GM A few seconds later... the duke smoothed down his ruffled hair. The sonic boom and wind of Velocties arrival had damaged his comb over. "Amazing! Amazing! Quite simply Amazing!" he said with a broad grin as the couple arrived. "I have never seen such a prodigious display of speed! You are...velocity, correct? The super hero? Fastest woman...or even fastest human on the planet? The press clippings and TV shows do you a diservice, ma'am!" His hair in place, he gave a deep bow and introduced himself. The beefcake by his side had tensed on her arrival, but he remained silent and still not introduced. "I am in need of particular help. I know not if you can give it, but...I can hope!" he said, trying to keep a cheerful face. "My home, my castle, my lands...but, to be frank, mainly myself...are slowing. Day by day, and I have measured this, I seem a little bit more decayed, and the world, just so slightly, faster..." "He isn't lying there. I can sense it..." said a slightly uncomfortable Robert. The stopwatch had left him with an uncanny knack to know the time. Precisely know the time. He said he could sense the quantum ticks of the universe. The stopwatch, and his clock sense, had not left him without slightly frayed nerves. "The..ticks...are slower. Just slightly...but...getting worse" he said, pressing his hands to his temples. "Feels strange..." he said, slightly faintly.

GM Robert was used to Velocity by now. The wind, the swoosh. He almost had a sixth sense about her coming. "Good afternoon to you too, sexy" he said with a smile, folding down his newspaper. Around him were various scrawls and books on physics. A couple of doodles. A couple of doodles of the stopwatch. "If its action and adventure you want, I'm your man! I happen to have a superhero as a girlfriend!" he said, giving her a passionate kiss. "I am proud of you, you know. Doing all this stuff. I just wish I didn't worry about you so much. Bad for my heart" he said rubbing the left side of his chest. "I suppose we are taking the express route rather than the conventional one?" he asked, bracing himself for...

Are we dropping out of combat?

1d20+4=21 Hmmm. A stealth roll would not be a bad idea. But how about putting one of his mini tracers on the foe? 1d20+6=20 which he lucks out and does!

Lord Steam was all ready to shout "Halt in the name of the Law!" But he was too busy breathing for that. in...out...in....out.... Just like when old Mister "Psycho" Poddlesmith, the physical education master at Eton used to flog us around cross country and give us the cold hose afterwards! His legs pounded the pavement. Bang...bang...bang...in a steady pace. He was nearly there...he could almost touch the blighter. But not quite...not quite... He paced himself. This was not a sprint...he was gaining. If he over exerted himself now, he could lose all. Patience was the key. Wait till the runner fatigued, made a slip, lost that extra half second pace...

CON roll 1d20+4=19

They are likely to be both. But to answer the question - you dont really need the hologram. Indeed, it may be an interesting complication to look alien for the earth based threads.
-
Looks cool and fun! My personal note is that those complications look like plot hooks and emotions rather than Of course that is not a problem, complications are a personal choice. Just a heads up that only secret ID is probably going to trigger. The emotional states and enemies is good backstory and for writing, however. Not knocking them for those purposes!

"I ain't seen this before, and I have seen plenty of madness like it", said Pitch, smoking and flaming quietly away. In a moment, the fire alarms and sprinkler systems would activate. It was an annoying part of Tazel firing up in buildings. Of course, she didn't mind the water herself. Fired up, it would just evaporate off her, it certainly wouldn't put out the hellfire. that burned within her. Maybe subdue it a bit, if anything. But it did tend to make a mess of the building. Probably wouldn't be long before some stiff tried to sue her ass. "I got something out of the other one" she said, tapping the cane that had briefly bound the demon. "I ain't sure they even know what they are, or why..."We were sent to find, pilfer, and retrieve" she recalled to the group. "So they are thieves, working for somebody else. "'This was done as payment. This metal, likewise, is payment, offered to us by our employer, a wonder of Hell and Earth alike' it said. Sounds like someone had done a deal with them. Likely to go south, like they all do. Steel them up, so to speak" she said tapping the metal with her cane. "Don't know anybody who could summon demons and be an expert in cybernetics" she said aloud. Although it did smack a little of the infernal forge, the endless plane of steel, smoke, and molten metal. Whether that plane was being used, or just somebody had got real good at cyber-demons, she couldn't tell. She looked up at Dragonfly. "You seem a sharp cookie, honey. You got three people who could do this? Whats ya best guess?"

"Feel the steel, honey!" smiled Carmen, almost ecstatic she had turned the table on the little $£%! She snapped her fingers, mainly for effect, and the chains began to tighten around his body, squirming like an anaconda, slow but ominous, biting into flesh. She didn't want to squeeze the life of the boy, who had presumably been possessed, but she could squeeze the breath out of the demon, she hoped. And a few red welts to salt the wound. "The Cantos' don't roll over. And you ain't the first sulphur an' Brimstone dog in those chains, I can tell you. Plenty more where that came from" she sneered, pulling herself into an upright position. "What ya going to do know? Lost my little Cane, have you? Maybe you stuck it up your own backside? Shall I have a look up there? Maybe if these chains go tight enough, you will $£"! it out!" she laughed. "Yeah, that's a good idea! I don't need it anyway, you see, it is tied to me. If somebody like you stole it, well, that just makes me stronger!" she said with an evil grin and full of confidence...

