GM The might fists of Jason Stack gathered up five...six...seven tentacles into bunches, and wrestled the fitting body to the floor. Ms Marigold was frothing green sputum as she shuddered. He could feel an itchy burning on his palms...the green tendrils were poisonous on top of everything else! The three remaining tendrils (was it three? they whipped so furiously it was hard to count...) thrashed around aimlessly, until they paused for a moment, flung back, and then struck Jason like whips of iron. By the fates they were strong! No thicker than a mans wrist, but with a very very real strength!

Thats a cool grapple roll, but technically you need a "to hit" roll first. Although taking 10 would hit! (Just to note worthwhile posting you are taking 10 or making the to hit roll) So touching the tentacles is a bad idea, but not too bad - it leaves welts and is poisonous: Effectively a Drain 2 (CON) aura with the poison extra. So a relatively straight forward Fort 12 Save (although it mught still leave itchy marks on your palms) The fungus is pretty strong, STR 26, but only a melee attack bonus of +2. Elongation 2 adds a +2 bonus (10' long tendrils!) Whilst it could use all its tendrils to fight off, its stoooopid. Which means its grapple bonus is but +12: Grapple vs JS: 1d20+12 20 enough to immobilise it (flat footed, cant move), but not quite pinned and helpless. Must have missed a few tendrils! For its move, it will mindlessly whip some more tendrils at you: Tendrils vs JS: 1d20+2 22 oh dear! some awful luck, a critical! That means another Drain 2 CON effect from the aura (DC 12 Fort as above). More seriously, its a critical strike, which means a DC 28 Toughness save.

Ok so we will have one round with just JS and the fungus, I presume Ulysses spends that round bursting in dramatically and heroically! That said, could do with an init roll for Ulysses. CAel, JS is up! Also, the fungus is just a minion (although a relatively powerful minion).

GM As Ulysses bursts into the Police Station... What scene meets his eyes? It was a quiet night, relatively speaking. A drunk hobo mumbled to himself in one cell. A emo goth girl paced up in down in another, arrested for disturbing the peace and gravedigging, a foolish teenage prank with the occult. "What the bloody hell is going on?" asked Officer Grime responded to Ulysses bursting into the station from one door, and Officer Groats screamed, pulling his gun in a fumbling terror as he witnessed, through the window of the interview room, the horror of the Green Fungus sprouting from a fitting body. Fortunately, or unfortunately, Ulysses and Officer Grime could not see into the interview room, but it was pretty clear from Groats' screams that something awful was happening. Officer Grime decided to pull out and cock his shotgun...

Will vs Wizard: 1d20+14 31 Im gonna have to start burning some HP to end this!

"Darkness? You think that ever stopped me?" she laughed, howling flames and smoke. "I can see you like it as a glorious midsummers day, wizard! But please do keep talking...I like the sound of this Risen Son...a man for me to meet...although what he had to do with a reclusive Rock Star? Thats for me to not find out because you will be telling me!" she demanded. This time, it was not flame that she threw, but the blackest, dirtiest smoke from the oiliest, greasiest forge. Soot and charcoal. A ball of horror, a million cigarrettes. The darkness did not bother her, her flaming eyes could see through it with ease...

Fortunately, counters obscure visual means that is no problem! This probably wont work, but lets try throwing some smoke at him, using the suffocate power! Suffocate Attack: 1d20+11 21 hopefully thats a hit (it would be close!) and if he is not immune to it, Fort DC 21 Save.

Cool I have editted the Rats post. I am happy with a scene cut to wherever the adress is!

So we are on! Unsuprisingly, Jason Stack gets somewhat surprised by the explosion of tentacles (and spores and green fluid). Feel free to narrate liquid getting in your eyes, suit, whatever (As gloopy as you like). More concerningly, however, it is a Nauseate 5 Area Affect which means a DC 15 Reflex Save (at a -5 penalty due to the small room and surpise, as I mean), then, a DC 15 Fort Save vs Nauseate (or DC 12 if you make the Reflex Save). Of course, any further green explosions, you wont be caught out! Then its initiative time, although it is rather academic as I am giving the green fungus an initiative of zero! (its slow, but it has many many tentacles!) A difficult situation here, as you also have a fitting civvie, Mis Marigold who is the root cause (pardon the pun) of the tentacles, so I am awarding both heroes an HP for that problem. Ulysses - 2 HP Jason S - 2 HP

GM Meanwhile... Ulysses awoke. The air had that kind of chilly heat, the smell of oil and grinding metal. The Spirit of Industry, blind and insistent, was around him. Wrong! Wrong! Right the Wrong! All Metal and power and machine and city will fall if it is not stopped!!! Stop the Green parasite!! It will infect everything!!! Roared the spirit of industry in his head, enigmatic, brief, direct, and forceful, just as she was. And then a sense of speed, of thundering wheels and steel on steel. Of air and land whistling past him. And in a jolt, he was outside Freedom City Lantern Hill Police Station, of old brick and loose mortar. And just in time to catch Officer Groats scream.

GM Officer Groat snorted his coffee up his nose as Jason Stack Reeled off his demands. "What? Who? Where?" he babbled before sneezing out his coffee, a few nasal drips landing on Jason's suit. "Err..yes...sorry...right on it..." he croaked, red face, and scuttled off. If scuttling was an Olympic sport, surely Officer Groat would have one the two dozen yard Scuttling Gold. As Jason turned back to Miss Marigold, he could see that the green had covered her veins everywhere, pulsing. Her eyes shone like beamlights. "Its...its about dumping...ack...illegal and...dangerous...ack...biowaste...in...Latern...Hil..." she whispered hugging herself desperately. But her hugs were no good. She exploded. That is, two dozen green tendrils errupted from her body, which went into a all out spasm, limbs flinging everywhere, and then started to shake uncontrollably. Miss Marigolds body did nothing but loll and shake, but the green tentacles that had sprouted from her whipped and slashed all around the interview room in an uncontrollable frenzy!

