  1. "Gimme a computer, I can hack it" explained Red Rat to Revenant on the way. "I just can't understand Legal. Need you for that!" she smiled at the deathly beauty. Whilst Revenant looked spooky, and even more spooky when looking with infrared vision and X-Ray vision, she had a magnetic unearthly beauty that could captivate. And besides, Revenant was even more out of time than she was. At Ferretti's house she started studying it, peering through walls and doors and windows with X-Ray vision. Analysis: House. Said Slave, its words flashing up in bland and unhelpful letters on her cybernetic eyes. Really? You are a real help sometimes, you know that, huh? Now be useful and lets see if we can't find something to hack into. Even if he just has a personal computer, you never know what he might be hiding on it...
  2. Initiative Rolls please! 1d20+5=20 There are four Frogmen, they are not minions. If you have ultrasonic hearing, you can hear them squarking and talking in ultrasonic frequencies to each other, and using it as a bat-sonar. We are in low light conditions - not enough to cause concealment or stuff, but may impair long distance vision.
  3. GM Forewarned is Forearmed. Especially with Foreshadow. Without Ericks vision, it would have been silent. It would have been unseen in the azure low Sun and its long black and beautiful shadows. One hand on the side of the boat, then another. Then, it slithered on board, silent and sleek. He was short, maybe five feet. And emaciated too, with spindly arms and spindly legs. But he had the limbs of a snake, tight, fast, like whips. He was hairless, and wet, and with big black eyes. His feet were broad and webbed, and he had gills on the side of his neck. His speech was distorted and bubbling, and in a corrupted form of Egyptian. "<The Nile is ours, Zaki...we have been warned...you shall not take us...the Nile is ours....>" And with that, he leapt, lithely at Zaki, as three other frogmen started slithering on board, to the tune of screams from the Captain and the Steward...
  4. "Sheesh! Even my poop turned white!" gasped Harry, clutching at his chest with what he hoped was an imagined, rather than real, heart attack. "Chest...pains...I gotta quit smoking...." he wheezed, lighting up a Cigar and puffing it like it was an oxygen tube. "Sweet Mary, I needed that..." he said, voice climbing down to normal and blood recirculating in his body. "And now we gotta meet some world class assassin or super powered killer or something. Yippee! I'm staying in the car, even if it is busted!" he said, defiantly, clicking the doors to locked. He wound down the window to speak to his sturdier friends. "What are ya waiting for then? Go take a look, and don't get shot!" "You got it buddy!" smiled the Mess, giving his partner two thumbs up and scanning the warehouse. He jumped full over the chain link fence and started to walk to the Warehouse to take a closer look...
  5. GM "But there you are wrong, oh so very wrong!" laughed Tonic in Geckoman's face. "I am inspired. I have seen visions! I am guided! When my mastery of mere science was complete, I looked further, looked deeper! I saw dimensions other than this world. I saw lights, ghosts, Jinn! Why, your puny closed mind cannot begin to comprehend the wonder of it all!" "If we fight, it will be you who falls, my green friend. And your blood is infused with my own catalysts! It will save my daughter, make her stronger than ever! haha!" "But I have no need to crush your wicked head in my hands. No! Catch me if you can!!!" he said in a snort, and ran off. Tonic was of average height, but broad, like he had muscle pasted onto him. One might think he was a lumpering ape, but this was not so. Instead, he leapt into the air, a clear twenty feet into the air, and landed heavily, straight into an olympian run. Tonic was as fast as Geckoman!
  6. GM Robert was still sleepy headed. The Coffee was helping however. The Duke had not skipped on strong, aromatic beans and they had oozed into his sluggish system. "Well, it should be simple enough...just pull the plug!" he said cheerily. He leant down to pull the cables away, but pulled his hand away sharply as it sparked and crackled. He turned to gaze at the cobweb of cables all around the floor. "Yeah...maybe not that easy..." he muttered. The cellar was a death trap. "But if we can cut the power, then the whole thing shuts down. Which means I hope someone brought a flashlight..." he explained, scratching his head.
  7. Neomi got out of the car as gracefully as her dress would allow. She wasn't exactly used to such garments, but she was no stranger to them either. And she did have a graceful walk. Whatever Darwin-X had done to her, she was a smooth and slick as a panther. "Grin and Bear It" welcomed them. This part of town was not nice, and was largely abandoned crumbling buildings. Grin an Bear it was no exception. She and hoped she had flushed out all the killer robots and semi formed clones that had plagued her on the first visit. "Welcome to Russia" she said with a raised eyebrow and a wink. She went to the cash till and pressed a few buttons, careful not to let the others sea. Spy habits die hard, after all. Then, the ground slid away revealing the stark iron tunnel leading to the underground Safehouse...
  8. 1d20+1=17 However, have a go first as he was getting out of the car and scrabbling for Geckoblood!
