What say you guys to a trek southwest and a scene cut? At midday it will probably take 2 hours in heavy heat, so two rolls to avoid CON loss...+2 modifier for being with frendlies and well supplied with water. Thoughts?

Thinking aloud is good! I would build this as Enotion control 10 Ap: Nauseate with variable descriptor 1 Adding in other limitations to taste. If you want a back up damage power you could always do soemthing like an ap with strength representing enraging yourself.. Or something like the rage feat with affects others (allowing yourself snd others yo beserk) Or even boost if you want to make it messy!
-
To be honest this looks like just an array of every status effects and damage for gaming purposes. Emotion control with sense dependent flaw works fine on its own. You could ap a nauseate or stun power maybe with a 1 point variable deacriptor feat as "any intense emotion" and maybe a psychic blast for a second ap, to represent beong totally overwhelmed with an emotion. Im not sure the limitations of needung a certain emotion are warranted even if you did want to go down this complex route. For instance, damage effects only on hostiles is not a limitation. A drawback at best.

OK, over to you guys for a few posts, then I will chip in!

Pitch smouldered and smoked, listening to the roll call silently. She wasn't exactly subtle herself, walking around like a living bonfire. "I'll spot anything hellish, don't you worry. Well, literally hellish rather than metaphorically" she added. There were some demons that were invisible to the eye, of course. She couldn't spot them. But she could see through any disguise. No hiding as a mortal man. She strolled away, swinging the Cantos Cane. "I got a phone, if that's what ya mean, but I can't use it like this. Smoke damage" she explained. She had tried once or twice, but each time, she ended up paying bucks for a new one. She scooped up a rat in the gully, and pressed the Cantos Cane to its head. A vague and disconcerting whistling, shrieking came from the cane, like an incantation partly in Latin, and unpleasant to the ear. She then dropped the rat in Nicks hands, where it sat still, looking up at him. "My friend here, just talk to him when you need me. I'll hear" she smiled through black and smoking teeth. With that, she started her patrol, examining the buildings carefully, and when she saw a vermin on the street, picking it up and repeating the process. The Cantos Cane sang a half dozen more times, and the rats, bedevill'd creatures, started to spread out, faster and quieter than she was, with ears and eyes scuttling the streets for the peculiar...

Ok feel free to narrate travelling x hundred yards "uptrack", although the track will end in a mile or so. And find the unexploded bomb. Make knowledge (Physical Sciences) or (Technology) to analyse it. DC 20 will realise

GM "The shortest, distance wise...." he said pointing in a south westerly direction. "Towards Khamha. A small town, small hospital. Make sure the sheets are clean, though" he said. "The bomb is on the way...we have the rail track sort of plotted out, against all the odds from sabotage. They can blow up the rail track, but they can change the scenery" he explained. And he was right - the scenery, rolling green hills and background mountains looked very impressive. Some of the Labourers had erected a servicible stretcher, from cotton and wooden rail track. It looked pretty sturdy, and would more than do in a pinch. "This is what I call luxury!" said Bob, wincing in pain and pale of face, movement causing a slow leakage of blood. "If only I knew you had to get a penetrating abdominal injury to be carried around, I would do it every day!" he quipped, his sardonic humour keeping his morale up - although deep down he looked scared.

GM Captain Singh raised his dark eyebrows at the question "Why Ma'am, what a peculiar question, leastways for an educated lady like yourself. Perhaps the midday Indian sun has affected your feminine constitution?" he asked politely, waving an ineffectual handkerchief over her face to effect a minute breeze. It was hot - at least in that regard he was not mistaken. "It is the year 2014, ma'am. Another glorious year of the British Empire, and King Charles, God bless him!" he said, saluting by reflex. As Ulysses came roaring back, Singh had a chance to twirl his moustache again and display his wonder at the man-train. "By the many arms of Vishnu! I have never seen a man so fast! Its like you have a steam engine in those legs of yours, sir! Why, I know this world is full of marvels, but mainly for the likes of those in London, or Delhi. Bless my soul if I haven't seen a miracle!" As he heard about the booms and the bomb, he thought for a moment. "Why then sir, you have done a service to King and Country, bless you! I'll make my way to that bomb and see what I can deduce from plucking it! Dangerous job, but for the Empire!" he said proudly. "Now, you still need to get your man to a hospital - which way will it be?"

