Good point. Sorry about that, Foreshadow, scratch that as a miss. Edits made to IC, including Blonsky hijacking a Luge, and then Synapse is up.

GM The Athlete took the blow solidly, his balloon muscles flexing from the shock. His eyes started to roll, but then snapped back. "<No pain. Just obey>" he snapped like a reflex, trying to shake the cobwebs to swing the rifle, like a club, clumsily, at Foreshadow. He was fast, he was strong, and he knew what he was doing. But all the brainwashing in the world couldn't help his brain snap back to full power after Foreshadow's blow. Any other man would have crumpled in a heap. "<NO PAIN. JUST OBEY>" repeated the other athlete, clambering up, his eyes glazed from Synapses psionic attack. The gunfire was less wild this time, shooting overhead. Only a grunt came from the huge athlete, as he tried to bring his eyes to a more normal position. Blonsky was back on track, however. Quite literally. He ran towards the nearest 2 man luge, kicked off the back man and stuck a gun at the temple of the first man. "Get going! Luge like you have never Luge'd before. Your life depends on it!"

GM Again, Gold was lucky, wobbling with his own power, pulsing like a pump, the arrow only nicked him as he swayed this way and that, only staying upright due to the huge surge of power in him. "A lot of fight, yes, crusader" he replied, steadily. "I care for my family, I care for everyone, and the mission too...what do you fight for? America?" he asked. He wasn't quite sneering, but he did look dismissive. "I admire the soldier, the commitment in you. But, ultimately, we are only unwitting tools to those higher up. Think for yourself, soldier. I have..." Another sucking feeling, and another wave of power exploded forth from Gold, rending air, stone and snow as it flew from him.

Another Full Blast of Power, this time a cone, directed at Jay - Again, its a Damage 15 Area Affect (DC 25 Reflex, and then, given evasion, a DC 23 toughness effect or avoid!)

GM The mighty fist of Wave-Eye pounded into the Barnacle Golem with another crunching sound. The Golem was magic, that much was clear - no normal sea barnacle would have felt so strong, strong like iron. But once they shattered, they shattered true. Another gritty explosion of sound and shell splinters, again spraying the room. Again, once the barnacles fell apart, another guest lay convulsing on the floor, the core to the shell of barnacles. A middle aged woman, most likely a guest, was foaming at the mouth, turning blue, and shooting off myoclonic jerks. As Wave Eye brought his fist back, he saw a glimpse of barnacles on his knuckles, attached their firmly, and now creeping over his hand, multiplying and crawling...

Edits Made 1d20+10=12 Another Golem is staggered i.e. shattered, and another dying body on the floor However Wave Eye has some barnacles climbving up his hand which means a Snare DC 15 Attack! (The Golems has a snare 5 aura effect) As Crew are time stopped we move straight to HG Morrison and Glamazon!

Thanks for that. A few niggles: Attack Focus I think is ranged could you notate it so: Attack Focus (Ranged) 6 You could, if you wish amalgamate Immunity as Immunity 10 (Starvataion and Thirst, Life Support). No need to, but it might keep it cleaner. Teleport I make 21 PP - still under budget, but there you go. You could add another rank to that. Flight 1 needs reformatting (shifted left!) Note that Move Object can be bought "above caps", i.e. above rank 10, but onlly for the purposes of lifting. For combat, it will be rank 10 (as per house rules).

Honestly, I am not sure about a permanent alternate form and those drawbacks. On the face of it, permanent alt form means you are stuck in that form, period and this will not fly, but I am referring to the refcave for opinions on this. Sorry for delay.
-
OK: All looks good except powers: Alternate Form, as a container, is either permanent or sustained. This is not particularly well notated on the sheet and doesn't add up. I suggest looking at some other PCs with Alternate Form to get an idea. The container itself may have permanent powers in it, which indicates that those powers cannot be turned on or off (or stunted) - or rather, they can only be turned off when the entire alternate form goes off. So, I think your alternate form as written adds up to 84 PP. This would be a container Alternate form 16.8 (84PP) costing 84 PP. However, adding continuous to this is an extra, +1 PP per rank of Alternate Form (rounded up) for an additional 17 PP. Of course you could have alternate form as a sustained power. (Yes, I know this makes alternate form expensive...) The powers within the alternate form look ok, although you do need to tidy up the individual powers, again take a look at a few sheets for ideas. Some of the costs are wrong too (Flight 1 Continuous would cost 3 PP for instance) DC Block - Fort Save for Disintergrate will be 11 for aura, and 16 for the attack. I am not sure what the "+4" and "+10" figures are doing there! Finally, The Drawbacks - Involuntary transformation I guess means will come up every adventure (on average) and a DC 10 roll to resist the transformation? (From UP), and one way transformation means a couple of hours to get back to normal? That sounds like what you have written anyway both in terms of fluff and points.

Hmmm, that is true, I was dictating that as just poetic speech rather than he is free to act. What would you like to do? edit or let it fly due to spooky ghost time? (still incapacitous, just spectrally talking)

recruitment Various plots that have been sitting in the back of my mind.

