire. Outside, a military armoured car was parked of impressive size and impressive armour, complete with all the trimmings. A radar dish, tinted windows, and a small armoured turret with a big armoured barrel. Speakers crackled, and a magnified voice came up. "Two for the price of one! Boy, I hit paydirt! Wheres the on-switch for those speakers..." "...." "...." "Oh cr---*ahem*---right you bozos! Come in quietly. There is a big bounty on your head! You are wanted for questioning, and resistance is futile and all that. I don't want to take in a superhero, but I'm gonna damn well try if I have to. Better for everyone if we just keep this nice and civil like..." It didn't sound like Green, even through the speakers. Gasman Bounty Services was painted, almost professionally, on the side of the Vehicle.
  4. My inclination for Dr Warp is to find out what was stolen then go to Club Ice, but not set on it. giving chase? Happy to go with what you guys want.
  5. "This calls for some detective work! Does your utility belt carry a magnifying glass?" he asked them both, although no he could see no such belt. "You both have such magnificent costumes, shows off your six packs magnificently, just like mine!" he said happily, punching his flabtastic abdomen. He waddled up to the tyre marks on the road, peering at the tarmac with his own amazing "Warp Vision". "Club Ice? Anybody know it?" he asked the two heroes. "Obviously I am too cool and hip to know of such places".
  6. Yup, sorry the -5 Defence one!
  7. Would your character be willing/able/wanting to travel to a technology expo and if so how far? Yes, and pretty much any where in the world. Has money to buy charter a plane, and interest in all sorts of technology. Would you be interested in a bit of houseruling mechanics for something that rarely comes up? Rules are the map, not the chains. Whatever works best for the story. I am a rules anarchist, not a lawyer. My only preference is to keep the narrative flowing. And most importantly, are you OK with rubber science because me am not the smarts. Fine by me. Bend and distort to your hearts content. Narrative first.
  8. "By the chains eternal" commanded Pitch at the dog. "Slay them! I command thee!" Her words rumbled in more than just this world, full of fire and portent. And, she thought proudly, full of a good old fashioned bit of Shakespearian drama. Pausing but a moment to speak, she brought the Cantos cane down heavily, once more, smashing the skull of another four legged fiend. "You will all fall!" she swore.
  9. Move action will be to order enthralled Hellhound to bite another. The take 10 (attack roll 19) to power attack a distracted Hellhound, which would mean DC 15 + 8 + 2 = 25 Toughness Save
  10. GM "Shutting down nuclear reactors might not be considered safe" said Casey in response. "Neither are nuclear reactors" replied Marie. Casey drummed her fingers on her note book. "Look, I'd like to help. A lot of people would. But right now, you are both head deep in it. I can get some people to look at the data, pull a few strings, get you a lawyer maybe. I heard the Fens has cool one, although she is a bit spooky" "But it may not be enough. Can you get some dirt on Neutron Industries? Something that can draw a straight line between the company and some illegal activity? The word is they are dirty but stay within the law..." she explained, almost apologetically. "They dump chemicals and radioactive waste, totally illegally..." said Marie, contemplating plan of attack. "The sewers of Freedom City, for starters. But not just the sewers..." Revd South's stick tapped the cold stones of the church, and he slowly made his way up the two women and bonfire. "Excuse me, I think you folks have a problem. Some guy in an armoured car just pulled up outside, demanding your surrender..."
  11. GM Casey nodded enthusiastically, scribbling with her pen in shorthand. Hostages....Marie....Sewers.... ....Mercs....Uranium.....Rats.... ....Camera's...Security....Robots!....Reactor.... She gleefully took the data stick. "Thanks, I'll get some friends looking at this. You know, you have a lot of support in the underground, journalists, hackers, you know...anarchists" she explained. "You can count on friends there" Turning sour, she continued. "On the flip side, corperate America is after your throat. And the law is somewhere in between. Wanted for questioning as a matter of urgency. But at least they can see there is more than one side to the story". So there it was. Friends, Enemies, and the law in the middle. "But the most important question is: why? you broke the law. Does the ends justify the means?" she asked. "Damn yes!" hissed Marie, her goggled eyes-flaring. Casey ignored Marie, and kept looking at Bonfire for an answer.
