GM "You did pretty well" said Cord, smiling at her. "Especially for a kid. I won't put you in charge of an interrogation just yet, but you did well. And this is the field, kid. In the field, you often just got to do the best you can do" he explained, flicking his gun and his taser back into the holsters with a quick check on them. Cord looked back to the horizon. "If we got an hour before that glue melts, then we best get cracking. We can't be far off. Just got to hope that we are in time, and no other hunters are after our quarry" A while later... The terrain was getting more harsh, rock covered with snow, the trees thinning, and the flats turning to hills then ravines and mountains. It wasn't much harder going, but it was still hard. And cold. And then, an explosion. It was ahead, maybe a mile, maybe even less, on an elevated crag of rock that was neither big enough to be a mountain nor small enough to be a hill. But it was loud, loud and powerful. Cord clapped his ears as the deafening boom hit them. The air whipped past both of them, causing Cord to take a step back from the force of the explosion even at this distance. "Dear God, he is getting more powerful" he shouted through deafened ears. Up ahead, a cloud of debris and dust, that arced into the air, and started raining down on them. "Take Cover!" he yelled, as rocks started landing around them. Before he could move further, a rock the size of Jay's fist landed on him, a glancing blow to the head, which caused Cord to collapse backwards, his scalp bleeding and his body folding, unconscious.

GM At that point the scruffy and sweating K came bumbling into the little group. "You...you is the Edward Farrington!" he said, stumbling and grabbing hold of the athlete. He was sweating profusely, and his breath smelt very slightly of vodka. He was soaked in exertion and anxiety. dripping adrenaline. "I have warning for you from mutual acquaintance" he explained. "You know him? Blond guy, tall, being built like the brickhouse?" he asked, putting his hand above his head to show the height of Erick. "He is the saying your life is in the danger!" he said. "Just like mine, but more of the so! Someone trying to shoot you..." he explained, miming a rifle in his hands, tracking the imaginary horizon and recoiling from a shot. "Bam bam! Bullet is in the head! you dead!" he finished melodramatically. "Shoot you in middle of race! and middle of face!"

Well Pitchs tatoo is normally exposed (its pretty big and she leaves some part of uncovered). It fails if some swine wraps her up or uses some appropriate create object / snare / whatever!

We have a surprise round for you guys! Surprise Round 22 - Tsunami - 2 HP 19 - Temperance - 3 HP 11 -Wave Eye - 1 HP 9 - Glamazon - 1 HP So feel free to burst in however you wish! The foes will be flat footed. Remember only a standard action for surprise round (if you want to sneak in to mellee, please make a DC 19 Stealth Roll to get there and act, other wise its just a move action!) Note that Captain Blood is Insubstantial. Make a DC 10 Notice roll to pick that up (as you are busting in and orientating yourselves). Your enemies are the good Captain Blood, 25 of his crew (Skeletons, minions!), who are not quite together (but you could attack in clumps of 5 with takedown), and a pillar of barnacles in the middle, which has a toughness of 10, and uncertain nature!

GM In the Entertainment Room... Sammy Smooth, perma-tanned velvet suited lounge singer was on his knees. "Puh---puh---lease----Not me! Not me! I got a whole life ahead of me!" wept the man. He looked like a man in his mid fifties trying to look like a man in his twenties. His hear was combed over, his midriff sporting a slimline corset. The man standing over him was a Pirate. A full blown pirate, with musket pistol by his belt, flayboyant hat, and a cutlass he waved lazily in the air. Something about him was faint. Like a ghost. "There be no use blubbing an' wailin' like a woman, me hearty! You numbers up, the dice been' rolled. Some of you down to Davy Jones, some of you to join me new army!" he laughed, pointing at the centre of the Entertainment Room. There, for all to see, dominating the large hall was a column of barnacles that constantly cracked and blistered, like wood and splinters. It was as high as the ceiling, and as broad as ten men. And in it...something moved. Several things moved. Things that looked like men... Witness to this marine marvel, several dozen passengers, who tended towards the old and retired, their dreams of a romantic relaxing cruise quite dashed. And taunting them, the ghostly crew of Captain Blood, green and decayed, but with all the paraphanlia of pirates, with cutlasses, picks, and hooks all hefted in a menacing manner.