This all looks very interesting, HG, good to see this post! I had a vague idea for Lord Steam which ties into one or two of your ideas, so I will throw this past you - he is framed for murder and there is a warrant for his arrest. However, as his mansion is effectively an embassy, he can hide out there, at least until the politicians come to some agreement (i.e. to eject him to the care of Freedom Cities police). So essentially he has to solve the murder on the run. Pretty similar to the above, although with the added dimension of diplomatic immunity. EDIT: Also, sharks are cool. Feel free to use sharktopus NPC, I only wish I had a marine PC! -
GM The orbs smashed into the Barnacle Golem, all eight feet of white and grey blisters. The sound was bad enough, like a crackling explosion of shell. But the spray of gritty shell fragments that filled the air was worse. More than a few passengers got a graze or a but of grit in their eye. The Barnacles had collapsed, loosing all form and shape. The ones that had not been shattered or swept away simply fell off, spinning and crunching. In the centre of the Barnacles was a young man - who looked like a waiter for the entertainment hall - who promptly rolled his eyes and collapsed on the floor, convulsing with a seizure and foaming at the mouth.

The Golems are fearless (as a result of stupidity rather than bravery), so intimidate is ineffective. They are also not particularly fast: Defence is +8, so that hits (although only just) I make that a toughness DC 24 Roll, and, whilst tough... 1d20+10=13 shattered! I am ruling that this shatters the barnacle golem, and releases the convulsing and dying guest passenger! Wave Eye is up!

Please tag. Yes, Ace is a straight up odious guy. A few banter and intro posts, and then we are going to hit the disaster, if thats ok!

GM Friday 23rd May, in the afternoon some time... The Subway, somewhere running North into the Centre of Freedom City... At this time, before rush hour, the subway train was only half full, if that. Who where the unfortunate souls to take that train, on that day, at that time? A stressed out businessman, with flecks of white hair, and a hoarse voice trying, fruitlessly to get his mobile to operate underground, and to wipe the sweat of his brow. A young mother and her baby boy, only a few years old, smiling as she plays peek-a-boo A smiling old man, white haired and dark skinned, tapping his foot to some half-hummed jazz tune. Two girls, giggling to themselves over some shared secret, who looked suspiciously like they were playing truant from the last part of school. An unkempt man, possibly a beggar, keeping his head down and mumbling to himself, restless, and disturbed. Maybe suffering with some disorder of the mind. And... "Hey speccy-spaccy! what ya doin' here? Cant get enough of ya head being flushed down the toilet, huh?" Ace was your jock, a tall, blonde, muscular guy with a cruel sneer and big jaw that somehow exuded an attraction, of sorts, to both guys and girls of his age. His wingman was only slightly shorter, and had that faint hint of insecurity, hanging onto the tails of the alpha male. And "Speccy-Spaccy"? James King, a guy whom the fates had not be kind to. Thick glasses, bad skin, and the mildest of cerebral palsy that made him clumsy. In another world, maybe James would be blessed with a phenomenal intelligence, but alas, James was an ok student, maybe even above average, but he was not a phenomena. "Luh---leave me alone---Ace----" said the damp haired James, fear gripping him in sweat and a tremor. "Leave him alone, he says...hahaha!" laughed Ace at his wingman. "Hey buddy, I can't do that, you are my friend!" he said, all evil grinning. And who else on that fateful day? None other than Cho Paige Lee and Georgia Montgomery!

GM "Vanguard? Honestly, I don't know. In the last years before they vanished, their were...tensions..." he said, frowning, not at displeasure of the question but of what it brought up. "All behind closed doors, of course. Even with my clearance I never knew exactly what happened. Vanguard became progressively more fractious, secretive. A lot of that was due to Crabs..I mean Headcases increasing paranoia. But Champion, for all his public bravado, was an anxious man, prone to panic and insecurity. Lucy Diamond was pretty loopy at the best of times, and Y Dderwen, well he was a mysterious fellow. Just how long has he been prowling England? and why did he only reveal himself recently in our history?" He sighed. "But the cyborg guards? I don't know. Whoever shut up the Haven, if it was Champion, was clearly determined that nobody should get in again..."

GM One of the Athletes was on his knees, in the snow and empty shell casing, looking cross eyed. There was no doubt these brainwashed men had a fury of purpose rattling in their heads, but despite all efforts they could not resist the power of Synapse. But only one had fallen. The other blazed with a kind of ecstasy at the thought of a tussle with Foreshadow. He hefted his Assault rifle, spent of bullets, and used it like a cricket bat, knocking Foreshadow heavily as the two men clashed like knights with lances. Blonsky was blissfully unaware of the bone crushing frenzy, sliding with what might pass for grace down the slopes of snow and ice, gripping his gun and propelling himself, partly from the force of Foreshadows previous kick. The slope was gentle, for now. But as he rolled to a stop, he heard a whistle blow from an official. "<Security! Get this man off the luge track!>" roared an indignant Olympic official.

incidentally I think I screwed up on Blonskys Save back there...it was a DC 20 Tough Save, he rolled 13, so just bruised and dazed. So Blonsky is up, just bruised, and he is going to tumble down to the luge course. Im going to say tumbling and sliding means a reflex DC 15 Save to avoid a DC 15 Toughness save. Not too nasty, but these things can hurt sometimes...1d20+6=19 and he slides down without a hitch. Synapse is up next!

Beefcake 1, who is as yet unharmed, will swing his rifle as an improvised weapon on to Foreshadow. Beefcake 2 is dazed and will not act! 1d20+8=28 ouch! a critical hit! Damage is 6 (strength) 2 (IMprov weapon) 5 (crit hit) so a DC 28 Toughness save!
