OK Rat maintaining what I guess is partial cover. Move Action: A -5 level Initimidate; unlikely to work, but hey: 1d20-1=14 could be worse. will try this guy out for size with a rubber bullet, unshifted. 1d20+12=15 which I will presume misses!

The Red Rat took a few steps back, concerned. The man did indeed have a Rasputin like endurance. Analysis: Target is armed with military blade....processing...skilled in martial arts...approach with extreme caution... Yes, got that... "No need for violence" perhaps "And yeah, you could call me one of those super dupers. Except I don't wear a cape and ain't a goody two shoes dick" she said, hoping a slight injection of humour might defuse it slightly. "I'm not gonna get in your way, except maybe if you want to kill me or somebody else" she explained. "Thing is, I would like to know exactly what that job of yours is..." she asked, on the alert.

"Man, that looks bad" said the Mess, catching sight of the summoned shade. "I don't like that at all" He swung around to look at the mystic and the summoned horror, getting a fear in his spine. He smacked his fists together and shivered, throwing the chill off for another day. Fists and Machines I can handle. That guy looks somethin' else...he said to himself, his lips silently moving as his brain moved forward. "Looks like another job for Lefty and Righty!" he shouted, bouncing forward, each stride propelling him a few dozen feet, his legs pumped up to super human power. He curled his right fist into the man, worried that the mystic might have some shady power or spell. The guy looked like his jaw was more glass than Iron, unlike the machine man he had just struck. Still, looking like a glass jaw and being one...well...they could be to different things...

Lets ignore those Thugs for a moment, move action to the Keeper (Mess should be fast enough I guess, fully boosted), and smacking him in da head. Lets shift it slightly, +2 Accurate, -2 DC: For 1d20+12=26 well I sure hope that hits or we are in trouble! That would be a DC 23 Tough if it hits.

"Some mummy in here" she shouted at Equinox. It did have an eerie quality, even to her. This was getting deeply spiritual. Life, death. The big stuff. One didn't have to be a genius to see the symbolism of water, either. Flowing, life giving, clear water. If one got really fanciful, it was a womb. As water steam and smoke fumed, she felt the electric vibe on her skin. Even with Pitch in her veins, it made her hair stand on end, excited. Perhaps a more than physical sensation. It tingled with vitality. "Lets get this show on the road" she said, shaking herself out of contemplation. "I'm hauling this to the shore. If you got any magic spells to move it, that would save some trouble" she shouted at Equinox, before starting to paddle the thing to the shore.

Who was this kid? Starshot must a been a century older than him. If he wanted to go charging off into the jungle, he wasn't gonna stop the kid. People fell on their own. He wasn't gonna stop him. "Suit yourself, son. You just head off into the Jungle. Wherever you want to go. Which is...where, by the way?" he couldn't resist a smile at the youth. "Maybe they want us to build snares and pits. Maybe they want us to think that we shouldn't build snares and pits. No point second guessing what they want, Son" he explained. "But if you really think they want us to stay here and fight, then why did they tell us to run?" "You want to head off on your ownsome, go right ahead. But we best stick together. There is three of us, and we can easily vote it out" he finished. He didn't want a fight for leadership, especially with some Kids a fraction of his age. Maybe they knew what they were doing, maybe they had military training. But getting split up was the last thing they needed. Still, he was concerned about a kid stomping off without even discussing it. "As for survival. That's no problem, here. Plenty of food. Could do with finding a stream, if we can. But other ways to get water. Fruits, rain. I don't think survival is a problem, Son. At least, surviving the desert" he said, eyes around the Jungle, ears alert. "Still, if the vote is going to be shooting off down the Jungle to find another bit of Jungle jus' like this one, then I will come along to whatever strikes us. " "But if you really think they want us to stay here and fight, then why did they tell us to run?"

"I'm with you there, my friend" said Starshot, shaking Vonnie's hand. "Though truth be told, they got us. Lords of the Hunt clearly are not without resources, skill, and power. They had us all tied to a tree. Stopping them will not be straightforward. It may not even be possible, today..." "But I won't be anybodies prey either. They won't find me rolling over and playing dead" He was not sure Nevermore's idea to keep moving was sound. Get away from way they were was tactically advantageous. But were would they move to? They were in the middle of a Jungle. Brazil maybe. Even if they lucked out and found some signs of civilisation, it would hardly mean they were safe. possibly, just putting more people in danger. "Lets get out of this spot. But I don't think running will help us. We need to wait for whatever is hunting us, and turn the tables. That means an ambush..." He turned to Vonnie. "I don't think we need quantum star drives repaired. But if you can build snares, dead weights, pits...?"

GM "They injected me last time! I'm not falling for that again!" shouted Jake, hoping from foot to foot. "You!" he pointed to Lucy, "I trust! you look out for the Fens. 'Can trust you, not like those idiots Bloody Mess and the Hound!" "You!" he jabbed a thumb at Nicola "I don't know! you look kinda spooky to me!" he mumbled, eyeing her suspiciously. "But I'm telling the truth! the nun at the Mission, she sprouted horns, claws, and licked the blood up, grinning madded than ol' Mad Jake, and that's me by the way!" he explained. "You goanasker her!" he mumbled. "I ain't goin' back there again in no hurry. Even if they were servin' vodka matini's with olives!"