  12. Wearily, Starshot climbed down from his mount. Gah! How his muscles ached. He tried to rub some feeling back into them. He was not used to such a strange gait by a mount. He spared an admiration for the hardy beast he had ridden. He checked once again on Laark, hoping the long ride had not reopened wounds. His medkit was running low; he had only taken the very barest of provisions. A few more shots of biospectrum antibiotics and omni-narc painkillers, but out of dressings. Wandering to the camp they had set up, relived it was on solid rock, he took off his helm and once again tapped his head as an invitation to a tentacle. We thank you for your help and grace. We surely would be honoured to join such a noble tribe. May we learn the rites of passage?
  13. No worries. Its enough to make her helpful.
  14. May want a diplomacy roll soon: Casey is Friendly at the moment.
  15. Casey wrinkled her nose. A few other church goers tutted and scuttled sideways, like nervous crabs. Revd South groaned. "Bloody Kids...hellfire and damnation" He grouched under his breath. "Don't worry about it man..." said Casey, bringing out an old fashioned notebook and pen. "I see I have two alleged terrorists for the price of one!" "Watch your language! [Damn spin doctor!]" said Marie, cursing in French. "Calm down, I'm on your side, honey. Fight the power, right? I've dug around looking at Neutron Industries. They aren't the nicest guys. But on the other hand, you did just destabilise half the nuclear reactors in the country..." replied Casey, trying to be reasonable. "What's your side of the story?"
  16. "I say yes!" GM a little later... Lantern Hill... St. Stephen's Church Revd Adam South was stout figure of venerable years, now retired (his position being taken over by Revd Madeline Dickenson). Despite leather skin and balding grey hear, despite bent spine and walking stick, he was still a bright man mentally. His praises were not sung like Madeline, he could be gruff and undiplomatic. Adam South was a more political man, left wing, anti-government, anti-capitalism, and most importantly, anti-corruption. "Give 'em hell" he whispered to Casey, before shuffling off to prayer in the old and beautiful church. It was nearly deserted this late in the evening, on a weekday, but still a few worshippers milled around, looking for solace and resolution. Casey was not really religious, but she did like churches. She was a young woman, who had a beautiful face and a rotund body. Her hair was shocking pink, and her glasses tinted bronze. Her smile was a killer, but her eyes had a staring quality that could put people out of ease. She was, thus, a good interviewer. She was patient too, sitting quietly waiting for Bonfire...
  17. "Whats that?" said Marie, peering over his soldier suspiciously. "A journalist?" she sniffed. "Don't trust em, the jack-asses! but, maybe we can use them" she said, more slyly, biting her thumbs as she mulled it over. "We can tell our story to her. Maybe leak this..." she said, holding a data stick with all the incriminating evidence she had on Neutron Industries. Including pictures of giant mutant rats. Snaffles, their new pet rat, with five legs, a glowing left eye, and the size of three normal rats, nibbled on his cheese contentedly. He was almost friendly. Bonfire had gone through the data. It was incomplete. Suggestive, but not definitive. Then again, it would take a lot of time and people skilled in law and business to really dissect it.
