Starshot Starshot grunted. "I can do that," without relish. He had escorted many politicians, nobles and businessmen in his ship, and he could manage all but the most obnoxious ones, provided they kept within the rules of the ship. But this was a different kettle of fish. "You best know though - I am not known for my skill in words. Gruff, brusque, direct, all these have been said of me, and more. I can manage a guest on my ship, but this... man... is not a guest, and I am not a diplomat. So the sooner your can contact CoVic, the better. The Xeno has pretty good communication systems, shouldn't be too hard. Feel free to push them if you need to." He flipped the comms over to contact Kahn. "This is Starshot, captain of the Xeno. Please come aboard as our.. esteemed... guest." He turned to Echo. "And see if you can find out what the latest cuisine and drinks are on the Kahnate. Rustle him up a nice tea when he comes onboard..."

Haven Haven crossed his fingers and rested his head on the bridge, eyes clothes. There was fury, or what he thought was fury. A perfect copy of Milo's brain, of course, but it was not a brain. Fury had a different flavour, not the heat of adrenaline, but something icy, sharp, bitter. And determination, focus. Tyrants!!! >Then it must be destroyed. How? Maybe he should not trust M, not completely. But trust must be earned, and one had to trust a little to earn more trust. It always started with a leap of faith.

Gamma Buzz Baltazar drummed his fingers together, surveying the bamboozling scene. "We seem a bit off target...?" His antennae pricked up, quivering with the felt vibrations of footsteps. "Although with all these costumes, even I can fit in..." Could he persuade the others to go for a night on the town? It was tempting... very tempting. He would probably get lots of compliments about his costume. Which would be cool, but also... painful. "Look, we realy shouldn't be here, right? Shall we just make our way back on foot? Seems like something is disturbing the quantum flux of space time, or... ah... something like that. I mean, disturbing the quantum flux of space time sounds cool, right? So it must be something like that?"

Gamma Buzz "Ugh.... I don't know...." said Baz, wobbling on his feet and then sitting down - hard - on his backside. HIs red eyes swam in opposite directions. "Something hit my head. Like a rock wrapped in velvet, pounding it." It felt like the most abominable intrusion into his very self. "Am I ok? You best tell me... I don't feel myself... did anything change?" He counted his fingers. Still there. He palpated his antannae. Still there. "I'm still me. I think. But would I know if I wasn't?" He gave a frantic glance to his team mates. "You best keep an eye on me. I really don't know what happened...."

Starshot Kinarr Kahn? The Stellar Kahnate. Starshot kept out of Galactic politics. Above his pay grade. Sure, he mixed with the rich and powerful who wanted a luxury yacht to take them on a safari. But he kept his nose out of their business; and requested the same out of them. No good some businessman suddenly thinking he could take down a Jezrik Tiger with a spoon and a plucky attitude. He reached over to the ATV intercom and spoke directly to the Doc. "Friend of yours, Doc?" he asked. "Gotta say I don't like this turn of events. Adding too much instability into an already unstable kettle. But its your call. I keep my nose out of galactic politics. Too much skullduggery. I prefer the simplicity of a fang or a claw." He drummed his fingers against the ATV wheel. This wasn't good, he was sure of it.

Gamma Buzz "Hey! You saying I can't swim? I had in under total control. And even if it wasn't absolutely 100% totally completely undercontrol... and obviously it was... but even if it wasn't and I was a little bit drowning, I can hold my breath for a long time! A minute, probably! Maybe more!" He coughed out some water from his insect lungs. Not all of it came from his mouth. "But anyway, thanks. Obviously it was just a test to see if Mizuki had taught you basic lifesaving skills. And well done, you passed! I will... ah..." His antennae trembled. "...obviously have to make sure your skills are maintained. And maybe I will do that by jumping into a water again and... pretending... to drown. Just to make sure you keep your skills fresh, right?" He gave a smile.

Gamma Buzz Baltazar cracked his armoured plated knuckles. "Sure. That's what we are here for, right? Superheroic superheroism! Lets go! Gamma Buzz, baby!" He hadn't been in a spacetime portal before, but it sounded cool. As long as he didn't end up in space. Wait... maybe I can survive in space? It didn't sound like something he should put to the test. Even for Gamma Buzz. He had no costume to get into, but he took off his white t shirt just to blend in with the ritual. His armoured plated chest proudly on display, his converse trainers still on his gamma feet, his tattered jeans still on his tattered legs, his red eyes glinting. He did feel pretty superheroic right now.

