You know nothing, Jon Snow Wayward

Yes Eidectic Memory will work for that. Also: Please post Ic once you have rolled. Bear in mind that we are now in a situation everyone can hear, so be mindful of what you say (although feel free to blurt). You may wish to use the bluff / innuendo rules if yo communicate to others!

GM The thin man studied all four carefully, with the very faintest of deference. "Peter Kranivisky...." he nodded to Foreshadow. "Lynda Reynolds, Enchante..." he said, kissing the hand of Grimalkin. "Monsieru...Ricardo...." he said, with a hint of disdain at Graft. "And Madame Harker, delighted..." he said, gaily holding Revenants hand limply, but not kissing her. Please allow me to introduce the other four members of our little game... "Monsieur Abola, from Africa, I understand he is new to the world of gambling, but he has put a very high stake in tonights event". The man was a large, muscular man, with dark skin and dark eyes, taking in everything around him. He looked like a panther holding cards. He was dressed in an all black number, with his shirt undone and a gold medallion. "Madame Yi, from China. Unfortunately not fluent in English, but I understand an uncanny woman with the cards" he said. Ms.Yi was a tiny old woman, with razor sharp eyes and a slight tremor that revealed some tattoos on her arm, covered by a silk gown. She looked quietly confident and very demure, giving a polite nod to the four heroes. "Monsieur Card. An appropriate and dubious name" he said with some disdain, introducing a large man with a white jacket and black tie. He was in excellent shape and had a hard, cold stare. A hint of a tattoo on his neck, and a shaved head with one or two scars. "Mr Card" had seen action. "And lastly, Monsieur Lock" he said, happily introducing a handsome man in his late fifities, extremely well dressed and elegant, with a winning smile and grey hair. Mr. Lock gave nothing away but politeness. "Please have a glass of wine on the house. A most excellent vintage I hear!" said the thin man, snapping his fingers at the lovely bartender, who smiled and brought out what seemed to be a very old, expensive bottle of red. "Also please note we have now scrambled the radiowaves of this area. A precaution, you understand, to avoid subterfuge and cheating..."

Great, you are all at the table! Before we start of with gambling, feel free to eat or drink or chat a bit. There are four other gamblers: Gambler [A]- Large Afro-Carribean man. make a DC 30 Notice Check. Gambler Small Chinese Lady. Make a DC 20 Streetwise Check Gambler [C] Large Caucasian man. Make a DC 20 Tactics Check Gambler [D] Handsome Silver Fox. Make a DC 25 Sense Motive or Behavioural Sciences Check Lastly you may make a DC 20 INT check (modified by +2 for every level of wealth you have) to show off about how well you know your wines and vintage, when the bottle is opened! (purely for bragging rights). Feel free to give yourself a +2 or +5 situational bonus if you are a general conniesuer of fine wines (or speak French!) Even more lastly, the area is now under a Radio Obscure 5 effect.

Sure. What you find out is really up to Blue Rose (Who can post here), but I would say a DC 20 check is enough to get all the basics about Wayward. As this is more fluff related, feel free (y'all) to take narrative license based on what you think is reasonable and what your rolls are.

Neomi took the young woman without question, wondering exactly what her story was. MM? who is that? She nearly blurted out the question. She had been up all night, doing the graveyard shift, and was looking forward to getting home into her rather shabby rented appartment, picking up a paper, and falling asleep reading in bed, Neomi was pretty resilient to lack of sleep. She could get by on a few hours a night. But there was getting by, and feeling refreshed. Sleep was needed to process emotions, she had read somewhere. "Hey lady" she asked with a smile. "What are you doing up at this hour? Most people are asleep. A few are waking up. You look you had a great party the whole night and are ready for some more! Tell me where this club is, I'm going to try it!" she said. If it was a club, and it was that good, she would go. She turned the taxi into Greenbank. Rather near her safe house, as it happened. At least at this time, traffic was yet to hit Freedom City, clogging it up with horns and fumes.

No he is good to go at this juncture (just bashed up like above!) if you have any particular ideas about nagging injuries or blood loss, then we can toss those around and maybe earn HP!