  18. A bit of Marie, then cut, but give me direction on the matter!
  19. GM April 20th Freedom City Sewers... The Secret hideout of the mysterious "Marie" Over the least 24 hours, Freedom City had had brown outs. The Nuclear reactors on the east coast had all reported glitches and power failures, and many were operating on reduced output, or even shut down whilst maintenance tried to work out what the hell had gone on. It was not enough for Marie. "that Uranium-7 pulse should have knocked them all out!" she spat, her eyes glowing a furious green. The hideout was not too shabby, with running water and power, but it was cramped. Modesty was impossible. The computer was piecemeal but functional, and Bonfire had access to all his electronic resources. Including an interested journalist, Casey Cutter, an underground, streetwise, anti-corruption investigative journalist with several limbs, if not her entire being, in the criminal underworld. Casey worked for The peoples eye, a left-leaning TV investigative documentary programme. EMAIL: Casey.Cutter@Thepeopleseye.com >>You got yourself in hot water!!! Video camera shots, not looking good. Everyone talking about terrorism. Bet there is another side, huh? How about an interview? Somewhere remote. Got a friend at Lantern Hill, graveyard. Should be safe there. Man of the cloth. Meet up and let me tell your story?
  20. "Caves? It's a good shot" answered Oskar, stroking his chin that was grizzled with white and blonde stubble. "Could be tricky in them, my tall friend. I hope you haven't lost your agility!" he commented, both of them knowing this was not true. "But seriously, could get cramped in their for you..." The Lor flying ahead would be redundant if caves were the answer. Curiously, he felt relieved. He doubted they would be of much help anyway, somehow, and he was not entirely sure he fully trusted them. Perhaps that was untrue, or unfair; he did trust them after a fashion, but they to be seeing this hunt, this beast, through a different lens than him. But of course, he was the hunter and they the hunted when it came to this beast. "Lets go take a look at those caves then..." he said, pressing on through the forest.

(If feeling brave / awesome you could add feedback to the summon power!) Possible Background: veberable Archeologist was exloring the tomb of an ancient Lovecraftian Sorcerer. HORROR! a swarm of jet black horrible beetles scurried into his chest! Fortunately, our beloved professor was an amateur insectologist, and knew how to deal with them. Subdue them...dominate them! Now, with this swarm embedded in his chest (like a black heart on his skin), he can either send them out as spied to do his bidding, or use them to transform into a beetle-human hybrid! Possible Complications: 1: All praise (Diety for beyond). Beetlehearts enhanced strength and dexterity (which are amazing for his venerable years) recquire daily sacrifices of insects to the uncaring but powerful diety (of choice) 2: Children in trouble: Juvenille delinquents he never had the time for, being obsessed with his work. 3: Twitch. Beetleheart has developed tremorsense, but it makes him extremely jumpy and gives him a tic in his eye if there is any vibration-actvity going on. 4: Shady relationship: His domination over the beetles in his chest might be difficult or conditional. 5: Sheer Heart Attack! Having beetles burrowing in your chest might cause lung or heart medical problems....
  22. GM "One way or another" replied Marie with a enigmatic but brutal smile. It was without mirth. "Nuclear power is too dangerous. It should be dis-invented, or if not, destroyed. This blue world of ours, this fragile flesh, it is to precious to risk. It is all very well caped heroes to fly around catching crooks, but the real threat is from ourselves. One mistake, and thousands die, or millions. Or even, all of us" she said, grimly. "It will finish of me. And I won't die without justice...." ~ Fin ~

It lasts 10 minutes and requires petrol or fuel of some type (Petrolhead carries a flask of fuel good for one shot) Suugested Background: Petrolhead was a normal mechanic and part time racer who ended up the wrong end of a crash. Her lungs damaged by smoke would always hurt and fail, but her stomach was filled with noxious fumes from the experimental petroleum used.... And now, by drinking petrol or fuel, Petrolhead can boost her speed to amazing levels! Possible Complications: 1: Bad Breath: Even at the best of times, Petrolheads breath smells of ash and fumes. 2: Burnout: Petrolhead burns a lot of calories and needs to eat a lot. She has an emaciated appearance. 3: Addict: COnsuming petrol and boosting is addictive, giving a mild euphoria. This could get out of hand, eventually fatiguing her, consuming her, or depriving her of sleep. 4: Cough: Smoke inhalation damage has made Petrolheads lungs weak. Extended exertion or suffocation will severly fatigue her. 5: PTSD: Whilst a skilled driver, witnessing car crashes might make her freeze still, reliving her own serious crash.
