GM Whilst at the other side of the Library... "<What is this American !$%£>" mumbled the first Drunk in Danish, full of contempt at the sight of the twenty dollar bill. The recipient was not, however, so discriminating. "Yes...I saw them...big strong men...like from the sagas, yes? Even you must have heard of the sagas...like Erik the Red? They were just bones and ghosts, with axes and shields and spears..." he said, almost wistfully. "I was down in Narsarsuaq, in the south, having a little drinking..." he said, fighting to stay awake. The man looked like he had been awake too long, and drunk even longer. "Might be drunk, but I saw what I saw!" he protested.

GM "Arnarsaq. Like the missionary. Everybody calls me Arna, though. And if you buy me a coffee, rich, dark, and handsome, then you can too!" she smiled. "I never got coffee from a Knight before. I can't really turn down the offer, can I? You may have to show me your face properly though, without that helmet!" she said, tapping his visor. "As for a token, well, I think this is traditional!" she said again, still smiling. She brought her finger down, bringing the visor over the Black Knights face, and gave it a kiss, leaving a slight lipstick stain. "Let me know what you find, seriously. It sounds exciting!" she finished. "Hmph. Ill be dating Mr. Spooky Next" whispered Tanya under her breath, although she was pleased enough with Arna's help.

GM "Little man, you are fast...but I do not fall. I slip through the waters of the Holy Nile, unseen, and then a pounce!" King Croc seemed to almost ignore Synapse and Zaki, as if a woman and an old man could not possibly be a threat. Something in his speech made him seem old, decades old. But he was not slow. Lunging forward, he grabbed Foreshadow by the arms and lifted him out of the water as if he was holding a rag doll. "You are no scrawny thing! There is meat on you!" he smiled, a ferocious smile of teeth and tongue, as he eyeballed Foreshadow with those dead black eyes.

Meaning Foreshadow is Bound And synpase is up!
-
Ooops mebad! In which case, the Croc King will try to grapple Foreshadow: 1d20+10=28 which hits, even with defensive attack. 1d20+24=36 for opposed grapple roll.

The flames sucked away, as Pitch passed her gaze over the embers and fires. It required more...balance...than she was used too. But they diminished all the same. The last sprite of fire jumped to her finger, and was quenched as she closed her hand over it. Satisfied, she strode out of the building, cane in hand. She might move slowly, but with smoke and fire and leather surrounding her, she made an impressive exit (or entrance). "You are looking as hot as ever, Wayward" smiled Pitch at the rock star, with her mouth glowing behind her teeth thanks to Tazel bubbling away inside her. "This is a rough joint, but I never seen it burn up like this. What gives?" she asked all and sundry. "

Next round, Ex! For now, Synapse is up! (and has a notice roll!) (The drop elbow is awesome, however!) EDIT: As you are surging (for a fatigue), you can get another attack in: An Elbow Drop! As its prone you get a +4 to your attack roll. In addition, I will say the weight of the drop gives you another +2 Damage bonus for being flat out awesome.

1d20+14=20 It tumbles to the ground! So a thirty foot drop is a damage 3 effect, I am adding 5 to that due to the fact that boulders are flying and its a bad surface to land on: a damage 8 Effect (DC 23 Toughness) 1d20+15=27 which it makes, although it is still prone! Round 2: 12 - Synpase - 3 HP - Unharmed 12 - Annie - Unharmed 9 - GSPR (Giant Steam Powered Robot) - Unharmed - Prone 2 - Ulysses - 1 HP - Unharmed - On cliff. To note: Ulysses toughness would allow him to jump off the cliff and suffer no damage (due to impervious) Synpase gets a DC 20 Notice Roll

GM "Whoa! What is this? What are you doing!" screamed Annie in fear as she departed the side of the mountain. Disorientated would be the word. Although scared might also be added. Settling down on the ground, she pulled out her Rivet Gun and fired a spray of bolts upwards, but she was clearly shaken by the flight, her copper balls splattering across the mountain, but missing the robot. "How did you do that? With wires? Like the stage magicians?" she asked, green in her face. The Giant Robot shook all four of its legs, like it was awakening. Its power was immense, a match for Ulysses. Rock and rubble dislodged, tumbling to the ground, and a slab of mountain fell away from Ulysses grip, threatening to send him tumbling to the ground with the rest of the rock...

Yup. Technically it will need an attack roll (Its Defence, flat footed is +2 so not a big deal), then its opposed Strength vs the Robots Strength. (Still need IC post from Thev!)

Done! Post away! Annie is going to fire at the GPSR with her RIvet Gun: 1d20+10=15 Ironically missing. The GSPR will then climb-run to the ground (as it was designed to do) as its action. I am going to fluff a bit here, but say that its size, motion, and design, alongside the terrain, will effectively mean a trip attack on Ulysses: opposed roll is: 1d20+10=15, Ulysses can resist with STR or DEX, and add immobile ranks. Thev - if you could post that stunt, and is it using fatigue/extra effort or HP?

1d20+0=9 for the Robot 1d20+10=12 for Annie. Synapse wins the draw as she has higher DEX. Meaning Round 1: 12 - Synpase - 3 HP - Unharmed 12 - Annie - Unharmed 9 - GSPR (Giant Steam Powered Robot) - Unharmed 2 - Ulysses - 2 HP - Unharmed Notes: Being on the side of a cliff means you are flat footed. Its a 30' Drop to the bottom! Synapse is up!

Round 1: 32 - Foreshadow - 1 HP 21 - King Croc 11 - Synapse - 2 HP Notes: The water is a few feet high. Nothing that wont impede you, but just to note. We are in low light conditions, meaning that unless you have some appropriate supersense, partial concealment to all. Also, no flat footing this round (as its pretty hard not be aware that a fight was coming!) Foreshadow is up!

