  1. Yeah lets go with a snap and a punch! Unfortunately, whilst you snap the Machete, you miss Max! Could you post that IC?
  2. GM "Owww....... uuuuuuugh......" The shrunken heads eyes popped open. They were green. Not green iris. They were total green, completly uniform green, like a billiard ball painted green all over. Possibly blind. Possibly made of mushed up leaves and lichen. "Who pooookes me?" said the head. the mouth was so dry it's voice was more of a croak than anything, but it was getting a little clearer, and with careful listening you could make out what she was saying. "I can't see... who is this that torments me so?"
  3. Gamma Buzz "Not a grenade!" shouted Baz, his Antenna trembling with his cockroach-senses. "But not a girl, either!!!" he added, starting to glow green in preperation for... ...for.... for what?. He had no idea. "Obviously my amazing cockroach senses can detect EXACTLY what you are, but who needs cockroach senses when... errr...." His eyes sneakily shifted to Lawrence. "...we have the AMAZING GENIUS of TIMEOUT! Who can use his amazing TIME SENSES to determine EXACTLY what you are, even if you aren't a grenade. Probably." The heat had gone. Had she shut down her explosive? What the hecking heck was happening?
  4. Gamma Buzz "Underwater, eh?" said Baz. "That sounds great to. Obviously with my amazing cockroach powers I could swim right down there and take a good look with you! Because I am a great swimmer. Or I will be, probably. Probably being a good swimmer is good enough, right?" "And if you build that spaceship, Veuriz, put me on it! Cockroaches can survive in space, you know! Probably. Well, they can definitely survive in space, the question is for how long. I am sure it is a very long time. Probably sure. And as well know, probably safe is good enough when it comes to adventuring in a very hostile environment, right?"
  5. Starshot Starshot gave a tight smile. It was a good compromise. Best they could get. "Sounds the best plan. Ill put the Xeno as near as I can reasonably get her, then we can do the last leg in the ATV. Its pretty hardy but doesnt have the sensor capabilities of the Xeno. So best get your last readings in before we go on wheels." the Xeno quickly covered the ground, setting down a few clicks away from the mountain range. "OK time for that last sweep. I'm going to prep the ATV. See you in the hanger." Starshot pulled himself out of the pilot seat and shuffled down to the ATV, bringing Echo, one of the service bots, with him. It would be good to have someone at the wheel if Doctor Archeville and he needed to go on foot. He frowned at the thought. Doctor Archeville had a brain the size of a planet, but didn't look like he had roughed it under the stars much. "Power 100%. All systems operational..." beeped Echo. Starshot checked his plasma gun, loaded up the web catridges. He put on his utility belt, a few smoke grenades. The lockers of the ATV - Space suits, emergency rations, synthetic rope. He eyes his chipped machete; it was paltry compared to the rifle in his hand, and there were no jungles to cut through. But he slung it by his side. Just in case. "Ready when you are..." he called to Doctor Archeville.
  6. Haven Haven gave a small smirk and nod of his head. Bingo! M was being mysterious, cryptic. What flavour was his, or her, words? Philosophical. Zen, Challenging... ...aggressive? Why would one have to choose? >Truth gives power. >Power grants deception. >Deception kills truth. >The wheel turns. Truth may kill itself. >Today, I seek truth. Lets see if he is as nuanced in his reply.
  7. Gamma Buzz "Space!" sighed Baz. "One day... one day, maybe, we shall all I go into space. Man, I'd go. Someone should buy a space craft. Or maybe build one. I mean, obviously I could build one, given I have the proportional intelligence of a cockroach, and my brain has been fried, I mean fired up with radiation. But maybe someone else could build one..." He loved the stars. Stars were free for everyone to enjoy, everyone to dream. And he saw them in more than just visible light; they seemed to twinkle more than he remembered them as a normal child. He started to dream... drift off... He snapped his eyes open. Sleeping was not cool. "Hey, I wasn't asleep!" he said, firmly. "I was just resting my eyes."
  8. Starshot "Roger," replied Starshot. "But I think we may end up with the thumbscrews on us." He winced. Flashbacks of Nazi Germany. "I mean..." he said, voice cracked for a moment. "The planet spins fast. And people want answers, fast. So time may not be on our side." He shuffled the Xeno ahead, cautiously. He was a reaonable pilot, but getting the Xeno through those mountains could get tight." "Ill get us in closer," he called to Doctor Archeville. "But things may get dicey near the mountains. And the Xeno is big - don't want to scare our friends off. Might be better off on foot, or in the ATV. It's your call, doc..." Too many variables to take a good decision, but a decision needed to be made. And this felt like a call best made by the scientist.
