  1. The Rat took a step back, and stopped. "I believe you. I believe you are a bad man that kills worse men" she said, level headed. "I used to do the same, for more years than you. I have blood on my hands. Most days, I tell myself it was because I had my orders. Orders that had to be obeyed. And most days, I know that's the truth. Its just some days I have a crawling down my skin and into my gut. And those days I don't like so much" she said, as much to herself as to the Man. "So these days, I try to stop the killing part. And that means you to. Killing happens, but only what it absolutely needs to happen. So I guess I have to stop you, unless you tell me just why you have to kill a bad man" "And I won't like stopping you. Because you are polite..."
  2. "Could be, could be" said Starshot with a slight smile to Deep Freezes question. "I'm sure we have had worse, though. Generals started down the ranks. This one does not look too soft. Truthfully, I think the problems we get on this one is...authority...." he mused. The tension lines had be drawn. It only remained to see how truly tight and sharp they were. "I may be Captain, but he is a General" he explained. "As for fearless. I have plenty of fear. Keeps you alive. Keeps you on edge. Just make sure you don't fall off the edge and get eatem up by fear..." he said. But he still got nightmares of world war II every so often. Frowning at the thought, he flicked the Xeno into hyperdrive, the star's blurring and the ship sinking into faster than light speed.
  3. "Hey waddahell is this?" shouted the Mess, swinging his arms around uselessly. "I cant see a damn thing! Somebody turn on the lights!" he complained. He could not see, but he sure felt the claws rake him. Scratches, really, but enough to draw blood. His blood. Supercharged, superhuman blood. He had plenty of it to bleed, too - and his body could replenish his blood supplies much faster than normal. But still, it was his blood in the darkness. Like crack cocaine to a dying addict. He swung his fists reflexively and uselessly through the darkness at the unseen vampire who scratched him. "I'm gonna punch yer lights out...you...whatever you are's...!"
  4. "Nocturis" He remembered the world. Near the Khanate border, which was dangerous enough. It was an unusual world, a smallish world whose gravity would be uncomfortably light if was not for its peculiarity - an incredibly slow rotation. Nocturis' nights lasted long dark weeks, as its days were an endless ocean of light. "I hope the quarters are to your liking, General, and Balus..." he said, showing them each a cabin. It wasn't absolutely top class, but even Kings would not complain. A certain luxury and extravagant space to them all. Equal in luxury. But he acknowledged he kept the captains quarters to himself and that they where perhaps slightly more equal than the others. "I'll set a course now, General. Should be there in a few hours, if the engines keep up their good work, and Ana here is first class at making sure they do" he smiled. The Xeno was old, but had been upgraded. And sometimes, classic was still magnificent. With that, he went to the bridge, and set the Xeno skyward, ready to jump to hyperspace...
  5. "Jungle, Jungle, everywhere..." murmured Starshot. "Should be right up your street, Seika" he said to the tall alien. The archer was intimidating even to him, who knew her. Something about her size, primitive ways, and above all, deadly skill...Starshot was a tall man, and anyone taller than him made him feel a little stange. But then, it was a big universe out there, he reasoned, with big people in it. He landed the Xeno carefully, taking one final look at the readings. Should be easy enough. Heat never bothered him; between the Genetic alterations of Zaul and the cybernetics in him, he could regulate his body temperature perfectly. Good oxygen supply too. He slung on Mask, around his neck, powering up the AI and letting it form a helmet, glowing with green lights. "Already? Well, it pays to be careful out there!" said the paranoid helmet as it flashed up an HUD for Starshot. "Just till we know we aren't going to get eaten by eight legged poisonous lizards" he countered, slinging Trigger, his gun, over his shoulder. It was as much to himself and to Seika as anybody. And with that, he popped the docking hatch and the ramp, and walked outside into a new hot and green world...
  6. "Me?" asked the Hound. "I would think he did it!" he smiled, pointing straight at Yuri. "Question is, I would I know it? I don't know it right now. Maybe he did do it. My job is to find out if anybody else did it. Hey, you want to be sure, right? you don't want that feeling crawling up and down your spine at night for years...that feeling that maybe, just maybe, you got the wrong guy. Maybe you don't like Yuri. Well, his eyes are too close together, and he smiles funny. Must be him, right? But then...maybe the real murderer got away..." "So, thinking is one thing. That's where ya look. Knowing is another thing. Thats after you look" he explained. "So hows about you show us the scene of the crime?"
  7. So done! Sorry for losing track there If you could roll the grapple attack? His Defence is +8 (or 18). If you make that, roll grapple (your d20 + grapple bonus!)
  8. GM The Huntsman stepped a few paces, stern, as Skaere bit him. It was a hard bit, a cruel rending of flesh, unleashed from Skaere's full furious wolf form. He was bleeding, his linen beige hunting suit torn. "Not the first time I have been bitten" he said - to both himself and Skaere. But still, it stung. He grasped his arm reflexively, from shock, but his massive Elephant gun stayed in his grip. He turned as Skaere moved around, but turned slowly. Eyes alert, but body failing, his feet unbalanced and unsteady from her first blaze of tooth and claw. "I daresay it will wont be the last, either..." he said as Skaere pounced...
