  1. 25 on Dr Norths? Attack roll and DC 23 Toughness Save. Brutal, as not in battlesuit, but fear not - we are not in combat, that was a wild swing. What Predator does know is that Dr North is faster and stronger than any human.
  2. GM "On our way..." came the response of the paramedical team. ETA, 1 minute. Doctor North sat down, and looked quite ill. His skin was almost alabaster white, his eyes blood shot red. "Who am I? Who am I?" he kept mumbling. His wandering eyes eventually found a lock on Predator. He started scrabbling at his chest, tearing away his drab clothes, nails scratching red lines across his sternum. "It's in me... alive! Hot! So Hot!" His pupils were dilated - he paused, one second, then swung out a raregful fists at Predator!
  3. Spooky! Feel free to take that and do with it what you will!
  4. We are at wrap point @Spacefurryand @Poncho Any last posts? In particular, what is Blackstaff doing with the cursed objects and his newfound Gender?
  5. GM There was more discussion in Cantonese. Befuddled, confused discussion. Whatever the four men had been expecting, it wasnt a superhero and an elderly professor talking about a gender-swapped magician and a giant anaconda with the head of a snake. Eventually, they seemed to come to some kind of consensus. "You not see us, we not see you. This no longer our business. Bye-bye." With that curt conclusion to the matter, the speed boat turned around and made for the open sea.
  6. GM The chains were firm, the bonds were tight, but the locks? The locks were no match for Madame Raven. With a clunk, they fell the floor. Wrack rubber her wrists - the skin was read with weals. "I'm Wrack," she said with a nod. "When I was born, they said it looked like I had been on one..." There was a spanish lilt to her accent, but it was faint. "Called a Witch, I was. Maybe I am one, too. Given I do not age. Ah! Pain upon pain through the ages. Wracked with pain, you might say. My back..." She rubber her lumbar region, wincing. The twisted spine certainly looked pretty painful, even from the outside. "Murk sent you? Looks like that piece of paper was worth something after all. But know this - I am in your debt, whether or not you signed that paper. And as for that fat man..." she added glaring at the unconscious form of Mr Silk. "How do you think we should kill him? quick or slow?"
  7. Gamma Buzz That, thought Baltazar Botez, was a very good question. Lamentably, he did not have a very good answer. "Hey, that's a bit personal, isnt it? I am fully sort of human, if you must know, Just a kid from mexico who was... ahhhh.... fortunate enough to get amazing radiation powers that are not only amazing, but amazingly amazing!" He shuffled his feet. "And a few minor cockroach powers which I am sure arent interesting..." he added with a wave of his hands. "They might have completely changed my biochemistry and appearance a little bit, but its nothing to speak of!"
  8. GM With a TWANG of the bowstring! With a THWIP! of a flying arrow! And finally a SQUELSH! of a blob of foam! The thug was encased in hardening foam. His clothes were ruined, and his eyes expressed more surprise than fear. Slowly, he started to topple backwards, frozen in place. With a THUD! he hit the ground, still helpless. As for the homeless, they scattered! some even dropped their brown papers bags, sending the cheap liquor splattering with the TINKLE! of shattered glass. As for the pale bald woman, she barely reacted, looking quite alive, but with all the reactions of a hypnotised zombie.
  9. We can assume that a tie up its only a minion. Post away!
  10. Haven Haven pressed his virtual fingers to his virtual forehead. The Wizard of Oz strikes again. He had no wish to manipulate the Lion, but he needed the white list. "What do you serve then?" he asked, scanning the menu. "And what makes you so scared, sir? Surely there is nothing to fear in this land of peace and tranquility? Every pixel, every byte, seems very well protected, no?" Did the Lion even know he was a computer pogramme? "It sounds to me like you are in need of some.... courage....?" It felt manipulative, and it felt cheesy. But he said it all the same; for something was beyond the facade --- and he needed to know what it was!
  11. Altogether now 20 and 27 for Grapples, so is grappled 23 and 28 for Damage, so no damage! Remarkably lucky, all in all, given Will his weakest save
  12. Starshot "Grue..." muttered Starshot. Grue were tricky, and dangerous. He kept out of Galactic politics, but he knew about the Grue. They could overwhelm the galaxy. Possibly the universe, even if the universe was a big place. This needed to be ended, and quickly. Fortunately, Doctor Archeville had cut down the aliens where the grenade had failed. Lesson learned - the Grue were too strong for such modest weaponry. Starshot needed to bring out the heavy guns. With a flick of a switch on his plasma gun he let the core overheat, and eject a good third of the contained hyperplasma; it spewed forth in a bright cackle of energised particles, threatening to engulf the aliens.... He let his hand of the trigger. That burst would deplete nearly half the plasma rifle's energy, and he needed to keep some in reserve. He rolled to the side and started shuffling, seeking cover...