Ok so a little comic book science handwavium in the last post. Basically the Professor has a way to make you super-attractive (to eat?) for the big T. Throwing out some options: 1. The Pheremone handwavium thing could be a possible complication for Osprey if it affects him (no need for this, it could just be a problem for the T, given he was affected most brutally). If you want to riff on this, speak out! 2. The Osprey formula and its "DNA stabilisation" could potentially be a cure for Catalysts chemical burns, a medical marvel if you will. Roo, if you want to play on any of that, speak out! of course, even if it works, you can always have it temporary or mutating or something. Just throwing out stuff you may wish to use. [As always any other ideas you have, throw out!]
-
GM Blackpool was in a bad mood, his enthusiasm turning sour after Catalyst's scolding. He worked almost silently, angrily. Passive aggression was his cloak. He nodded at Osprey's question and took blood tests, running it with quick efficiency through the Haven's medical equipment. "Your DNA has stabilised. Your transformation, well, its encoded in your DNA now, truth is, whilst the effects of the formula are clear, what effects they are...vary..." he said, avoiding Catalysts eye. "It does show signs of being dose dependent. In Captain Roses case, a low dose, a minor effect. In yours, more significant. And then..." he paused. "The Tyulluan. How I would love to see what happened there..." he said, full of irritation. His head popped up from the microscope. "Although...that might be possible now..." he said, his eyes lighting up and turning to Osprey. "You have the most stable mutations I have. Stable enough that...if....yes, I could use them. With your DNA I could encode a pheremone scent. It is a kind of fail safe I built in. You could be the perfect bait for the Tyulluan!" he said, becoming more eager as the jigsaw pieces fell into place. "I infect you with a harmless viral agent, that you then excrete. At worst, you will fill a little under the weather, but you would be excreting your DNA codes far and wide, and the Tyulluan would come running!"

"This place is the pits" moaned the Hound, his nostrils alight with the smells. Drugs, urine, trash. For his canine nose, this place was literally the pits. The refuse and sewage of the city insidiously crept here. He was pretty sure this was a street for drug addicts to shoot up and sleep away. Harry had pulled up with the Agencies Chevvy. It burped petrol and fumes, to the tune of his curses. He had had to give it a good kick before it started. His partner, Freddy could have bounded his own way there, but elected to ride in the car. And to get some hot dogs on the way. "Gotta keep my iron up, ya know?" he laughed, and burped. Harry could smell the state of digestion of the hot dog from his partners breath. "Yeah yeah. You just really put me off my dinner, ya know?" he complained, turning off the engine. "I'll just stay in the car with the windows up whilst you go knocking, ok? This place looks like it is home to the thug party of the century. I dont want to get stabbed or shot today, even with you around!" he complained. "Sure thing" said the uncomplaining Mess, getting out of the car and following Cannonade.

Personally the Mess would like to let him go scuttling back to his mum with a clip round the ear!

Ok, so let me know when you guys want to enter the Entertainment Room... Coupla things: The Captain wont follow (craven!) but you do have full access to the ships blueprints and layout from him. There are ducts and pipes into the hall, but not easy to get through: You will need Insubstantial 1+, Shrinking 4+, or an Escape Artist DC 20 (you could take 20, but that would be a loooong time) to squeeze through. The hallways has four entrance doors. Feel free to narrate pretty much any prep you wish, as long as it is not hours long! Let me know when you want to boost in. If necessary, stealth rolls. And initiative rolls!

So, Foreshadow (by looking) or Synapse (by mind scanning and control) will know that off camera, Nevsky is struggling under a pile of security gaurds and about to be injected with a powerful sleeping drug, all on the Biathalon track. Edward is being reinvited to join - which he wants to, but he will follow Dees lead. It would be a Diplomacy roll to stall the officials. DC 10 for a few minutes, DC 20 for an hour, DC 30 the next day, complaining that it needs to be rescheduled. Of course, you could you intimidate.

GM A rather flustered Russian Official, short, trim of body and trim of moustache, clipped black hair and black eyes, jumped up to Edward amidst the commotion. "Farrington? Edward Farrington?" he spluttered, head spinning. "The Olympic Committee of Russia apologises for the problems that have been temporarily stopped the event" he said, feet tapping along to the beat of his passable English. "We are pleased to the announcement of the restarting of the event. We are the asking all competitors to start lines, please!" he said, trying to smile and pass of the problems like it was every day an Olympic Athlete stripped naked and streaked along the track. "Problems are entirely under controlling. We would not wanting the good name of Russian organisation to be made into the bad, no?" he said with emphasis. Someone had given him a severe grilling. Heads would be rolling, and he wanted his to remain between his shoulders. "Please, coming to the Start Line?" he said politely to Edward, who shrugged. The official gave an apologetic shrug to Dee. "Much apologies. The man in the question went crazy. Now under sedation" he smiled, acting out a heavy injection to his arm.

Cruxberry seemed unworried by Dee's irritability. Perhaps even satisfied. "You can go dress up as Micky Mouse and Donald Duck for all I care" he said, leaning on his desk and studying them both carefully. Perhaps Agent Smith did too, but his black sunglasses and granite immobility gave no indication. "The Ministry has a certain influence over the press, but its a fractious one. There have been times when we have persuaded them to quash stories that would not serve the national interest, such as the identity and background of the Vanguard. But its a delicate matter, even more so in these nebulous days. We will do our best to obscure your identities, but we do not have authority over a free press. And some hacks are more bone headed than others" He gave a knowing glance to Dee. "I know that odious little guttersnipe, Billy Bunting, has a thing for poking his nose around in the Farrington affairs. And, whilst he writes tripe, he is good at getting it. If he sniffs out you are Synapse, or that a new Vanguard is being formed, I would not be best pleased. Nor would you, I imagine" he said, in a neutral tone.

