GM Scanning the small group of Welshmen, Young Brittania spied a couple of faces that looked familiar, although she could not place them. It had been years ago, when she was but a child. And time had aged the faces, and in some cases the bodies. For all the charm of a rustic lifestyle, it also weathered the skin. But one face she was pretty sure she knew. Stevie Strings...that's what they called him anyway. He could play the guitar beautifully, and he sang like a strangled goat. Whilst he loved to do both, he always needed encouragement to pluck the former and silence the latter. He was a friendly old guy, white haired, white bearded, thin and stooped now, but still with a far away smile on his face and a cheerful aura. Perhaps his face was a little too far away sometimes...courtesy of a mushroom diet, but despite his addled brain, he was a well respected, well liked, and all round happy guy.

"Nothing yet" said Sunset, stamping her feet and hugging herself. She wasn't made for such climes, she told herself. She had grown up in Sunny America, and born from the heat of Delhi. "I can only pick up the past, not the present. You go back in the past here, and you just get a lot of snow, cold, and a low hanging sun. If there is a sun at all..." she explained. "And...well....I don't really know how far I can go back. Never tried it past a few decades. I get, well, fainter, as it goes back. Like I stop being me..." I always got ya, honeychild! whispered the Radical in her head. Perhaps it was true. Her own psychic abilities were nothing compared to the powerful mind of the anarchic man in her suit. Perhaps he would give her the strength to go back further, if need be. Still...it felt like drowning when she went to far. As though the elastic cord that kept her in the present became stretched and thin.

Rene stroked his beard, feeling naked and fragile without the Iron Ring, forged from the basest of metals, born of Nercomancers he had defeated many years ago. Without it, his bones and flesh would snap like any other man's. He was, in truth, a helpless old man. Well, maybe not totally helpless. As he pondered the state of affairs, he felt a nagging sense of something unnatural, odd. And perhaps, familiar. "There is always ze bigger fish" replied Rene to the King of Suits. "Some portray themselves as strong, some as weak. I find ze latter is ze better way. I don't make a tasty meal..." he said, casting eyes around. "But still, I feel something amiss here, as if I was a meal. As if something is watching..."

GM "A city chick, huh?" said Marcus as the food arrived. He seemed to be enjoying himself, at least, trying to get to know Dancia with a a barage of questions left right and centre. Was it genuine interest or just a reporters natural drilling? He did seem a little distracted, however, and half way through the meal his eyebrows sprang up and his eyes lit. "Heads up, see? over there? don't turn around....just take a look when you can. Tall thin guy, glasses, white hair, linen suit..." he said quietly, looking over her shoulder. There was indeed such a man, wearing dark glasses, entering the restaurant with what could only be described as a bodyguard - a taller, heavier man with a thick set neck. "Doctor Dharmesh Singh. He's a chemical engineer, one of the best. Rumour has it he and his boss are breaking all sorts of environmental and safety laws in the city at their plant. All sorts of stuff. I had to get a look at him...he's a secretive guy buy always comes here for his favourite cuisine..." He stopped briefly, giving Dancia a wink. "You are a good cover, Dancia. And a good reporter. And aside from anything else, I get to drink your beauty whilst working!"

GM M had arranged a mutually convenient meeting point. As it so happened, London Bridge. He was waiting in a magnificent black taxi, the classic that both heroes were familiar with in their own Dimension's London, albeit one with steam pouring from its exhaust and a few copper and brass tubes whistling away. "Ah there you" are he said gruffly and shortly. He did not seem in a particularly good mood. He had two burly coppers by his side, with neat blue uniforms and copper plated stun rods at their belt, the origin of their name. It appeared the devices were powered up by a rotatory handle, then good for a nasty shock. "Got Ned Ludd, I hear" he said, nodding at Cannonade. "And this Dr DeRombert fellow...well, well. Interesting. I will enjoy his company" he said bleakly to Carrie.- 100 replies

And the James Bond chase through the snow is up! So, we have two Blonsky Beefcakes with assault rifles and skis in the way, and Blonsky himself, climbing on to his own snowmobile. Also, we may have mines... Lets start off with some initiative rolls please! For now, we shall say Blonsky heard/saw you about 200 feet away. The trees on the course give partial cover. Technically it is a cold environment, but that will not be bothering you on this time scale. Also, if you are not on skis or snowmobile, the ground is snowy (-25% movement speed). Finally, we are in a Russian Olympic Games! There may be bystanders (watchers, officials, other athletes, Edward himself back down the course heading towards a mine), and of course you can deviate to ski slopes, the louge, the ice rink, whatever takes you fancy! HP available for particularly mad things like doing ski jumps without skis! Blonsky is a very experienced ex KGB, Special Forces guy so he is a badass normal. Not pumped up like the goons. However, all are lowish power threats, and not minions. Blonsky Initiative: 1d20+6=18 Beefcakes Initiative: 1d20+3=20 Finally, there is a mine on the course under the snow. I'll give that a DC 15 to spot, but -5 to that if you are on a speeding Snowmobile!