  9. Gamma Buzz Baz started forward. Baz stopped. This was water. He told himself he could swim. He told himself that he was fooling himself. He told himself that of course he wasn't fooling himself and he should shut the hell up. He told himself to stop talking to himself. He told himself that he was a hypocrite for telling himself to stop talking to himself. He realised that wasn't getting anywhere. "This looks like a job for Gamma Buzz, baby!" And besides, it was water. It made a great splash. He took a giant cockroach leap straight into the sea besides Misuki, landing with a magnificent belly flop.
  10. Its rather hard at this point to blast the remaining zombies with the AoE, as everyone is now in a chaotic melee. Machete Max can dodge that blow.
  11. Haven Haven was Milo Mikano. Milo Mikano was dead, and Haven was only an echo. But right now, the mimetic alloy had lost its chrome sheen and had adopted the feature of the dead man. And had dressed in a crisp black suit. M was spreading rumours? Mars Tech was up to something? Haven had no doubt, but their were layers upon layers of intrigue in the corperate world, especially when it came to information. Information was free? Maybe. But it was also currency to others. The music was good. Techno Jazz; the pleasing clash of precision and chaos. He wanted to speak to M. But where was M? Haven sat by a computer, laced his hands together, and started plugging into the dark and obscured corners of cyberspace, hoping to catch M on the other end. What are the rumours?... ...I can help.
  12. Yippee! Techno Jazz! Also he is going to adopt a human appearance (if it comes up, taking 20 on disguise for 30)
  13. GM The Cave was predictably wet. Soon, a mix of sea water and swamp water was lapping around shoes, boots, and capes. It got almost waist deep at some points. Moss and lichen grew on the walls and ceiling. Something fishy (but perhaps not a fish) would be felt swimming around feet. There was a constant drip drip of water falling from the roof of the cave. The Arcane light seemed to reflect strangely of the walls of the cave. At the bottom of the cave was a collection of half-rotten artifacts, obviously the dumping point for smugglers. Here were the discarded items of no value, or at least no buyer. Skulls, voodoo dolls, jewelery. Someone had even tried to pass of a nintendo as an arcane artifact (and this was, to all eldritch senses, clearly just a nintendo. A broken one, at that) - scribbling made up signs on it with red ink did not make it magical. Perhaps most unsettling was, in the centre of the smorgesbord of failed relics, a shrunken head! No bigger than a fist. It was probably a female, with wizened skin and straw hair. "Uuuuuuhhhhhh....." she seemed to say. But was it just the wind whistling?
  14. Gamma Buzz "Well you got my more than me," said Baltazar. "I haven't got a pair of nickels to rub together. I'm surviving on rats at the moment." He gave a wink. Although, as he moved from poverty in Mexico to poverty in the States, Baltazar had eaten rats. His stomach irradiated anything it recieved. As far as Baz knew, he could eat a cup of freezing cold poison laced with acid and he would feel bright as a button. Fortunately, rat was no longer on the menu. "But we don't need to eat rats! Someone can buy us all a banquet! Hot dogs! Burritos! And a cherrypop lollipop on the way home!" His eyes shifted left and right, his antanea shifted. "As long as we are clear that someone doesn't mean me."
  15. GM And so... It was morning now, but the Sun would not show its weary head for four or five hours. This was the cold, empty hour of morning, when even Bedlam tried to sleep. The Circus had set up in a litter strewn park, its canvasses washed out, torn. Primal Fear, as it had named itself, was clearly not a top notch circus. This looked battered, tired. Or maybe it was just Bedlam at night, under moonlight. The Circus appeared to be mainly about animals' John could see the relics of a few clowns - the feet, the noses, painted on the wooden huts. But these were of secondary importance to the large amount of steel cages. Lions, bears, an elephant. All looked reasonably well cared for, and the cages - whilst still cages - were spacious and clean. The Circus artists themselves seemed to sleep in the several portable wooden cabins around the periphery. Although the big central tent could certainly be a house - even a palace (a cheap palace) - for a few. It was silent, bar the scuttling of rats, and the snoring of animals.
