  1. Lets go with that! Can you give me an opposed grapple roll? 1d20+14=27
  2. Ouch thats nasty! Do you want to post, or plan a scene cut?
  3. We back on? (nice to have you back!)
  4. GM "It is perfect! Perfect I tell you!" ranted Doctor DeRombert, steam pouring from his ears. "The world has no time for refinement anyway! Look around you! Luddites! Womens liberation! Only England and France can stop the masses from succumbing to madness!" "The world is on the brink, and I will pull it back! Order! Unity! France and England, merged as one! And it will not stop there...Germany, Russia...even the halls of the Vatican itself! The world must have one government...or war...famine!" he shook his head. "No, no, the time for the Putty is now. The poor Luddites pounced on this like fools, never knowing it was I who was pulling their strings! If I can achieve the domination of them in but a few weeks, imagine what I can do with months or years! All politicians can be replaced by my puttymen!" "And you will not stop me!" he concluded, advancing towards Carrie with a handful of putty in each hand...
  5. Carmen felt the narcotic haze fog her brain. But something about Tazel made her brain itch. A dull itch, to be sure, with the opiate cloud she swam in. Her relationship to Tazel, of all demons, was complex. As were demons. She had met plenty who were not, outright, evil. It was more that they were deceptive, wrong, an aberration on the fabric of reality. She was never to trust them, and yet, Tazel...bound tightly, a slave to the Cantos bloodline, could not help but press buttons in her. Responsibility, maybe. In any case, if Tazel was in trouble, so was she. "I'm a bad girl, I can handle bad boys fine.." she muttered, slurred speech. "But this bad boy...that's another matter..." Who was the nurse referring to? She had her suspicions. She bit her tongue to wake herself up, and grabbed the nurses sleeve. "Who was he? What did he look like?" she said, doing her best to focus on the woman, the sharp but dull pain in her mouth pulling her head up over the water of painkillers.
  6. I would build that differently then, either as subtle 2 or as something like concealment (all senses), extra: continuous, limited 2 (limited to magic detection) for 10 PP. Of course, like most things in M&M there are more than one way to cut the mustard. (And of course you may wish concealment to function on just some detect magic sense modalities). You may wish passive on that continuous too, of course (her magic cannot be detected normally - although the magical attacks can).
  7. My personal opinion is that you dont have to pay for those Null glasses at all, Roo. 15 PP to switch off a power? I would just call this a complication. She has to wear "null glasses" to block out painful detection powers. And, unlike other supersenses, her magic vision is on all the time. I suppose they could technically be useful, if you tricked someone else into wearing them who happened to have the same powers, but honestly, I don't think this needs any PP at all - just spice it up as a complication. At the very most a 1 PP device or something. Unless I have understood wrongly!
  8. Sorry these guys are Super Secret Russian Agents from decades back!
  9. GM Captain Blood was initially shocked as Glamazon burst forward and started rearranging the furniture. "Well then, four of you is it? On another day I would turn tail and flee. I know when I'm outnumbered. Me crew serve me well enough, but are no match for mighty mariners like yerself, I'll admit it!" he retorted, waving his cutlass lazily through the air. As it swished to and fro, a ghostly chill was left in its wake. "But today be no ordinary day! Today be a day for drowning! I have been given a power from the far depths, me hearties! A new power, a new crew! behold! behold!" As he spoke, the Barnacle column convulsed, and split, shards of shell thundering around the entertainment hall and showering all - bar Captain Blood himself. The dust like shell fragments just flew through him, and settled under him. And then, with a creak and a groan, the barnacle column spat out three of the passengers, fully encrusted with thick barnacles, so they looked more like white and grey monsters than human beings.
  10. That is indeed a miss! Bloods Initiative: 1d20+1=21 Skelingtons Initiative: 1d20+0=6 Blistering Barnacles Initiative: 1d20=10 Round 1 22 - Tsunami - 2 HP 21 - Captain Blood - Unharmed 19 - Temperance - 3 HP 11 -Wave Eye - 1 HP 10 - Crew [10] - unharmed 9 - Glamazon - 1 HP 6 - ? Barnacles - unharmed Tsunami is up!
  11. GM A few minutes later... Said Thai Restaurant... "You look beautiful, by the way" smiled Marcus as he half studied the Menu. He appeared to know what he was ordering, and appeared to make a snap decision - Phad Thai with Red Chicken Curry. He bounced a few ideas of Dancia, giving recommendations politely. "So, I seen you about the office. Made quite an impression, on me anyway!" he smiled. "Where do you come from? How long you been in Freedom City?" he asked, expressing genuine interest. He supped at a beer in a savoury way, neither gushing it down his throat or pecking at it with tiny sips. He had that kind of average build, neither fat nor skinny. He clearly enjoyed food and drink, that much was sure. Any fat on him had certainly not landed on his face, which was cut like a models. "You don't strike me as the shy type" he said, shrugging slightly. "Tell me about yourself!"
