GM Every missile was thrown at unbelievable speed. And yet, somehow, the Duke blurred as he moved. If anyone but Velocity had tried a stunt, the Dukes speed may have been enough to evade them. As it was, they landed in him, clanging against metal and burying into the flesh of his amalgamated cyborg body. "aaaargh!" he shouted in pain, as more sparks flew off him, and the whole room briefly lit up like a fire work display of electrical arcs. "I am sorry...for...your husband...I have no wish to kill...or hurt...." he grunted, unsteady, still jerking with blurred movements, uncoordinated. "Please, forgive me...it is just...my will to survive....so long...long years...to end them in the tragedy of pitiful slow dullness of mind and body...I cannot abide the horror of such a fate..."

GM The Van crashed through the perimeter fence like it was tissue paper. A testament more to the feeble rusted incompetence of the fence rather than the power of the beat up vehicle. Whilst dust kicked up, to catch the first rays of dawn, there was no other response. Just a quietness and coolness from the Nile. The only thing that caught Foreshadow and Synapses attention was... "Children!" said Zaki, alerting Synapse, who had not needed alerting. Three scruffy children were laughing and playing by the riverside, throwing stones and splashing each other. Other than that, there was just concrete and the big corroded iron door in front of it.

Looks fun. I make Knockback -8 (-6 from impervious protection, -2 from non impervious) Features seems to count Navigation 2 twice. With only one navigation I count 10 features, not 11. An Extended, Analytical, Radar would cost 5 PP (1 for base sense, 2 for accurate, 1 for Analytical, 1 for Extended) As a radar it comes with acute ranged and radius by default. Your Supersense I presume (and you should probably clarify this on sheer) is 4 PP: Infravision, Radio, And Extended and Analytical applied to base vision only (not infravision). Nano Pistol should be annotated as a 17 PP array with Power Feat Accurate 3. On a positive note, as you have two weapons, you can buy this much more cheaply with our house custom rules on multiple weapons. In other words, you can have the the second device as an Alt Device (1 PP) of the first. However, the first device requires an extra PP expenditure - the "Multiple Weapon" Feat. Take a look at our house rules on this, some PCs have this.- 4 replies

"Me Rat, who you?" answred the Rat, before answering Coiled Lightnings question. "Yes Me come to help" smiled the Rat, jumping from foot to foot excitedly. She was only two species away from shouting "oook!" "Me come to help?" she asked Grimalkin. Yes, you have come to help, you waste of DNA... "What is DNA?" asked the Rat to the room, scratching her head again. "Anyway, me come to help. Me can lift heavy stuff, and shout at people to make scary if you want. Me good at making scary!" "Raaaaagh!" she roared, beating her chest and momentarily livid with rage. It was, as she said, quite good at making scary. "You tell me where me go and what me do, and me do it!" she said, proudly.

GM The five men spent little time breaking in to the institute. They seemed to know the location of cameras, alarms, and locks, and had tools for every job. Either they were very good, very prepared, or very forewarned. Or maybe all three. Once inside the institute however, they seemed less sure of themselves. They had a list of apparent items. "Dimensional Lenser" "Quantum Paradox Inhibiter" "String Arc Defluxer" "Quark Reambulator" "What the hell are these things?" finished the last man. They had pictures, but nothing that seemed to match the physics department laboratory they rifled through. It was hardly easy, both the pictures and the laboratory were a mess of complicated wires and electronics that were a maze unless one properly knew ones way around high level theoretical physics.

The Rat walked in, dragging knuckles. Her deep set eyes were slightly divergent. "Hello. Me is Rat. Me come to...come to...." She reached up and scratched her head, turning it slowly to Grimalkin, giving a toothy smile. "What me come to do?" she asked, shyly. If a six foot six ape woman with arms as thick as most peoples chests could look shy. Unbelievable! Your brain appears to be smaller than ever! Please do not forget to breathe, you useless lump of meat! You shut up, nasty headthing. Me not stoopid... I refute that. I have seen more brains in a victoria sponge cake. "Me not stoopid" said the Rat aloud, to nobody in the room.

So starshot has Jack of All Trades and an INT of 12, no craft skills. As he has a VD Strike skill, is this enough to whittle down some sticks to sharp points? Not going for anything flash. If necessary ill burn at HP or something! If Craft skills Ill take 10 to build something basic like some stakes.
-
Non lethal? Starshot doubted very much that the lords of the hunt were interested in such niceties. He had no wish to kill. But he wasn't going to hold back either. Not if it meant his life, or, if it came to that, the lives of the two youths. The surly one seemed set on that notion however, and he didn't want further conflict. Instead, he looked away, neither confirming or denying that notion. If he had to kill, and he hoped he did not, then he would. Such was the realities of life, war, and hunting. "If it comes to sharp points, I can whittle something down" he explained, as a blade extended from his cybernetic hand, only two inches, but enough to shave off some wood. "Some pointy sticks can't hurt"
-
"Nice planet" It was a hunter's paradise, of course. Much as he deplored war, Starshot got a huge kick out of hunting. "Can't say I like examining the dead. I haven't got the stomach for it. But, prudence first. However grisly the picture, I think it is worth looking at them". He was hardly a forensic specialist, but he had seen plenty of scars and wounds from tooth and claw. Zaul's "improvements" had made him heal better, and he tended not to scar. But he had one or two blistering ones from the worst maulings. Nothing like the scar down the left side of his face from when Zaul had blown up his troops in the Swiss mountains. It itched with excitement, running down his chest too. The wounds predated Zauls work, and as such were his most prominent. Old now, faint, but present. He had come to make them a part of his identity. "So lead on, if you can" he asked Tal'a. "The question then is - do we escort your next crew, or try to find out what is exactly is down in the Jungle ourselves?"
-
Hmmm, I suggest posting your grapple as an IC, even if it is brief? For the Huntsmans action he will try to break free, using opposed grapple: 1d20+12=28 so you may want to give me an opposed roll vs that!