So to start off, Maelstrom and Triasoka can make reputation chart rolls for Wayward (if Rose can post em?) I would imagine Knowledge [popular Culture]would be in order. And Gathr information if any particular titbit is wanted! Amanda Adams is Waywards number 1 fan! I will leave it up to Rose to see if she remembers her at the front line of every concert! (She is also an optional complication for you, Rose). Please feel free to hook the reporters in however they wish. I may drop Pitch in as a cameo if the mood strikes me, simply because this is a Rock Concert and Pitch is a Rock Reporter (Magazine: Rock Report! if anyone wants to name drop). I'll see how that goes!

OOC for Featuring Rose: What style of Rock is Wayward? Because Necromme is out for Death to All But Metal!!! [NSFW]

GM Friday night, 8th August... The Beaudrie Opera House The famous Beaudrie Opera House did not often play Rock Concerts. But it did tonight. For one night only, Freedom City Beaudrie Opera House presents: Valerie Cain! Support Act: Aw3s0m3 Aw3s0m3 were not doing well. This was primarily because they were not very good, and their lead singer, Joe "Superstar" Billings had his charisma surgically removed at birth. The band was trying to wrap up its set whilst dodging things the audience were throwing at them. The crowd was wild for Valerie Cane, and getting impatient. Valerie Cane's Dressing Room.... "Oh my GOD!!!!" Amanda Adams burst into Valeries dressing room and shrieked, half collapsing from excitement. Somehow, Valerie Cane's number one fan had bought her way into the backstage, and into Valeries dressing room. She dropped a whole folders worth of photographs, articles, and scholarly works, all pertaining to Valerie, and they scattered like leaves over the floor. Amanda was a borderline obsessive fan. She had every single thing every produced or made by Valerie or featuring her. Valerie was her heroine. When Amanda was growing up, struggling with her homosexual identity, Valerie's positive role model was her everything. Every night she went to sleep dreaming of a romance with her star. And, to be fair, she was a good catch. Amanda had very close cut blonde hair, a few piercings, a few tattoos, enough to send out a strong hint about her orientation. She was also rather beautiful and, to be blunt, sexy. "I am your number one fan! I know everything about you!" she gushed, dropping to her knees and cryinging at Valeries feet...

GM The Black Plunder had momentum, and was powered by more than sail. The galleon had powerful arcane motors, making it seethe through the water, faster than any ship had a right too. And Captain Blood had indeed attached a metal spike to its figure head, long, black, and wet. More than capable of punching a hole in the hull. It always paid to have a back up plan. The blistering barnacles were an unstable, untapped force of nature, and Captain Blood preferred the solidity of old naval warfare. The Conch and the Galleon crashed together like one storm to another. Anyone who was not yet soaked soon was. The collision caused the sea to foam, and it felt like a monsoon on deck. The Black Plunder slowed, inch by inch, until after an agonizing moment, it stopped, the spike ram a few dozen yards from its target. Now, Blood was furious. "I won't forget this, sea-demon! Some day, I shall pull my cutlass on you, and your friends!" He turned to shout at his crew and turn the wheel of his ship. "About then, me hearties! Away, and to oblivion! The Drowned Man will have me soul for this, and I shall rest! But I will beg respite, just for a moon or two, to get me revenge!" Fog bellowed from the cannons of the Plunder, and with unnatural speed and manueverability, it sped off under cover.

The Black plunder has a STR of 55. I guess that, in terms of "bonus" is a + 9 Bonus (9 Ranks of Super Strength) 1d20+9=16 It is stopped! So, at this juncture, Blood is beating a retreat and serving up curses! The air is filled with its Osbcure 8 (visual) power and is sailing off... So, out of combat and I guess it is the beginning of wrap up for you folks, unless you have ideas to the contrary or fancy capturing the Black Plunder! Thoughts and Ideas here? including, if you wish, future thread thoughts / lead ups, and I suppose an underwater HQ or team?

An interview certainly works. I will keep this open for a bit. If it starts with Necromme mind swapping with Wayward that willi mean a ton of HP to Wayward, but also given Necrommes power and resources we probably need another PL 10 or so PC to help out. Any interest? Also: I think this will mean we need the first dozen or so posts just GM / Wayward, setting it up, so fair warning and all Any other ideas speak up!
-
I have been meaning to run a thread featuring Necromme (Occult brain in a jar NPC) for some time. Sounding out you folks if any interest? Ideally looking at PL 10 ish. Maybe just one or two PCs. Slightly favouring investigative, spooky, and human types. Magic background strictly optional. If anyone actually fancies being a distant relative of Necromme (which is possible, he is old old old and it could go back 200 years), that would be very interesting (and HP worthy!)

