Tiff, I suspect Rev most appropriate to post next?

Meanwhile, Invisible Man is stealing Blackpool. He has a STR of 16 and Blackpool is slightly lighter than average, being old and with the associated loss of muscle mass and bone density. I may be being slightly generous, but I'm going to call that a Medium Load for the Invisible Man - He is moving at 2/3 speed, with Dodge bonus reduced to +3 (Total Defence now +8) and has -3 penalty to all other actions. Jasmine / Catalyst is up again. You can now use the man's dart gun - although you have no idea what it does!
-
GM In Blackpool's office As the gun was wrenched into Jasmine's hand - more by virtue of the invisible man's surprise than her strength - she could feel it's smooth shape. It was, at best guess, a dart gun - silent, and potentially deadly, with a broad snub barrel and a large container. If she could see the damn thing, she could probably make more sense of the dials and knobs. As it was, she could barely make out a fuzzy outline in infrared, mainly on the handle where the man's body heat had warmed it up. The Invisible man was pretty strong, tall and wiry, as far as her limited contact could tell. And resolutely invisible. "You lucky b..." he started. "Never mind" he interrupted himself. "I'll save you for another day little lady. You never know when I will be watching. I could strike at anytime...anywhere...hehehehe....hope you sleep well!" came the little cackle. "In the mean time, I'm here for the prize!" he finished. And in a blink, Professor Blackpool had also vanished from Jasmine's view.

YOung Brittania can only see that there is some sabotage to the systems, but thats it. Id suggest Synapse and Smith bump into her so I will leave that to Thevshi - if so, could we have a similar Knowledge (Technology) roll from Synapse.
-
Is Osprey going up to the bar dressed as Osprey? (I presume, I just check!) For such a magnificent entrance, lets have a straight CHA roll to see how he pulls it off. DC 10 to avoid getting you head kicked in, but getting shoved and pushed. DC 15 People let you through with no elbows and knees, but muttering and slowness. +2 to future diplomacy / intimidate / bluff checks. DC 20 To have an awesome "He got balls" round of (mental) applause. +5 to future checks.

GM There was a pause before Smith answered, and he did so studiously. "You know about Power systems? Yes, you probably do..." he said his voice dull. "That would seem a reasonable course of action. Although the major problem in your plan is we can't actually see anything" he said, his foot steps slow and shuffling. "Did you see the door? we should make our way there...." he said, as Dee heard him pick up his huge briefcase and slowly shufflye towards where she remembered the door was...

1d20+3=13 for the Invisible man. And yes, you now have a genuine dart gun! Could you post that attack IC. Tiff / Thev, I am happy for you two to collide en route to the power grid - either there or in a corridor!

GM The Dog's Tail Bullet Tony's haunt was an old pub near the Thames. It was neither exceptional big, or exceptionally small. But it was exceptional. Even as Osprey approached, a fight was going on outside. To drunken brawlers, with just enough strength and skill to hurt each other but not enough to be called fighters were duking it out in an ugly scene. All to quickly it was over, as a swift knee to the groin was followed up by a headbut and a broken nose. It was bloody and dirty, and the straggle of onlookers raised a cheer and a glass at the victor before heading back inside. The Dogs tail was two floors of drinking and a top floor where who knows what happened. Drinking and gambling probably. This was where "meetings" happened, and Bullet Tony was a regular on all three floors. He was nothing special, other than being a hard man in a hard pub. A seasoned streetfighter who had links and respect. Legend was, he was shot five times by a would be assasin, and refused to have the bullets extracted.

GM Meanwhile...In Blackpool's Office With her goggles on, Jasmine could make out Professor Blackpool stumbling around in the dark. He may have known his office like the back of his hand, but with the sudden blackout and the gunshot, panic had hit and the old man had lost his nerve. "Stay down?" he mumbled. "I can't see I damn thing, how I am meant to...ouch!" he moaned as he bumped into his desk painfully. The door opened, smoothly and quickly. Even with her infrared vision on, Jasmine could see nobody... But a voice could be heard. Soft and full of resentment. "Nice to see you again Professor. I see you have a visitor. Another lab rat perhaps....?" spoke the voice, out of thin air. "What? Who is that? I recognise that voice...you must be..." blabbered Blackpool. pffft Jasmine could see Blackpool clutch his arm and slowly slump to the floor. "....Duke...." he slurred before falling unconscious.