  16. Thanks. Baz is going to activate his Leaping X (Flaws: Only to conclusions) power.
  17. Gamma Buzz Baz frowned. He was totally at home with the sewers, his preferred haunt. What he was not so at home about was a girl pointing at a man hole cover and suggesting that some criminal mastermind was down there and that three young super heroes should go down there. It was entirely plausible. But then most good lies were entirely plausible. Otherwise they wouldn't be good lies. His armour plated eyebrows raised even further when he saw the girl heat up, right from the centre, extending out. He could see the flare with his infra red vision. What to do! Panic! "GRENADE!" he shouted at his chums, and pushed them away from the girl. "She's a GRENADE!" It wasn't very clever, but she might explode. And he would rather look a fool than mop up the entrails of his freinds from the tarmac.
  18. GM Machete Max was not happy. "I claim de streets from 'im!" he shouted, waving his Machete at Blowfish. "You're a thug! a simple thug!" retorted Blowfish. "You're a crook! a wicked crook!" shouted back Max, waving his Machete even wilder. But suddenly not so wild. A ruse, perhaps. The blade swung again, right at Chimera! It might have hit, too, but Chimera was fast this time, catching the blade in her hand and twisting it right out of Machete Max's grip. Now she was the one with a blade! "Huh! Dat be clever trick. Ya teach me dat one day!" said a genuinely impressed Machete Max, rubbing his wrist.
  19. Ill take the liberty of mangling some IC of that catch, @Spacefurry but let me know if you want it editted Meaning Nightscale is up, @Nerdzul
  20. Consider him blocked and disarmed. If you wish, you can end up holding the machete
  21. Gamma Buzz Baltazar's antennae quivered, then sagged. He felt the first film of green radioactive tears on his eyes, but blinked them away fast. "Don't be silly! You didn't do anything wrong! And even if you did, so what? Like we are going to go through life without making a few mistakes. Thing is, we always got each others backs, right? I don't care how smart La-- Timeout is. I trust him cos he's got my back. And I got his. And yours. And you got mine. And... and I probably missed on out, but you know how it goes!" "If I suddenly forget how to swim and leap into the water like a fool... ah... not that I ever would do that, or ever have, and anyway I swim fine, but if that kind of thing should happen, I know Torpedo Lass will pull my sorry cockroach ass out of the water, right?"
  22. BELLY FLOPPED BY THEV Gamma Buzz Just a few changes to keep up with how Baz has developed on site Two new complications Like a brick. Despite his strength, Baz has never learned to swim and will thrash about in water. Whilst he can, technically, swim (due to his incredible strength rather than skill), he will be slow, ineffective, noisy, etc as suits the plot. To make matters worse, he has, against all wisdom, the urge to belly flop into any body of water because it makes a great splash. Easily read. When tense, anxious, or angry, his antennae will stiffen and then start trembling. Those who know him well (or the very astute) can read this, potentially making bluffs or tilts easier. Also, in view of extra super sense, just adding this to the Antenna complication which should now look like this: Vulnerable Antenna: Even an average guy (or girl) can easily tear of his Antenna. They regrow back eventually, but without them he will loose his tremor sense and detect radiation tactile sense. Expanding super senses for 3 PP Adding Scent (1 PP) Adding Tactile detect Radiation (2 PP) Super senses will now look like this: Super Senses 6 (Infravision, Ultravision, Tremor Sense, Low Light Vision, Scent, Tactile Detect Radiation, Feats: Uncanny Dodge [tactile]) [9 PP] Adding a new immunity power (1 PP) Immunity 2 (All suffocation, Flaws: Limited to holding breath for extended periods [sustitute rounds for minutes]) "Cockroach lungs" [1 PP]
  23. So, I think we have Round 2 20 - Machete Max - Unharmed 17 - Nightscale - Unharmed - 6 HP 14 - Chimera - Unharmed - 4 HP 11 - Blowfish - Bruised, Dazed [1 rnd] 2 - Zombies [8] Machete Max will acrobatic feint Chimera: 10 - can you resist that? And swipe: 21 - which would hit! But could you roll the block, @Spacefurry?
  24. Gamma Buzz "Rude? He was a complete..." Baz bit his words off, trying to refrain from swearage. Instead, he cracked his knuckles. They cracked magnificently. "...well. He deserved it, that's all I can say. Meanie, nasty, bully. He deserved a kick to the head. More than a kick in the head. And he wouldn't stop, either." He caught a grip of his fury and gave a few steely breaths. "Anyway, where the hell did these idiots come from? And whay did they have super powers? And what were they doing here, at this time of day?" His eyes shuffled left, spying on Lawrence. "I'm just checking you know the answers to these completely obvious questions. I mean, obviously I know, but I wanted to check both of you know the answers as well!"