"We come to find ya" wheezed the Mess, standing up to his full five feet and crinking his neck. His blood began to pump down, his muscles deflating a little. He still looked like a sack of melons, but wasn't quite as dysmorphic as before. "Yer Mam sent us. Told us you get yerself' into a whole heap of trouble with fightin' and scrappin'. Looks like she wasn't wrong" he said, wincing as his joints and bruises sang a merry tune to his brain. "And I fer one would like to know what happened to make you risk your bones down here?" he asked, a grin of politeness and insistence. "We just got our asses kicked around from one corner to the other. Not that I run from a fight, but hell, this was more like a war!"

Sorry my fault, that will need two DC 15 Fort Saves then. And we can have both knocked out. Sorry Sand - combat over! this was just the preamble! (Pierce for reference even if you post stuff IC, it is usual convention here to give a very brief OOC post about what type of attack you are doing such as: "Using selective area attack on the two sewer men" - just helps avoid stuff! ) That said, two knockouts, and I have editted my post!

Ok lets say two explosions, he finds the third one, and accumulates 1 injury, and gains a hero point as above!

Sure, you can set some off though! Ok so lets say you need a DC20 Notice check to spot one, given you know what to look for and have Singh to brief you. Roll Notice until you get a 20+. Each failed roll is an explosion: i.e. DC 20 Reflex roll to avoid (with +2 situational bonus as you know precisely what to expect!), and then a DC 25 or 20 Toughness check. Of course, with your impervious, if you make the reflex roll you halve the rank of the attack, and suffer no effects. So essentially each failed roll is a DC 20 Reflex (at +2), and if that fails, a DC 25 Toughness check,. Also, this is one of those rare occassions that I will award an HP for sheer awesome., Running up and down a railroad setting off bombs just screams a great few panels in a comic. GM "Well thats just the thing sir" said Singh, turning his attention to Ulysses with a politeness diminished. It was all in the accent, it seemed. "We don't rightly know. That's why they got me up here to supervise. Bomb Disposal Expert, Royal Sappers, 1st Class" he said proudly, before deflating. "But whoever is making these is a genius! I have know idea what sets them off. Perhaps they are different every time - a sound, a tick of a clock, even the smell of a flower for all I know. Our little track bomber seems to know every trick in the book, and if I may be so bold as to speculate, changes his modus operandi every time. To my vexation, Sir, I cannot stop him. And we lose track, time, and men each time. To be honest, if this continues, the whole line may be called off" he shook his head sadly.

GM "Let me see..." said Singh, advancing forward and looking at the faint Bob with an inspectors eye. He twirled his moustache in thought. "Yes, I see. Surprising you all got off so lightly, really, a mighty big explosion. Nearest hospital...well, its either 20 miles down that way..." he thumbed back towards the railtrack that had been built. "Or 10 miles that way..." he thumbed were the labourers were building track. "Although I say hospital...this is rural India, Ma'am. The British I have done fine things here, like this track. But the big hospitals are only in the big towns. We have small community hospitals. Hopefully enough for your manservant here...." he said. Bob coughed, a dangerous thing with a piece of metal in your midrif. A small leak of blood came out. Still, he didn't regret it, in light of being called a manservant. "Devil of a treck either way in this heat. We could fashion a stretcher of sort, but its a long walk either way. And the quickest route..." he pointed towards the unfinished track. "Well, its probably riddled with bombs!"

