  1. Right, not fine toothing this - it still needs a little touch up with formatting - but this looks good! The major issue I see is with the Array. On a related note, the Base Attack of +4 for a Super Soldier is...odd. If he picked up a gun, he would be actually worse a shot than your average soldier (who has a base attack of +5). I know it is expensive, but I would bring his base attack a lot, to something like +10. You have plenty of points you can shave off to compensate - his DEX could be brought down to 20 his saves could lose a few points, and some of his skills could have a few points shaved off. And, of course, if his base attack is brought up to 10, you dont need to buy any attack specialisation for his energy blades. This is just suggestion, of course. A super soldier should, to my mind, be a kick ass combatant with any weapon. He should be abble to grapple, punch, kick, and handle any fire arm. And, in fact, there is probably good tactical reason to have his base attack that high, because he may need to attack at range at some point. And throwing stuff with his high strength (like chairs or people) may be a good move. In any case it is annotated wrong! It should be +4 Base, +10 Neotech Energy Weapon Anyway: The array! So you have a 15PP Array with 2 Alt Feats. This costs you 17 PP, not 15! Now, lets look at those powers: Primary Power should be called Base Power. Strike 6, Mighty, Penetrating 8. So this costs 15. Correct! But, unfortunately, its damage bonus is 11. 6 Base, Plus 5 for your strength bonus. This puts you over caps. I suggest you reduce Strike Bonus to 5, and either up your Penetrating to 8 or add improved Crit feat to it (giving a crit range of 19-20) The Next base power is Stun 7: This is Fine! Quite how it Reverse a stun, good question, but handwavium will fill that gap! no problems! The next power: Blast 5, Accurate 5, adds up! However, we have a problem! Its attack bonus is +20! This, you will not be surprised to know, is not legal! The maximum attack bonus you can have is PL +5 (15 in your case) by shifting attack +5 and DC -5. In other words, the average of your DC bonus and attack bonus must be your PL (which, unshifted means both would be +10). Another limitation is that 1/3 of your total attack bonus must come from your base attack bonus, which in your case is +4. This is another reason to start bumping up your base attack bonus as above! Hope that helps!
  2. Carmen should her head. What? Am I seeing and hearing things? After than monsterous spider thing...and Acheron's death... She put her head in her hands. No. She had to get a grip. This was the way to insanity. If she wasn't their already. She screamed inside. Was she going mad? After all she had been through? Not just now...but everything. She had gone through several life times of madness. It would drive anyone crazy... ...but right now, she had to make sure nobody else died. Acheron was a stab in her heart that would never heal. And she had enough scar tissue to live with. Fire me up Tazel! The smoke and wisps of flame bellowed around her body once more, studs erupting from her clothes and eyes buzzing with fire. She was pitch again, and the warmth ooozed like comfort through her body. "Right, lets go. I think we should make for the Monastry, it's nearer, and we can see about proper rest and getting our sailors back on their feet there..." She just hoped Tazel could stand it...
  3. Carmed smoked quietly, but no now longer silently. "Because I don't judge a book by its cover..." she answered. "Nice shooting, by the way. Keep that up and we may make it out of here....you best get to looking after your fellow sailors. I don't think we can make it all the way back to Acheron's palace. The monastry may be our best bet, although it gives me the spooks. Still, best of a band hand, I think..." "In the mean time, lets see what our little friend here has to say..." She quietened down her smoke and flame, changing back into plain Carmen Cantos. The ice and cold stung her, but she figured she could put up with a little chill till Tazel warmed her up again. And it was less frightening than looking like a bonfire. She hobbled over to the tree. "Come on out. There's no reason to be frightened..." she said, kneeling down on her haunches and resting on the Cantos Cane. "What happened? who are you? and what are you doing out here?" she said as calmly and as reassuringly as possible.
  4. 1d20+6=26 well that is better! what does that get me?
  5. Tazel, I haven't said this before, and I doubt I'm going to say it again, but its actually good to hear... ...who the hell is that? Pitch spun around to look at the young boy more closely. If anything, after the horror of the spider beast, she was sensitised enough to find even the most innocuous of things terrifying at the moment. "And who are you?" she asked a little too sharply, but then - demons came in the most deceptive of forms. "Are you lost?" she said, realising as she said it, it was a stupid thing to say. "Do you speak English?" she asked, repeating the question in Spanish.
  6. Lordy, the slippery devil! 1d20+6=10 heh, no good. Ill stick with that as I like the idea of him being such a slippery ....devil!