GM Meanwhile...in the conference room... Young Brittania saw the startled responses of the security agents who pulled their guns out of reflex. Cecil Booth gripped his seat. "I say, what the jolly roger is going on?" he said, nerves slicing his voice. Cruxberry stood up and was firm. years of army training had not diminished. "Power cut. Including the emergency lighting. Which isn't possible. Checking the power systems is a very good idea. Until then, full lockdown..." he commanded, as radio's crackled. At least they had not been disabled. All over the building, the story was the same - no power. Doors jammed open. Security camera's off. The place was wide open. "Come with me, I know the way..." motioned Cruxberry, pulling a handgun of an agent and waving Young Brittania to follow him. "Blast this. This place is more secure than anything in the country. How in blazes did this happen!" he shouted angrily as he lead Young Brittania out of the conference room and into the corridors of power. Fortunately Young Brittania's Light shone a path for them. It was not long before they reached the emergency power generator...

Catalyst hears some footsteps and a "Pffft" of a gun. Even with infrared, however, the target is invisible! Could I have an initiative roll from Catalyst 1d20+8=16 for Invisible assasin. In the mean time, YB and Synapse are up, no need for initiative rolls here, and time may be a bit timey-wimey.

Which means, I believe, that Silver Spider is up!

GM Searching a dead body was never going to be a pleasant task. The fact they were searching a stone cold killer, one who Agnes had shot somewhat messily a few hours ago, in a cold morgue in the middle of a bleak night did not make it any more palatable. Even in death, Hatchet was somewhat intimidating. His cold eyes seemed colder and, if one were to feel nervous, the empty black pupils followed you as you moved. Aside from the blood stained clothes, Agnes found a pair of matches from the Wild Joker, complete with cardboard cover. On it, Hatchet had scrawled a mystery: Your Faithful Servant, Handsome Jack Inbound on the Blue Dawn The name was most familiar to Roi. It was the very ship he had arrived on, traversing the atlantic to America!

GM "Mr. Smith" could not be seen, but his steely voice could be heard. "No, I am afraid a flashlight is not part of regular agent equipment. At least, not when in the city" he said. It was hard to tell if he was being sarcastic or just concrete and to the point. "The emergency lighting is down too. This is not a power cut. The only explanation is someone, and someone skilled, has dismantled the whole power systems of the Ministry building" he said. Synapse heard, in the silent garage, full of echoes, Mr. Smith drawing his gun and pulling the safety. Of course, it would not do much good if he couldn't see a thing...

Ok Blackpool kidnap time. The whole ministry is now in total darkness, except for the areas with windows - as it is night time and there is a little street light filtering through (good old CIty light pollution) these areas will be low light As it stands, Synapse is coming up through the garage with Smith, and this is total darkness. Blackpools office is highly secret so no windows - total darkness. Young Brittania meeting the bigwigs is more relazed, with some nice big thick bulletproof glass, so only low light.

Professor Blackpool looked sad but not intimidated. "I see I asked the wrong person to help me avoid just those stupid tragedies" he answered. His voice was grim but slow and measured. If anything it was lower in volume than before. "No. No. I'm not going to stand here listening to your childish philosophies. I'm not going to debate it with you. Do you really think I haven't circled these arguments a hundred times more than you?. And you think you can tie it all up in simple, emotive, reactive anecdotes?. In a few trite comments?. You think you can put everyone in the same neat ethical box? What will you say to your father when he is dribbling with incurable Alzheimer's disease?" He gave her a firm stare. "I am very disappointed in you. Ten thousand years ago your foolish kind would have flayed a man alive for inventing fire. " "Out" He said with an evil voice. The man was hurt, and he we bode no further discussion on the matter. But before his order could be completed, the lights went out. In a windowless room. They were thrust into pitch blackness. "What the devil?" shouted Blackpool, his simmering rage, controlled as he spat at Carrie, now unleashed on the environment. Jasmine heard the sound of a gunshot, and a man slumping to the floor outside... The lights in the entire Ministry had gone out in a blink. Thrusting Young Brittania, Synapse, and their "escorts" and conversations into pitch blackness...