GM "I do beg your pardon, ma'am!" said Captain Singh as he put away his revolver. "Couldn't be rightly seeing you with all that dust and whatnot. Beggin' your forgiveness, but i do declare I thought you were a man for a moment. We don't get many of the fairer sex on the rails. On accountin of their more fragile disposition, you see" he said, giving her a doff of his captains cap. He was clearly impressed with her demeanour and language. He ordered a couple of Indian labourers to waft the dust from her face. "Be a damn miracle you survived. We have been trying to build this track to Dehli all last summer, right into spring this year. Keeps getting blown up faster than we can build it. The toffs...beggin' your pardon ma'am...the top brass so to speak, well, they are getting a bit short of the fuse, as the mayor told me. Well, I said, I'll show them a short fuse! we have lost two dozen men and more. Cant get anyone to work here but these poor souls, too desperate and hungry to turn up work if its offered..." he sighed, clearly sad by the whole affair.

Doctor Morsi put down his instruments and turned to face Amir, a smile on his face - a defiant and unpleasant one. "I am indeed a very bad liar, Mr. Misri. I was not cut out for this undercover James Bond story. I was not cut out to be a lowly lab assistant. These idiots here...I am smarter than all of them! It is no surprise that I was found out" he said in a resigned way. "So, false passport, illegal immigrant. Yes, I confess my crimes. No doubt the CIA and the FBI...and UNISON...they would all be very pleased to have a top rate nuclear scientist defect to America, yes? Perhaps even more so if he can wag his tongue about the nuclear programmes and research in the middle east. The Americans are very worried about a dirty bomb going off in the homeland, are they not? perhaps the should be!" "Pfah, this will delay me. I will have to seek sanctuary with the officials" he virtually spat the word out. "Who sent you then? which government agency do you work for?"

Despite lying in filth with a broken leg, exhausted and battered, she visibly breathed a sigh of relief and even smiled. Her father was not the one to blame... ...probably. The seeds of doubt had been planted. But if this strange man didn't think her father was back from the dead, he probably wasn't. Life is too short to doubt...he's dead...gone...buried...don't forget that. Don't doubt it... "Whoever that kid is, I'll get my cane back. I'll survive this, and I'll survive worse, don't you doubt it..." she said at the man. At least he wasn't trying to kill her, or fling her off roof tops, whoever he was. True, it was arguable how much the man was going to help her... But I'll take not killing me for starters... "I'll take my chances at hospital. At least till they plaster me up" she said "I'll use a wheelchair if I have to" she explained. "But what you ain't told me is who John is? why a guy like that can climb up walls and do all that crazy stuff. What is he, possessed?"

GM Big Bob looked pale, the reality of a serious injury hitting him. "Agitating? You try not agitating when you have a piece of shrapnel in your guy!" he said faintly in reply to Ulysses inquiry. It was the shock that did him, a cold sweat on his brow. "Yeah, I'll leave it well alone, madam" he said to Dee, somewhat reassured but still afraid. "And a hospital sounds great. I hear they have them doctors and nurses in the hospital..." he said, smiling weakly. The cries of the men approaching grew louder. Probably two dozen or so. As they approached, Ulysses and Synapse could make them out - Indian's - or at least most of them. Dressed in white cotton, complete with turbans. Calling out in Hindi. They looked like the rail workers, some carrying light tools - the heavier ones being dropped after the explosion that had wrecked the rail. Leading them was the foreman. Englishman, by the looks of it - at least, he dressed like one, and had an excellent bushy moustache in the style of a victorian gent. His skin was dark, however, and his hair jet black. Maybe half Indian by descent. "Captain Vikram Singh! Halt in the name of the King!" he said, pulling up his revolver at the three dimension travellers. "What in blazes are you doing here? Another explosion? We will never get this damn track finished? Who are you? The culprits?" he asked with a trace of suspicion but little enthusiasm. It would take some rather silly bombers to hang around in the explosion, and all three had a light coating of dust, earth, and soot.