  7. ok so the ball is in motion with the time-napping! There isn't much more I can add to this, so I suggest the ball is in your court Thev, for Velocity to contact Hronos and to get a plan in place. Namely, use the Prototype fragments (or the original stopwatch?) in the hands of someone who knows how to use them (John Smith, who spent decades or more studying them, and has a track record of using them to power time travel) to go to the future. I dont think I can post here, so I leave it you guys hands to meet up and ill play John Smith living under house arrest! You may wish to make Knowledge (Civics) Rolls to understand his legal situation but thats further down the line. Meet up first!
  8. So activating the Alternate Form for reference. Now she has Counters Visual Obscurement so that includes Darkvision. Holding the Cantos Cane in left hand. Guess thats all implicit in the IC but, you know, for sake of it!
  9. Who has who cornered... I some pain, and out of puff, breathing hard, Pitch followed, not able to run any more but moving as fast as she could with Cantos Can in her hand. As soon as she hit the darkness... Tazel, Fire me up!!!! Her Body fired up indeed, her leather boots and trousers smouldering and growing studs, her tshirt blackened and burned, and her body doused itself in thick acrid smoke and wisps of flames. Her eyes burned and fire danced out of her mouth. Where once a woman stood, now stood Pitch, walking like a living bonfire. And as Pitch, the darkness held no mysteries to her. She peered ahead, and slowly walked ahead...
  10. 1d20+6=14
  11. The horror had lost its threat with the smoke in its lungs - but Pitch was no fool when it came to demons. They were wrong. Not meant for this world, a corruption of reality, a plague on humanity. She had no way to restrain it, no way to send it back to where it had came from. No time, no energy. And, if she was honest with herself, no inclination. It was not human, it was an abomination. There was only one thing to do with it. She continued to fill it with smoke until it twitched itself to death. She nodded with satisfaction to herself, and the smoke died down. She turned to attend to the sailors. At least none of them had been killed, although the horrifying legs and mouths had left their mark on more than a few. She could only hope that that was the worst the island had to throw at them, although she doubted it, somehow.
  12. "Oh I am a merely an artist" replied Rene full of false modesty. "It is true, I have been known to dabble in ze mystic arts. I have un petit knowledge of ze world beyond ze veil" he said theatrically. He waved his hands in a faux stage magician way, and for effect produced a small flame and puff of smoke as would befit a stage show. Rene did not so much conceal his power, as downplay it. He viewed this as the safest path. With entities from vast and mysterious dimensions scrying the world at every juncture, he did not fancy the complicated deceptions and discipline of a double life. By merely giving the impression he was an aged man with far less power than his considerable ability and wit actually possessed, he could still stay out of the eye of the more malignant entities. "Enough to help a cat down from ze tree, and cure ze warts from your behind" he chuckled. "And, oui, to help with clowns. Very jolly, ze clowns, non? But, alas, it is not always, so, it seems. History has some very sad and bloody stories about clowns. And it is the season of Halloween. Sometimes my nose, it itches. And I wanted to know if this grand circus has had any itches too. So, what can you tell me about clowns, and are you happy with them?"
  13. Thev, for the purposes of PLOT, I would suggest Velocity comes in to see Robert in, knocked out and being whisked of by a generic time agent. Feel free to narrate zipping in and appropriate science handwavium to have the flow of time conspire to miss grabbing him by nano seconds (or whatever science stuff works!)
  14. Rene slammed the book shut. After more than two centuries of life, he knew his memory was getting hazy. But he was damned if he was going to admit it. He vaguely recalled, now his memory was prodded, the tale from his youth. Jingles the Clown, Jingles the Clown... He could almost hear the jungles in the painting. As much as he could not abide the destruction of any art, the creepy visage of the painting he had drawn in his trance tempted him, for the first time in his long life, to tear up or burn the thing he had created. Non! he said to himself. Courage! Even Parkhurst had delivery of newspapers, and he opened up a copy of the Ledger .His finger traced down the long list of advertisements and announcements in the entertainment section, until he came to what he was looking for. Whizzo's Wizzard Circus!!!! It was a good as any. A special Halloween show, no less. And as good a place to look into as anywhere else. They had a picture of the tent. And a picture was all he need. He looked at it for a moment... ...and then he was there, outside the tent, in the cool autumn air.
  15. GM "Excellent! Now I know you could whip something up in a jiffy, but humour me, just this once" he smiled. "Let me do the cooking. I rather enjoy it. Eggs Benedict, I think. With some black coffee and the Times crossword. Just the thing! You just relax and two ten billion lengths in the pool or something!" he joked. He got up and got to work. Robert was actually quite a good cook. His repetoire, was not vast, but he had a fine nose and liked to make pure simple food with good ingredients. And he took time and care. Time passed... ... even for Robert, this was taking a long time... ... a very long time...
  16. So Rene is going to spend an hour to see if there is any mention of "Jingles the Clown" in the past Taking 20 with a history knowledge roll for 25. I guess that wont cover if its a current event, but its a shot anyway!