They came in all shapes, all sizes. Their essence was mecurial. She knew more about demons than most, and she knew you couldn't ever know them. At least, not fully. But with the Cantos Cane in her hand, she could sure see a demon when she saw one. It flared a horrible fire to her eyes. Even without the cane in her hand, it would not have been hard to guess. The smell going up the stairs was clue enough. Her legs ached from pulling herself up the stairs and her mood was not pleasant. "Not the subtle type, are ya, buster?" she commented, hurling a chain of black steel at the demon, the metal smoking and warm, delivered straight from the infernal forge, the land of steel and fire and endless clanging of metal on metal. The forge she could draw on, fuelled by her plentiful supply of anger. The demon was fast though. And she wasn't fast enough.

Ok So I will take it that Pitch has kind of used a move action to get into the room after Nick (if not technically, it still fits with her slowness of foot). Then, lets chain it up. Ill switch this +2 Attack, -2 DC. 1d20+12=18 which I would imagine misses!

LEFTY AND RIGHTY by Thevshi 17 Points for Bloody Mess. 5 PP to improve Immunity to all Bludgeoning Effects (instead of just damage) 5 PP to "buy off" Equipment (No longer reward based) 3 PP to improve all exotic saves by +1 2 PP to buy Swimming 2 (Might pumped up arms, also affected by boost) 1 PP to buy Second Chance (Unarmed Strike Toughness Save) 1 PP to buy an Alternate Power to Blood Control "Bloodsucking" Total = 17 PP Slightly changed Healing from limited to lethal damage, to limited to damage with blood loss / effects. Likely, this is very similar, but their would be times when non-lethal damage caused blood loss (such as blood sucking, many poisons and diseases), and times when lethal damage would not (such as many energy attacks). Adding sedation to most blood control attack powers (makes sense to me, keeps the blood thin...) A few minor corrections to formatting and fluff. GM Captain Rose just gave a slight smirk. It was a mixture of attitudes, and mirth. She just stripped down to her functional underwear, a sports number rather than anything frilly, to briefly reveal an athletic, ripped body with more than a couple of scars, before putting on the robe. Perhaps she was assessing Jasmine's reaction. Her eyes certainly never left the scientist, coolly assessing what Jasmine would make of her. Captain Rose's athletic physique was exceptional, but whether it was the Osprey formula, a herculean devotion to the gym...or both. Meanwhile, the results of Osprey's tests came floating in from a rather irritated and frowning Blackpool. He kept quiet, but he was clearly fuming at Jasmine. "There we are. Metabolic parameters well over human normals. We have Osprey DNA fused and stabilised with human DNA. Yes...unfortunately the binding process is unpredictable, but stable once complete. Hmmm. It means that exactly what happens is essentially random, but it is relatively set once done..." Jasmine and Osprey just caught a tense sigh of relief from Captain Rose. "Tell me, Osprey, how do you feel? how has the formula affected you?" asked the Professor, pushing his glasses back onto his nose and addressing the Avian superhero directly.

ic Earth Victoriana: The Face of Politics
Supercape replied to Supercape's topic in The Realms Beyond
GM ...A short steampunk car ride later... The Royal Society for Metaphysical Engineering, Greenwich. Atop a green hill, at the centre of a green park, stood the fabulous Royal Society for Metaphysical Engineering. A magnificent redbrick building, elegant, refined, and just the right side of being overstated. The observatory was first class, the halls and rooms and endless books filled with learning and invention, bristling with possibilities. It was here that Ms Wells had developed the fabled Brit Machine, and first brokered contact between Earth Victoriana and Earth Prime. Or, as this dimension would call it, Earth Prime and Earth Colonial. Doctor DeRombert was indeed French, from the Univesity De Paris, perhaps the foremost university of this dimension outside Cambridge and Oxford. The relationship between the French and the English was one of brawling cousins. They were both pretty much on the same page, but with different text. He was a tall, thin man, with an elegant black haircut and an elegant black goatee. His eyes were piercing green and he had a mixture of snake like charm and magnetic good looks that had made many a student swoon. "Oui Oui! what is all this commotion! I am at work!" he spat indignant at the intrusion. The Society Bursar, a Mr. Wellington, a portly, jovial man of balding head, flushed cheeks, wide grin, and portly fumes (from his much known love of raiding the port cellars of the institute) stood up to his full five foot five in defiance without replying. He had dutifully acted as hospital host, guiding to the Natural Sciences department and its fumes, courtesy of never ending chemical experiments.- 100 replies

OOC for The Haven is being trawled through and repaired, and is half back on line. Feel free to explore or make rolls to use it if you wish (it is quite safe now!) Social posts for a bit, with Eileen now in the mix, and Blackpool all ready for some ear bashing from Jasmine. We shall then move to examining the Osprey and looking to catch the Tyullian.