  9. 1d20+0=3 a truly awful Gather Info roll so she knows nothing. Scene cut to three days time?
  10. Which is the killer? Both of them. This was war, cold and hard. In such circumstances, violence happened without a moral context. Who was right? who was wrong? was there even such a thing? Life often boiled down to survival and hard snap choices. She crawled carefully away from the house, careful to avoid the raccoons and the automatic light. Three days time, a location, and an hour. The Red Rat would be there, probably poking her nose in. Possibly not. In the mean time, she would make her plans and look into just what the Black Dragon was about...she had no contacts she could trust in America, but the world was a bigger place, and she could look elsewhere...
  11. GM The Servant gulped, clearly anxious. "Well...I....er...yes of course...I am glad to help..." he said, wiping his brow with a silk handkerchief. He seemed to be the cook, judging by his girth, jowels, and stained apron. Despite this, the Duke seemed to have insisted all his servants had silk handkerchiefs. Presumably to wipe the Duke down. "Gods! This is...unbelievable...." he said, tracing a finger through the lines of the notebook. "The Duke...he has been around this long? Nearly seventy years...if not more. Lets see.... I cannot understand it all, lots of Science. Talking about cloning bodies, medicine, physics...all beyond me, I am afraid..." He moved to the last pages. "Here...what does this say?"...
  12. GM... Down in the depths, some time later... First they passed the light water, shoals of fish. The water was cool, the sunlight still sparkled ahead. Then deeper, where the light dimmed and the water was cold. A large shark swam past, briefly contemplating a snack, but choosing wildly. Then, the depths. The pressure was hard, the water not quite freezing. All was dark, and silent. An Angel fish swam past, with a grotesque grin. Down below, some huge beast, all tentacles, slid past them, silent. And then, they arrived at the depth of the oceans, and the epicentre of the seismic disturbances. It was a spider. A giant spider, admittedly. A spider of metal and maxi-glass, hundreds of metres along. Crawling slowly, so slowly, on the muddy dark ocean floor. It had lights glowing a faint green. A rumble of motors and energy. I giant, robotic spider. But was that all? No, it was nor a robot. It was a vehicle. An eight armed walking vehicle, moving slowly on the ocean floor.
  13. Da Duke has fallen asleep!
  14. the Rat pulled back Slave from the Computer. Most telling. There could only be one conclusion. Sexxxyblondegril, or whoever he was, was a professional assassin. She had known several assassins. Even assassinate a few assassins. Such was the nature of the clandestine world of the Cold War. They could, and usually were, cold people. Psychopathic or militant or devoted or fanatic or any other such quality which made life of little value. Sometimes, even there own. But, what was samoanstallion57? The head behind the sting. That was the more interesting, and more vital question. Only one way to find out. Go to the next meeting...or the next target...
  15. GM The Rolls slid to a halt, covered in the shattered remains of wood and splinters. The poor, previously immaculate lawn now looked like it had been home to a half dozen games of rugby, one after the other. It would have brought tears to the eyes of any grounds keeper. "What a bothersome mess! Why you would try the patience of a saint, my dear" muttered the Duke as the Car slid its final few inches past Grimalkins head. "Fortunately, I have the patience of a whole army of saints. I am not vexed, not one bit!" he said gaily. "Why, this is a splendid game! More fun than I have had in quite a few days, I dare say!" He chuckled quite loudly. "But I fear it is time to depart. I have other business you see, you might say a global business, haha! I will see you later!" he announced, before falling asleep at the wheel, snoring loudly.
  16. I will presume that Grimalkin can dodge out of the way. Which means Grimalkin is up!
  17. GM Dr. Tonic looked back, and gasped as Geckoman started to run after him. His face then contorted with determination. He taunted the Green Hero with a little jingle of an injector filled with the heroes blood, before stepping on the gas and rocketing his car forward. Whilst not top end, it was a good, reliable and big car. It sped forward, oblivious to the highway code, and started weaving left and right across the road, and even into the pavement, causing pedestrians to jump aside. Whilst determined, he was not an expert driver. He knocked off a wingmirror on a street light. He crunched into another car, sending them both spinning and yet...he moved forward, with a crumpled bonnet, smashed headlight, and gurgling of the engine. A moment later, and he sided into an irate motorcyclist, sending a pair of deep gouges down his left side. He ignored it all, jumping forward again, hurtling with breakneck careless speed. He was just making some progress away from the speeding Geckoman when he crashed headlong into a lorry whilst jumping some lights. The Gasbag inflated into his face and he dropped the injector. A moment was spending ripping the bag from his face and scrabbling around for Geckoman's blood. The Car hissed steam and started to catch fire. Dr Tonic cursed, and kicked open the damaged door, climbing out just as Geckoman caught up with him...