  17. "Zut Alors!" Rene dropped his paintbush and wiped the thin film of sweat off his brow. He was old, and felt it. He shuddered, a deep unbidden thing running up his spine. What he had drawn was disturbing to say the least. Artistic, he noted, but disturbing. And, he realised a warning. Jingles the Clown. He pressed his spectacles to his nose and examined the painting more closely. Whilst appearances could, he knew better than anyone, be deceptive, it was hard not to conclude that Jingles was a deeply malevolent person. Or thing. Or whatever it was. He stood up, feeling his bones creaking but ignoringthe aches, and wandered off to the Parkhurts library. There was probably no finer collection of tomes, dusty and rare, on history and mythology, the arcane and mysterious, in the city - or possibly the planet. He wondered if there was any mention of Jingles the Clown in those old pages... Or perhaps, Jungles would be appearing in the pages of books yet to be printed...

  20. I have taken the liberty of making numerous edits to the format to bring it up to scratch, Spider, I hope that is ok. For reference, you may wish to note the changes I have made by comparing it with the Character Building version (so you get to know our formatting system - which help us all when you submit character edits and indeed if you wish to submit a second PC!) At this stage I think I can give your first APPROVED!
  21. GM "I know, I know" smiled Robert, as pleased as could be to be with Megan, in the idyllic little world they were in. "It just helps me relax. Things have been..tense...ever since the Stopwatch..." he said. He said it with only a slight strain now, a vast improvement. "It changed me, you know. Not just psychologically. Ever since I had it, something in my head clicked. Like a metronome started. I know the time now without looking. Never wear a watch any more. 11:33 AM and twenty seven seconds" he said with precision. He tapped the side of his head. "Spooky, huh?" he said with a grin. "Of course every second is a gem with you!" he said, ignoring his typing, and gathering her up with a cheeky pat and a cheeky kiss. Whatever anxieties the Stopwatch had caused him, Megan clearly evaporated them - and more. "Hey I'm going to grab some early lunch. I clean forgot breakfast, You hungry? I can make you a bite" he offered.
  22. Ok Spider I havent fine toothed this but I suspect this is looking sufficiently ship shape to put the character bank! You are right about trade offs for different attacks (which can be quite useful. You can punch the slow and tough guys, and laser vision the fast and fragile speedsters). A few final things I spotted without fine toothing this: You should annotatet his attack and Defence as +10 base, and you should annotate this 10 + 10 = 20 at the top (some "0" have crept in at the top?) You want to put the PP cost of his Enhanced Con and Str, and it looks like you have costed his Con at 20 (when it should be 19 due to Power Loss, Daka Crystals) Star Vision Array you should say Variable Descriptor 1 (as there is a Variable Descriptor 2) feat. As a tip, in play make sure you indicate what descriptor you are using, or otherwise indicate on the sheet his default descriptor (such as "usually, he will use laser beam vision") and then say if he is using microwave vision or infrared or cosmic rays or something else. Dazzle 8 with Accurate 3 is below caps and is yet another trade off. I would suggest for simplicities sake keeping it in line with the Laser Vision, making it Dazzle 7 and Accurate 4. It copmes out at 19 PP which is slightly under budget. If you really want to squeeze out maximum utility you could put in an extra feat like Ricochet (bouncing the light ray of a surface which is handy as he can see through walls), or extended range, or improved critical. Nice character, enjoy!
  23. Chase him...yeah....real simple.... She glanced down at her leg from the knee down, with a titanium brace under her boot. She gripped the cantos cane. Ok, technically she could run. For a few seconds. Maybe half a minute if she pushed herself. Run. Not sprint. And it wasn't pretty. I can get out the bar anyway... If she was Pitch, she could throw a chain and capture the man, all smoke, fire and fury. But this was a bar, people where watching, and whilst she didn't mind a few people knowing or even whispering about her - it was part of the mystique of being the daughter of Carlos Cantos - she didn't want it all over the news. So, ignoring the pained flesh and creaking brace of her ankle, she gritted teeth and launched herself after John...
  24. Pitch raised her arms and fought off a few horrible legs and a few horrible mouths, bashing them away with Cantos Devil Stick. Still, the ghastly things puckered all over her skin, leaving whelps and sores despite the smoke and flame and the tingling tattoo on her back that armoured her flesh. Pitch toook a few steps forward - not too close, however - she didn't want to get herself near that ghastly beast. She just felt more in control. She wished she could shout out to the thing. Taunt it. Her hatred of demons was no small thing. Instead, she breathed out smoke and clenched her fist once more, and the smoke that danced around the creature once again curled and snared into its mouths and pores.