Ill start with the constricting on the snare , which means a DC 20 or 21 Toughness save (honestly, I don't know which, as UP does not say round up or down. I think DC 20 rounding down is more likely!) Then, I am going to try an intimidate roll as a move action: Presumably with +2 due to favoured enemy feat? (I guess its a demon, anyway!) 1d20+9=13 That priobably wont fly! And as a move action, I will try a bluff roll as a trick, to see if I can get him/it to reveal where the Cantos Cane is! 1d20+14=32 much more likely (again, given the +2 feat bonus)

"Well I'd love to drop the informal and cosy up to the informal" replied 'Honey', before finishing he champagne. Warning: Alcohol levels suboptimal! Suboptimal for what? She eyed Amir's suit and the glowing lines. That looked interesting. And slightly worrying too. Glowing things always made her worry. In her head, she wondered if she had pancreatic cancer. Her stomach seemed to rumble in an unnatural way. Now the awkward bit. "So, it just so happens I may have come across some rather nasty glowing stuff" she said, squirming. Her foot turned inward, twisting. Her eyes rolled upwards, avoiding. This bit was not acting. As they taught you in spy school, the best way of lying was telling the truth. Amir was public with his superhero status. She was not. "Or rather, I know of a friend who has. A friend who would dearly like to get rid of it, properly and safely, but who would also dearly love to not get questioned by people who ask questions. Particularly by people who ask lots of questions, like, say, UNISON" It was a gamble, for sure. Amir could arrest her now, and whilst the Red Rat was no pushover, and had plenty of unusual skills, she was no match for a genuine superhero who could fly to the moon and hurl trucks like baseballs. "That friend could really use some bona fida super powered help!" she said, giving big eyes and a smile. And a little lick of her lips.

GM "Your bravery is impressive, Capitalistic Dog" said Zero, taking a step back. "You have will, as Nietzsche would say. Yes, the triumph of the superman over the man. Perhaps you are not so different from me after all..." "Not so different, but still beneath me" he said. He took another leap backwards, a clear twenty feet across the rusted metal and crumbling concrete of the old warehouse they where atop. "On another day, you would join the lofty Communist cause. You would help bring man to a new era of happiness, peace and prosperity. Like Socrates, a world lead by Philosopher - Kings. You could have been one of them. But no, you chose decedance and chaos...." Another blast from his gun. White and frosted, glittering like diamond, the beam encrusted Foreshadow, crawling over his body, quickly forming an icy shell...

So moving all out to catch the masked man! Steam does not have speed power, but he has a fair old constitution to hold out with sprinting!
-
GM "That is about right, madam. Succinct and to the point. And rather mortifying too, to have ones mortality put in such blunt terms" he said, peppered with sadness, irritation, and frustration. "And I confess I have no wish to die. I have done everything I can to ensure I jump from that fate!" he said, with a glint in his eye, and a smile. "Oh come now, surely it is not foolhardiness or vain to avoid death? We all do it, some do it quick, some do it slow, but we all seek to avoid the scythe. Even if we do not admit it to ourselves!" he said, twirling his sideboards in thought. "I will of course pay handsomely for any aide. And I pay not just for myself, but for my castle, my lands, and even my country. I know not what is transpiring, but I know this, it is getting worse! worser and worser! Even with my best scientists, of whom I am one, even with a castle full of the most exquisite of apparatus and machines, I cannot stop it!"
-
A miss, unfortunately. Zero will move back again, firing an ice ray at Foreshadow! Shifting -2 Attack +2 Defence 1d20+12=27 yoikes, thats a DC 20 Reflex save (Snare, dscriptor "covered in ice!")

GM In the air, back to Freedom City... ...on a small plane... Gold was snoring. Loudly. Thanks to a sedative Cord had injected him with. Cord was snoring. Loudly. Thanks to being flat out exhausted, driven like a dog by Blue Jay. They were halfway back to Freedom City. The ride was pleasantly still, with only the odd mild patch of turbulance. The sky was clear, affording Blue Jay a magnicent view of the lands between Canada and the States, all the more picturesque for the archers sharp eyes. The pilot of the craft, a fit middled aged asian man, put the craft on auto pilot, and got up. He took a look at Blue Jay and Gold. "That man..." he said pointing at Gold. "He is Matt Gold?...I...I think I remember something about him...." he said frowning and pressing his temples. "Where are you taking him?"
-
Steam put the copper tube in his waist coat pocket as he observed the man. "This is a fine old mess! Reminds me of Fat Biffy at Eton, when he stole the headmasters monocle for the silly buggers society" he whistled. If he stayed, he would be the culprit. And the man in the mask clearly had secrets. Opening secrets were his business. Steam was a good runner, fit and agile, but by no means a sprinter. In addition, he did not want to make undue noise. There was no way to do everything however. Run, it was. His long legs started him forward, and, still wet from his swim, he plunged into pursuit in long, elegant but antiquated strides.
-
He cant actually fail that! (+20 bonus!)

GM "Non! I think it is something else entirely. You life is yours, liberty, liberty, liberty! Seize it, that is all!" He sat down, stroking his beard. "Your fury is righteous, and not to be denied. For fury is denial. It is the spirit that will not accept, that kicks against the universe that is so wrong and absurd. Oui! Fury is born from despair, and leaves it behind!" "Do not think I have a bolt of magic lightning or a spell of obliteration that can kill the parasite that bleeds you. I do not. That demon, he was goading me to fight it - and either it was over confident, which I doubt, or it knew I could not harm it. Or, even worse, it would feed on my fight!" "What I suggest is that we fight it, but not on its terms. Even if we cannot win, then we lose defiant and proud. that is What I suggest!" He stood up. "So, why you, lovely Martha? did he pick a soul from the crowd at random, like a pin falling on a chessboard? or is there something of you that is sweet, that is poetic? Do you soar, do you dream? Do you fall?"

Foreshadows card skillz are the awesome. HG feel free to respond to "Mr Lock", who appears to know the person you are pretending to be! Also, to all: Once you roll feel free to narrate your playing, any tricks, the drinks, the steaks, and interactions with other. Once we have all rolls I can narrate the effects of play.
