"Well I wasn't expecting that" said Pitch, on one knee, clutching her cane. The disorientation had been there, and she wasn't the steadiest of people anyway. "I was half expecting to end up in some fiery pentagram, some B-movie satanic thing. But then, demon's aren't like that, are they. More subtle. I guess a lawyers office is as good as any..." she commented, looking around. Of course, it might not be a lawyers office, but it did look pretty swanky. "Coo--eeee!" she called out, wishing she had a plugged in electric guitar. "Anybody home?"

ON this world, it was hard to know exactly how far "The other side of the continent" actually was. "How are we getting there? By sea? By land? Or ware we flying?" the Xeno was perfectly capably of landing in rugged terrain, even jungle. Went with being a damn safari ship. It was big though, big enough to scare off animals or beasts. Perhaps this beast was not an easily spooked creature, but still... "I wouldn't mind taking in some of the country side and scenery, but I dont want to spend days getting there. How do you get around this planet?" he asked.

the Mess was taking a few steps back with every swing Machine Fist through at him. The guy was strong, strong enough to take his head off, he reckoned. But not fast. Not fast enough, anyway. Another step back, as Machine fists blade swiped inches from him. "Hey, ya bozo, careful with that, ya might hurt somebody!" he grunted. That kind of weapon was, in his book, not a fair fight. If he wasn't keeping that mystic asleep, he might have redirected his blood powers to Machine fist...see how fast the guy would be with his red blood cells crawling to a stop. He ducked under a blow and came up with an uppercut, but too slow.

"Will you now, you bunch of crooks! If you are looking for trouble...." Starshot whipped up his rifle as it spoke, its green energy firing up. "You have come to the right place" he finished. His helmet had clicked into place over his face even as they left the junk shop. Whilst his gun was happy to zap, his paranoid mask was dribbling pleas to flee, or hand over what they had had. "Do you really think we are handing over that twenty million credit ball that the other guy has in his satchel?" shouted his hand, livid with thought of losing such an item, and blurting out his rage in sheer stupidity. "Thanks for that, fingers" grunted Starshot quietly to his unruly cybernetic hand. He trusted Ana was already priming herself for a messy streetfight.

Ok so end of month, felt an appropriate place to fin! Sorry I dropped the ball for Velocity, Thevshi. Heritage, if you do want to use the 100% military grade a-hole of the Duke again, let me know (or indeed if Thevshi you do!). TiffKorta made a few indications she would like an encounter at some point. I am in your hands!

GM Around about then, in Paris... The Duke sat in cafe, drinking an inexpensive thick coffee in one hand, and an inexpensive dark red wine in the other. "<Ah Paris, how you enchant me so!>" he said, tipping his rather extravagant and flamboyant hat to a pair of Parisian beauties who strolled past, clothed in style and elegance. "<Now then, now then...what a enjoyable vexation that was>" he continued in his native Flemish. "<One mansion down, a lot of research, and a magnificent cyborg body. Still, it was rather magnificent, the whole thing>" he mused to himself, scribbling notes on his newspaper. "<It is the age of miracles, no doubt of it...and of beautiful pretty butterflies. I believe I shall become...>" ... "<A collector...>" ~ Fin ~

"Sounds like a blast" replied Pitch. She could only imagine that if the bird - whatever it was - found it uncomfortable, then she would do. And perhaps more so. After all, the bird was an old hat at it. "You heard the wings, ladies and gents. Time for a step through time and space. And who knows what else" she said, clenching her teeth, gripping her cane... "Au Revior!" she called to the church. ...and stepping through, her nervous system on standby for some major complaints.

