  1. So Pitch will use Move Object on the Statue, as its copper. Sure, copper is non magnetic, but her power here is actually a magical mastery of metals, so this should fly Perception Range so I presume that is automatically hitting. Move Object 11, so STR 55 - I dont know if thats enough, but I would guess its ok. So its a grapple roll, which is where it might all fall down: 1d20+22=23 yep, thats as bad as it gets.
  2. "Yeah yeah yeah" came the voice back. The was a fairly big building, not in the best of repair, but with iron grills over the windows and doors. This was the Fens, after all. Harry "the Hound" Hound opened the door with half a peppered sausage in his mouth. His mac, tie, and shirt were as crumpled as ever, and his hair a mop of mess. He looked down. "What's up, mister? Its a Saturday. A Saturday morning, at that..." he yawned. "We charge double on a Saturday..." "No we don't!" came the booming voice of the Mess from inside the building. "Yeah, well, we do, so there" shouted the Hound back, spitting out his sausage on to the floor. "If you need an Investigator, this is the place to be. Great results, great prices, great service..." he said, starting to automatically go in to Sales Pitch.
  3. Okey dokey! So Carrying on with the climb - I dunno if we are out of combat now, so making two rolls as you kind of implied another two rounds to reach the Box of Plot... 1d20+7=23, 1d20+7=20 Ok to post?
  4. NB: Velocity - 4 HP Grimalkin - 1 HP (If I count correctly) Also Roberts Cardiac Arrest is "comic book" cardiac arrest. So you know, unlikely thumps to the chest and everything...
  5. And the plan manifests... Robert is knocked out and in cardiac arrest from the shock. For the complication, 1 HP to Velocity. To start with the electricity causes a DC 10 Area Affect to Grimalkin. Her Danger Sense comes into play, giving her a +5 bonus on the reflex save. Then, initiative: 1d20+4=19 for Cyberduke Note that moving in the cellar, with all the cables, during combat, requires a DC 5 DEX check or you get electrocuted (Damage 5 effect).
  6. GM "Er..of course...." muttered an uneasy Lord Robert Harrow as he took the telephone. He was soon to become even more uneasy. The rage of an enraged Grimalkin was not easy to behold. And aside from the pure fury of the fey, every machine and instrument hit and struck exploded in a shower of sparks, The lightning flashed uneasily, and he could swear the power cables on the floor almost wriggled. And then... A massive arc of electricity. Then another, then a whole symphony of arcs, all lancing to the central monolith in the room. Amidst an explosion of arcing power, the monolith cracked open... And inside, the body of the Duke. Or a body, at least. This one was, however, different. Power cables were attached to his entire body. His body was a patchwork of metal and chrome, only his eyes remained untouched, glittering with pleasure. "Now this body. This took some doing! The power! Even I would not have guessed! The Speed of Velocity is truly incredible!" he said, entire body crackling with energy. "I could even be more beautiful than you, dear butterfly!" he said to Grimalkin. "Yes, more beautiful still...I just need more power...." he said greedily. The room exploded with sparks and lances of electricity as the final surge hit his cyborg body, the powercables falling off him completely... Robert was thrown across the room, his chest smoking, knocked out...or worse...