  18. So geckoman is moving all out. Thats enough to keep up with a car going through traffic...but....it does have to weave through traffic! So, Geckoman can move all out for 18 rounds. How long can Tonic Drive the Car through the traffic? Its not rush hour suburbs, and pavements are legitimate for a man of his kind...but still... I am going to say it is twenty rounds to the MONORAIL stop (his destination). Each round he has to make a DC 5 Drive Check or face a DC 25 Toughness check to the car from a collision / bump. A natural 1 means a full on crash. Unfortunately, his Drive Check is not massive: a huge +1. Lets see how he does... 1d20+1=3, 1d20+1=16, 1d20+1=8, 1d20+1=6, 1d20+1=17, 1d20+1=6, 1d20+1=4, 1d20+1=3, 1d20+1=17, 1d20+1=8, 1d20+1=6, 1d20+1=8, 1d20+1=5, 1d20+1=19, 1d20+1=15, 1d20+1=14, 1d20+1=14, 1d20+1=16, 1d20+1=11, 1d20+1=5 He takes a crash at round 1, 7 and 8. His Car is a regular Mid sized car with Toughness 9 1d20+9=18, 1d20+9=28, 1d20+9=12 First crash an injury, Second Crash Nothing, a third crash (with a -1 penalty) is a wrecking of car (at round 8). So Geckoman has kept pace and is 8 rounds into all out running. At this point Tonic exits said car. You catch up with him and have initiative!
  19. I believe it is the power rank (6) plus your will save. Vs the Damage. But what damage is a moving car in reverse? This is difficult because on the one hand, I would be pretty sure it could crush a wooden structure. On the other hand, its only going in reverse. So I am not going to sweat about it too much. Lets call it a slam attack at +5 which also means a +2 Damage attack on the (Full Sized Car) which has a tough of +9 1d20+9=18 which it makes!
  20. GM The Rat, and her enormous head, looked skywards to the extraordinary sight. In fact, as "evolved" as this form was, the massive cranium on a atrophied body caused a nasty crink in her neck when she leant backwards. What is this? Surely some Alien form, in human guise. A Grue, maybe! I must be alert. You may perform tactical analysis, Slave, whilst my superior Mind contemplates the more esoteric nature of the situation! As you wish, mistress! Your intellect is beyond my fathoming! And why only half of her? A visual field! Light warping, or DImensional lensing! Yes! Dimensional lensing! But why only half...? A field in certain spatial parameters, perhaps? Not fixed on the body, but occupying a certain fixed point in space here...how big? Who can say??? "Welcome to Earth, I greet you on behalf of humankind!" she called up.
  21. No sudden movements. Just watching. She kept her body deathly still, and studied the man and the computer. Then, she kicked Slave into play. Analysis: Standard home computer. Scanning....Establishing remote link...Remote link completed...Processing computer system interfaces...Activating Intrusion Routines...Virus Defence Wall Modulated... It went on and on. It was hard to say who was Slave to her when they worked like this. The Rat had a sense of control, of direction, but the truth was, without Slave she wouldn't know her way around the intricacies of computers. Slave dove in, giving heads up readings of the invasion into the computer, readings she only half understood. It was a time when she felt symbiotic with Slave - an unnerving and serene experience rolled into one. She was trying to find out what secrets were hidden in that computer...
  22. So I dont know what level of security the PC has, if any...but computer roll is 1d20+15=20 which only defeats minimum security level. If she does get in she can make the DC for finding files as she needs.
  23. "Beats me" said Carmen, angrily. "We got a demon who helped us finding a demon who is trying to kill everyone, but has turned into a cloud of damn flying insects from hell. It ain't pretty.." she explained. The sounds from outside were unnerving to say the least. Carmen didn't know how the hell to fight this kind of demon. The more she fried under her breath, the more there were of them. It was like a hydra. "Tell me you guys found another way out? Don't old Churches have bolt holes, or something? For Priests hiding from the Inquisition?" she could swear she could have read something about that somewhere. It certainly wasn't at school. Because she played truant most of the time. "And I suppose a nuclear weapon is too much to ask for...huh?"
  24. GM "Goodness! What a marvel! Perhaps I should be siphoning off that effervescent spirit of yours, my dear" said the Duke, laughing once more. He took aim for a second with his bow, but if he had difficulty hitting Grimalkin now...the odds were significantly worse in his favour. "Tut tut! I have had a hundred years practice, but still...you are a most evasive bullseye, my dear. And I have the wits to recognise it. In my experience, and it is a formidable experience, it is best to change ones tactics if one is flogging a dead horse. Yes indeed!" He jumped into the Car, which was still running, and jammed it into reverse... "I find it is better to change course haha!" he shouted merrily, stamping on the accelerator and churning turf with spinning typres. And then, the Car started to belt, in reverse, towards Grimalkin and the blind...
  25. To which the Duke responds with getting in his car, and putting it in reverse... So Grim is up again!