GM "I see the tales of your breathtaking arrogance are essentially correct" sighed Dr Ring at Terrifica. "I myself take no value in intelligence, it is nothing to boast of. A gift, a roll of the dice, that is all. It is but a tool" he said, pushing himself in his wheelchair. "And all your intelligence... it gives you no right to chastise a dying man" he snapped at Terrifica. "Help me, or do not. I have other means, other avenues. Go public with it, I also care not. The dying are not threatened, you see. All I care for now is to stop my creation doing untold harm. If possible, I would do this quietly, so that no government or agency impounds it or takes my ideas. If that is not possible, I will do it fully in sight, and we shall all pray the dice of chance fall kindly for civilization" He snapped on a projector, which illuminated a wall with the diagrams of a metal body, complete with head. "My creation. I called it only version 3. A simple, but functional artificial intelligence with the ability to download thought patterns and memories. However, it appeared to download too much, too quickly, and worse, indiscriminately. A process that, for lack of a better word, has driven it insane. And now, it has vanished!"

GM The admiral just laughed at Thaelia as he was hoisted from the ground by the Princess. "It..doesn't matter...what you do to me. On another day, I may have sided with you. I am a soldier, and sworn to defend my country. This machine in the hands of him...will spell the end of civilisation..." he gasped. "But you cannot stop the inevitable...you cannot kill what is already dead...do you even know of whom I speak?" he demanded. "The drowned man! at first, I thought he was just a myth, a ghost. But he is all too real. Whomever drowns, he commands. Do you know how many people have drowned over the centuries? over the millenia? and now...this machine can cause Tsunamis to swell his army still further. He pointed to the Maxi-glass view screen, and the powerful lights shining ahead. "Look!" Outside, marching, shambling, even crawling, a horde of decaying skeletal bodies, waterlogged zombies, an army of rotting flesh. And then, the walls of the Walker started to beat, as fists and spears and rocks smashed on the outer hull. "What say you now? There is no hope, not for Atlantis, not for America, not for the world"

GM Down they flew, with the atmosphere steadily getting thicker and more opaque. Winds started to buffet them. It must have been approaching a terran atmosphere pressure soon. Clouds of wonderful colours streaked and bloomed. Whatever else was to come, Grunt and Roulette were witnessing a magnificent sight, and possibly creating a new sport. Then, something floated past. And another. What were they? Clouds? No...the Gas Giant had natives. Giant megafauna, hundreds of feet across, floating gas backs with hundreds of tendrils behind it, crackling with electricity. Like titanic amoeba, or jellyflish, filled with some gas, or maybe kept aloft by static discharges, they wallowed, feeding on..what? Radiation? Storms? Who could tell. But these behemoths were strange and exotic by any measure. No photonic. But then, a stranger sight than the creatures they saw. An airborne habitat...also hundreds of feet wide, kept aloft by four enormous balloons of carbonite plastic and helium, a dome in the sky, crystal and steel and maxiglass, a hidden station...

"Well met, Lorn-14" said Starshot, wondering exactly what 14 stood for. A clone? "I am Starshot, and this is Seika, my...friend" he said. It was honest enough, but with a pang of regret about the past. "Sounds like there is one hell of a beast out there. A big, nasty beast" "A big nasty beast, ready to get fried! We are going to toast him!" "For once, my friend is telling the truth" said Starshot, sharing his rifle's enthusiasm, but..but not quite his certainty. "I'm looking forward to a good hunt. Lead on!"

GM And so, shortly, in the Pegasus... "What happened? Did I miss anything?" asked Lord Robert Harrow, eyes slammed open. "Shocking!" was his judgement on the subsequently explained events. "You know, what we saw down there...it may have the creations of a madman, but it was also of a genius. With decades on his hands. Some of his work...on physics, cybernetics, genetics....it was extraordinary. Self-centred, no doubt, but extraordinary all the same. And, i think, not all his. It was as if he had people make the jigsaw pieces, and he put them together. Nobody quite new what they were doing, they made the ingredients...but he made the dish" he said, with some admiration. "I can't help wondering exactly who or what he was. A man with a thousand bodies and one mind. I guess it was an interesting life for him. But, I wonder if he was just bored. Bored but determined to live despite it?" he pondered.