GM Sakurakos parents where in a similar emotional state. There was a pause, a deep silence, as the shock gave way to a clash of emotions. Her father turned away, angry, towards the ocean, angry at himself and angry, it seemed, at the universe. His fist slammed down onto the yacht. "Damn it all! The scars never stop hurting!" he swore at the horizon. Her mother slammed her tears shut, wiping them away with a steel hand. "You must protect yourself then. This is not the end. Just something to endure and overcome" she said, not quite looking at Sakurako when she said it. As she spoke, one of Doctor Sparks Mircobots zipped out of the sewer gutter and sped its way towards the yacht, flying a few feet of the sea, silent and sleek...

So dont know if any rolls are needed as its just fluff to save a few plot seconds, finding and hacking the phone to find the address. Taking 10 for a 25 computers result if needed.

"He'll live..." said the Rat, straightening up. "Someone did a number on him though, wanted him to hurt. Perhaps speak, perhaps just hurt. Have to hand it to him, he took a beating without passing out" that much splintered bone could send a man asleep. "But we got a lead anyway. Don't know what the lead is to but we can figure that out when we get there. Sounds like the clocks ticking, Miss" she said to the revenant. SLAVE get that phone up! we need that address, it must be in it somewhere! she barked at her head computer, heading upstairs and scanning for that very phone with her x-ray vision. Superior soviet technology activating! Scanning! Penetrating! And so SLAVE did, quickly pulling out the address for Revenant and the Rat. An Address they would rush to as soon as possible!

GM "Hey you speak Asian, thats cool, huh! Do you know karate?" said the dude, making a few fake and inappropriate karate chops in the air and trying to be charming and sophisticated, relying on a smile and a wink to vault him over social catastrophe. He made sure the two heroines could see his flexed bicep when he did a few air chops. It was, to be fair, an impressive bicep. but still. Out of the corner of her eye, Terrifica caught sight of a lone figure. The right build, the right size. Walking just so ever so slightly stiffly, dressed badly, in a track suit and hooded sweater, with sunglasses on. He was making sure he did not go near anybody else, and sidled off into the poetry section of the library, a section not most popular, and almost empty...

"Gragh! Enough with the suffering! I have had a belly full of it!" roared Pitch, sprouting fire and brimstone and speaking a terrible pun in so saying. She drew back her hand to throw another ball of fire. "I never wanted this, I never asked for it! It was what life dished up for me, and I'm gonna make the most of it! Some sorcerer summoned you up to rip me apart, is that it? I don't suppose you mind telling me exactly who that was, so I can stuff my fist down his mouth?" she demanded. And then, with her other hand, whipped up the Cantos cane, and splayed it sideways, a torrent of machine gun bullets, black and smoking, blasting through the air at the smoke and cape.

JS can spot that the woman has green veins in her arms, slowly crawling up and down (expanding)./ Alos: A little handy note, it helps to put a link to your PC in your signature

GM "Evening ah..Mister Stack...Sheesh you are a big ba.." started officer Groat as he opened the door to the huge lawyer. He was interrupted by officer Grime, who cut short his expletive. "Mind yourself in there, sir - she is a bit of wild one - we had to tazer her...twice..." he said, grimly. Miss Marigold was in handcuffs, wild and bedgraggled. Dark skin, although not fully black, unlike her hair which was coal and silk. She was a little short, a little sleight, but had a kind of wiry determination to her. On another day she would have been fairly attractive in a wild, hippy way. This day she looked like she had been dragged through a hedge backwards. A mess, a bruised and cut mess, and a smelly one at that. And yes, her eyes did glow green. Pulsing green. "Get away from me! I have been infected! infected!" she screamed and Jason. "They are dumping all sorts of chemicals in Lantern Hill! Illegal! Poison! Toxin! Look at me! Look at me!" she shouted, her voice raw from exertion. Her movements were jerky, wild, and her wrists raw from trying to escape from the handcuffs. It looked like she belonged in a straight jacket, and one would pity the straight jacket that she wore. "Get me out! Get me out! Stop it! Stop it! Argh! I can feel it! I'm burnniiiing uuuupppp!" she shouted even louder than before.

Not yet, but feel free to!

1D20+11 => 30 the luck is very much with her. So lets try a bluff at -5, as a move action: 1D20+7 => 24 also rather good. And an unshifted stream of metal autofire: 1D20+11 => 26 wow pretty good rolls all around. If that hits, providing he isnt something like an evil insubstantial, its a DC 26 Tough Save plus any autofire bonus.

Pitch caught her breath. In this regard, he was right. She felt the disc, barely. Through her rage, it felt like a dull thing of no consequence. "No use wasting my damn breath on you, as you seem to hear well enough, you pompous ass!" she said, through gritted teeth. The voice may have been softer in volume, but not in manner. Her blood was up, and that was a furious thing to witness. She brought her hand up throwing a bolt of red purple fire into the skies, up, up, into the man of cape and smoke. The flames wreathed around him. "You talk in riddles, dont ya? What do you want, buster? to feel like some self righteous know it all?"

Ok darn it, lets try and set him on (hell)fire: Non shifted attack: 1D20+11 => 30 bah, not quite a critical. Its a DC 26 Toughness save though, and a continuous duration power, so she can keep him alight. Its non lethal damage though (handwaved by hellfire stuff).