GM "Schmarrraroff...fugoff!" mumbled one drunk, trying to warm himself by the library radiator. His nose was too big, and too red. His breath smelled like boot polish. "Yeah.,..I saw...thing...in snow....said that give money to me and wish come true..." smiled another, holding his hand out expectantly to Phantasmo. "Rebruggerantmshmsh..." slurred the third. "Ischlaw vikings in schnow! Then I drink and go away..." he whispered, before falling asleep. Meanwhile... The librarian was young with pale blue eyes that would haunt a young man's heart. Her hair was dark, her skin was pale. She had a few traces, here and there, of an Inuit about her, but she looked like a norsewoman. She was neither thin nor plump, neither tall, nor short, but she had the most handsome of faces and the most piercing of eyes. And a warm smile for the Black Knight. Her English was good, but with an accent. "I don't see a Knight in Shining Armor every day" she said. "But I could hardly say no to one..." She ushered the Knight through the archives, with Tanya following (as she was not one for hanging around with drunkards). Tanya was a pretty girl, but without the striking appearance of the librarian. She was prickled with slight envy. "Here we are...yes...we have all sorts of stories of spirits and ghosts and elves and trolls. Inuit and Norse mythology. But, now you mention it, we have had a couple of quite credible stories recently...in Narsarsuaq, in the south. There are some old Viking Runsetones there. Everybody says they are haunted...but, here..." she showed the Black Knight and Tanya some newspaper clippings of ghost sightings, all over the last two weeks.

GM Annie went to work on the robot, opening it up to peak inside. Her rivet gun swiftly removed the metal plating in its chest, to reveal some highly elaborate clockwork apparatus. In their home dimension, such mechanics would be impossible, but in Earth Victoriana, steam and brass and copper had quite different engineering properties. Here, it worked. "This is the tricky part..." she mumbled, reaching in to the giant robot. ... Tick Tock Tick Tock Tiiiiiick.... ... Tock.... ... .... "Oh dear..." complained Annie, as the clock stopped, and the giant robot grumbled into life...

So lets have some initiative rolls! 1d20+3=21 for King Croc.
-
GM The Crocodile king submerged until only his eyes remained above the cold dark water, then, almost silently, he swam towards them. Zaki was loosing his nerve, backing away. Then, he rose, immediately infront of Foreshadow and Synapse. An imposing sight. Over eight feet tall, riddled with tooth and claw, his skin a black green armour of knotted hide. His muscles were huge, arms as thick as a man's chest. "You don't scare? Then you SHOULD!" he shouted, alive with rage. "I'll snap your spine and feat on your flesh! I tire of games, of hiding in this prison cave. I tire of being used! The game is up, and you! you have released me!"

Annie has a +18 Skill too, plus the Second Chance (Disable Device) Feat, so a total of +20 Bonus with Dee helping: 1d20+20=36 More than Ample! But...convenient excuse to have a robot fight and a HP for all! I am presuming that Ulysses had time to "Heal up" whilst trekking. Synapse Unharmed 3 HP Ulyssess Unuharmed 2 HP Could I have initiative rolls? Annie and Dee's disable device have given the Giant Robot the Weak Point flaw, meaning that any critical hit will completely bypass its toughness. In addition, if the Robot becomes helpless, any disable device attempt to further incapacitate it will be at a +5 Situational bonus. Also if you could post that gadeteering / disable action, Thev?

For reference.. Black Knight - 0 HP Phatasmo - 1 HP Post away, Exaccus. A result of 25 means the librarian is now helpful. This will be enough to get a fair bit of exposition, plus her aide in any future endevours.
-
Broadly speaking, Annie is going to try a Disarm skill on the robot. Dee can block her and do it herself (if she does not trust her), aid her, or let Annie aid Dee. Of course anything else you want to do, feel free!

GM Up the mountain, a short climb later... It did not take the three long to scale the thirty feet, and it was not a tricky climb, more of a scale up a slope which was littered with handholds and footholds. Tumbling down it, however, would not be much fun. The robot was impressive close up as down below. It was painted stone grey, but was steel and brass and copper, full of gears, springs, and the rumbling of steam. Tick tock tick tock... And it was ticking... "Best not delay...time is short..." huffed Annie, a little short on breath after the climb.

So, feel free to do whatever as always - But if you fancy poring over newspapers and computer searches of stuff, then a Knowledge (Current Events) DC 10 (untrained). Give yourself a -2 Penalty as you cant read Greenlandic or Danish (there is lots of stuff in English however). DC 15 or DC 20 will give a little more info. You may also do other searches on Greenlandic history (Knowledge History) or other stuff if you wish, or even flirt with the librarian to get her to help you. Whatever you fancy!

GM "I'll survive" grumped Tanya, climbing into the pick up truck as the man gave them the thumbs up. It was a tight squeeze for four of them. Eventually they agree Phantasmo could freeze outside, as the zombie would not die from exposure. The truck itself made a reasonable time, rumbling across the main road, with traffic passing them by. It was soon dark, and it would continue to be so for the next twenty hours. At this time of winter, sunlight was a rarity. Soon they drew up to Nuuk, the capital of only 17,000 people. It was colorful in its own way - painted houses on a background of snow and ice everywhere. Greenland had an icy cold purity of landscape and nature that was quite a sight. "Well, next step...the library...!" said Tanya as they stepped out of the Pick up Truck. "Unless you guys want to get drunk or something. I seem to recall that is something of a national sport here" she recalled, referring to the sad state of alcoholism in the country. "But if we want to find out about spooky stuff and sightings, the newspapers the way to go..." she concluded, hugging her cloak to her and striding into the library of Nuuk...