GM "Dat be mah bestest Machete, man!" complained Machete Max, bringing his hands to his cheeks, his jaw wide open in horror. "Yah be 'avin no respect!" He shook himself free of his lamentations and pointed at Chimera. "Boyz! Yah be feastin on da brains nah! Eatem! Gogettem!" The Remaining (i.e. not burn to ash or having their heads caved in) zombies swarmed over Blowfish, Chimera and Nightscale. They were shuffling zombies - as fast as your regular man, or maybe even a shade faster. But they barely had any brains of their own, and their swings were clumsy, miscalculated, unwise. But numbers counted for much, and one of the zombies managed to get its theeth into Chimera's foreram! At this distance, Chimera could see that the zombies were relatively fresh. And more than that - these were the reanimated bodies of Machete Max's Yardie gang. And of Blowfishes Mafia posse, too! And speaking of Machete Max... SPLASH! The Sound of Machete Max diving into the ocean and swimming downwards!

Righty-ho Sorry for delay! Blowfish is dazed So the 8 remaining zombies are up and are going to swarm 3xChimera 3xNightscale 2xBlowfish Largely missing Although we do have a DC 17 Toughness Save for Chimera, @Spacefurry

Haven Haven furrowed his artificial brow, squinting at the words, deep in both concentration and contemplation. >There are no villains. Only villanious actions, and those that act them. He was splitting hairs, but perhaps semantics were important. >I seek liars, to expose their truths. I seek the cruel, for they are dangerous. I seek tyrants, for they impose their will on others. >Ultio 2.0 >...is it a lie? Is it dangerous? Is it the instrument of tyrants? >Or is it all of this? >What would you say? And what would you have me do? Ultion 2.0 sounds like a firecracker in the fire. Power in the hands of the wealthy, the vain. No doubt their were nuances. No doubt they could spend all day debating philosophy. And there was a place for this, but Philosophy without action was just as bad as action without philosophy.

GM "Green?" croaked the head. "I can't see anything at all. Blind! Oh, Lamentations! Blind! Where am I?" Her eye's blinked several times, but the eyes were dead, and the rot inside them did not move. No tears did she weep. "I am in that cave! Tezmolican! The port of pirates and sorcerers, where Annabelle Flint plied her trade and got drunk. Pffft! Europeans! Filth!" She paused. "Wait.. you are European... English? What are you doing here? Aaaaagh! Conquistador! Slaver!" Her face contorted in fury and fear. "What sorcery have you put upon me? Why can't I see? Why can't I move?"

Nothing from Starshot - he keeps out of politics

Gamma Buzz For once, Baltazar kept silent. Just nodding. Lawrence - was a complicated boy, he knew this. They had talked plenty, and Baltazar had picked up on the nuanced complexities of Lawrence's background. Baltazar had never pried; out of respect, out of freindship, and because as far as he was concerned, a man had to look forward, not backwards. Backwards lay regrets. And resentment. "I got your back, Lawrence," he said, fearlessly. If he was going to die, he would do in a blaze of radioactive fury. But there was more; Lawrence sounded different, sombre, steely. What was going on?

Gamma Buzz Baz sat on the floor, chin on armoured hands, never taking his red eyes off the enemy. If they were the enemy. He didn't like them. He didn't trust them. But, he had to concede, they weren't actually attacking him with blazing chainsaws or psionic machine guns. Or whatever strange powers they had. And their story was at least plausible. He glanced at Lawrence. Lawrence usually understood these things. This sounded like reality warping, time distorting stuff. And magic. And science. He sighed. How much easier if there was just a psychotic clown hurling disintegration pies at them. Unless, of course, he got a disintegration pie in his face. He had read that Cockroaches could survive for an hour without their head, but he didn't want to experiment with that. He couldn't quite keep the acid of suspicion out of his words when he spoke. "So what's you mastermind plan, then? Sounds like you have something cooked up...."

Yeah lets go with a snap and a punch! Unfortunately, whilst you snap the Machete, you miss Max! Could you post that IC?