So EP, feel free to narrate Terrifica getting wind of this somehow, perhaps via Internet chatter or connections with the university, or simply working late. Heri, Miracle Girl is free to make an entrance however you like - I suspect via just chance luck or narrative fortune - but anything to get going!
-
Starshot paid close attention to the presentation. "Fascinating" he said, without untruth. He was an amateur scientist, who liked growing exotic flowers and flora. Whilst his expertise in the matter was limited, he still enjoyed the field. What they had was a unique species, and a beautiful one too. "Quite a challenging plant. But...what is out there in the jungle that could attack a harvesting team? what happened?" he asked, curious. Kazzach looked like it spared no expense on the outpost, he would imagine they would treat employee safety as well. "And how do you know they were attacked, rather than just lost?"

Feel free to narrate some enterance into arresting the men!

GM Photonic flickered for a moment, the invisibility shield fading, revealing the alien in all his uncloaked glory. Pin pricks of light on a hairless, bronzed and mottled humanoid, slender, with a wiry strength and deep set red eyes. A few key areas, glowing with light, indicated he had been operated on. A cyborg. "Fraud?" he said in a slick velvet mouth quite unlike the ugly alien features he presented with. "I..am a...no...no...." he answered, unsure of himself. "I..haven't got time for you..." he finished, trying to muster himself together. Then, he vanished...fizzled...gone... The engines groaned, sparks flying. And then, a huge gust of wind hit the three bounty hunters. Decompression! Roulette caught sight of Photonic, who had opened the airlock in the engine rooms. A functional, simple hatch for ships to click together. Outside, the outer layer of atmosphere from the gas giant they orbitted. And Photonic was holding something. A case. An ominous metal case. And then...he was sucked out of the ship, and tumbled down, down...to the deeper gas of the planet.
-
So, as you spent that HP and I am sort of escaping combat I will fudge the rules slightly. Photonic is rattled, and you get +2 to future appropriate rolls the next time you see him (as a circumstance bonus). as the memory will be with him.

GM 1st September Evening time, with a red sun in the horizon... The Hanover Institute of Technology was well guarded at night, but it was hardly a military complex. Five men, in balaclavas and with all the usual tools of the trade, were breaking in. Wire cutters first, then lock picks. They looked professional, or at least a cut above a tweaking crack addict desperate for some quick bucks. However, they were notable for having good equipment. Excellent equipment, in fact. Power wire cutters, electronically controlled lock picks, remote controlled grenades, and perhaps most surprising, what looked like sci-fi blaster pistols for defence. The Van they had come in was large, black, and silent, looking equally cutting edge, with filed off number plates and a number of antenna and dishes, subtle but present, on the roof...

GM A little while later... With the destination plucked clean from the Priests mind, reaching the cave was not problematic. The trip to the edge of town was filled with beggars, music, peddlers, colours and smells that assaulted the senses in a most wonderful chaos. India, in any dimension, was not a dull destination. The cave had scratching and etchings around it, subtle chalk symbols dedicated to Kali. But unlike the opium den, this was not so decorated with religious symbolism. It was if religious devotion here was half hearted, a secondary thing. The cave was located in the slums of the town, just as they gave way to a tiny mountain, or large hill, depending on what you fancied terming it. It looked blasted out rather than natural. The mood of the slums was less pleasant. Beggars begged with more ferocity, and street vendors pressed their goods into Synapse and Ulysses hands more urgently. The people of the slums did not look well disposed to two foreigners, and well dressed ones...

GM "You are hungry? Yes?...no need to answer...I can smell it...I can smell it, so delicious, a beautiful gnawing agony in your bones...." The rat stayed stone still, its pure black eyes fixed on Bloodline. It barely seemed to move its mouth, but the words came out all the same. "I am hungry too. I was not always...like this...but this is the form I have taken, and I am chained to that ridiculous boy you met. My hunger is for different...things...I want to eat demons...I wish to consume the essence of them, I want to consume any hellfire, any sulphur, any power, I can get my tiny teeth into" Now, it seems to grin. "And I need help to do it. Your help. That is not so bad, is it? Feeding one demon to another? And in return, these dark tunnels can be yours. I, Vermin, will aide you. For all his weakness, the boy you know as Filth has power over the rats beneath the city. Great power. His eyes are everywhere, and so are his little pets..."