  7. But no HP left...

  9. Grimalkin can make a DC 25 Sense Motive Roll. Both of you can make a trained DC 20 Behavioural Sciences Roll if able. Tracing the call to its origins...well, if you wish to do your stuff and make appropriate rolls (COmputers, Craft [Electronic], etc etc)
  10. GM "Oh ho ho! I am far to fat to be twisted, my little butterfly" chuckled the Duke down the phone to Grimalkin. "How amusing and pretty you are! Why, you have been quite a delight. A splendid little side show whilst your speedy friend speeds me up again. That last little jaunt to America...why, it blew my socks off, quite literally!" "I imagine the little jigsaw is falling together now. You can't win, you know. Do you have any idea how many clones of me I have made? ten? twenty? a hundred? All I need do is keep them fed and watered. Or in some cases, simply kept on ice. Yes, I am an expert on cloning. Made my fortune that way, passing off cloning technology to the Red's during the cold war. You see, I have no wish to die, not even a little. Slowing down, even by microseconds, is simply unacceptable" "So I started cloning myself, again, and again. I have got very good at it. And given my peculiar little talent of hopping between my bodies, immortality is mine. I am not a harsh man, or cruel, merely determined to live, and live delightfully, an immortal hedonist" he said, smiling down the phone. "Now, I would very much like Velocity to return to my laboratory and run around very very fast indeed. Otherwise, I have decided to ram the train I have just taken over straight into the central train station of a major city, and kill this body. Oh, and many hundreds of other people too. Poor little folk. Now, you wouldn't want that on your conscience just because you weren't prepared to exercise a little, would you?"
  11. GM Lt. Sparrow, the leader of the Marines, slowly put down his assault rifle and held up his fist to his men. Stand down, his meaning. He and his men had been ready to blow some new breathing holes in the Atlanteans, and probably would have if Myrmidon had not acted first. "Mind control? By drowning?" It was a strange concept, but these were strange days. He looked down to the water by his boots, worried. "The Walker...it should be air tight...how could they drown here?" The lights flickered. "We need to get power back up. And check the seals..."
  12. Cheers Rob, so not blinding. Just to clarify, is he moving all out or accelerated? (p33 Core rules)
  13. GM "A smart phone, you say? Why, if I dare profess a contrary opinion, it does not appear smart. Where is the whistle? Where is the steam vent? Why, it does not even tick! What does it run on? Electricity! haha!" he said, chortling at the apparent ludicrous nature of the proposal. As Ulysses spoke up he gave a little bow to Synapse and redirected his attention to the man, puffing his chest up. "Well, I dare say it's some insane primitive notion of India for Indian's, sir. All part of the empire now, but some luddites don't want progress. 'What have the English Ever Done For Us'? They ask, well, apart from education, sanitation, roads, and railways. And cricket, of course! How we ever survived without cricket is beyond me. A game surely invented by Vishnu himself, if you ask me!" he said proudly, giving a brief discourse on how India had crushed the world in the sport. "As for why they want the rail road destroyed, I imagine its just some fanciful will to destroy, Sir. On the other hand, the cult is full of the most queer idea's. Worship Kali, goddess of destruction and death, they say. Perhaps it is some ghastly religion thing" he said, stroking his mustache in contemplation.
  14. And that just hits! He is tough old bird though. His Toughness is +4 1d20+4=14 ouch! Its a DC 22 Toughness, so that makes him bruised and dazed (or worse if you feel lethal damage coming on). Post away!
  15. Lord Steam cursed himself. A microtransmitter microphone would have been more useful. But at least he had tagged his mysterious quarry. For how long? The little pin would not last for ever. Hopefully long enough. He shivered. Wet clothes and a run was a chilly business. Maburds place was a risky enterprise at best. Discovered there, and surely he would be discovered, and he would be right in the hornet's nest of trouble. Charles Blakely, however, would be another matter. He had some coins at least. Stepping into an antiquated phone booth, he slotted some dimes and quarters, and called up Blakely, still waiting in Alice, the underwater marine vessel. "Blakely old chap, a bit of a stricky wicket here. Found some mysterious chap, did a runner. Managed to stick him with a tracer, but the blighter ran straight into a cop restaurant. Awash with the blue" he said, phone jammed in shoulder as he wrung out some clothes. "Could you park Alice, get over here in Bessie. Time to switch to wheels, I think. Spare set of clothes would be spiffing. Oh, and as they are not after you, I would be much obliged if you would see whats going on. Can't show my own face..."