To the bat boat? Perhaps if you post the above as an IC, and then Lord Steam slips away in his submarine?

GM "Suit yourself" shrugged Torsen, nonchantly. "Ill drive with you, get my deputy, Otis, to drive that heap o junk" he said with a smile. Cord sighed with relief, and rubbed his eyes. Oris was a small man, for a cop, but quick like a snake. His eyes were black and beady, close together. He looked like a crook, but laughed and smiled all the time. He was a nice guy, too, sociable unlike Torsen, and ready to wake Cord up with a big pot of "Mama's special coffee!" and a wink. Cord was too tied to argue or inquire what exactly made it special. He supped it like it was nectar. It was a short flight to the UNISON plane, were the pilot was waiting for them on a cold wet runway. Torsen pulled up beside Otis, Cord, and Blue Jay "Guess this is good bye then, folks. I'll take Otis back. I guess I'll have to swim through a heap o paperwork to find out what happened back there, and who you apprehended, huh?" Cord was to busy "Resting his eyes" to answer.

It was an option at that. Possibly the most sensible option. But...but this was a mystery. And he would be damned if someone was going to match wits with him. As the detectives left, he poured himself a cup of tea and pressed his hands together tightly. A rage was boiling in him. Not an explosive one, but like a steam. Powering him, focussing him. "Blakely. This is one mystery that requires haste and deception both. A challenge, one might say. I have a murder to solve, and I have to do it on the run. A most vexing situation...." His diplomatic immunity would protect him in his manor. It might even be used to bluff his way out of an arrest in the city. But only to someone who didn't know the ins and outs of the law. But it would not protect him for long. "Right then...let us find out about the victim! To the library!"

Illusions, of course! I think you hit the nail on the head when considering the whole "Pychic equilibrium " thing as a complication. Healing is something I often wonder about. I confess having had it on a power I have come to dislike it for my PCs. Thats because I actually quite like a character getting beat up / roughed up and yet striving on heroically anyway. Which I dont get if healing is involved. I have it on mess with the limitation its blood loss / bleeing effects only (so he can get battered to hell still). Personally I think healing works best with some limitations, or the tiring feat, or empathic feat, or something! Still, this is a personal taste thing. I suppose if he is a light master, he could also get things like Nullify (Light), or even Obscure - either Absorbing light (darkness) or white light everywhere (Obscure - light). Or both! Even immunity to light (handy for dazzles and blasts). Perhaps the forcefield could have something like "Second chance: Laser!" on it. Another thought: The secret ID could be useful if he is something like a world class (and he has the skills for that) pilot who works freelance for the military, businesses, or even other heroes. A lot of "Passenger" hooks?
-
I keep think of Catch 22 and Major Major Major Major...or Major Minor... Overall, I think the human with "light bands" feels best. I have a personal preference for human PCs as inevitably they have our brains and we can empathise with them more. As for Cosmic vs Light, I think thats a matter for personal taste. My personal preference is to go for something with a medium range of stunts. If you go too large (Like "Cosmic" or "Reality" or even "Magic") you can end up being practically able to stunt anything, which can be a narrative issue. If you go too small, then you end up inflexible and even boring. "Light" would be interesting. Lasers, Dazzle, and ENvironmental control obviously. EIther as attacks, Touch Range bursts, or Touch range Cones/Lines. Or even Insusbtantial 3 form (Pure light), with a dazzle aura or dazzle "trail effect". Permeate 3 (Limited to transparent objects) if you don't go full Insubstantial. Sense dependent Nauseate (Strobe effects), Concealment, etc. IMmunity to flash-dazzle visual effects [2PP]. Essentially you have a nice range of powers with a theme. Need [skill check] has historically been an issue, if your skill is above 10. Unreliable (works half the time) is a limitation, if you have a skill bonus of 14 you are buying the same but with only a 30% chance of failure. I would have thought smashing the bonds together to activate them could be an amusing hook (and drawback / complication) if you were handcuffed...but hey, not original? Maybe not being able to "activate" them in total darkness. If you are looking to shave points I would suggest losing impervious (to later) and pumping those points into the main array to give it some more ooomph.