GM "Owww....... uuuuuuugh......" The shrunken heads eyes popped open. They were green. Not green iris. They were total green, completly uniform green, like a billiard ball painted green all over. Possibly blind. Possibly made of mushed up leaves and lichen. "Who pooookes me?" said the head. the mouth was so dry it's voice was more of a croak than anything, but it was getting a little clearer, and with careful listening you could make out what she was saying. "I can't see... who is this that torments me so?"
-
Gamma Buzz "Not a grenade!" shouted Baz, his Antenna trembling with his cockroach-senses. "But not a girl, either!!!" he added, starting to glow green in preperation for... ...for.... for what?. He had no idea. "Obviously my amazing cockroach senses can detect EXACTLY what you are, but who needs cockroach senses when... errr...." His eyes sneakily shifted to Lawrence. "...we have the AMAZING GENIUS of TIMEOUT! Who can use his amazing TIME SENSES to determine EXACTLY what you are, even if you aren't a grenade. Probably." The heat had gone. Had she shut down her explosive? What the hecking heck was happening?

Gamma Buzz "Underwater, eh?" said Baz. "That sounds great to. Obviously with my amazing cockroach powers I could swim right down there and take a good look with you! Because I am a great swimmer. Or I will be, probably. Probably being a good swimmer is good enough, right?" "And if you build that spaceship, Veuriz, put me on it! Cockroaches can survive in space, you know! Probably. Well, they can definitely survive in space, the question is for how long. I am sure it is a very long time. Probably sure. And as well know, probably safe is good enough when it comes to adventuring in a very hostile environment, right?"

Starshot Starshot gave a tight smile. It was a good compromise. Best they could get. "Sounds the best plan. Ill put the Xeno as near as I can reasonably get her, then we can do the last leg in the ATV. Its pretty hardy but doesnt have the sensor capabilities of the Xeno. So best get your last readings in before we go on wheels." the Xeno quickly covered the ground, setting down a few clicks away from the mountain range. "OK time for that last sweep. I'm going to prep the ATV. See you in the hanger." Starshot pulled himself out of the pilot seat and shuffled down to the ATV, bringing Echo, one of the service bots, with him. It would be good to have someone at the wheel if Doctor Archeville and he needed to go on foot. He frowned at the thought. Doctor Archeville had a brain the size of a planet, but didn't look like he had roughed it under the stars much. "Power 100%. All systems operational..." beeped Echo. Starshot checked his plasma gun, loaded up the web catridges. He put on his utility belt, a few smoke grenades. The lockers of the ATV - Space suits, emergency rations, synthetic rope. He eyes his chipped machete; it was paltry compared to the rifle in his hand, and there were no jungles to cut through. But he slung it by his side. Just in case. "Ready when you are..." he called to Doctor Archeville.

Haven Haven gave a small smirk and nod of his head. Bingo! M was being mysterious, cryptic. What flavour was his, or her, words? Philosophical. Zen, Challenging... ...aggressive? Why would one have to choose? >Truth gives power. >Power grants deception. >Deception kills truth. >The wheel turns. Truth may kill itself. >Today, I seek truth. Lets see if he is as nuanced in his reply.

Gamma Buzz "Space!" sighed Baz. "One day... one day, maybe, we shall all I go into space. Man, I'd go. Someone should buy a space craft. Or maybe build one. I mean, obviously I could build one, given I have the proportional intelligence of a cockroach, and my brain has been fried, I mean fired up with radiation. But maybe someone else could build one..." He loved the stars. Stars were free for everyone to enjoy, everyone to dream. And he saw them in more than just visible light; they seemed to twinkle more than he remembered them as a normal child. He started to dream... drift off... He snapped his eyes open. Sleeping was not cool. "Hey, I wasn't asleep!" he said, firmly. "I was just resting my eyes."

Starshot "Roger," replied Starshot. "But I think we may end up with the thumbscrews on us." He winced. Flashbacks of Nazi Germany. "I mean..." he said, voice cracked for a moment. "The planet spins fast. And people want answers, fast. So time may not be on our side." He shuffled the Xeno ahead, cautiously. He was a reaonable pilot, but getting the Xeno through those mountains could get tight." "Ill get us in closer," he called to Doctor Archeville. "But things may get dicey near the mountains. And the Xeno is big - don't want to scare our friends off. Might be better off on foot, or in the ATV. It's your call, doc..." Too many variables to take a good decision, but a decision needed to be made. And this felt like a call best made by the scientist.