"This planet" said Starshot with dull voice. With a gesture, he brought bank fingers to his stump. "Earth is still as crazy as ever" came the tinny voice of his hand, with what could only be described as a sigh. "Its not as bad as the War" replied Starshot, with emphasis due to both experience and the desire to keep spirits up. With a few jumps and hurdles he let himself down to the ground. "I've hunted many planets, and many moons. I have seen hunters do this before. When the passion fades, its only sentients that inflame the senses. What was the saying? Ernest Hemingway..." "There is no hunting like the hunting of man, and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it, never care for anything else thereafter" he quoted. He paused, grim faced. "I can't say he was wrong either" he confessed. He was a bounty hunter on the side. But there was a line he would never cross. Not after the War. "So, are we the prey, or are we men who will fight back?" he asked, knowing the answer.

Ok the Marines are going to sweep the place. Is it split the party time? In any case, need some direction to go - so over to you guys!

GM Captain Sparrow looked at Temperance square in the eye. "I have my orders, ma'am. Find out what is down here, secure it. That's as far as it goes. This is a military operation, you guys, well, I know you are the kings and queens of the seas. For some of you, literally the kings and queens. Truth is, your country needs you on this. But still, its a military operation, and I have my orders" he said. He slung his rifle back and held up his hands to indicate he was standing down. But it was standing down from firing. Not breaking his orders, his word. When Temperance spoke up, he nodded. "A Pressure Shelter? Sure, every submersile has got one. A retreat. An escape pod, even, if you will. Probably something to secure" he agreed. "But without power, this place is a deathtrap. First we gotta see if we can't juice her up. Should be able to. It was walking. But somethings shorted" he indicated the flickering lights. "Time to spread out and sweep" he said. Whether that was a command or a request depended on the listeners viewpoint...

GM An hour later... It was dark. The sky was full of beautiful stars. The Van chugged along, every now and again burping with insolence, threatening to break down. It never did though. The Road was hardly well maintained, but in politically ravaged Egypt they had certainly seen worse. It wove and darted, but Zaki kept the map to hand, and there was no danger of getting lost. There was dust. There was sand. Even at night, it was hot. "We are near...maybe an hour at most" he explained, drinking water and looking at the map. Foreshadow could sense something in the darkness ahead... Riders...on camels...swords and guns...coming forward....wearing flowing robes....full of violence...

As its dark, I shall half the distance you spot the camels to 140'. That Said, Foreshadows senses can pick up an inkling first, which I shall post!

Starshot dangled from the tree, his hand blade stabbed into the wood, allowing him to swing free. He was too far up to help, and by the time he had swung around, the two men had defeated the cat. "Wrestling big cats. That takes some bravo" he called down with his slightly odd accent. "I was about to offer you a hand. Literally, my hand. But you beat me to it!" he smiled. At least those two knew how to look out for themselves. He had an inkling that was why they had been chosen. Surely, it must be they were chosen. He lifted himself up the tree, leaping and climbing, and in one case swinging, to get to the mysterious box. "Fingers, you always want to play with something shiny...go ahead!" he said to his hand, which promptly detatched from his stump. "This looks real shiny!" squarked the tinny voice of his hand, before it crawled down the branch to touch the box...

"Calm down, calm down..." said the Hound, always agitated at other peoples agitation. He flicked off the agencies fire alarm and lit a cigar. "Take it easy, man, we gotcha back, 'slong as you didn't do it" smiled the Mess, cracking open a can of Guiness. The Hound was already thumbing through the case in his head. "OK, OK, so you got into a bit of a fight. Prime suspect, and all that. Well, we gotta find the real killer. So, start with the murder itself. Where, when, how, and can we go to it?" he asked Yuri, throwing the car keys to the Mess, who caught them handily, jumped up, and started the engine of the beat up modified Chevvy they used.

GM SInghs eyes raised and he looked shocked. "Pardon me Madam, I must have had a most peculiar turn! mayhap a vexatious consumption of the brain! I do confess!" he said, patting down his sweaty forehead and removing his helmet. "I must be hallucinating...the heat...perhaps the opium vapours have addled my senses. I could swear I just heard you in my head, speaking to me by some kind of spiritual medium! Why, for one moment I could swear you said...." " <Well, it just so happens that I do have a few, including the ability to project my thoughts into men’s minds, as well as read them.> " said Synapse with a smirk. "By Vishnu! Is it true? You are a psychic medium! I have heard many tales, but never seen such wonder. If you truly possess such mystic powers, then by all means, exert them!" said Singh with newfound admiration.