GM The snowmobile swam through the snow with might acceleration, as Dee turned it left and right, following the course at unhealthy speeds. The course twisted, and trees threatened to unhorse the two heroes, clutched together like lovers. With violent turns, snow was thrown up in a stylish flurry. Unfortunately, it was also noisy. With a start, Blonsky turned to see the snowmobile heading their way. "You...you...stop them!" he said to the two musclemen on ski's by his side. The spandex clad athletes turned on their skis and unslung their weapons, the classic AK 47 Russian Assault rifles. "Do not let them get me! You know your orders!" barked Blonsky as he hurried to his own Snowmobile... The chase was on!

GM Dr Morsi couldn't help but chuckle. A bitter chuckle, but not without mirth. "A nuclear device? Is that what you were told? Haha..haha..." he laughed coldly. "I suppose it is true, after a fashion. I imagine you are thinking of some nuclear dirty bomb. Or maybe a missile with a pointy tip? Perhaps, if you are feeling more modern, an EMP device?" "The future, however, is not with the big. It with the small. It is with the unseen. Nuclear power can be minaturised. It can be coded. My work is dangerous, to be sure..." Asad could see pinpoints of light glowing on his body, flaring. "...but it works. Even if it kills you..." Dr Asad fell to the floor, his body giving off a few myoclonic jerks as it did, his eyes rolling backwards to become pure white. The brightness flared again, and then, out of his now comatose body, from the pinpoints of light, arose a fully formed, glowing man, Dr. Morsi's shadow, risen from his slumped body, made of pure energy. "You see?" said the distorted voice. "A weapon. My Fission Chips! Nuclear reactors so small, they are the size of a simple silicon chip. Coded to bioenergy and brain waves, able to project out this!" he said, displaying his energy form proudly. "And now, my friend, I have no wish to suffer the indignities of prodding, poking, interrogation...or worse. Leave now, or I will melt your brain!"

GM Carl was frightened and angry all at once. Despite the cool dry dusk, he was sweating. He couldn't outrun King of Suits anyway, and he had run himself into a corner. "Like I'm gonna listen to you, cape!" he shouted back, flicking his fingers of the heavy Glock in his hand. "I'm going down like, forever, if the cops get me. And I ain't going back to prison, no way. You can scrape my cold corpse off the pavement before that happens!" "And even if I talk...I'm still going six feet under. The city doesn't like talkers, doesn't like them breathing. Only difference is, I go slow and nasty rather than fast" "So cut the talk, man. Spare me that. I heard all that jibber jabber before, and it ain't worth nothin'" he said, working himself up into a frenzy. "Lets do this!" For all his fear, Carl had been in the army and knew his way around a gun. And a big gun it was. And anybody could always get a lucky shot...

OOC for thread. On discussion with Ari, the kicker is going to be King getting shot badly, a lucky bullet. Hence, he straight off gets a hero point, staggered, bruised, and injured! We can also play a degree of internal bleeding. King now needs medical intervention. Every few hours he gets another fatigued condition from blood loss (and a hero point!) King of Suits - 3 HP - Staggered, Injured, Bruised

So, feel free to narrate a mind control on the officials to get the medical snowmobile. Otherwise go for a DC 15 Diplomacy roll. (Of course feel free to steal it, or grab it from the military...I just thought this was the most likely choice!) If you are racing away, can the driver give me a Driving roll...if there are two of you on one bike. If you are both grabbing one, both give me a roll! DC 10 to avoid crashing in the race to save Edward!

GM Mere moments later... "A snowmobile? Are you the mad?" said the Paramedic, as he put his hand over his snowmobile protectively. It was the obvious choice: accidents happened on ski slopes, not often, but often enough. And when they did, the paramedic teams had a couple of snowbikes and slower mobiles to scoot away to the rescue. Today looked like it would see an accident of historic proportions. Was it coincidence that Blonsky had chosen this year to cheat with his pumped up athletes? It was fortunate, that was for sure. Any explosion or assassination could easily be put down to terrorism in the wake of the highly tense political situation. "We cannot just give these away! They are for the medical teams!" protested the man. He was being slightly precious, of course - they had more than enough (barring a full scale terrorist attack). The only other option would be the security services at the games, who would not give away anything other than a pair of handcuffs delivered straight to the wrists.