  9. Sounds like a grapple? The Bite would be an attack, the pounce a grapple. You could do both in one round with extra effort (fatiguing yourself or spending an HP), but otherwise one at a time ? (Or just say its a grapple, the bite is just some fluff distraction!)
  10. GM The azure sun hanged low, casting long shadows. Freedom City was not in the grip of winter, but it was in the cool embrace of autumn. It was a time of anticipation for the homeless, knowing that the warm hot summers were gone, and the bitter life of cold winds on wet clothes was to be endured again. The Mercy was a long vehicle, an atriculated truck, parked in the Fens, amidst the crumbling buildings and rusted trail lines. It looked like it hadn't moved in years - it was anybodies guess if it would still fire up. It served its purpose though. A couple of hobos where sharing some soup outside, together with the Nun who ran the joint, Sister White, was sharing the soup with them, a thick bean and lentil mix, asking how they were. She was a smallish lady, without being fully shrunken, maybe in her fifties, with lines and white hair and a face that looked both resilient and weathered at the same time, with deep green eyes.
  11. Well, I may just do the above as the Devolved Rat. no disguise needed, the Rat will look like an ape woman? (And I can roleplay INT 6!)
  12. It depends a bit on what the tackle involves! Probably the best bet is a grapple attack - possibly as part of a charge (see house rules for both!) The alternatives are a trip attack (pushing them over, usually a bit of a waste unless somebody is on a cliff face!) or a Rush attack - where you basically plow into an opponent a push them back (essentially forcing them to move). But I guess the former is what you want? if you have time and inclination, check out the house rules. It will need an attack roll (which might be at a bonus if you are charging, although charging reduces your defence).
  13. Initiative should be +2 I have corrected All looks good. At some point I would suggest clarifying the Create Object: UP implies that you can create "hard" objects like steel, wood, etc, or (as per Fire Control) objects that you can pass though but cause damage if you touch (flaming walls for instance). I wasn't quite clear which you wanted! On another note, Nullify Fire is expensive - you may want the UP power Fire control (allowing you to move and quench fires) which can also counter fires and is sustained duration perception range! But for now... APPROVED!
  14. 1d20+10=30 For reference, is "Swipe" a normal unarmed or bldugeoning damage? I am guessing not, but just to make sure. Mess is effectively blind, which makes him somewhat useless: But, hey ho, lets punch the darkness! 50% Miss chance, so 1d20=8 fail!
  15. cool by me
  16. Taxi service to and from the venue? Otherwise could be formally coming as the Red Rat. Your call, sir!
  17. "Hey hey man, take it easy. Man don't go to prison till he found guilty" said the Mess, stepping in, hands up. He may have been only a few inches over five feet, but that applied to his shoulders in both directions. He made a clear point of flexing his muscles whilst he did it. In a tank top and Jeans, scruffy as he looked...well, if you were looking for trouble, you had come to the right place... The Hound turned off the Car and flicked his cigar out of his hand. "We just coming looking for answers, mister, same as you I guess. you want to find out who killed Ito? Start talking, I am all ears" he said, confident the Hound could handle any fists thrown his way. "What makes you so certain your man hear did it?"
  18. Just in case it is needed, can I assume SS took 20 on life Sciences and Earth Sciences for the planet, researching its nature? May not be relevant..
  19. "Copy that. Heading in now..." answered Starshot, flipping off the comm-link. It was a straightforward run, as far as he could see. And he knew how to fly the Xeno, that was for sure. A coastal area. Maybe some maritime excursion. Or swamps, marshes. The jungle was thick. It wouldn't be easy terrain, that was certain. But hopefully nothing he could not handle. was probably good for the jungle. Her world was heterogenous, but jungles were her home, as far as he understood it. The tall alien woman was a hunter like no other. He was glad he had rescued her from servitude. And more glad that it was Zaul's work he was undoing. First time he would see her in true action, though. Reminiscing about the past, he set the Xeno onto a landing course, and started flicking through the readouts on the planets gravity, heat, atmosphere...
  20. Ill throw the Rat in if you need a street level hero (PL 8)
  21. 1d20+10=28 for toughness save
  22. Scene cut to the Mission?
  23. "We gonna shoot something? I cant wait to fire up!" Starshots gun was more keen than Starshot himself. Shooting things was fine, but no sense rushing to it. Skilled as he was, powerful as his gun was, always best to get prepared. Hunting was about more than point an aim. His companion on this trip was probably more dangerous than he was, and she just used an old fashioned bow. He clicked on the comm panel, establishing a link with the outpost. "This is the Starship Xeno, on approach path. Calling Kazzack outpost. Come in. We are en route. How are you doing down there?"

  25. Warning: ...Superior Soviet Systems unable to penetrate American Cellular Phone due to Superior Nature of Soviet Systems... Lied Slave. The Rat was more than aware that Slave gave unlikely excuses for failures of its systems, particularly when faced with Western targets. That was its programming. It had got more subtle over the years, but still... "Hey man, drop the tools and on your knees now, and we won't have to crack your bones to do it for you" she yelled at her target, before leaning round the wall and firing two shots at the man...pffft....pffft...through her silenced pistol. Fast, silent and most importantly, rubber rounds. Ducking round the wall again, hoping the man didn't have a grenade or something to lob back at her...