  16. Still need that DC 16 Reflex save vs Visual dazzle - and sure, post the run! (also, note if you are moving all out)
  17. "That is far" answered Starshot, speaking not just of the light years but of the culture and exotic factor. He got up and shook hands with Nerrit. A guy he trusted, despite everything. For Nerrit, reputation was important. He may dip into the shadows, but if he screwed his contacts, he would be out of work. Or worse, out of life. He took out his pocket communicator and dialed up Deep Freeze. "Heads up, grease monkey, we got a job" he said to her as he turned back to Nerrit. "Ship's pretty much ready to go anyhow, Nerrit. I'm ready for that introduction when you are..."
  18. Jake squinted at Revenant, jamming his tin foil helmet on tighter. "Is that you, Lucy? Really you?" he asked suspiciously. "The CIA not injected you yet?" he said with a conspirational wink and a mime of an injection into the top of his skull. "Everyone reckons old Mad Jake is Mad!" he whispered, fear coming back to his voice. "Ask me, its them thats crazy, saying Mad Jake is a Madman!" he said, eyes wide. "Its the Mission of Mercy...you know, the one run by the nun, giving all sorts of drugs and things to the homeless. Experiments, if you ask me..." he said, eyes shifting left and right. "Dunno what they cooked up there, but it looked like the Devil Himself! The Nun, she had horns, forked tongue, and tasting the blood they have there! I always knew it was a government conspiracy, that place, but looks like they are using black magic now!" he said, full of contempt.
  19. "Business is indeed business" agreed Oskar. That much was true. A machine without morals, uninterested in the infliction of pain or the acquisition of pleasure. It trundled along blind and ignorant. One could only hope that a few good men at least tried to steer it. Fact was, in Space, you still needed credits to get by. He had a decent business, and lived well enough. But he needed to keep the wheels of his business oiled. He could pick and choose - to a degree. This looked pretty fair business, at least so far. "Sounds like the Xeno could do that" he replied. "Fast ship. And finding lost objects. Well, I usually find animals. But I don't suppose this is too different" he said congenially. "Lets say you got yourself a ship and a crew. When is lift off and whats the passenger manifest?" he asked. Best not to ask about the "not too many questions".
  20. Well if he is still on your back we can call that a complication! In any case, feel free to attack!
  21. Well I think Mrmidon just knocked them both out TT
  22. GM The two Atlanteans went down with a not so gentle splash, the floors of the walker wet. As the walker stomped along the ocean floor, the puddles and streams lolled this way and that, gently splashing against walls, boots, and now three Atlantean bodies. Myrmidon's examination of the leader was revealing and serious. He was not dying. At least not yet, but he was bleeding badly, his organs splintered. He needed surgery, but at least Myrmidon could stop the bleeding. It wasn't easy, and it wasn't nice. "No...no..morphine...." said the Atlantean through gritted teeth. "You must stop this machine. It houses a dreadful weapon. And the Drowned man...grrrrnt....he wants it...you must stop him...we heard rumours of the dread lord of the deepest seas for years. But nothing....grnnnt...no nothing could prepare us for....grrnt....him. He is unstoppable...and yet you must...grrrnt....uhhhh...he will crush the world...sea and land....how could we know how....grrnt...." and then he passed out from the pain.
  23. GM The Captain half obliged, slowing the boat down to a crawl but not turning back. He had gone a white color. His steward was of a similar ilk, but at least had some courage in his boots. Zaki floated to the boat as Erick swam back, stroking his way through the Nile waters. The poor professor was coughing and, despite being fierce of will, was clearly shaken by the whole ordeal as he landed in the boat aft. "What..what were those things? We had rumours, I have heard. Stupid local whispers and superstition, everyone thought. A meme from old days. But..they were real? What were they?" he asked, although the answer came soon enough. "Darwin - X! It must be! They were perfectly adapted for the river. Gills, webbed hands and feet. Even their eyes...yes...it must be! And it can be no coincidence that our trip down here was..a target. No different from a snipers bullet!" "A sniper?" gasped the boat Captain. "That's it! I refuse to take you any further! off my ship!"