GM Lord Pennyworth stood up - with speed if not steadiness - and shook a fist. It was not at Carrie but at the universe. "Blaw. Let them come, damnation and embuggerance to the lot of them! It will be a cold day in Hell when Lord Pennyworth blubs his guts and fails his mettle because of a scrum of jumped up scallywags with nothing better to do than wave a stick and blow a whistle!" he proclaimed, demanding the attention and acknowledgement of all. Indeed, there was a chorus of "Hear hear" and "What ho" mumbled under semi-sozzled breaths and elegant moustaches that echoes around the Sterling. "Damn rotters, the lot of them! Ill show em, you see if I don't! Get my hat!" he clicked his fingers at the doorman and proceeded to stomp out of the club.- 100 replies

GM Blackpool's pause was barely perceptible but it was there. "That's one term for it, yes. Super-soldiers is another. Eugenics is another. You could choose all sorts of terms, and none would be devoid of a primal gut reaction. Theological, philosophical, political. Not without basis, but often without thought. I trust you have the brains to think past the initial hysteria" he said. "Yes, artificial metahumans if you will. Transhumanism will hit our species, irrespective of any dying superstition. And I for one, think that is a good thing. Ever have we struggled against pain, against death, disability, disease. Against, one might say, ourselves. And we stand at an age where our very DNA has started to become less granite and more mercury" he explained. "This presents dangers of course. Social ones. And ever since World War II, the prospect of altered humans who could dominate the battlefield. Ignoring the world is no solution. One can only steer it. CHange is both painful and inevitable" he said, old in voice for a moment. "I have developed a formula for such a process. However, it is neither stable nor easily produced. I have termed it the Osprey Formula. It has, unfortunately, created a monster. A monster that has escaped and set loose on the world. Spare the lecture on ethics and mad science. It was tested on volunteers who were fully informed of the risks, all precautions were taken, and the result was unforseeable and regrettable. And I do regret it" he sighed, clearly having heard the words of many such lecturers who had neither his wit or wisdom. "I don't intent to repeat it. And that is why I would like your help on the matter. And I do need help. But it would require you taking up a job with the Ministrty, and that requires you to sign the official secrets act..."

"Gunbusters 2? It was awesome" grinned the Mess, his bloody lips curving into a grin as he recalled the ridiculous cheap knock off they had seen. "No it was a piece of..." woofed up the Hound from the street. He sholuldn't have heard at that distance. But some things just demanded to be heard. "Woof Woof, I'm a dog!" he snapped at curious bystanders, before shoving his nose to the air and inhaling deeply. Whoever, or whatever, the hangman was, he had shot off at some almighty speed, but with a bit of luck, he might have a scent...
-
Ok, so the Hound isn't going to be much use getting up to that noose, but he will see if he can pick up a scent and track it in his dog form. With A Notice skill of +13 he cant really fail the basic DC of 10 but I will roll anyway in case there is any issue - like him swinging above ground level: 1d20+13=20 Of course he cant match the speed, but hey ho, you never know!

GM Meanwhile, at the Snooty Fox... Cannonade barely got a snort from the heavy outside the Snooty Fox. Just a nod inside. Inside threw no great surprises at Cannonade. It smelt of beer, and sweat. Steam pipes, ran across the ceiling, emitting a warm glow to an already warm interior. The pub was packed, full of workers - men and women - who were largely drunk, and largely rowdy. There were a few men and women served, but the gravity of perception drifted towards one man, the publican, Little Bill. He was not, it must be said, little. He was well over six foot and had a girth that rolled with fat. His face was podgy, red, with serious eyes and laughing belly. As Cannonade surveyed the scene, he saw two pairs of eyes on him. Workers, grim and staring, whispering to each other whilst surveying him.- 100 replies