GM The machinegun fire had echoed through the dark halls yonder, a noise that could not have been ignored by any inside. It was dark, with the faintest glows of dim electric lights. A building that called to mind the drab, functional cold war offices that the pair of heroes had found in Russia. It was not hard to imagine that the concrete walls had been erected by those very same Russians. It was hard to see, but not completely dark. There were corridors and halls, all concrete, and drab. In the distance, there was the sound of water, and some ominous splashing...

Starshot did not like the comment on his ignorance. He did not like it because it was true. What exactly was the general...constructing? Look at that! So pretty! Can I touch it? Starshot clunked his hand against the wall. "Quiet, fingers. Touch it, I fear you will be burned" he explained. And we all may be burned anyway. But..hell...such is life.... "That's a lot of money for one little trinket" he commented. "I have a feeling it may attract a little attention" he suggested. Nodding to Ana, he indicated the door. "The sooner this is on the Xeno, the better". "And we best not get lost or pickpocketed on the way..."

Covering up the tattoos? That would be...dangerous... "Of course" she said, putting on a ripped jacket that did covered up her spine. That was of course dangerous. The tattoo might have damaged her nerves, but it also protected her. She felt, ironically, more naked with the jacket on than if she was standing in her birthday suit. "Never been to Japan before. Seeing the sights seems right on!" she said, almost surprised at her enthusiasm. She had been blackened by a slightly surly mood, and she felt inclined to loosen up.

GM "Nobody is talking about taking or saving innocent lives. At least not yet" answered Ms D, opening up the van. A short drive later... Doctor Ring's house had that kind of modest luxury. It was not extravagant, but it was big, spacious, and elegant. His door was opened by a tired looking nurse, who stifled a yawn. "Come in...he's still up" he said, forcing a smile, and leading the three women in. Doctor Ring was not a well man. He was in a wheelchair and had a haggard, weak look, thinning hair. The weight had flown off him, leaving a clearly ill man. "Two?" he asked, peering at the women. "...Terrifica...and....Miss Miracle...is it?" he asked, before tapping his nose "I try to keep abreast of things!" he chortled, before collapsing in a coughing fit. The tired nurse grabbed an inhaler mask and placed it on his ward for several seconds before Dr Ring recovered. "As you can see...I am not a well man" he said, with a bitter smile. "I was trying to find a way to preserve my mind, but instead...I created a modern Day Frankensteins Monster. A potentially, but not necessarily, dangerous artificial intelligence. I would not have my dying days marred by a horror to my reputation..." he explained.

GM Annie carefully considered Dee's words, a drawn out affair. "Well....I have no love for this world, or the world after" she answered. "If you can give me your word of honor you will take me to your world...then..." She did not like the words. They burnt her lips as they left. Her eyes gazed away, again furious with herself. "...then I will stop what is coming" she said, angry. "Although it hurts me so. I am selling out, a traitor to myself and my cause. But...dammit, your put to tasty a morsel on my plate. Now I taste the freedom you offer, I cannot spit it out. But tell me..would I be free there?"

1d20+5=7 and the second is KO. Could you make notice (listen) rolls, DC 10, and assume it is 50' away (i.e. a -5 penalty with regular hearing)
-
So, lets see what happens! First off a DC 20 Electrical Damage effect to everyone, including robert, in the house. As its light speed Im treating this like a Perception Area attack (no reflex ) 1d20+2=20 he is fine. Then, the houseth cometh tumbling down. This will be a Damage 12 Effect with Reflex Save/Evasion coming into play (DC 22 Reflex / 27 Toughness). Of course you might have tricks for this as you do at least get some forewarning! (e.g. supporting the beuilding via super strength, or going insubtantial, etc...)
-
GM The rumble progressed to the anticipated conclusion. Streams of blue lightning lit the entire mansion, crackling with static, coursing through every metal, and burning every wood. Fires burst, and every electrical appliance exploded with light and sound. But that was not the worst of it. As streaming pulse of electricity shattered every window, and ominous groans creaked through the entire house. "MAGNIFICO!!!!!" came the last words of the duke, delighted at his performance. And then, the house came a - tumbling down....

okey dokey...ill give it a bit to see if any other hot heads want to speak!