GM "What's this?" said Captain Blood as Tsunami came forward. "You cannot harm me, m'lady! I live for the sea, I live in it! I seen strange depths and stranger tides than you could ever imagine! Throw me storm, throw me wave, throw me a tsunami! I'll live through it, never you fear! Nothing can touch me!" he laughed, swishing his spectral sword to and fro, revelling in his ghostly status. His face was shock as the wave of time swept through the Entertainment hall. Sammy Smooth, the now ruffled showman of mediocre talent but sparkly suit, gasped in fear at it rumbled over him. "What! No! Pity! Mercy! Save me, I can't die yet I haven't...." his voice was cut short as he yelped out his fear, his throat as frozen as the rest of him. "Not water? What have you..." said the surprised Captain Blood, whose spectral form was now as just as still.

I am going to say the passengers all get effected because...well just because I think powers like that should effect bystanders! THe same for the Skeleton Crew. 1d20+6=9 Blood is effected. 1d20+6=26, 1d20+6=9, 1d20+6=16 one of the Barnacle Golems is frozen, two remain moving. Post that away - I would guess that the Golems resist from some type of spooky magic narratively, rather than "dodging".

Spicy - my inclination is this: The details can be hammered out easy enough, but a lot depends on what your preference is in terms of style for a RPG (I called this "agenda"). If you fancy taking on Pitch (and GMing Tazel), you could do a story heavy melodrama, something heavy heavy about gangs, friendships, relationships. Sunset could do a thread about a brain echo (like echoing somebody who dies, and having the voice in her head guide through the complexities of what happened and their living relationships). Long term or short term plans could be made. But underneath, I think it has to be something you would enjoy GMing. both for kickers and other more regular threads, but I tend to know my agenda - story heavy, conflict heavy, but not a tactical combat affair. So in essence, flavour first, details later
-
THe column of barnacles has spat out three crew guests covered in barnacles and now under Captain Bloods Control! They are covered in billions of barnacles, coloured blue, which are cause blisters!

I approve of this thread! Well done Spicy, GMing is the lifeblood of this site and the most valuable contribution. Ill bat some ideas around for my PCs if you would like and depending on what flavour you are interested in.

Looks interesting. Ill give a few heads up opinions from scanning it. firstly....the biggest balls up in 2e is enhanced traits as continuous which is totally against the internal logic of the system. The problem is that sustained duration doesnt really qualify as a flaw for traits. Whilst sometimes, eg for constitution they are used reactively this is the exception. Flaw sustained is a bit like saying I cant use them when...I cant maintain a free action and thus couldnt use them anyway. Problem ahoy. flaw sunlight is unlikely to fly. It is too common. An argument could be made for regeneration but not for immunity to sleep or starvation...which take a few days to kick in anyway. A complication. Finally one eyed cyclops, whilst poetic, is perhaps not the best terminology to describe a disabled character...

Any more interest in this? I was wondering about some supervillains pitching up to play...(cricket, not fighting...)

GM Doctor DeRombert was clearly surprised at Carries moves. He was actually a capable fighter, it seemed, perhaps a military background. What was more surprising was that the man, past his prime, had the same exceptional strength of the Puttymen he had fooled into his service. A strength of a man half his age, and an exceptionally strong man at that. His limbs did have a horrible wiry power in them. His surprise was born of both Carries agility and her gender. His fury was born primarily of the latter. "Her majesties government? Some kind of spy?" he spluttered. "One of M's little toys, no doubt! I know of him. One of the finest minds in the empire. If only he put his brain to science!" he said through gritted teeth. "No doubt you learned some Bartitsu, some cheating Japanese trick, no doubt! very well, if the government wants me, I will come quietly..." he said, angry and humiliated, gazing daggers at Carrie all the while.- 100 replies

GM Mr. Gold turned round, shocked at both the fact anyone was nearby, and the fact that someone had sneaked up on him quite as a mouse. "No! No! Get away! Run! Flee!" he jabbered, holding out his hands. "It's getting worse...every time...like a pressure inside me I can't control. Every time, bigger and bigger!" he said, almost screaming at Jay. "UNISON cant help me, nobody can! It's...like a damn, bursting...." he shouted, clawing his head in his hands. "Who am I? What am I? I have memories, coming back, and every time, with an unleash of power....I'm like the old testament!" he moaned, sweeping his arms around the crater that had formed around me. "Please! You have to run! I'm...here now, safe, nobody around! sooner or later, the cold will get me, and it will be the end of me..." he moaned. He did indeed look ill - thin, haggard, with signs of frostbite and exposure.