  13. I'm not sure how many STarshot can get in this, but Plasma Overburn That's a line area Damage 11 effect. I guess three of four but leave that up to you The Reflex DC 21 and TOughness 26/20 rolls for whoever the effect hits If he can (with prone fighting and speed) will then use a move action to try and get partial cover behind a rock or something.
  14. GM "Scary crocodile?" asked the man, raising an eyebrow. His black chinese suit was silk. Pure silk. "No crocodile here. And you no answer question. Who you?" "I...!" started Professor armitage, putting his hands in his jacket lapels, "And professor..." "...." "...professor...." He gave a sideways glance at Golden Star. "Who am I again? And who are you, young fellow, if I may ask?"
  15. GM Professor Armitage was clearly dazed and concussed, but he could be lead by the hand as he mumbled how he was absolutely fine, he was in full possession of his faculties, and how the unnamable one of the yellow sign would reclaim his throne on earth and fill the cosmos with unimaginable darkness. Outside, there was a motorboat with a grumbling motor, bobbing up and down. Four men of chinese heritage, all wearing sharp blacksuits, bobbed inside. They were unarmed, as far as Golden Star could see. Inside the boat, a half dozen wooden boxes. "Who you?" demanded the man at the wheel in fair English, albeit with a noticeable Cantonese accent. "You aren't here for goods, are you?"
  16. OOC for this Hot and Bothered thread will eventually be merged into this.

    Cool Drugs

Monday March 5th In the worst slums of Freedom City Night time, decorated by a sprinkling of atmospheric rain. A fuzzy moon shone in the night sky. Here and there, betwixt the cloud cover, stars twinkled. It was a cold night, but the air was still. The drizzling rain fell down straight, rather than driving into your face. Still, one would have to wrap up warm or seek cover to see the morning. Even the homeless of Freedom of City knew that. The newest version of the Archer had got wind of a new drug that was been tested on the vagrants of Freedom City. Something that burned you up - sometimes literally. Increased strength and raised body temperature. Might keep you warm on dark nights, they said. And free. If you came to the right places, like here. A gaggle of homeless had gathered around a drum-fire and were asking a heavy set thug in a leather jacket about the drug. The thug was pointing at his companion, a tall, spindly woman, bald headed, bad skin, who was looking very much like she was on some kind of horse tranquiliser - barely standing up.
  18. Predator - Unharmed - 3 HP Also I am presuming that (for now) Pred is out of her battlesuit (unless she sleeps in it!) - so supersenses not active
  19. Dr North is clearly befuddled, possibly lying (although he is too confused too know if he is lying to himself...) DC 20 Medicine or Knowledge: Behavioural Sciences
  20. 24 and 13 for Baz, which I think makes him bruised and dazed
  21. GM The Ringmistress drew her bedsheets closer to her skin, curling up like a baby. "The chemical? You saw it? We bought it. From some smugglers down south... I didn't ask where it came from, I just heard it had this particular quality." She peered at the Tattered Man carefully. "You know Bedlam, right? Everyone here is an animal already. We just made it honest. At least animals dont pretend to be civilised. This whole place should return to the jungle. Pffft!" she spat. "I've seen more brutality here than in ten life times. Where do you think I got this scar?" she asked, pointing to her face. "And that's just the scar on the inside. The ones in my heart... they...." she grew a tear. "Well, you dont look like the man who would care about a woman's heart. But you do seek vengeance, dont you? Vengeance on who? I can help...."
  22. 18 well and truly intimidated!
  23. GM The bound woman in chains gave the two women a look that blended spite and hope. Her long jet black hair lay tousled over her face. Away from the heat of Mr Silk and the scissors, she straightened, but it was obvious that her back was hunched. Kyphoscoliosis; twisting and curvature of her spine. The rest of her body looked rather broken, too. Genetics had not been kind to her bone structure. "Who are you?" she spat. "Let me out of here and untold treasures will be yours, I promise!" "Come, you can surely break these bonds, can't you?" Despite het broken body, her voice was like chocolate - pure, smooth, seductive.
  24. So for the record! Mr Silk - Staggered, Unconscious Raven - Bruised x2, HP 3 Tsunami - Unharmed, HP 2
  25. Gamma Buzz "Oh sure... tents and stuff. I can do that!" In fact, this time, Gamma Buzz knew what he was talking about. Living in poverty in Mexico - well, one had to adapt. And tents, he had constructed and lived in. Not pleasant, but better to live in a tent than live under the stars. For the most part. Even if stars were twinkly and pretty. He knew the cold was no problem. At least, not for himself. He had a nuclear furnace in his belly keeping him warm. But this was a survival class and the others needed shielding. If he didnt have the ban on powers, he would have happily irradiated the ground with his incredible non lethal radiation, providing warmth for them all. He silently seethed at his inability to show off his amazing gamma powers, but he could still do the tent. He did a few backflips, just to look cool whilst doing it.