  12. APPROVED!
  13. Welcome to the site. I would advise this goes to Character Building - where most of us toss around ideas before it is formally submitted. I haven't moved it as yet, but it would probably be a good idea. Looking at the crunch here there are some problems (unsurprisingly, there always are!), but the first thing to mention: given your description, it looks like his powers should be built as an alternative form with the one-way transformation disability. As it is, I suppose he can use his non insubstantial blast fly powers even in normal kid mode? As for the powers - I am not sure why he needs diosntegration and flight outside of the array? Flight I can get due to teleportation (although you may wish a dynamic array instead). Swimming isn't really needed as we use UP version of flight that works underwater. 1 Rank of Disintegration is a bit odd outside of the array. Now for the bad news - Disintegration! As it is Boost is not allowed in arrays as per house rules - for fairly obvious reasons: You boost up, get the nice new power, then flip over to another power whilst still having all the lovely boost effects. Secondly, you have costed Disintegration wrong for the aura and indeed the blast. As per UP, it costs 5 PP/Rank. Essentially it is built as a ranged damage (2 PP/Rank) linked with a ranged drain toughness with effect objects extra (3 PP/Rank). Which also means that any extra's you put on it need to be costed for both powers. Disintegrate 6 thus costs 30 PP. For the Aura - its a corrosion aura. Here it gets extremely costly (and with good reason as it is incredibly powerful). If you are talking a sustained aura it would be 9 PP/Rank. Damage linked with Sustained [+2] and Aura [+1] for 4PP/Rank, plus Drain linked with affects objects [+1], Sustained [+2], and Aura [+1] fior 5PP/Rank. If you want to make it a continuous duration it goes up to 11 PP/Rank.
  14. Ok answered IC, going for the dual approach as suggested by Ari. Roo -> you have a few hours in the interim to craft, research or even invent if you want to. Let me know where you want to lay a trap either here or IC, and I will proceed to a scene cut!
  15. GM... Not so long later... "The odds are good! Success!" said Blackpool. Around Ospreys left wrist was a small wristwatch with a readout that blinked slowly, numbers slowly counting down from the thousands. "The level of pheremone in your blood" explained Blackpool. "Introduces via viral retrovirus. It will break down soon enough, as your immune system disposes of the virus and your liver breaks down the pheremone. But it should be at a good strength for today, at least. It will be less effective as the week progresses, until eventually your body will reject the pheremone altogether. Which I think will be harmless" he coughed. "And here, a sample of concentrated pheremone" he gave to Jasmine. It was a small pressurised aerasol can. "Enough for three of four liberal applications, I should guess. The only problem here is that it is unstable outside of living organisms. Wont last more than a few minutes, but it will be ten times stronger than the low levels Osprey is emitting..."
  16. GM With a bang of a starter pistol, Edward was off, making good pace. With the Russians out of the game, he actually stood an outside chance of a medal. The Swedes and Norwegians had top men competing, and would almost certainly battle it out for Gold and Silver. The Bronze was up for the taking - there was no doubt that Edward would have competition, but he was not outmatched. As he sped away, making good time gliding through the snow, Foreshadow was struck by another vision, again, of Edwards demise. Further down the track, two of Blonsky's buffed goons were waiting in the snow, faces fixed with concentration and devotion. With them, Blonsky himself. The track official seemed to have stopped, his face blank. "They got us into this... They can get us out..." muttered Blonsky. He snapped his fingers in front of the track official who continued to gaze into oblivion. "I have to hand it to the Sleeper, he is well named..." he chuckled. Into the snow...into the track, Blonsky placed what could only be an old Russian Army Mine... .... It hardly took any special power to see what would happen next, but Foreshadow saw it anyway....Edward Farrington, skiing straight over a mine in the snow...
  17. Doctor Jane Johnson rattled around in Sam's head. She recalled the doctor from the UNISON briefing. A tall, elegant middle aged lady with bright thoughtful eyes, saying little but watching much. The Radical knew plenty of medicine, even psychiatry, but for this one, they wanted someone with real expertise. Doctor Johnson had specialised in researching the effects of isolation on group and individual dynamics. Perfect for this jaunt. When she had asked to copy Doctor Johnson, she had been reluctant at first. With gentle explanation, and impressing on her the importance of her expertise, she had agreed, with some trepidation. And now she could feel the faintest echo of Doctor Johnson in her head, inaudible, but for the sensation of cogs turning, scientific analysis rumbling. Doctor Johnson was smart enough to leave a strong imprint, hopefully one that would not become distracting. The Sunsetsuit was all black, tight, and fluttering with orange light as the Radical moved in it. It was also underneath a thick layer of insulating clothing. And a thicker layer over that. Arctic survival would have been a trick she would liked to have stolen, but unfortunately it was one mind at a time. And it was cold. Bitter cold that would eat through her bones if she was out here too long.
  18. GM "Neurologist? Confounding variables? Test Retention?....why.,..I...it's plain common sense...I...I mean...it is self - evident that the female...uh...that is...the art of Phren...I mean the science of Phrenology...it clearly shows..." "Pfah!" he spat out, livid at the questions. "I don't need to debate such nonsense with you, madam! I have developed a medical wonder! An artificial flesh! An elixir! A way to control...I mean...direct...I mean...guide....humanity and Europe to a new age. Why, but for some minor side effects such as psychosis and death, my putty is perfect!" he finished, bursting with rage. "What right have you to come in here and question me, Madam! Why, if you were not a woman, I would strike you, most hard!"