"Ya don't stay down, do ya, punk!" gritted the Mess as he cracked his knuckles. "I gotta hand it to ya, most guys have the sense to stay down when they beat. Some guys, though, they got the guts or the stupid to keep on going. Guys like me, in fact!" There was some admiration for the Hangman, standing up when he should be lying down. But still, admiration wasn't going to stop him doing what he had to do. The Mess might have been a boxer, but he was also a street fighter. You didn't give a chance to a guy in a street fight. Bam Bam His fist's cracked into the Hangman, powered by muscles flowing with his supercharged blood...

GM The augmented Duke moved out of his monolith, sparks flying around his body. There was something in the way he moved...fast. Faster than he had a right to be. It was still a fraction of the speed of Velocity, a drop in the ocean. But that drop had been infused. The Duke was sped up, ever so slightly. "Stand Down? In this body! Hahaha!" laughed the Duke. Something about him seemed more arrogant, less playful, more fierce. "Why I do declare I shall elect to decline, my friend. I have never felt so alive! Your speed, it is intoxicating, addictive! I had only been looking for a why to prolong my life further, stopping the slow decline of my brain, but now I taste the furious pace and power you possess, even just this morsel, I find myself unable to decline myself gorging on it" he said directly to Velocity. "No more jumping, no more clones! This body was designed for power, and power it has, not like the pale imitations you have seen. And it is more powerful than ever!" he laughed as electricity flowed through his body and his eyes glowed. The lights in the room flickered and sparked, the room flipping in and out of darkness as the power fluctuated wildly. "So Dance, and make me sing, make me grow still further!" he said, shooting a bolt of lightning at Velocities feet...

Lets go for rage lasting 1 round to do the smash up. I'm just going to post with the Dukes reply then we can move to initiative: Round 1: 68 (Surprise Surprise) - Velocity - 4 HP 25 - Grimalkin - 1 HP (4 Rounds of Rage left) 19 - Cyberduke Robert is in Cardiac Arrest pending a thump to the chest (i.e. Medicine skill DC 10) He will need a Fort Save DC 0 (+2/Round) to avoid being the dead. Moving in the cellar, with all the cables, during combat, requires a DC 5 DEX check or you get electrocuted EDIT: not low light conditions, but flickering lights - which means partial concealment to everyone unless you have a non visual accurate sense or something like infravision.

"What are you, Rasputin?" answered the Rat, pulling him up. "Eat bullets for breakfast? What's your next trick, poison? stabbing?" she asked. The man felt heavy, but she was strong enough. "Not that I want to meet security or the cops. The names Rat. The Red Rat. Not because of my hair, but because I am an ex-Soviet Spy who very much wants to avoid people talking to me" she explained. If the Man recognised her, it would be impressive. "But you know, old habits die hard. I like knowing what's going on. Before I get shot myself. I find it hurts quite a bit" she grunted, hauling him away from the pool area. Away from any sniper fire. "Feel free to get that tounge wagging, if its not chewing lead" she said, pressing him.

Starshot let the General in first, to the main lounge. The Xeno wasn't the fastest ship in the galaxy, but it was fast. It wasn't the most luxurious, but it was luxury all the same. And its centrepiece, both figuratively and architecturally, was the hunter's lounge. With leather sofa's, multi media, a view of the stars in one direction, a view of the two capture tanks to port and starboard, and the five cabins, all equally grand (although perhaps the Captain had reserved the best for himself), it looked the part. Various stuffed beasts hung as trophies on the wall. "We have had some modifications, yes" he explained with a smile. May as well show off the best of the Xeno first. "Its a Yacht Vessel, so its decked out for comfort and style. Quantum drives, its fast too. But unarmed. The Xeno isn't a military ship. The only fighting it sees is the hunting we do outside of it" he explained. "What makes it special is our capture tanks.." he indicated the two large tanks they could view behind reinforced maxi-glass. "Capable of simulating any environment, we can capture live creatures here. Non-sentient of course. Although they have seen use when we collect on the odd bounty" he explained. He pressed a button to call down to the Engine rooms. "Freeze, get your frozen behind up here and meet our employers. And make sure you wipe of any engine oil!" he joked down the intercom.

"Comes with the Job" replied Starshot. "Crew and ship, all at your disposal. Only two crew, though. Myself and my greasemonkey, Deep Freeze" He paused a moment. "I seen some action, and seen some crazy worlds. But its a big universe, so plenty more to see, I guess. We can take you wherever you want to go, and will be at your service. I do like to know where we are going, though" he smiled. He ushered General Tolaan into the Xeno. "I guess its time for a look at the insides. And if you want, meet my engineer. She probably has the ship ready to take off now, if you want. You are hiring us, so we can go whenever you want..."

GM "Hmmm...what? Are you saying that we should approach from the rear? Use tactics? Why, I never found much use for such novelties in my time in the Army. Chin up, charge in, for Queen and Country, that always did the trick! And guns, too. Very handy to have guns when the blighters you are charging have spears. I can assure you of that. Why, I do recall my time in Africa, trying to build a damn bridge, then these Zulus..." He twirled his moustache lost in thought. "Pardon me ma'am, I digress. What did you have in mind then? Some kind of subterfuge?"