  19. Great I will go with that then. Presuming there is a top rate UNISON behavioural specialist with 8 Ranks in Diplomacy, Sense Motive, and Knowledge [behavioural Sciences], she will copy said brain and spend 4 PP of mimic array thus: Thats 6 PP down the chute, but hey, thats mimic for ya! :)
  20. Thats a kicker for sure! One point is I dont know or have the stats for those super criminals, so that may be a problem if I GM. I love the idea of getting shot though. A trail of blood, needing medical assistance, down and dirty in the Fens. All awesome. Maybe this can be a street type thread, with some regular Joes coming to Kings aid (or selling him out) when some crooks start coming round door to door threatening people?
  21. OK I have made a lot of changes to formatting to make it look a bit neater (I hope). We aren't super pedantic over this stuff but the micro font was a little painful on the eyes! I hope the changes were to your satisfaction. On close examination: Playing Cards has a problem: It has a +8 attack bonus but Drake only has +2 base attack bonus. As per house rules, need 1/3 of total attack bonus to come from base. Concealment will not need Accurate 2 - it affects anyone who wants to be concealed! DC Block could do with tidying up but not vital. You should probably add the mind control reflex sace (DC 18 Will and Reflex). Snare Constriction (ouch!) is DC 19 Toughness. Everything else looks good to me.
  22. My scan: Magic Sword Bracelets may need a feat to the device if they look like normal bracelets and turn into swords (essentially a subtle - like feat) Null Glasses: No Saving Throw always gets looked at carefully - I suspect this would not be allowed but I cannot say for sure. I presume the selective feat on paralyse means you can choose to paralyse certain body parts and not others? which is cool. YOu may want the reversible feat on this of course. The cylinder areas I always thought a bit strange, but totally legal! Nullify would be 5 PP / Rank. (2 Base, +1 Area, +1 Duration, +1 Selective)
  23. GM "What? Who?" scratched the police officer, taking his hat off to wind his fingers through his locks. Then he snapped his fingers. "Ah yes! Synapse! From the Ministry of Powers!" His voice and build were of a robust good natured Welshman, all rolling hills and pleasant air. "Sergeant Bowen, at your service, miss!" he smiled cheerfully through the damp drizzle. "Well, we got these boyos here, still pretty shocked and angry. Don't blame them either, something crazy went on here. I don't rightly know if it was just some traveller ruckus or, well, something else. They keep rambling on about Lucy Diamond, see. All sparkles and madness. Damned if I know if its true or not. Every week some boyo claims he has seen one of the Vanguard, but truth is we haven't seen hide or hair of them, have we?" he said, sadly. "Maybe they are telling tales, maybe not. We had dead and injured, arson, murder. These travellers can be an angry lot, you see miss, do their fair share of scrapes and fighting. But this is something else..." "One word of warning, miss, they aren't too fond of police, and aren't too fond of the English, either. So prepare yourself for a steel wall and spitting!" "What now?" yelled out the leader of the Travellers, a stick thin man with long hair, grey beard, and knuckles that had seen a few chins up close and personal. "There he is" sighed Sergeant Bowen. "Charlie Cornog, old man of the group. Spitting mad, he is!" To emphasise the point, Charlie gave an impressive throw of phlegm from his mouth that cannoned into the ground. "Oi! Piggy! If you cant find that Lucy, and arrest her for what she did, then stay the hell away!"
  24. Huzzah! If there is time and availability, seeing as Sunset is checking up on mental health, can she borrow a proper psychiatrists mind before hand and get Behavioural Sciences 8 (+10) from her mimic array?
  25. This looks good to me - not the previous build was bad, its just this one seems better A few notes: Challenge (Sense Motive: Reading a situation) Challenge (Sleight of hand: Preform Sleight of hand at extended range) Improved Trick I think these come from Masterminds Manual? (I don't know, I don't have it). They sound pretty cool, but as the site works on UP and Corebook as the rule set, it would be good to maybe asterix these and put the explanation of what they do in a spoiler box. Performing Sleight of Hand and Move action to free from bonds are both easy enough to condense as you have done. "Reading a Situation" - I don't know what that means! (it seems to be part of the default/core rules on Sense Motive?) the only power there I would scratch my head about here is concealment. Making things visually disappear (with smoke, mirrors, or other special effects) seems reasonable. Even olfactory or auditory at a push. Not sure how stage magic would help against radars or even mental senses. A psychic could surely still mind sense another brain? Incidentally you may want selective on that concealment, otherwise everything around you becomes invisible! One hiccup I note: Attractive pushes you over skill caps. Note that attractive is not needed to play a good looking character (even a stunningly awesome one) - the physical beauty of a character is whatever you want it to be. The Attractive feat really means "my charm is limited to a certain group".
